Saw this place while looking on Yelp for something sweet....4 stars, so I thought, "wow this place must be good!" To begin, I ordered one large Thai tea with boba, one regular brown sugar milk tea with no boba & a Pandan waffle. All came out to $19. I understand inflation is happening, but dang! Anyway, the Thai tea was bland and so was the boba. Boba was hard to chew so it ruined the whole thing. I usually always finish my Thai teas, even if I don't like it, but this one I couldn't even finish half. Next, the brown sugar boba tasted like plain milk. When my friend asked if she could change her drink, they offered to put more brown sugar in her drink but that didn't help the taste. We basically paid $6 for a cup of milk. The highlight of the whole order was the pandan waffle. It was a little burned, but the taste was still good. read more

The mango shake is really aesthetic and I saw others ordering their specialty drinks which looked so pretty and also I'm sure taste delicious. They have stamp cards which they actually allow you to leave at the store (you write your name on it and tape it to the wall) so you never have the problem of forgetting your stamp card! haha how creative. Also tried their pandan egg waffle upon the suggestion of the owner - I love egg waffles. Their egg waffle was great - crispy on the edges and the "egg" portion was puffy and chewy. It also looked super unique b/c the pandan made it green. The pandan flavor is really subtle so I'd recommend it if you haven't tried pandan before! Wrote two fairly longer reviews, so I'll keep this one short. My main gripe last time was in regards to the way that the portions were a bit too far off than they should have been. I'm glad that when I went in today the owners also acknowledged that they took the feedback in, and accounted for and took responsibility for it, so very nice of them, as mentioned before. The service here was never the issue. Today I brought my friend to try out the place, and got another passion fruit as usual. No issues today, cup was filled up as it should be, and they were pretty busy with plenty of people just sitting at the outside area (no designated area from the shop), and had a nice atmosphere of a chill spot with everybody if you wanted to visit a boba place and just hang out a bit, which is kind of rare nowadays. Went in the afternoon on a Wednesday so it wasn't busy at all. They have a large selection of teas. Also noticed they had dumplings on the menu! lady working the front was very friendly. I didn't feel rushed in ordering as it was my first time there and I was getting myself acquainted with the menu. My drink was flavorful and sweet; boba was soft just like I like it. The drink had too much sugar and ice. In addition, I asked for aloe in my drink in my drink, but they gave me lychee jelly. Great selection of teas with interesting favors. Unfortunately, with the two drinks I tried, they sounded better on paper than the actual product. Ordered both drinks with 50% sweet and no ice and it was already plenty sweet. Salted Crema Four Seasons Spring Tea - sweet tea with no particular distinct favors. With the salted crema mixed in, tasted like a yogurt drink. Chocolate Creme Brulee Marble Milk Tea - tasted exactly like coco power mixed in water. The creme brulee was more like pudding rather than creme brulee. Pretty disappointing. I definitely would not order the Chocolate Creme Brulee Marble Milk Tea again but am open to try other drinks. This review is for their egg puffs and I am not a fan of it. I came here excited since I saw the many flavors available for their egg puffs including pandan flavor. So I ordered their original egg puff to see how it is before trying other flavors later. However, it was a huge disappointment. Even though the egg puff was freshly made, after having a bite of it, I don't want to eat it anymore. It lacks the fragrance, flavor and texture. The flavor was bland. I can't really taste the egg in it - it just taste like a flour dough. The texture was just soft, there's no crispiness in the outside as one would expect. Might give their drinks a chance in the future, but I am definitely not going to order their egg puffs again. read more

