Concord is by far my favorite Surf City Squeeze location based on the quality and taste of the chocolate covered strawberry smoothie I got this past weekend, with low cal smoothie mix of course. Super fresh and tasty, generous with the chocolate sauce, the perfect blend of strawberry and chocolate flavors. Too bad I don't live nearby, I didn't know what I was missing at the other locations till I came here. Service was sufficient, I'm not even mad that there was a little bit of a line, based on how good they make their drinks, and the line went fast anyway with no shortage of workers on a Saturday afternoon. read more

I requested for the drink to be prepared thick in consistency. The smoothie was blended to perfection; it was truly refreshing and delicious. The customer service was quick and pleasant. Oh man oh man. Came here on Thursday on by break from work and I needed caffeine so I decided to get a large blended coffee milk tea with boba. I was excited to try it. The service came with a smile & good people; in which is unfortunately is the only reason they got an extra star. The boba was a little over $7, which seemed pretty pricey but I was willing to risk it for the caffeine, but it had little to none flavor. It was very watered down from start to finish. Yes, I still finished the drink... for the caffeine. But, as stated, not much flavor at all, not much from the coffee, none from the boba pearls. The boba pearls were chewy which is expected, but other boba shops I've been to would have a sweet honey flavor to them, which these didn't have; just flavorless chewy balls of calories. I was very disappointed because every time I'm at the mall, they seem to have quite a line. This also was not my first time here; I had been here several times in the past, when I was younger, & from what I remember, it was good! My favorite smoothie place of all times. I have been going here since I was in middle school. Located in the Sun Valley Mall, right below the escalator on the JC Penny side. All the employees were wearing their masks and they implemented more plexiglass around the area to promote for more safety measures. My favorite go to drink is the Strawberry Banana smoothie. Sometimes I add Kale if I want to get more healthy with it, but this time I wanted to try their traditional flavor combo. The smoothie was ice cold and had the right amount of thickness to it. I do notice a difference from time to time, but they are more or less consistent with how it is made. Whenever Mrs. Kim is working, she always helps make my drink for me and she does it the absolute best. Overall, I will always go back here. My go to spot for a smoothie. read more

I also make sure to ask for extra Oreos because I feel that without the extra Oreos the smoothie doesn't taste that good. I've had one of their "healthy" drinks before. I believe the ingredients were kale, spinach, and some fruit. It was pretty good although I'm not sure how much sugar was added. The service I've received here has been on and off. Some days I've been attended to right away on a slow day and fast day, and other times I've felt like I was ignored. If you like something sweet and cool than go here. Lately, I've been on this non-stop smoothie hype. Not sure if it's because it's so dayum HAWT over here in the East Bay, but I've found myself drinking smoothies multiple times per week. The culprit? Well, there are a few places that I go to get my fix. However, Surf City Squeeze has been happily feeding my current smoothie addiction as of late. FIRST of all... whoever created that Kale Smoothie needs to be hugged and slapped all at the same damn time. Hugs for that absolutely delicious concoction, and slaps for contributing to my addiction which in turn drains my poor little wallet. But hey... it's good so I'll pay up and slurp it up. Everything about these smoothies are the bidness! The quality, the consistency, the sweetness, the taste. They're just peeeerfect and I love 'em! I never have to wait in a super long line and the staff is always cordial. They make SAMPLES! And thank Gaaawd because I probably wouldn't have tried their kale smoothie so soon if it wasn't for me sampling it first. It's located on the second level of the Sunvalley Mall, so I wouldn't really call it "convenient" per say. But, it's a great way to cool down after walking around in the mall all day. But I'm gonna be honest... sometimes I drive all the way to this mall JUST for those smoothies. Yep, that's how hooked I am now. The prices are steep... but then again, what smoothie place do you know of that isn't? Even Jamba is gettin' up there in price. I think the difference is truly that the quality is top notch. I like my smoothies super sweet and fruity, and Surf City always comes through when it comes to that. Their size to price ratio is pretty fair as well. All in all, it's an excellent spot to grab a yummilicious smoothie, especially while hanging around in the mall. This review is not regarding the order itself (which by the way was horrible as well -- I got the triple berry and my friend got the bee stinger; ) This is about the fact that the owner (a lady with white hair) fired this young-looking employee and made him take off his T-shirt before he left. This poor kid had to walk through sun valley mall topless looking embarrassed. I find it incredible that the place did not even have the courtesy to let the employee leave with the T-shirt and maybe ask for it later. Had the Thai milk tea here, only option was the slush kind. Drink was mediocre, didn't taste authentic, might be powder. Boba was soft though. Didn't enjoy it that much, most likely not going to get it again. They had samples put for the fruit smoothies, and those tasted delicious! It was a kale smoothie with a bunch of fruits. We use to have this smoothie place in the mall by my house but they closed down so when I stumbled across this place when I was on my way back home from up north it was like a God send! Their smoothies are just skin damn good! I got the strawberry banana smoothie and it was just as I remembered it. Creamy and refreshing. You're thinking what? A creamy smoothie? How? So I'm guessing that they add in evaporated milk to give it that push of sweet and creamy. There were also samples of a kale smoothie and that was amazing too. So inconsistent with drinks. Every drink tastes the same with the milkshake mix regardless of what fruit you ask for. Only 1 out of 10 drinks can you actually taste the fruits. That is when we constantly tell them to have less mix and a bit more fruit. I give up on asking them. They just stare back and say nothing but "ok" and nothing changes. Normally I don't mind paying the $8.00 for their drink. Since I don't go here very often and it's a treat. I always order a Bee Stinger. Which coms with blueberries, bananas, their special sauce, B pollen and protein powder. I simply ordered it like I always do as of lately. Which is to ask for less less blueberries and to add some strawberries. Now I can understand if it cost them more for the strawberries that they added an extra charge. Yet, it doesn't and it's not like they're giving me more for my money there simply charging me for equaling out the ratio of what's in the drink. Which they've never done before! I was in Sun Valley Mall recently and was really wanting a smoothie. So I got a large orange-mango one. The cashier asked me if they wanted me to add strawberry to it, but I politely declined. Though this is a busy mall, my order too forever to come out. And make sure you keep your receipt, b/c the drinks didn't necessarily come out in the order they were originally ordered. When I did get my drink, it was large. But that's about it. There wasn't a lot of flavor to the drink, and it was more icy than anything else. Next time, I'll get an Orange Julius. read more

