Quesabirria tacos is legit yummy. Friendly staff. Complimentary chips & salsa is delicious and free! Will have to try again and check out their happy hour menu.

    Sadly dissatisfied

Kids quesadilla was a definitely a winner!!!! But this is my second time at Cantina Jack's, and sadly this place constantly leaves me with "buyers remorse". The space is beautiful and I'm sure the food is delicious to their target demographic, I guess I'm just not it. But the space is always packed, especially on the weekends. The food is extremely bland, truly lacks flavor. It doesn't even compare to the old school chevy's flavors. Today I ordered the fajita skillet, presentation was fine, but the shrimp were over cooked and the pinto beans were disappointing. I also ordered a Paloma, but the drink was overrun by the alcohol, so I switched to a Bellini. It arrived served in a champagne flute as opposed to a small wine glass and gave sugary, syrupy and premade mix. Maybe it's not premade, but it's definitely not giving "fresh" Bellini. It's also not giving Bellini, it's giving syrupy mimosa. We sat near the window to take in the fresh air and ended up be surrounded by parents using our window to place their children outside. And parents yelling across dinning tables at their children outside of the open windows. I know this is going to read as I'm bashing the space, which I am not!!!! The community truly loves this space and the flavors, it's just not for me. But don't allow my experience to deter you. Please try it, the kidddos definitely love it!

The ambiance is heavenly. It transports you to as soon as you enter. The menu is comprehensive and full of tempting dishes. The food is always good. Service is courteous. And prices are reasonable.

This place never disappoints me. I come to this place a lot since the place is near my job. This time I came in with 5 other friends for a Christmas gift exchange. We order drinks , it was busy so drinks took a while to arrive to our table. Then we order food, we order a queso fundido to start and of course the free chips and salsa that are amazing kept coming cuz them soo soo good :) Finally we order our entrees and another round of drinks. Service was good, and the ambience is always fun and friendly. The young manager is also really nice and always makes sure we are fine. I will keep coming back :)

Cantina Jack's is located in the heart of the Downtown Pleasant Hill shopping center. I met a group of friends here to celebrate a belated birthday for one of them on 05/28/2025. My friends had already gotten a table when I walked in at around 5:30pm. Being this was my first time here, I was immediately struck by the beautiful interior. The color scheme was vibrant, and the natural sunlight gave the room a warm and welcoming feel. There was a large bar area with TVs showing different sporting events. Occupancy was about 90% full, which gave the room a lively atmosphere. A trio of starters, along with complimentary chips and salsa, were already on the table when I sat down. The starters - Carne Asada Sopes, Ceviche, and Queso Fundido, were all very good. Out of the trio, I liked the Ceviche the best. The seafood was fresh, and the taste was light and tangy. Our original plan was to order some HH tacos, but our server failed to take our order prior to the 6pm cutoff time. One of my friends thought she did that on purpose just so we have order from the regular menu (in order to get a bigger tip). I ended up getting the Sizzling Chicken Fajitas. While it tasted alright, they were stingy on the chicken. I only saw five or six pieces of it. Service was subpar. Our server was friendly but inattentive. Not only she failed to take our HH order prior to the cutoff time, she also didn't check on us during the meal. I had to flag her down once for refill, and another time the manager actually had to do her job for her. It was most disappointing. The total, with T/T, was north of $200. Honestly, the overall experience left a sour taste in my mouth. Return trip extremely unlikely. 2 stars.

First time here. We go next door a lot. But wanted to try the others jacks location and it did not disappoint. The wait was 30 minutes but well worth it. Once we were seated the place is fun, friendly and great atmosphere. Service was spot on. Very attentive and helpful. Recommended dishes and it was amazing. We will come back with more people.

It's definitely a different style of Mexican food. The Carne Asada Fajitas lacked depth and flavor. It was just chewy tasteless steak with very little onions and peppers. For $26 I expected better. Very little quac and sour cream. Refried black beans? They were ok. The rice definitely isn't homemade. The quesabirria tacos were decent. Salsa was different. They were training a runner and she was basically walking dishes table to table asking patrons if it was theirs. We love Jacks but the jury is out on Cantina Jacks. Maybe we will try happy hour.

Would have been a 2.5 star for the ceviche but the hostess was a doll so I'll go 3. I was on a business trip and ordered take out. The ceviche was amazing. One of the best I've ever had. Seriously. I got lamb tacos. I always love a fresh tortilla but it fell apart completely by the time I reached my room across the street. Homemade should hold up. The margarita was pretty good, perfectly strong but overly pricey. I also ordered a side of beans also expensiv, it would had been worth it, they were tasty, if they weren't dried out. Good thing work bought my dinner lol That hostess, sweetheart and great customer service. I didn't catch her name but she said she loved mine. Tall, thin young lady with huge personality. You have a real winner in her, she should be serving!

Arrived at happy hour (3-6 pm)and they have some great bargains on delicious tacos and draft beers and cocktails. I had two carnitas and one shrimp tacos, hot, fresh and yummy. The little woman had a cheese enchilada combo plate she thoroughly enjoyed, pinto beans, rice and tortillas included Busy, loud inside with tall ceilings. They have outside seating for the good weather. House salsa (almost like a tomato soup) with hot salty chips complementary. I will return for further menu sampling.

We had family visiting and decided to bring them to Cantina Jacks. We showed up expecting the restaurant to be empty on a Wednesday night, well.... we were wrong. Every table was full. The seating hostess let us know that it would be a 15-20 minute for a table. So we decided to wait, and were called in less than 5. We got a couple drinks, chips and salsa, carne asada bowl, carne asada burrito, pork tacos and the children's taco. All delicious, comforting and an overall great experience.

Cantina Jack's has the best chips and salsa. Their black beans are not vegan and their pinto are, and they're both delicious. Love the variety of tacos (they even have a Greek lamb one as a nod to their Jack's Restaurant concept). Service is always fast, and you get 10% off when you order online for takeout!

I've been here ao many times, and they never disappoint. I enjoyed everything, from the chips and salsa, to the horchata and main dishes. I ordered the enchiladas, while my husband and daughter ordered their burrito bowls. The service was fast, as always, and the decor is pleasant to look at while waiting for the food. Big screen TVs were playing sports games. Very relaxed, yet fun atmosphere.

I will def be coming back here because the service and food was so good. If you're looking for a new spot with a neighborhood feel look no further. Try this place!!!

Well I skipped takeout and finally ate inside the restaurant on a Thursday night. I also promised…read morean update once that happened so here it is: PROS: - Service was amazing (our server was kind and accommodating in correcting a mistake I made while ordering, bless her heart!) - The atmosphere of the restaurant is slightly darker, with a lively, mature crowd, and a beautiful bar that spans the entire restaurant front to back on the side we were on (without the band), so plenty of seating (and it looks like there was still room for more tables if they needed it) - The layout of the establishment is H-shaped, with some tvs on the bar side and live entertainment on the other. You could still hear the band from the other side of the room but it was not at all loud, a good option for those with a noise level preference - The 2-man band was singing cover songs from over the decades and did a great job - I ordered the GF Frutti Di Mare in Alfredo sauce and once again my meal was delicious... the GF pasta was (again) cooked to perfection! - The meal portion size was generous, as were the seafood pieces in the dish (not stingy at all!!!) CONS: - None I stand firm in my 5 stars. This place is now a fave of mine for sure. Highly recommended!
