Best grass fed ever! So fresh and flavor is on point! I work in the mall and this is the healthiest, best tasting option we have. Culinary integrity at its finest!

It has been a long LONG time since I really enjoyed a meal here. In the past 2 yrs, my visits have been less and less, ea time getting worse. Came here back in June and it was definitely the B team working that night. My favorite edamame dumplings soggy. However, they fully redeemed themselves yesterday. I had low expectations. I wanted something healthy after eating so much junk on vacation. The menu was new. Seated outside in the shaded patio. Server was great. The Bright Eyes (beet, ginger, orange juice), sourdough Pizza Spinach Mushroom, and Corn soup caught my eyes. Food came out at a decent time. It was love at first bite. The crust was chewy like an Italian pizza crust. The ricotta almond cheese and taijin sprinkled onto with sautéed onions, mushrooms hit the spot. Corn soup was just delicious. Blended roasted corn flavor with its natural sweetness. The beet juice was so refreshing. I felt it gave me clear skin afterwards. Didn't feel bloated or overly stuffed afterwards too. I had absolutely NO complaints on a gorgeous pie skied day at the Creek. Whatever TFK did, keep it up! I'll be back more for sure!

    Peach and raspberry crumble

The place is bright and very inviting. Plenty of space between tables and decor is very earthy chic. A long row of snake plants were used to divide the dining areas. I also like the open kitchen view. Staff is very friendly. The Jambalaya had just the right kick and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The hummus was a hefty serving and the pita crackers were crisp. Salad was great although probably needed a little more dressing. The crumble was pretty unique to me as the raspberry peach part was more like a puree rather than baked. The crumble and the ice cream definitely made it better.

I used to love coming here and I haven't been in a while. I was disappointed with my burger and fries. Fries were soggy and the burger was not great. I used to love everything that I tried here. The service was good yesterday as we had a large party but the food was subpar. The all American the patty was so small all I saw was lettuce even when I opened the burger it was so small. I was so surprised because the quality used to be on point.

Ive been here a couple times for lunch, and love the interior and outdoor seating. Unfortunately our last visit was not our favorite. The waiter who helped us was not the friendliest, and would leave us alone for quite a while, making us unable to ask for things we wanted during our meal. We tried the sourdough pizza and unfortunately the dough was a bit raw in the middle. I got the avocado toast and their iced coffee drink. The coffee was delicious and the eggs were great. Unfortunately the avocado toast was a bit too spicy for me. I got the kale salad on the side, which is my absolute fav! Ive had some good experiences here, and will probably be back to give it another try!

Food was great, again. Bryan was great. Music was great. Lunch special was great. The new parking garage access makes getting here much easier.

Korean Noodle Bowl, V with salmon
    Dave D.

The place is modern and clean. The service is just ok. They did their job but never checked on us. The food is mid. The Korean noodle bowl was ok but no better than the Trader Joe's japchae. The salmon was actually decent but $12 for a small chunk of fish. The ancient grain bowl was tasteless and the first chicken was bone dry (even though it's drenched with a nasty mystery sauce). I sent the chicken back and they replaced it with a slightly more edible version. Overpriced and mediocre.

    Charred Cauliflower

True Food Kitchen used to be a bastion for health-focused yet delicious food, but the quality of this chain restaurant has deteriorated. The eclectic menu features a variety of globally-inspired flavors, and we ordered from all over the map. To start, the Mediterranean Hummus was a chickpea purée topped with spicy herb sauce and red pepper pistachio spread, served with baked flatbread crackers. The lemony hummus didn't have much tahini and turned out rather grainy (not my favorite). A better appetizer was the Charred Cauliflower, florets coated in a spicy, creamy harissa tahini, along with dates, pistachios, and herbs. The Spicy Penang Curry was a tangy spiced shellfish curry broth served with regenerative black rice, sweet potato, bok choy, rainbow carrots, snap peas, and onions--decent though not particularly authentic. The Spinach and Wild Mushroom Pizza was roasted mushrooms, spinach, and cheese baked on a thin, crispy sourdough flatbread, topped with lemon almond ricotta, but the pizza was rather bland and flavorless. The True Crisp'd Tender Plate came with lightly breaded air-fried chicken tenders served with kale salad; and my favorite dish was the Seasonal Market Salad, made of mixed greens, roasted carrots, roasted cauliflower, pistachios, dates, and feta, dressed with a creamy tahini apple cider vinaigrette. We topped the refreshing salad off with a filet of arctic salmon, which was dry and overcooked. Overall, the food here was rather average and not worth going out of the way for--disappointing, as I was once quite impressed by the quality and flavors here.

Came for Mother's Day, it was ok. Service was good. However food portion sizes sucked. The dumplings came with 5??? And they forgot my kale salad. Free parking in the Broadway plaza parking lot for 3 hours

Ancient grain bowl - Vegetarian(added tofu)
    Divya S.

Loved the ancient grain salad bowl - vegetarian friendly and I added tofu for extra protein. The salad was super filling and nourishing. Loved the pesto sauce dressing that came with it. The restaurant has huge dining space, will try to eat there next time instead of takeout.

