Perfect egg puffs for a little treat. The egg puffs are just the way I like them, nice and crispy outside, with a soft chewy middle. Mmm delicious! Had to try the original to start; they also make several other flavors. The drinks were refreshing and tasty. One odd moment was when asked for sweetness level, I replied with regular 100% and the staff member (owner??) was uneasy about it, and persuaded me to let her make it a certain way, "her way". It was good, she knows her craft but when I asked what percentage it was exactly so I would know how to order it in the future, she basically couldn't really answer the question, said some stuff and ended it which was just kinda weird lol. Anyway, I like that they have lavender milk tea! Nice and floral, refreshing. Their black milk tea is made with earl grey which was nice and different. The boba was nice and chewy. read more

Really wanted to like this spot. The owner seemed very nice and community oriented. The drinks themselves are only so-so and pricey. We were expecting a strong matcha taste but it felt more on the bland side. The owner did ask us to let her know if the drink wasn't to our liking.. but we're kinda awkward. Giving this a 3* experience. read more

The fruit teas here are made with good quality tea and real ingredients. I didn't detect any artificial syrups. However, the value/price ratio isn't great. It was well over $8 for a *small* fruit tea with boba as a topping. If I'd upgraded to a large (the same size as is standard at most other boba shops), it would've been close to $10! Also, the boba was too firm and lacked the qq consistency. read more

Brief Summary: - Tea tastes elegant and refreshing It was winter, but we were thirsty and it was growing warmer around 3pm. I don't know much about the shopping area, but I recall one boba shop. Then as we were walking around, there was a sign propped up on one of the streets. We got curious -- and we were thirsty -- so we went there for this round. The tea place is large with tables and chairs inside and outside. The easier ordering method is by looking at the menu and choose the default options. There was also a sign below it with the limited edition seasonal menus. Knowing me, who loves limited edition drinks, decided to pick one from that list. The one I chose was the ginger with almond milk (hot) and the staff mentioned that I could add tea in it. She also mentioned that it tastes really good with it and is her go-to, so I decided to get that as well. I also love ginger, so this was a suitable drink for me. We also ordered a lemon with mountain tea to refresh ourselves. This was customizable with other toppings so we picked the grass jelly. The staff was really kind to deliver the drinks to our table (we were sitting outside). The ginger almond milk tea was so good. Man, I am sad that this is a limited edition drink; I would love to have this on a regular basis. Near the end of the sip, I got some of the ginger pieces. I thought this was nice, but if you are not fond of ginger, this might be too much ginger. The lemon mountain was very refreshing and was also our favorite. The tea here has a gentle and refreshing flavor that doesn't leave an aftertaste. For tea drinks, this would be the place I would go next time. read more

I really wanted to like this place. Ordered two drinks and a bubble waffle. Waffle took awhile as they needed to heat up the waffle iron. 2 Drinks were just OK, nothing special. Couldn't really taste the tea flavor. Boba wasn't that fresh. Overall it was like any basic boba shop - yet cost like $20 for 2 drinks after adding just boba. The pictures are deceiving. whatever you see you have to add to it to match what pictures show (various toppings). Cost could have equated to a meal somewhere. Pricey - I get it, it's the area there. read more

There are few places that welcome you as an old friend and brighten your day with a smile. Li Cha Tea is that place. Tucked in near Walnut Creek along Broadway, it's a subtle reminder of the beauty of the human existence. Echo (?) the owner, always greets people with a smile. She takes a minute to welcome you and invites you to enjoy the tea experience. Today, I enjoyed a hot Dong Ding tea with subtle roasted notes and a lovely rose Tea for later. I was in the area and I wanted to try some new milk tea place. This placed opened up on Yelp for me and I decided to give it a try. There is a wall of stamp cards, which I find unique and never seen before. It sure was quite a sight. Black Milk Tea: I learned they used Earl Grey as their base, which is a huge plus for me. I made my drink less ice and 80% sweet, which is the perfect ratio for my type of MT. Overall, the drink was not too bad. It had the flavor of the Earl grey and was not overly sweet. The boba was alright and I found nothing special about them. I can see myself coming back here again read more