I've been searching for good boba in Walnut Creek for years and am so happy to have found Li Cha Tea! There was no line when we went, staff was friendly, everything was clean inside, and there was a variety of drinks to choose and customize from. There's not much room inside, but plenty of outdoor seating. I got the DongDing Oolong tea with Agar Boba and it was perfect. This was my first time trying Li Cha. I got the genmaicha milk tea and it tastes so good. You can really taste the genmaicha. Genmaicha is Japanese brown rice green tea and you can really tell it's authentic genmaicha. Soooo good. I wish I ordered it with honey boba tho. I mistakenly ordered the agar boba and I'm not a big fan of agar boba. But the flavor of the milk tea makes up for it. I wanted I-Tea, but it's under new ownership and name. I ordered a Large Taro Matcha Marble Milk Tea with Lychee Jelly and a Beef Bowl. It costed me $17.30!!!! The size for both was very small. For the price paid, I was hoping for real Taro, but only tasted the powder. Also, the beef bowl was ok. It tasted like the bulgogi beef from Costco. I've only been here twice but the first time was so good that I got 5 drinks this time to last over the week. I usually don't get boba at Walnut Creek because all the shops have always been disappointing. I decided to give Li Cha a try because I needed a pick-me-up during this quarantine. I was pleasantly surprised it tastes authentic, with a distinct menu that isn't a syrupy taste. It actually tastes like tea! This is huge for me because I feel all the boba shops in Walnut Creek do not understand this is the basic standard and yet, is overpriced for their syrup drinks. The owner is really nice and recommended us the....orange passion mountain tea with aloe? I think that's what it is, and it's refreshingly delicious! We also got salted creama oolong tea and you CAN TASTE THE OOLONG. & Their brown sugar fresh milk is great. Boba is chewy. They have a stamp card that also contains their menu! I thought that was pretty cool. Also, they have biodegradable bags that separates the drink in the center. I think going the extra mile to purchase these small things for their customers is convenient and in addition to their good drinks, will be the reason why I'll be a frequent visitor. Texture and consistency were overall good, but they added way too much salt that this yummy Hong Kong eats became salty. Definitely not worth the price they charged(over $6) Salted crema dong ding oolong tea- underwhelming. The oolong tea flavor was really good, but the boba itself was horrible- no flavor whatsoever Purple yam drink- so wanted to love this drink, reason why I chose this place. There is barely any purple yam flavor, boba was not good, and the regular size was SO small! In addition to it all, they gave us paper straws that did not work! Decided to try Li Cha Tea on a whim, for an afternoon pick-me-up. What a pick-me-up! To start, the couple running this shop is so very kind. The shop itself is sooo cute. There is a lot of selection from the menu, which also includes some food. We ordered the classic milk tea, the high mountain tea, and the egg puffs. This place is the GOOD! I can actually taste the tea, the sweetness (adjustable) was perfect, and my freshly made egg puffs were all gone in the brief car ride home. YUM. This was...a really nice breath of fresh air. I just love how you can adjust sweetness and ice level on their specialty drinks. Some boba places couldn't do that as they come standard. Anyway, their boba is soft and chewy and their drinks are very good. I would drive here just to get my fix, esp their matcha drinks. No dining or waiting inside during Covid. Area is closed off but looked like it became a storage area. Compared to the other boba places nearby, I have to rate their pearl drinks accordingly. We enjoyed the egg puff, although the batter was not enough, so each puff was half dome instead of a full puff. The Thai ice tea w pearl tasted like it was 50% ice, 50% sugar, if you like that option, but I didn't order it like that. Echo and Tony are the owners who are tremendously gracious and willing to answer any questions one may have. It is clear that they take pride in ownership of this business. The menus are easy to read as they are on the wall, to the right, upon entry. Not only do they offer cold, and hot, teas, but a variety of boba/drink topping options can be added as well. Furthermore, they also have food choices to pick from. As for the tea, you can pick from two sizes, along with your choice of sugar options, and amount of ice wanted. To make things "user-friendly" for all patrons, the menus are in English, but also in different languages -- I was impressed by this as Walnut Creek has an array of ethnicities residing here so many languages are spoken. I was craving something sweet so I opted for the Chocolate Crème Brulee Marble Milk Tea. I got it iced with boba, 50% half sugar, and 30% slight ice. WOW!!! THIS MADE MY TASTEBUDS DANCE!!! SOOOO GOOD!! :D They have free Wi-Fi, accept all major credit cards, as well as cash, fast service and an immensely inviting atmosphere. Three tables inside and a few tables outside.
