Yummy! Their mango bingsoo was so good! Highly recommended. Next time I'm trying the Oreo

Okay, it's a small store in the Safeway shopping center. I truly enjoyed the ramen with the fixings. I will admit that I was a bit lost on how to do things but I kinda figured it out. Service behind the counter was meh but ‍

Warning the ice cream portions are huge! You absolutely have to share and I made the mistake of ordering my own, I barely made a dent. However it was yummy, they also offer convenience items like chips and grab and go drinks, but they also have the largest selection on instant ramen I have ever seen. They offer a build your own ramen and of course drinks and shaved ice cream. Its small but room to sit and hang out and enjoy some time with a friend. There was only one person working but we came late in the day and he was nice and was super fast.

    Melon bing soo

I've been here for the bing soo three times since the shop opened in late May 2025. It's a unique icy treat that is perfect on a hot day, and the shop is unique for the area. I've tried 3 of their 6 flavors. I personally love the strawberry cheesecake, followed by the melon and Oreo (it pretty much turns into chocolate cereal by the end). I've also sampled the original, which I'd rank the same as the Oreo. The bing soo is perfect for two people (my partner and I have shared one each time). There's a bit of a wait, but when you pick up the icy creation you see why -- the ice is so fine that it takes time to get enough for one order! It's light, refreshing and you don't feel too full by the end (if you're sharing). They also have croffles and fish ice cream, which I may get to after trying all the bing soo flavors ;) They also have a huge stock of instant ramen bowls/packs + hot water machines to cook them, plus toppings (like cilantro, Spam, fish cakes) on the side. There are also juices packs (think a Capri-Sun x2) that you can get individually. Planning to try them when winter rolls around.

Finally, bingsu has made it to Pleasant Hill!! Dal Dal mainly serves bingsu, but you can find other sweets if that's not your thing. They also have a ramen bar! How cool - seeing the different instant ramen options and so many heating stations, it was giving NYC mini mart (minus the hot food steamer plates). Located in a large plaza with lots of parking, so you'll never have to waste time circling and looking for a spot. [+ 1 star] - Open until midnight so you can get your dessert fix or snack fix even well after many places in downtown have closed. [+1 star] Lots of options to choose from. Take your pick between Croffles, Taiyaki, many popular and also rare to see instant ramen with lots of options for toppings, the viral 10 yen cheese coin, or something else from their frozen food section. There's 4 heating stations and you can choose how many minutes. If it's not hot enough, nuke it again in the microwave they have in the back! [+1 star] The inside is very bright and well lit with a few tables. Signage is very clear. You know exactly what items they offer and what flavors you can get, whether it be There are tables inside and outside. [+1 star] - Big portions and fair prices. Being first timers, my SO and I ordered the original bingsu to share and my other two friends ordered a mango bingsu to share. We were impressed with how much red bean and how much mango each respective bowl had. The mango was definitely bang for your buck! Huge chunks and very ripe! Red bean was cooked to perfection and not served still hard like other places. I've read some other reviews saying the bingsu (shave ice) itself is not sweet enough. The base is milk!! That is why it's not sweet and also why a small thing of condensed milk is given to you on the side - so that you can add as much sweetness to your liking. To me, my SO, and two other friends, the bingsu itself was authentic in terms of sweetness. The texture of the bingsu was smooth and melts in your mouth. We're excited to come back to try the other flavors. [-1 star] With so many menu options, big portions of bingsu, and just one person working during prime time, it's expected that your order will take a long time. My group arrived at a pretty slow time. Only one party ahead of us who had placed their order. It still took about 15-20 min for both our bingsu orders to come out. Hopefully in the future, more workers will be staffed during peak times. Also, note that this place does not give you tap water even if you ask. There is bottled water and other drinks available for purchase. So bring your own water, if needed!

    Original bingsu

A cool concept of an eatery -- instant ramen bar + desserts! The original bingsu was okay (not the best I've had, but it does the job), but I'd return to check out the other menu items.

    Biscoff bingsoo
    Michelle L.

Got a biscoff bingsoo and it was good. The sweetness was just right without adding the additional condensed milk. I would've liked more biscoff flavor throughout the bingsoo and I usually like texture of the ice to be a little softer but overall it was enjoyable. The concept of the store is pretty neat and mimics convenience stores in Korea. You can choose your own instant noodle package and other snacks and drinks and cook it yourself. The store has additional toppings as well. They have a nice selection of instant noodles but personally I would rather make it myself at home for cheaper. They also have ice cream but I didn't try that. The employees were generally nice and the bingsoo came out quickly as there were not many people in the store. Overall, it was good but I'm not sure if I would come back.

    Jasmine C.

