Almond milk tea with pearls and taro milk tea with agar pearls
    Rita W.

The kids and I have been to Mr. Green Bubble over the years, and they are a big fan! However they took away most of the items that we would normally order, such as honeydew green milk tea (the son's fave from this spot) and almond milk tea. Bummer. We normally order online, so not sure if it was just removed from the ordering platform or it's really been off the menu. The regular milk tea has somewhat a royal / earl grey-esque flavor to it, so I would normally get an oolong milk tea or mango milk tea (I'd get almond, but haven't been on the menu in months) with some kind of jelly topping. I'd also get their taro, and it comes with the pearls. The kids enjoy their Thai tea the best here. When it's really hot, they like their blended drinks and enjoy picking the flavor ice blend/smoothie here. I've tried their matcha- both regular and strawberry, but the matcha flavor was lacking. I'm sure it's there, but my personal preference is super matcha as I have trouble tasting it in normal amounts in drinks. Decent sized shop, good amount of seating. People like to study here and play some of the games they have as well. They've also switched their cups from time to time. One time the cup was rather rigid that at Target, a small piece on the bottom cracked and my drink went everywhere. So embarrassing, but luckily it wasn't much as the cup was almost empty. The next time I went to green bubble, the cup was a different one. Hmmm lol

Writing this as a review for one of the very few boba shops in down town Walnut Creek: 4/5 In general: 3/5 for overall boba shops. The taro was okay, a lot of sentiments and the boba was a bit chewy. The drink itself was on the sweeter side.

    Watermelon Juice (not recommended)

I've tried Mr. Green Bubble a number of times now and my most recent experience was not great. Upon walking in on a Saturday afternoon, it was pretty empty. There was no music playing and a line of 3 people waiting to order at the register. There was only 1 guy working the register and making drinks. Although I could hear a few more guys in the back talking. I tried ordering on the screen but they didn't have what I wanted on there so I stood in line to order. When I got to the front and asked if they had just watermelon juice (because I've seen it on the seasonal menu before). He said yes but charged me for a Watermelon Berry Float - it was $7. When I asked about it he said it was fine and he understood that I wanted juice. I waited for about 10 minutes for my drink as there were a few other drinks in front of mine understandable. I tried my drink in the car and why was it sour??? I'm not sure if the watermelon was bad or if they just add other things in there or maybe there was a miscommunication or something. It looked correct and I feel like it's hard to mess up juice, but I guess not! I was so disappointed, I spent $7 on something I can't even drink. It was too late for me to turn back as I was already on the freeway, so I just decided to take the L. The other times I've been here, I order the Super Fruit Tea. That one is pretty decent. But after my latest experience here, I don't think I'll be coming back. I don't like gambling and I sure as hell don't want to gamble on whether my drinks will be drinkable or not.

I really enjoy the regular boba milk tea. I get it 25% sweetened and I think it's perfect this way so you can still taste the tea without the drink being overly sweet. The boba is soft, chewy, and perfectly sweetened with honey. There's a screen that you order at yourself. Be aware that they automatically include a bag (for 50 cents) in your order so be sure to remove it if you don't need it. There's metered street parking in the area and there's a parking garage around the corner attached to the arts center (1st hour is free).

Purple Cloud Tea Latte w/ honey boba ($7.10) - 3.5 stars. Excellent boba, very fresh, soft, chewy. Ube syrup very artificial. Wed 2024-06-19

Cute spot, but coming in the smells are confusing, as they also serve poke, so I was getting fresh fish and savory, while expecting boba. They were somewhat busy but there was not a long wait for my order on a Wednesday (Juneteenth) at 2:30pm. I was trying to decide so the girl at the register said I can also order at the kiosks, which is a nice option because there were photos of all the drinks and I didn't have to worry about delaying a line behind me. One boba for $8.36 total. * Purple Cloud Tea Latte w/ honey boba ($7.10) - 3.5 stars Excellent boba, very fresh, soft and chewy. However, the ube was basically a sweet syrup squirted on the sides inside the cup and barely added anything to the flavor/texture except a lot of sugar.

Mr. Green bubble offers lots of wonderful and creative Boba options with snacks that are very delicious as well. We used to live in Oakland, and loved going to the location closer to the Lake in the Piedmont area. We love getting the iced tea fruit flavored drinks with fruit popping stars, overall the drinks are delicious. Lately they've come up with some very creative options as specialty drinks. We love getting their fried mushrooms as a snack, and they have lots of other options to eat as well. The parking situation was very simple in downtown Walnut Creek. But we did go in the middle of a weekday; stop by if you're in the mood for some Boba, you'll definitely enjoy the experience!

    Taro Boba Milk Tea
    Thu N.