Without a doubt, Li Cha Tea is the friendliest and warmest Boba Tea establishment I've ever experienced in my life. The owners go above and beyond to ensure their customers are happy with their purchase. Whenever I've witnessed a customer complaining about a drink being too sugary, or too watery, or anything less than exceptional, the staff will immediately replace the order with a new one. These two owners are on a quest to make their customers feel more like "house guests" in their very own home. What a refreshing approach to a retail environment! :) So thank you Li Cha for creating such a welcoming atmosphere to any and to all! We appreciate you so much! Saw this place on Yelp and so happened to walk by this weekend so I decided to try! Located near downtown walnut creek so I believe there is only street parking, or maybe you can find some parking lots nearby/behind. The shop is pretty small, you pretty much just order and wait outside. There is outdoor seating which is nice! I ordered a large jasmine milk tea 80% sweet and less ice, no toppings (~$5.50) and got the smallest cup of milk tea... not sure if they misheard me and gave me a regular cup? But definitely not worth the price if that was the size of a large. Jasmine milk tea is my go-to drink at new boba places since it's good, basic drink to judge if the place is good or not (imo). The drink was absolutely tasteless and watered down, I was shocked really. Even if I got a little less sweet, it shouldn't have been that flavorless. Maybe it's just a one off time but probably won't risk coming back just because there's so many other places I could go to instead!! Workers were nice so I'm not giving this place 1 star. read more

Walk to this place after world famous hot boy. My wife and I like to try boba spots we haven't been to give them a try. So she kinda orders the same flavor at most boba spots. She and I shared the taro matcha milk tea w/ boba. I'd say Presentation of the drink looks nice and the employee was very friendly. And the location was tucked off to the side with a lot of shade and tables with umbrellas perfect for a sunny hot day. But the flavor did not hit the spot. Sorta bland and nothing really catches the taste buds. Will come back to give them a second try. But for now 3 starts just for location and presentation. read more

Sinceretea was closed today, so I decided to try this place instead. I ordered an Assam Black Milk Tea w/ boba (reg sweet, reg ice). My bf ordered a Strawberry Mango Tea (reg sweet, reg ice). Instead of getting the Assam, I think the guy messed up my order so I ended up with an Earl Grey Milk Tea. I can't explain it but the boba balls weren't all that great. My milk tea also had a strange aftertaste. It must be the sweetener that they use. My bf seemed to enjoy his fruit tea, but I didn't care for it too much. To me it tasted like artificial sweetener. Also, the drinks are much pricer than what I am used to. Their milk teas cost about $4.55 for regular size. If you consider yourself a boba snob, I would try a different boba shop. read more

We ordered a Thai tea and taro tea, both with boba and the taro tea with oat milk. I was shocked at the price, with a $1.50 tip our total came to $18.82. That seems a little HIGH? Li Cha Tea is situated in the Broadway Point retail building with convenient sidewalk dining spaces. The indoor space is very small but quaint. Service is friendly. The menu offers a variety of traditional tea, milk tea, fruit tea, and fruit yogurt smoothie drinks. Prices are fair. Taste is pretty average. It's great that the staff come and bring your drinks and food direct to you. The ambience of the outdoor patio dining space is what will draw me back especially on a sunny afternoon. The owner is incredibly kind and is always willing to make excellent drink recommendations. Very dedicated to delivering the best service. *Open for takeout and delivery* Visited this place as part of my mission to try out new boba places. The staff was SO nice and friendly. I typically don't like a lot of boba with my drinks (ideal number is ~12 - and no, I didn't say this when ordering). The lady working kind of laughed at me abs was sweet not to charge me for my very little amount of boba requested (of course, I made sure nobody was behind me while I was being annoying and particular). I'm not entirely sure why this place has such high reviews. Finally managed to come here yesterday after passing by it countless times and to say I wasn't impressed is a bit of an understatement. Went in and ordered one taro milk tea with boba, one passion fruit jasmine tea with boba, and one brown sugar fresh milk with boba which doesn't allow for alterations. Mind you, I've been to many boba shops so I'm aware brown sugar milk usually has no alterations. But the main issue of my review is good lord, the girl putting in our order didn't seem to understand how to input orders for our drinks properly. For the passion fruit jasmine tea, I wanted less ice and regular sweetness per the wording on their menu. Suddenly as the order is put in, a 20% shows up. Which that doesn't seem like regular sweetness. I got concerned so I asked her why it says 20%. She says because I wanted it "less sweet". I explained to her I wanted regular sweetness. So she changed it to 50%?? What part of regular is 50%? Most boba places have it as regular or 100%? Anyways I just gave up trying to argue my case and let it be. So my boyfriend then puts in his drink order. He also said regular sweetness for his drink to which 10% showed up. Like...what? There's no way this girl has any idea what she's doing. She's possibly new but major facepalm. You can't just be working as the order taker with a manager next to you helping and still getting this weirdly messed up. Again, my boyfriend got confused but didn't say anything and so I put in our third order of the brown sugar fresh milk with boba. When it came to trying our drink, my drink was fine, nothing special. It seemed to be at the regular sweetness amount which made me confused. If low sweetness is 20%, and regular is 50%, why is regular sweetness also at 10% for the taro one. The taro one was...bad. Again, my bf ordered it as regular sweetness and I don't know if they just decided to put more artificial flavoring but the drink had so much artificial taro flavor that it was like licorice. And I thought quickly's taro milk tea was artificial. That one at least was more balanced out. I gave the brown sugar fresh milk to my mom and apparently it was so bland she had to add condensed milk on her own to make it taste like something. I tried a sip and realized it was like drinking watered down milk. No brown sugar flavoring or anything. Anyways, careful what you order here but I have no intentions of coming back. read more