First of all, it's in downtown Walnut Creek, so you already know it's in a fun, lively area--right in the shopping district, which is always a plus. The space is great: huge indoor seating and a fairly large outdoor patio as well. We actually sat outside, and it seemed dog-friendly--we saw a few pups hanging out, which was cute. The food honestly surprised me (in a good way). The menu leans more health-conscious, but everything we tried was really good and didn't feel like "health food" at all. We ordered one of their sourdough flatbreads, which was hands-down my favorite--crispy, cheesy, and delicious. I'm a pizza-and-carbs person, so it totally hit. My husband ordered a pasta dish (I think it was jambalaya- or gumbo-inspired), which was also really good, but the flatbread stole the show for me. We also got fries (because always) and shared a fresh-squeezed juice, which was refreshing and well balanced. Service was top-notch, food came out quickly, and the overall vibe was immaculate. Everything just felt easy, relaxed, and enjoyable. Definitely a spot I'd come back to--especially to try more of their flatbreads.

Margarita pizza Butternut squash pizza with kale toppling Glass noodles
    Raman C.

Ordered the Bright Eye Refresher and really enjoyed it--very refreshing, light, and not overly sweet. A great, feel-good drink. We also tried two pizzas, which were okay overall. On the butternut squash pizza, the kale topping wasn't cooked well and was hard to chew, which made it difficult to eat. The glass noodles were tasty, but the portion felt quite small for the price. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and appreciated that they kindly split the glass noodles into two bowls for us.Overall, a pleasant experience with room for improvement.

    Teriyaki Quinoa Bowl,
    Dominique G.

Very average tasting food. I got the teriyaki bowl with chicken after seeing that one had the most consistent positive reviews but I was disappointed. I ate here for the convenience but I wouldn't come here intentionally as it's not worth it. Service was good and the overall vibe of the restaurant is nice though.

Are there fully organic meals for those who want/need food and practices to be free from pesticides, GMO's, etc.?

Absolutely. The quality of the food is impressive. The restaurant was founded by Dr. Weil who is a doctor who is focused on anti-inflammatory meals. The food is carefully made and of excellent quality.

Do you have gluten free options?

    Yes, they do.

Does the chocolate cake have melted molten chocolate in the middle when you cut into it?

No, it does not. However, it is served with a scoop of vegan ice cream and caramel, as well as coco nibs.

Is proof of vaccination still required?

    No.

I have tried many dishes but my favorite was still the quinoa burger. When will you bring back the quinoa burger?

    Is it dog friendly?

Yes the outside patio (which is covered) is dog friendly. When I was there, someone had two of those huge dogs with dread locs.

Is this a dog friendly restaurant?

The outside seating is dog friendly.

Does the restaurant offer Whole30 options?

The last time I did whole30, they could not accommodate me at all. It was super disappointing. They say they can on the website, but in real life the waitstaff could not do anything for me at all.

Where did the quinoa burger go?

Are you open for outdoor dining yet?

This Wednesday we will be open for outdoor dining. As of now, you can order Togo and sit outside but there isn’t any service yet.…

The reason I rated my visit 4 stars is because after I ordered my sandwich, my food server asked if I wanted fries or a salad with my sandwich without letting me know there's a charge for both sides. I thought the fries or salad went with the sandwich and I was surprised to see a $6 charge on my bill. I told my food server I thought the fries or salad went with my sandwich and I wanted the $6 charge removed, he said he'd have to ask his manager. The manager came to my table to talk to me and I told him what I stated earlier. He asked me if I looked at the menu because it showed the $6 charge for fries or a salad. I thought that question was obvious and unnecessary. The manager took the $6 charge off of my bill. I think the food server should have mentioned there was a $6 charge for the fries or salad because he's more familiar with the charges than I am. It will be a while before I return to Main Street Kitchen & Bar because of this situation.

After waiting quite a while for someone to come to our table, we finally placed our drink order. I ordered a cappuccino and asked for sugar. When it didn't come, I reminded our server. She still did not bring it. I waited roughly 15 to 20 minutes, long enough for my cappuccino to get cold, before I had to physically get up and ask someone else to find our server. Only after reminding her again was the sugar finally brought over. It then took another 30 to 40 minutes for someone to come take our actual food order. Our server was unfriendly, disengaged, and gave the impression that she simply did not want to be there. There was no warmth, no apology for the delays, and no effort to check in or improve the experience. The food was also disappointing. Other than the pizza, most of what we ordered either arrived lukewarm or simply did not taste good. Between the poor service, the long waits, and the underwhelming food, the entire meal felt careless from start to finish. I understand restaurants can have difficult days, but this was not just a small delay or one missed item. It was a consistently poor experience throughout the visit, and frankly, not what I would expect from Main Street Kitchen.

Our group of 3 sat outside in their lovely side alleyway and feasted on 6 delicious shared small plates plus their scrumptious dessert sampler. This was plenty of food for all of us, although I might have been able to force down one more small plate since everything was so delectable. We ordered: -- Cacio e pepe biscuit -- Esquites (Mexican street corn) -- Empanadas -- Tacos al pastor -- Ceviche tostadas -- Alaskan black cod The black cod dish was seriously incredible and a standout amid the other wonderful dishes. The waiter mentioned it had been on their menu for 22 years and that people traveled there to try it. I can believe it! Speaking of service, it was exceptional. Along with our friendly main waiter, there were other staff refilling water glasses and changing table settings quickly as needed. We waited on nothing but also never felt interrupted. Since Va da Vi IS a wine bar, I should mention that wine was also wonderful. I tried their Pinot Noir flight and enjoyed all 3 of the 3 oz samplings, especially the 2023 Status Quo and the 2023 "Klee" by Roots Wine Co. Is it pricey? Well, a little, but not for the quality. I've eaten at places just as expensive and left far less satisfied.
