Morning bun before they nuked and killed it
    Alex A.

The protocol here is unnecessarily inefficient. After being placed on a waitlist and waiting for 20 min, we were then directed to a table (identified by a number), you're then required to get back in another line to place your order. The pastry case has no prices or descriptions, which is especially frustrating given how unique some of the items are. The food was equally disappointing. The Joe's Special was bland and forgettable. I ordered a morning bun and specifically asked for it to be heated; it wasn't. When I asked again, it was microwaved instead of toasted, resulting in a SOGGY, inedible mess. The only bright spot was the power scone, which was decent and on the healthier side--but even then, ingredients weren't listed, and I had to ask to find out it contained no sugar or refined flour, with blueberries and oat flour. The staff was also very nice. Overall, this place was a letdown and absolutely not worth the wait.

An early breakfast at a Walnut Creek classic - Sunrise Bistro! We enjoyed the breakfast burrito with bacon (and a side of bacon- small Portion not worth it). The burrito was good. I enjoyed Chelsea's omelette- egg whites with broccoli, Jack cheese, zucchini, spinach, avocado. Served with the sides- love their potatoes and the homemade dill bread. Always a healthy and delicious start to the day here!

Really enjoyed my breakfast at Sunrise Bistro! The food was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were generous.

Was hitting up a few Walnut Creek places early on a Saturday and popped in for breakfast. Avocado toast on super seeded bread is always reliable. Biscuit sandwich with sausage was really good. The biscuit was fresh and moist, with fluffy scrambled eggs and a great sausage patty. Both items were solid.

Came right before a huge rush so got lucky to grab a table. Got the special with scrambled eggs, bacon, and the lemon ricotta pancakes. Have the pancakes with only the blueberry sauce- skip the syrup. The coffee wasn't the best but the biscotti it came with was delicious.

My favorite Saturday morning breakfast spot in Walnut Creek. I love the food and the incredible staff who do such a great job making you feel at home here. I've never had a bad experience. The wait times can be on the longer side during peak times, but it's worth the wait. The indoor seating is not too crowded somehow, despite how many people show up for breakfast, and outdoor seating is also an option when the weather permits. Their lunch offerings are also solid.

I realized I'm way overdue for reviewing this place, it's been over five years since I wrote my last review for them! We came here today for brunch and were seated in the back. It's a small room near the restrooms which wasn't my favorite but my fiance was starving so we took what was first available. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. I ordered the brisket hash and he had the breakfast burrito. The hash was great and hit the spot- I wouldn't say it's something I'll crave but it was good. The burrito was massive and packed with the perfect ratio of filling, the only downfall was that the eggs were underseasoned and it came with a really small cup of salsa that left you begging for more.

I love how this diner bakes their own baked goods! From the biscotti given with their coffee, biscuits on sandwiches, breads, croissants, muffins, cookies etc- all made in house and are so delicious. I really appreciate restaurants that have a homemade vibe vs using processed/packaged ingredients. We went on a Friday late morning and there was a 5-10 minute wait for a table. We ordered the biscuit breakfast sandwich, avocado toast on seeded bread with salmon, and lemon ricotta pancakes. To go, we took an oat bran muffin, zucchini bread, and chocolate chip cookie- all delicious! The biscuit was buttery and tasty and the lemon ricotta pancakes were delicious and perfect amount of lemon flavor. The avocado toast with the seeded bread was for health lol the seeded bread is gluten free and not your standard piece of toast fyi! I still ate it all! Service was so friendly and you can tell everyone was in a great mood! I would come again!