I had Li Cha Tea on my bookmarks for a while, but I have not had the chance to stop by because they close early either at 6 or 6:30 PM depending on the day. I had the chance to stop by when I was in the area for a Yelp event. Parking is street parking, so you may have to park further down and walk. I ordered my usual - the jasmine milk tea with boba. I feel like the drink was not that sweet and a bit on the watery side. The boba was also a bit on the chewy and soft side, it kind of melted in my mouth. read more

Was doing some shopping nearby, so I decided to grab some boba before heading out. The nearby Bober tea had unfortunately just run out of boba topping, right as we arrived. So instead, we opted to try Li Cha, based upon all the positive Yelp reviews we saw. Although there are no tables inside, Li Cha does offer plentiful amount of outdoor seating. And when we arrived, we saw full tables, and large groups of people gathered outside waiting for their drinks. In addition, the line was snaked out the door. So we took the large amount of traffic to be a good sign as to the quality of drink Li Cha offered. We decided to try the Lemon Passion Mountain Tea w/ boba. Wait time after ordering was a bit long, but not overly surprising given the large amount of pending orders from both app orders, as well as in-person patrons. Li Cha has one of their employees run outside with an order, shout out the order, and then run back inside with the order if noone shows up to claim it. It seemed a really inefficient system, and the guy running back and forth seemed extremely annoyed and quite surly. Especially at times when he shouted an order, and noone was there to claim it (mostly from online/app orders). While we could tell that the quality of the tea used was very good tea, the boba, which is the part I personally enjoy the most in a drink, was rock hard and very much NOT enjoyable! Given the terrible boba quality, long wait times, and lackluster service, I don't think I will be returning here for round 2. read more

We gave Li Cha a try, this is one of the few boba places in Walnut Creek area. It was really hot that day so we tried the Watermelon Yogurt smoothie and Mango Yogurt smoothie. I walked in to order my drinks and it was a little confusing that there were a bunch of smaller signs with different items than the main menu. However, I can't complain about the variety of drinks and food they have. I was able to try the oolong purple yam marble milk tea and taro matcha marble milk tea. The beautiful marbling of the drink is created by putting syrup onto the sides of the cup itself and then pouring the drink part into it. It makes for a really instagrammable drink but I did find it hard to get a good mix of the flavor since much of it is stuck to the wall of the cup. The oolong purple yam matcha was very milky with little oolong taste. I worked hard to scrape off the purple yam from the sides just to give it more flavor. I probably wouldn't get that again. It's definitely pretty if that's what you're looking for. The taro matcha marble milk tea was much better. The taro flavor was very strong and I was able to get a subtle hint of the matcha. It was pretty sweet so if you don't have a huge sweet tooth, maybe ask for less sugar in yours. Overall, I enjoyed the matcha drink and will probably go back for it again. read more

This place has aesthetically pleasing drinks and fast customer service. There's quiet a line here usually when I pass by. The parking situation was easy as they had the poster on their door front that helped us get parking in no time. Looks wise the boba doesn't disappoint and the place follows all protocols for social distancing too. However, they fail in asking questions to the customers when placing the orders and my order was not as I have expected. I was ordering my taro matcha bubble tea and completely forgot telling them the sugar level (because usually I end up getting 0-20%). The normal sugar level was too sweet for my tastebuds. And surprisingly the taro wasn't cold enough at all. I was really excited to sip on the boba, but it tasted warmer than room temperature, very watery and I couldn't even taste my taro at all in there. The matcha was stuck to the cup and I had to scratch it off the straw to get it. Also I have noticed that the quantity is comparatively lesser than other boba spots in Walnut Creek for the price we pay. read more