I've been coming here for over 10 years. A lot has changed with the quality of their drinks and more lately which I'm sure is due to inflation. They should call their drinks icees/slurpees instead of smoothies because majority (80%) of the ingredient is ice. If you watch them make it they put very little fruit and soy milk and fill the cup with ice. My last drink had chunks of ice in it. To me it's a waste of money because you are paying $8-$12 for a cup of ice!! read more

Went to purchase a smoothie that they were giving samples of, and when I ordered my drink, the manager over charged me for each fruit seperately without telling me that it was extra charges for that drink. After paying and realizing the over chsrges, I asked the manager why I was overcharged amd he pretty much said oh well, if I didnt like it to give him back the drinks and to pick something else or else too bad. But with only two people in line it took the three girls behind the counter 10 minutes to help the person in front of me they were too busy chatting with each other to even help the customers. Finally after 10 minutes I am now being helped and I found the prices compared to the size absolutely ridiculous! I paid 8.50 for mango pineapple smoothie I thought that was a very high price for a small drink I didn't add anything to it... My mistake was handing her the card to pay for the drink without even looking at my total because on the board it's stated a different price. With my receipt in hand I did question why did I just pay 850 she explained with taxes plus the drink I ordered has a protein powder and it makes the price go up. I was highly confused because I did not order any kind of extra in the drink plus I thought it was supposed to be 4.75 Plus tax but does not equal 8.50... Was not in the mood to argue with a 16-year-old kid but even at $4.75 the size of the cup I received was a little shocking to me... Possibly they ran out of their normal cups... The blueberry-based ginseng fling is not only refreshing, but should also give you more vitality. Or so they say. At least, that's what ginseng is supposed to give you. After my encounter today with an off duty employee, I will not be returning. I had an issue with my drink being lost and 5 other drinks being made and passed out that were ordered after mine. I spoke to a person on shift about the issue, refused to give me a refund as I no longer wanted the drink, fine, got the drink made again but as I'm turning to my husband complaining this off duty employee barges me and starts yelling at me that this is everyone's first day, drink tickets get lost, and a whole lot of excuses. I've worked in the industry, regardless of what happens you don't scream at customers especially when you're not even working a shift. She continued to berate me and her body langue was aggressive, she moved in closer to me as if she was about to swing at me, making my husband jump in front of her while holding our toddler. When I asked for her name and a manager she immediately shut up, retreated like a dog with her tail tucked and refused to speak anymore. Huh, where'd that bold energy go?!? As we were leaving she continued to talk crap and yell, so I asked her to come here so I could ask why she felt the need to act this way. She then informed me she was 17, as if I was going to get physical with her. Last I checked, she was the one who was about to. I don't use my hands for violence especially with my child around. I highly suggest taking your business elsewhere until management figures out who to hire employees with better customer service. On duty or not, you're still a representation of the company and that was the only thing I needed to see to know my money is spent better elsewhere. I really love this place because they make the best peach mango smoothie ever! I tried the one from Jamba Juice and it's garbage. Anyways I would give this place 5 stars BUT! I wouldn't because i don't think that a small peach mango smoothie with tapioca should cost almost up to $6 TOO OVERPRICED. I don't mind this place. They sell boba (pearl tea)! My fave flaves of Boba: Honeydew, Green Tea and da da da DA ...TARO!!!! If you're filipino like me and love ube... have taro. yummmmyyyy...
