I met an old family friend for dinner on Tuesday, St. Patty's Day, and I was very mixed in the experience. The food was delicious! We got the sweet and spicy cauliflower bites, the short rib wontons, and short rib sliders.oh my goodness so good. However, that were my praise stops. When we were seated, the guy gave us the dinner menu and said enjoy, when our waiter came over, he said they weren't serving dinner, only the small bites. Ok?!?! Our server kept saying that they were normally not open on Tuesday's, which is why the full menu wasn't available. Our server never introduced himself and I got his name once the check was set down; Artur. He was very cute to look at, but outside of that, not really much else happening. But he did mention two more times that they were normally closed on Saturday's, which made me check Google Maps. Due to them, they are closed in Monday's and open on Tuesday. This place occupies the old Opa restaurant on North Main with some nice upgrades. We were there on Saturday night and all the staff was nice including Greg the owner whom sat down and spoke with us at one point. We started with cocktails which were original and excellent. Followed with a rhon wine from an extensive wine list. Menu and Food. The menu is broad ranging and ambitious. May seem unfocused but i can assure you that it's intentional and well thought out. There is Indian curry, ceviche, lamb chops, great salads. All was on the table and worked together. It was all fresh, imaginative and very well executed. It was also not very busy on a Saturday night as of January 2026. There are lots of great restaurants in WC. Put this one in your rotation. read more

As promised, we did come back to try out their dinner - even though it took us six months! The owners Greg and Seffie were both there and welcomed us like old friends! It was a Friday night and the place was bustling (even in rainy weather!) as they had a live singer. The cocktail scene was busy. There were five of us. We ordered cocktails (excellent) and truffle fries (awesome!), cauliflower bites (delicious!) and the Mediterranean platter (ok). For entree, we had wild cod (fresh!), fish and chips, lamb chops and butter chicken naan tacos with signature fries. Each item was perfectly cooked and delicious. The signature fries were different than the truffle fries and, better IMHO! Decent size servings, we took one taco home that my grandson enjoyed the next day! The chef came out twice to ensure everything was exactly right. That is pride! At our request, he did bring out a superb hot jalapeño sauce. Greg, the bartender, and the server kept a close eye on us and fresh plates and cutlery came with every course. We didn't have much space left for dessert but on hearing that we were celebrating an anniversary, they brought out a slice of Tiramisu with a candle! Nice touch. We will be back to try other dishes. I've kept meaning to drop by WC kitchen & bar since they opened and finally decided to have lunch here with my mother. I unfortunately ordered the cod. The rice wasn't fresh and was clumped like it had been sitting in a container for some time. The veggies weren't fully cooked and were covered in an odd sweet glaze, and although the cod was seasoned well, it was a cheap cut of fish disguised by a sour unpleasant sauce. The seating options were almost entirely high top, which could be inaccessible to some, and the glasses just weren't well chosen - the water glasses were more similar to whiskey glasses with a short straw and the mocktail glass kept threatening to slip out of my hand due to condensation because it was really a stemless wine glass. All in all, the service was helpful and prompt but the food was so low quality that I just don't plan to return. read more

I really was excited to try this new restaurant but am hoping the restaurant is just starting out and still getting the menu and food correct. Sharing this only to help the restaurant improve! 1. First impression: we were offered a table right beside the front door in the sun, when there were plenty of better options in the back that were quieter and had less foot traffic. This left a bad taste in my mouth as a first impression - wouldn't you offer your guests the best options first? That was a bit odd. 2. The restaurant is extremely cramped. From a comfort perspective, tables are placed way too close together and it does not become an intimate setting for dining. Had there been (loud) live music, I could hear conversations of neighboring tables, clearly. 3. On live music, which was played when we went, it was way too loud. I get people want the music but it left no way for me to hear or have a conversation. 4. Presentation of the food was fine. Taste of it was concerning. As a dipping sauce for wontons, was that low sodium soy sauce? I was just appalled by how low of an effort was made with the appetizers. Nothing remarkable about the entrees. Some of the lamb chops were cooked well others were a little overcooked I really share this to help WC kitchen and bar succeed! It's very tough competition out in the restaurant business of downtown WC! My opinions only. read more