I decided to give this place a try due to the positive reviews. Do not be fooled, their drinks are far from postive. Ordered 3 drinks (osmanthus oolong milk tea, dongding oolong milk tea, and brown sugar assam milk tea) and their pandan egg waffles. The tea was super watered down, it tasted like sugary milk water. There was absolute no tea flavor at all. The osmanthus was just straught up water and despite the assam having black sugar I could not taste that at all. The dongding was slightly better comapred to the others and had the slightest hint of tea flavor. The pandan was ok, the flavor was there but lacking. Overall disappointed and I will not be coming back here again. read more

We got two drinks today. The wait for the drinks was fairly long, even with few customers around. I tried the signature assam black tea with crema. At first I thought the drink was bland because the creama separated from the tea, but once I mixed it a little it has a sweet creamy texture. The watermelon yogurt smoothie on the hand was a bit of a let down. There was not much yogurt, so as a result the smoothie was more of a slushie and didn't have as much flavor. Overall, this place is ok if you crave a tea drink. read more

Stopped by again and tried out the Rose Milk Tea and Thai Milk Tea this time! Both were incredible but I am absolutely in love with the Rose Milk Tea. It was the drink recommended to us, and it was so good. I don't usually go for floral tastes but their rose flavoring was just the right amount of subtle and sweet, really elevating the taste. I ordered with full sweetness this time and it tasted perfect -- if you're usually a 25% to 50% sweetness drinker like me, just know that the regular sweetness level here is already fitting to your standards! Came across Licha Tea, a nice boba shop located in the Downtown Walnut Creek area where I believe iTea used to take place. I've only been here once and I wanted to try their most basic/standard milk tea drink before trying anything more adventurous - so that I could gage how good their milk tea and boba were. Their default "standard" milk tea is Earl Grey tea with milk, just FYI. I thought the tea flavor pleasantly came through, and the drink was pretty milky but not to the point of it being creamy. Their normal/100% sugar was not too sweet and actually was perfect for me. Their boba topping was very nicely cooked (chewy yet still soft without being mushy), but it could use a bit more sweetness/sugar. Price was pretty standard nowadays, around $6.50 after adding a topping and upsizing it. I would go back to try their other drinks. Their salted Crema drinks look very inviting on yelp. read more

Found this place while walking through Walnut Creek on a Sunday afternoon while shopping. The store has a very inviting store front with nice pictures of their drinks so it definitely caught our attention. While we were trying to figure out what we wanted, I realized almost everyone ahead of us ordered the Brown Sugar Fresh Milk tea so I had to give it a try, one of the people ahead of me also told me that it doesn't have caffeine-- the Assam one does. So I got that, another friend got the salted creama dongding oolong tea with boba, and chocolate creme brûlée marble milk tea. They also serve some food and egg puffs, but I did not smell any egg puffs cooking that you normally usually smell from boba places. I give it a 4 stars for the overall service and variety of the menu. The locally owned workers are so kind and friendly but it isn't your basic boba place where they have really young employees that you're used to seeing. I'm glad to see this place in its location and that they're still open during covid. But as for their boba, it's pretty good, soft, and sweet and not overcooked. But I honestly wasn't too impressed with their brown sugar boba, at the end it was hard to get the rest of my boba from the ice and $5 for a regular size is pretty pricey compared to other places. I'd definitely come back to try something on their menu and give another boba drink a try. read more

I was so excited to try this place since my eyes were really happy when I saw how the cups and designs looked. Their menu looked really interesting too, especially their swirl drinks. The taste of the drinks we ordered weren't as good though, which was disappointing. They looked amazing though. Taro matcha marble milk tea - just tasted like sugar to me. The swirling of the taro and matcha looked really pretty, but the taste was very one-note. I didn't even taste any matcha flavor or deep taro flavor, just crumbly sugar texture and sugar flavor. Brown sugar Assam milk tea - this one tasted a bit better than the taro matcha, but i couldn't really get much of the brown sugar flavor. It was sweet, but didn't have much of the brown sugar flavor.
