One odd moment was when asked for sweetness level, I replied with regular 100% and the staff member (owner??) was uneasy about it, and persuaded me to let her make it a certain way, "her way". It was good, she knows her craft but when I asked what percentage it was exactly so I would know how to order it in the future, she basically couldn't really answer the question, said some stuff and ended it which was just kinda weird lol. She also mentioned that it tastes really good with it and is her go-to, so I decided to get that as well. I also love ginger, so this was a suitable drink for me. We also ordered a lemon with mountain tea to refresh ourselves. This was customizable with other toppings so we picked the grass jelly. The staff was really kind to deliver the drinks to our table (we were sitting outside). The ginger almond milk tea was so good. Man, I am sad that this is a limited edition drink; I would love to have this on a regular basis. Near the end of the sip, I got some of the ginger pieces. There is a wall of stamp cards, which I find unique and never seen before. It sure was quite a sight. Black Milk Tea: I learned they used Earl Grey as their base, which is a huge plus for me. Located near downtown walnut creek so I believe there is only street parking, or maybe you can find some parking lots nearby/behind. The shop is pretty small, you pretty much just order and wait outside. There is outdoor seating which is nice! I ordered a large jasmine milk tea 80% sweet and less ice, no toppings (~$5.50) and got the smallest cup of milk tea... not sure if they misheard me and gave me a regular cup? But definitely not worth the price if that was the size of a large. Jasmine milk tea is my go-to drink at new boba places since it's good, basic drink to judge if the place is good or not (imo). I'm not entirely sure why this place has such high reviews. Finally managed to come here yesterday after passing by it countless times and to say I wasn't impressed is a bit of an understatement. Went in and ordered one taro milk tea with boba, one passion fruit jasmine tea with boba, and one brown sugar fresh milk with boba which doesn't allow for alterations. Mind you, I've been to many boba shops so I'm aware brown sugar milk usually has no alterations. But the main issue of my review is good lord, the girl putting in our order didn't seem to understand how to input orders for our drinks properly. For the passion fruit jasmine tea, I wanted less ice and regular sweetness per the wording on their menu. Suddenly as the order is put in, a 20% shows up. Which that doesn't seem like regular sweetness. I got concerned so I asked her why it says 20%. She says because I wanted it "less sweet". I explained to her I wanted regular sweetness. So she changed it to 50%?? What part of regular is 50%? Most boba places have it as regular or 100%? Anyways I just gave up trying to argue my case and let it be. So my boyfriend then puts in his drink order. He also said regular sweetness for his drink to which 10% showed up. Like...what? There's no way this girl has any idea what she's doing. She's possibly new but major facepalm. You can't just be working as the order taker with a manager next to you helping and still getting this weirdly messed up. Again, my boyfriend got confused but didn't say anything and so I put in our third order of the brown sugar fresh milk with boba. When it came to trying our drink, my drink was fine, nothing special. It seemed to be at the regular sweetness amount which made me confused. If low sweetness is 20%, and regular is 50%, why is regular sweetness also at 10% for the taro one. The taro one was...bad. Again, my bf ordered it as regular sweetness and I don't know if they just decided to put more artificial flavoring but the drink had so much artificial taro flavor that it was like licorice. And I thought quickly's taro milk tea was artificial. That one at least was more balanced out. I gave the brown sugar fresh milk to my mom and apparently it was so bland she had to add condensed milk on her own to make it taste like something. I decided to give this place a try due to the positive reviews. Do not be fooled, their drinks are far from postive. Ordered 3 drinks (osmanthus oolong milk tea, dongding oolong milk tea, and brown sugar assam milk tea) and their pandan egg waffles. The tea was super watered down, it tasted like sugary milk water. There was absolute no tea flavor at all. The osmanthus was just straught up water and despite the assam having black sugar I could not taste that at all. The dongding was slightly better comapred to the others and had the slightest hint of tea flavor. The pandan was ok, the flavor was there but lacking. And when we arrived, we saw full tables, and large groups of