Fantastic spot in Walnut Creek! The vibe is awesome, great music on the playlist, and fun live music too! The food is great. The lamb pops were exquisite. The temperature on them was perfect. The WC Salmon was great and had an amazing sauce on them. The caprese salad was tasty, and the truffle fries were nice and crispy with a good dipping sauce. The wine list and cocktail menu are eclectic and have a lot of good single glass options. The Malbec and Pinot options are nice. The staff is super helpful and very attentive to your needs. Nicolas the bartender is top notch! Ernesto the chef came out and said hi and asked how our food was which was really cool. The owners also came by and talked with us to see how our experience was. This place just opened in Walnut Creek and it was very good! The drinks were made perfectly and we tried the "Alyssa" and the espresso martini (but with the cognac option instead of vodka) and it was strong and tasty!! It was dark dark! The bartender Nick was very accommodating when we sat at the bar. My friend and I shared the caviar deviled eggs on salad and presentation was on point! Then we shared the lambchops and it was a perfect amount for two. Seasoning was perfect on mashed potatoes and asparagus! My cognac was served on a large cube and it just made the experience even better! The owners came over to welcome us and they were a pretty awesome couple!! We had such a memorable experience at WC Kitchen & Bar in Walnut Creek. We initially made a reservation for Thursday night through OpenTable, but when we arrived, the restaurant was hosting a private event and had inadvertently not updated their availability. While that could have been disappointing, Arturo--who greeted us right away--completely turned the situation around. He was incredibly apologetic, recommended a great spot just down the block for that evening, and genuinely encouraged us to come back the next night. We were in town on a work trip and Friday was our last night, but Arturo's kindness and the menu alone convinced us to rebook--and I'm so glad we did. When we arrived for our 7:00 PM reservation on Friday, Arturo was ecstatic to see us and welcomed us back with such warmth. He even brought us a complimentary drink, which was fantastic. Shortly after, Greg, the owner, stopped by our table to personally apologize for the scheduling mishap from the night before. We had a wonderful conversation, and he made us feel truly welcomed. We started with the mango ceviche and a Caesar salad, both of which were excellent and arrived just before our entrées. My husband ordered the wild cod, and I had the WC short ribs--both dishes were outstanding. Throughout the evening, both Arturo and Greg checked in on us, which made the entire experience feel personal and genuine. To top it all off, Arturo recommended the molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert, which we ordered to go. I'm so glad we did--it was rich, indulgent, and absolutely delicious. WC Kitchen & Bar has a perfect location on Main Street, just a block from our Airbnb. Greg mentioned that during warmer months they open the doors and windows and feature live music, which we could easily picture while sitting there. We visit the area regularly and can confidently say this will be a must-stop every time we're in town. Great new spot in downtown Walnut Creek! New restaurants often need some time to work out the kinks, but having been open less than a week, WC is already off to a strong start. We took Rufus with us, because he's the connoisseur of all things new and hip. They were playing a nice eclectic selection of music, popular 90's (my jam), some 80's, some older classics, and some newer stuff, but all good, and upbeat. One of my biggest pet peeves is going to a restaurant and listening to downer music. None of that here, thank you! We tried the caviar deviled eggs, the curry angel hair pasta with shrimp, and the curried chicken salad. Everything was tasty. Drink-wise, their lavender drop is delicious, definitely try this. They have a very respectable, reasonably-priced wine list. Dominic was absolutely lovely, looking forward to seeing him at our next visit. The owner was very nice too, and we appreciate him checking in on us. We'll be back soon, and wish WC much success. read more

Saw this opened 2 days ago and here we are. On the corner of Main and Lincoln where Opa once was. Upon entering we were greeted by a hostess and let her know we were going to sit at the bar. Interesting bar shape reminds me of a malformed horseshoe. Seats about 12 with only room for one bartender and that was Dominic. All the tables have nice white table cloths, purple napkins and the skinniest handled utensils I have ever seen. Looks like the place seats about 66 on the tables. I really like the contrasting white table cloths with black chairs. Mr. fashion police comment. We dropped in on a Thursday afternoon and it had a steady stream of people at tables and the bar. It's an inside place but all the sides open up to the outside giving it a very open airy feeling. There are rails to keep out the DubC randos. Speaking of the DubC, they obviously know a percentage of their clientele with 6 Chardonnays on the menu along with Sauv Blancs and Pinot Grigio. I get it, I know a cougar needs to drink. For food we started with caviar deviled eggs, curry angel hair pasta with shrimp, and curry chicken salad. All excellent. Another plus is the up beat music track. No downer pop. All upbeat. The owner came out and said hi which is always nice. So a very nice addition to the downtown DubC and we will be back. Probably tomorrow. read more

Stopped by this place with 2 girlfirends on a Saturday evening for apps and drinks. We ordered the Truffle fries, Udon noodles (vegetarian), Shrimp Penne, and Tuna Tartare. Food was good though we felt the truffle fries could have used a bit more truffle. A little on the subtle side for us. My girlsfriends liked their food. The best part were the drinks and service. Very friendly staff and drinks were very tasty! I loved my Lychee martini! Not too sweet and balanced! My girlfriends were impressed by the wine selection! FLOWERS? WHISPERING ANGEL? I had recently seen an article for this newly opened restaurant at the former space Opa once occupied. I rolled in about 11am shortly when it opened for a quick bite, I was greeted by a friendly hostess and I slid up to the Bar for lunch. I had ordered a Rye Whiskey Sour and it was made by the Bartender Dominic. I had an appointment at the Gym so I ordered a Smash Burger with a small salad with vinegrette. The drink was good and I chatted up drink recipes with the Manager and Bartender. The Burger was good and the rest of the menu has sandwich, salads and plenty of options. Their HH will be in effect soon and it looks like they have a solid list of Wines and Bubbles along with a full Bar. Definitely will be back to try more of their menu along with a few co workers for a round of Espresso Martinis or Old Fashions and some bites. read more