Spacious and clean boba shop with an extensive drink and snack menu! Taro milk tea was delicious. The taro flavor is ever so slightly artificial but I still demolished it. I'm a sweet tooth but I recommend doing 50% sweetness or lower. They use non-dairy creamer, which is great for us lactose intolerant folks. Boba was cooked perfectly! Ordering is done via Snackpass tablets. Note to remove the automatic bag charge if you don't need it.

Cool spot for tea, smoothies, and light snacks. The place is clean and inviting, a small space with some indoor seating available, though the tables were a bit sticky when we visited this past weekend. The self-order kiosks add convenience for ordering. Note, around 1pm on a Sunday, they were out of egg puffs and plenty of other food items on their menu. We got the strawberry smoothie and matcha avocado smoothie, popcorn chicken (spicy level 1), and plain mochi waffle. The smoothies were super delicious, fresh tasting, and had just the right amount of sweetness, perfect for a hot day. The mochi waffle was thick and chewy with really great flavor for being "plain", didn't even need the semi-sweet sauce it came with on the side. The popcorn chicken was tasty too, juicy with a good amount of spice, and a pretty large portion size. Overall we enjoyed the chicken and waffles here, and would definitely return for those smoothies!

We found this place on yelp and someone who works at zebras recommended it. You walk in and order on the kiosk or there also was a person there to help you. The price is average for a boba drink. They did have a lot of options. There's other food options you can get as well. There's a few tables inside. The size was pretty good. We ordered a ubi drink and cookies and cream. Very good drinks . The drinks were made very fast . We had a really good experience.

    Lychee Guava Smoothie
    Jay R.

One nice thing about Mr. Green Bubble is the ability to create your own smoothies. I've tried a guava lychee concoction and it was pretty good. I'd give it a solid 4/5. The reason for the rating is that their other milk teas aren't great. Rose milk tea doesn't taste like roses and is bitter. For a boba shop, I expect their milk tea to at least be good.

Taro Boba Milk Tea with grass jelly
    Christina T.

This is the closest boba shop to my work. I like to come here for a quick fix, but definetely not the best for their drinks. However the popcorn chicken here is 5/5. I usually go with spice level 2 and get the sweet chili sauce for dipping. I like that the chicken is moist, crunch, flavorful, and the basil toppings. I tried the taro milk tea for the first time. Not the best, taste like powder and too sweet. I usually get their fresh fruit tea/ super fruit royal tea. That one is most refreshing and they put fresh sliced fruits inside. I would recommend doing 25% sweetness.

    Mango Milk Tea
    Akiko N.

In a small, simplistic beige coffee shop (think wood), you order off of an electronic system set up. The prices were okay for the place, although a little more expensive than what I'm used to. I ordered the mango milk tea, which did not taste very mango-y. I have ordered this flavor a lot at other boba places and I thought it was mediocre, almost with an appearance of a regular Thai milk tea. There was a lot of seating and the boba place did not have a long wait. However, given the price and quality of drink, I don't think I'll be going back as you can get better flavors elsewhere.

lychee green tea with lychee jelly
    Jessica J.

I've been supporting Mr. Green Bubble for 8+ years solely because of their popcorn chicken. Pre-pandemic, I would come most Fridays after work as a end of week treat. I always get popcorn chicken spicy 5 and a green tea with lychee jelly. It's been a few months since my last visit, but I noticed this time the portion size is noticeably smaller (although understandable since their original portion was massive for a steal of a price!), spicy 5 is no longer dangerously spicy (like tears streaming down my face), and the frying technique has changed (they added garlic?). The spice level and fry were the two main reasons I touted this as my favorite popcorn chicken spot. The chicken was always juicy; now it's a tad dry. And no other boba place I've tried that offers popcorn chicken takes "spicy" as seriously, which I've always appreciated. While the popcorn chicken here is still good/on par with other places, it sadly lacks the pizzazz it once had. If it's any consolation, their drink quality has remained the same (mediocre, but hits the spot). If my next experience with the chicken is similar, I will probably be searching for a new favorite.

The morning ritual is the best smoothie I've ever had. It's hard to balance health and flavor, but this was both healthy and incredible. They list the ingredients used in each smoothie, so you know all of what they contain. You can even add different boosters such as mass muscle, etc. It's located inside of a gym, to the right side of it. Don't be thrown off, you don't need a membership to enjoy the fantastic smoothies. The workers have been really sweet each time we've visited, and when we ordered via Uber it was ready upon arrival. One of the only drawbacks is how expensive it is. I also really wish that they listed their nutrition facts online. For such a health oriented company it's shocking that they don't, and especially a company of decent size. The smoothies contain dates, nuts, etc. So although they are good ingredients they can be high in fats, so it's important to know. Our smoothie also has coffee as well which we enjoy, but knowing the caffeine content would be appreciated. My last order also had huge white frozen balls that were unblended in it which was odd, I'm not quite sure what they were. If the price was lower, we would come here much more often. It is a great way to start your morning, and makes you feel fantastic afterwards.