people gathered outside waiting for their drinks. In addition, the line was snaked out the door. So we took the large amount of traffic to be a good sign as to the quality of drink Li Cha offered. We decided to try the Lemon Passion Mountain Tea w/ boba. Wait time after ordering was a bit long, but not overly surprising given the large amount of pending orders from both app orders, as well as in-person patrons. Li Cha has one of their employees run outside with an order, shout out the order, and then run back inside with the order if noone shows up to claim it. It seemed a really inefficient system, and the guy running back and forth seemed extremely annoyed and quite surly. Especially at times when he shouted an order, and noone was there to claim it (mostly from online/app orders). While we could tell that the quality of the tea used was very good tea, the boba, which is the part I personally enjoy the most in a drink, was rock hard and very much NOT enjoyable! I walked in to order my drinks and it was a little confusing that there were a bunch of smaller signs with different items than the main menu. However, I can't complain about the variety of drinks and food they have. I was able to try the oolong purple yam marble milk tea and taro matcha marble milk tea. The beautiful marbling of the drink is created by putting syrup onto the sides of the cup itself and then pouring the drink part into it. It makes for a really instagrammable drink but I did find it hard to get a good mix of the flavor since much of it is stuck to the wall of the cup. The oolong purple yam matcha was very milky with little oolong taste. I worked hard to scrape off the purple yam from the sides just to give it more flavor. I probably wouldn't get that again. It's definitely pretty if that's what you're looking for. The taro matcha marble milk tea was much better. The taro flavor was very strong and I was able to get a subtle hint of the matcha. It was pretty sweet so if you don't have a huge sweet tooth, maybe ask for less sugar in yours. Overall, I enjoyed the matcha drink and will probably go back for it again. read more

However, they fail in asking questions to the customers when placing the orders and my order was not as I have expected. I was ordering my taro matcha bubble tea and completely forgot telling them the sugar level (because usually I end up getting 0-20%). The normal sugar level was too sweet for my tastebuds. And surprisingly the taro wasn't cold enough at all. I was really excited to sip on the boba, but it tasted warmer than room temperature, very watery and I couldn't even taste my taro at all in there. The matcha was stuck to the cup and I had to scratch it off the straw to get it. We got two drinks today. The wait for the drinks was fairly long, even with few customers around. I tried the signature assam black tea with crema. At first I thought the drink was bland because the creama separated from the tea, but once I mixed it a little it has a sweet creamy texture. Their normal/100% sugar was not too sweet and actually was perfect for me. Their boba topping was very nicely cooked (chewy yet still soft without being mushy), but it could use a bit more sweetness/sugar. Found this place while walking through Walnut Creek on a Sunday afternoon while shopping. The store has a very inviting store front with nice pictures of their drinks so it definitely caught our attention. While we were trying to figure out what we wanted, I realized almost everyone ahead of us ordered the Brown Sugar Fresh Milk tea so I had to give it a try, one of the people ahead of me also told me that it doesn't have caffeine-- the Assam one does. So I got that, another friend got the salted creama dongding oolong tea with boba, and chocolate creme brûlée marble milk tea. They also serve some food and egg puffs, but I did not smell any egg puffs cooking that you normally usually smell from boba places. I give it a 4 stars for the overall service and variety of the menu. The locally owned workers are so kind and friendly but it isn't your basic boba place where they have really young employees that you're used to seeing. I'm glad to see this place in its location and that they're still open during covid. But as for their boba, it's pretty good, soft, and sweet and not overcooked. But I honestly wasn't too impressed with their brown sugar boba, at the end it was hard to get the rest of my boba from the ice and $5 for a regular size is pretty pricey compared to other places. I stopped by for a quick Boba drink and snack. It wasn't busy but there was a family before me. The owners were super friendly and patient. The place seemed to be almost closing time, but I was able to order 2 egg puffs and 2 teas. I had ordered Mango and a Passion juice tea.