We first tried this place about a month ago, and it was so good that we've already been back two more times since. Every visit has been consistently excellent. From the moment you walk in, the restaurant feels clean, modern, and welcoming, with a great corner location that adds to the overall vibe. We ordered several dishes and every single one delivered. The Steak Diane was cooked exactly to the temperature requested, not over, not under, which is always appreciated. The braised beef short ribs were incredibly tender and flavorful, with a rich, well-balanced sauce. The spaghetti and meatballs had a classic, traditional taste, and the pasta was perfectly al dente. The sauces on both meat dishes were excellent. Service was another highlight. The staff was fast, attentive, and genuinely personable, you really feel taken care of every time. Wish I had taken more pictures, but we were way too eager to eat, there will definitely be a next time, guaranteed. Overall, amazing food, great service, and a beautiful space. Thomas also hyped up Juan the bartender. We had dinner reservations for 6:00p on a Sunday (didn't need them). The place was empty except for 2 people sitting at the bar and there was only one employee working the front doing all the seating, waiting and bartending. I ordered a Last Word cocktail and got something that was not it. So I sent it back and settled for a Racer 5 on tap. I'm not sure the one employee was really a bartender. Juan wasn't there. And now I don't trust Thomas... Food was meh. Anyway, we won't be back, ever. read more

What a gem in Walnut Creek! We had an amazing dining experience at WC Kitchen and Bar. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed -- we even had the pleasure of meeting the owners, Gregory and his lovely wife (who I'm sure will see this -- hello again! ). Head Chef Ernesto came by to share his background and passion for food, and you can taste it in every bite. We started with the mango ceviche, a special recipe of Ernesto's -- super fresh and bursting with flavor. For appetizers, I had the chicken tikka masala flatbread -- tasty, though I'd love to try it on naan next time. For my main, I went with the Jake's Steak Curry -- WOW. Beef tenderloin cooked perfectly, tender and rich with bold curry flavor. My partner ordered the WC Short Ribs, and they were fall-off-the-bone amazing. Terrible experience. Lost my reservation on Valentine's Day. They were able to seat us. Service terrible for our table and everyone around us. Male waiter and bar tender tried to cover for the most clueless female waitress. Very soft spoken. Had to chase her down for everything. Steak knife, dessert forks, water, etc. Potato soup excellent. Salmon had strange horseradish sauce. Rib eye was very fat. Desserts good. After 7 months service issues need to be resolved now. read more

So many good restaurant choices in Walnut Creek to choose from. While searching, came across WC kitchen. Looks like it's a new place with not a lot of reviews or pictures yet. Their menu prices appeared to be reasonable but drink prices are high. We had an early dinner at 530pm. Figured we give them a try since they are new and before their prices goes up after they get established. Only complaint is their wc mango ceviche. Needs more flavoring!! Plenty of pieces of fish and mango. Besides more flavoring, my only suggestion would be to cut the mango and onion into small pieces. Either smaller than the fish or equal to the fish. The beef short ribs and jakes beef curry are delicious! Packed with tasty flavoring!! Small plates though. The place is very clean and nice high top table seating facing the windows if it was a nice sunny hot day! Oh and one last thing. The chef came out and made sure everything was good. Best part was that he wasn't dressed for the part. You would expect him to have a white chef's hat with a white chef's uniform. Very disappointing experience. I visited on Sunday evening (2/22) and was immediately greeted by a bartender who was visibly rude and unwelcoming. She had an unpleasant expression from the moment we walked in, which set the tone right away. My partner and I sat down and waited over 10 minutes without being acknowledged. The restaurant was not busy at all, there was only one table of patrons and one person at the bar so there was no clear reason for the lack of service. We were ready to order both food and drinks, but since no one came to take our order or even check in with us, we decided to leave. As we were exiting, I let the bartender know we would be leaving. Instead of apologizing or acknowledging the situation, she gave me a dirty look and simply said, "Alright, bye." There was no sympathy or apology for the complete lack of service, as if they were entitled to our patronage and we were in the wrong for leaving. It was disappointing because we were genuinely looking forward to spending our evening there. Customer service makes a huge difference, and unfortunately this experience made us feel unwelcome and we question if we should even go back. For the record, our first visit was exceptional and the bartender Arturo provided excellent, attentive service and outstanding drinks. The return visit was very, very disappointing. read more

Stopped in to the new WC Kitchen for Happy Hour yesterday! I was very impressed overall. They have done a great job updating the old Opa space (miss you Opa! ) to feel light and modern. Also loved the music they had playing- so fun! Perfect playlist for a night out. The owner of the restaurant was there and very attentive to everyone there- ensuring everyone had an excellent experience. The menu is very eclectic and at first glance I was not sure about it BUT after seeing dishes come out everything looked amazing! We stuck to the Happy Hour menu. The lavender drop was a very pretty drink but sweet (even when asked to be less sweet). The cauliflower bites were perfectly roasted and in a light sweet and spicy vinegar sauce. The spice balances the sweet well. We debated in the ceviche or the short rib wontons but went Roth wontons. Perfectly crisp exterior and stuffed with tender short rib accompanied by a soy vinegar sauce. I definitely want to come back and try more. read more