The food selection is great. A lot of seating inside or out. The food was delicious and was a great opinion for a late brunch. The atmosphere is You would order first and then grab a seat. 4/5

I miss my old neighborhood "...Coming home after school Flying my bike past the gates of the factories My mom doing the laundry Hanging out shirts in the dirty breeze And after it rains there's a rainbow... Everything's the same back in my little town" Paul Simon I miss being able to walk to my favorite restaurants. Walking to a movie theater to see the latest show on a whim was such a simple pleasure. Sunrise Bistro is one of those places I cherished where you can get a well made - home made breakfast - the kind your mom used to make you on Saturday morning while you watched your favorite cartoons. Alisha took the time to seat me in an area of the restaurant that was a bit more quite and less rushed. She is the star of this review. Thank you Alisha. And ooohhhhh those Lemon Ricotta pancakes... RICHARD'S SPECIAL $16.95 Two eggs any style, two pancakes, Canadian and Lemon Ricotta pancakes. There are other variations if you fancy. Everything was perfectly cooked. Nothing in the preparation seemed rushed. Matt says if you find yourself in Downtown Walnut Creek and you are doing some shopping at Nordstrom or Macy's be sure to drop by Sunrise Bistro for a breakfast experience you won't forget. And be sure to say "hey" to Alisha.

Ask the Community - Sunrise Bistro

Do they serve gluten-free pancakes or gluten-free waffles?

They do, but they use the same pans as gluten containing foods to make them, so if you're concerned about cross contamination they aren't safe for celiacs.

What are brunch hours on weekdays? Weekends?

    7:00am-3:00pm every day

Do they offer brunch daily or just on weekends?

Daily. It's a hybrid of order at the counter and they serve you by table number.

    Do they have bottomless mimosas?

I dont think so. Sad to say but, Its not the type of place you want bottomless mimosa's. It has a older starbucks/taqueria vibe. You have to order at a walk up counter, you get somewhat rushed to place an order, then you are given a number and you…

When will Sunrise Bistro be open for indoor dining?

Well I was just there and there aren't even and tables inside so I think nothing is planned. Outdoor eating there is very nice

Has this place reopened for outdoor seating?

Yes! They are open for outdoor seating.

Is this restaurant open for outdoor dining on their patio?

Just went last weekend and it still looks to be pickup/delivery only.

When I called the phone number to place an order it goes to their catering business line and you cant order from there so I don't know what's going on?

I'm not sure either but the phone does in fact a ring to their catering service. It's a small family owned business and I suspect it's all one phone line. I received a call back immediately following a message I had left, but this was regarding…

We stopped in for breakfast and had a couple of iced lattes, the veggie hash (definitely add bacon), and the French toast. Both dishes were fantastic. One of the best things about this place is how they adapt the menu--the French toast changes based on whatever fruit is currently in season, keeping it light and flavorful. The staff here is consistently amazing, too. No pretension at all, excelle Always a great experience at Main Street Kitchen. We ordered two iced lattes, the veggie hash with bacon, and the French toast, and everything was delicious. I love that their French toast rotates with seasonal fruits so it's always fresh and light. The reason I rated my visit 4 stars is because after I ordered my sandwich, my food server asked if I wanted fries or a salad with my sandwich without letting me know there's a charge for both sides. I thought the fries or salad went with the sandwich and I was surprised to see a $6 charge on my bill. I told my food server I thought the fries or salad went with my sandwich and I wanted the $6 charge removed, he said he'd have to ask his manager. The manager came to my table to talk to me and I told him what I stated earlier. He asked me if I looked at the menu because it showed the $6 charge for fries or a salad. I thought that question was obvious and unnecessary. The manager took the $6 charge off of my bill. I think the food server should have mentioned there was a $6 charge for the fries or salad because he's more familiar with the charges than I am. It will be a while before I return to Main Street Kitchen & Bar because of this situation.

The next time we DoorDashed, the Chilaquiles. I'm glad we shared it because the portion was huge. It was also amazing. They made their own tortilla chips, which makes such a difference, and it had a big chunk of slow cooked short rib, egg, green chili sauce, and a generous portion of toppings like guacamole, jalapeño and sour cream. On the side was refried beans with cheese and some delicious fried potatoes, I should've taken a picture. It was a little pricey, but definitely enough for two unless you have a really big appetite. I'm writing this review because I don't understand why the reviews are not better for this place. The food is so good! I will have to go in person one day cause it sounds like the service is great too.
