Came here on a fluke, Livermore to American Canyon. This location has plenty of parking. So no worries there. When I did walked in there were plenty of tables that were occupied. That only tells me that this place is legit. The cashier was super sweet, and told me that if I needed help , she is more than willing to. The menu items looked so appealing. Curry has a layer of fat upon cooling... dark colored with no stuffing inside (no meat, veggies, etc). Food and drink took 22 minutes to get. They give you one of the shakers. Employees showed up late to work, and despite us being the very first customers of the day, it still took over 20 minutes to prepare three onigiri. There were no other orders, no rush, and no excuse for such poor service. We're talking about a simple item consisting of rice, seaweed, and a slice of Spam, yet the staff seemed incapable of putting it together in a reasonable amount of time. Glad I was able to stop by 5 min before closing on my way home. It was pretty busy inside but there were still a few tables available. I really liked the clean and modern interior. They seemed quite busy because it took about 15 minutes before my drink was ready. I ordered their mango pomelo sago since it was highly recommended by others. Even though the drink was preset to 100% sugar, it wasn't super sweet, which I liked. The sago could have been cooked a bit longer so it can be softer and chewier. The mango was refreshing and sweet. I could probably skip the pomelo next time since it didn't make the drink taste better. Glad I stopped by to check this off my list since I've had it bookmarked for a while. My go-to beverage is the Mango Crystal, which resembles a mango slushy with chunks of mango and a clear, jelly-like topping. The mango flavor is sweet but not cloyingly so and tastes like a perfectly-ripened mango. The drinks only come in one size (large) and are priced accordingly. I haven't tried any of the snacks yet, but there's a whole roster of delicious-sounding food items including ramen, dumplings, and even onigiri. It's unfortunate they can't get their red guava tea right...the last couple of times they did not have red guava at all, and with this most recent visit, they said they did not have lime and asked if that was ok. We said why not, it might still taste ok. The red guava drink did fall flat because it was more on the sweet side despite going down in sweetness to 80%. The lime really did add a tart balance to the drink, so I feel like it should not have been omitted. I'd probably think twice before coming back because the red guava tea is the best drink here, and they seem to frequently run out of ingredients for it. read more

I wouldn't really call it sago--it was more like mini agar boba mixed into the drink. Definitely not what I expected, and once it was stirred, there was no way to pick it out. What a pleasant surprise! I'm not sure why I didn't have the highest of expectations, but wow so bomb. I got the peach oolong tea latte (comes with agar boba) and it was refreshing, not too sweet (I got 30% sweetness), and with almond milk. I think this is ones of the better boba places in Pleasant Hill / Concord area. They have more than just drinks. I saw they have ramen and other side snacks. I ordered a guava green tea, they didn't have just the guava green tea liquid (the ones just the liquid drink had lemon in it) so instead I had to get the blended drink one without the cheezma. The drink was refreshing and personally I would like the tea to be stronger, it was a bit watered down for me. If they had a stronger tea in this drink it would have been perfect and would have been a new favorite. The interior is this place is modern and chic. A good amount of table but not great for big groups. When is packed the orders can take awhile I would choose this place over milk tea lab. read more

I love that this side of the East Bay/Contra Costa County has a spot like Junenov Tea- I feel like this is more common in the South Bay area or near Berkeley and Oakland, so to have an awesome Taiwanese focused cafe and restaurant more north is very welcome. I see why this place gets all the hype but definitely a few things can be improved. I liked the variety of drink choices on the menu so I had a really hard choosing. I should have just stuck with the regular order of something fruity but instead I got the tiramisu milk tea which was overall disappointing. It did not taste like tiramisu at all, it just tasted like it was topped with marshmallow and powder. Aside from that, the oreo matcha was very good and would order that again. We also really enjoyed the shrimp tempura onigiri and the popcorn chicken. I do wish we could have adjusted the spice level just because it seemed a little too spicy. But it was a plus that their food servings were pretty big. The interior was super aesthetic but there was such a weird smell the moment you walked in the door. Even the bathroom smelled better than that. The experience overall would have been better if the employees actually talked to the customers. I spent about $40 for 2 drinks and the food. Short Rib Onigri: 10/10 meat is soft and tender. It's literally the size of a cheeseburger. They still give it to you with spam and egg, but with this choice, they do put some greens in it and it made sense to me. Pork Belly Onigri: 9/10 a big thick cut of pork belly. Same take as the short rib. I do wish the skin of the pork belly was a bit crispy, but I still ate it and it was really great. Original Onigri (spam & egg): 10/10 it's not pictured, but that's my husbands favorite without all the fancy meats they offer. He can literally eat 2 of them. There's often a long line, so they try and work through the line quickly, but they're still very nice. Getting your drinks and food can be a bit slow. My fave is their jasmine milk tea with boba.