Love the concept of this store! They have a lot of ramen options with toppings that you can choose from, drinks, as well as some dessert options like croffles and bingsoo. Came here to try the desserts so I got the bingsoo in the mango flavor. It was a pretty good size and was plenty enough to share between me and my partner. The mangos were huge! I wished they cut it smaller and it seemed like they used those frozen mangos by how big the sizes were. The ice was soft and fluffy. They forgot the condensed milk so we had to ask for it. I also got the Nutella banana croffle which was pretty good. We came around 10pm and there was still a lot of people coming but there's plenty of seating inside and outside! Staff was friendly and helpful. The price isn't tooo bad either. Would definitely come back!

    Sabrina C.

I came on a Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of seats available! This place has self serve instant ramen, soft serve, and bingsoo! We opted to get the mango bingsoo. The service was quick and it came out within 10 minutes! The bingsoo came with mango and whipped cream. The ice was nice and fine but the only con was that the mango chunks were HUGE. There was a lot of mango to the point where I had to take it to go! The large pieces made it difficult to eat and it would have been nice if there was also a side of extra condensed milk! Other than that, great place for a quick bingsoo fix , but it wasn't super remarkable! There's free street parking out front :)

Plain croffle and Vietnamese Coffee Crema
    Shannan L.

Finally stopped by and tried a few things. I bought the plain croffle which was delicious. I wish I wasn't full from lunch so I could try one of the other ones. The Vietnamese Coffee Crema was good as well. I am very picky when it comes to coffee so I was relieved that it tasted good. The young lady that helped us was very friendly and the shop was clean and very organized.

    Daldal how to experience menu.
    Rachelanjoli Z.

Cute ambiance, it's styled like a little ramen shop with an ice cream parlor vibe, but buyer beware. The only clearly posted price was $6.95 for ramen, plus toppings. The welcome screen tells you to choose chips, a drink, ramen, and toppings, but it's not clear what's optional. When I went to pay, the cashier asked "No chips?" like I was missing something, so I added chips and drinks. What I thought would be a quick, inexpensive lunch for two ended up costing $39. After paying, and being prompted to leave an 18% tip, I then had to cook the noodles myself, since that's how the restaurant operates. I don't mind cooking my own food, but $39 for two packs of ramen, about 10 pieces of rice cake, two small juices, and chips , with self-service cooking , felt excessive.I should have went to hot pot, better serving sizes. Service was flat and pricing wasn't transparent. Not worth the money. I wouldn't return.

Interesting concept! :) Plaza = no issues with parking Seating : indoor and outdoor You can get diy instant ramen, korean pouch drinks, bingsoo, croffle, soft serve taiyakis, and snacks all in one place! They have a lottttt of options to choose from. Grab a bowl, pick your ramen, and start cooking! Once your ramens ready, you can pick your toppings and anything else you want! They don't skimp on the toppings. I was able to share the corn, cheese, and kimchi with my bf. I like that the kimchi is on the sweeter side than sour. I think it would be really good when making kimchi fried rice with it. Desserts are good and were made in a timely manner. I prefer the bingsoo over the croffle. I was pleasantly surprised by the Biscoff bingsoo as I usually prefer fruit ones. I actually liked it more than the mango haha. Presentation was nice. Staff was friendly! Def a cool experience to bring your family and friends to share/try everything!

    Mango Bingsoo (supposedly to-go)
    Eugene A.

My mom and I visited Daldal on a intensely warm Saturday afternoon. At first, my mom and I were initally thrilled to see and experience a Korean convenience store atmosphere in Pleasant Hill. She ordered a Mango Bingsoo to go. I simply opted for a pouched mango ade with a cup of ice from the convenience store section. Frankly, the ice cup is subpar because the ade does not fill up all the way and the cup is too tall. While there's enough seating inside and outside of the premises, it can get too crowded since the partitions between tables are narrow. The concept seems off since instant ramen and bingsoo are oxymorons in Korean food. They don't co-exist in the same space in South Korea and in Koreatown LA. I must be firm and honest that we were truly displeased with one of your staff's lack of professionalism and customer service skills. While we were unable to obtain their names (since they were not wearing name tags), there were two young women in their late teens/early twenties: one presumably of East Indian descent, while the other appears to be Southeast Asian or Filipino descent. The cashier (of East Indian descent) was slightly better skilled in terms of taking orders and clearly marked my mom's order to go. My mom and I were very displeased with the other staff (of SE Asian/Filipino descent) because she placed my mom's order on a dine-in bowl when my mom said it's for to-go. She irritably said, "oh our orders are only for here." My mom politely responded, "well I cannot stay because I have to go." Your staff complained and irritably said "oh it's gonna melt" and at first refused to solve the situation. The staff appeared to be confused and not willing to solve the mishap. My mom had to suggest to place her order of mango bingsoo on a paper bowl (originally intended for ramen). The mango bingsoo was placed on the ramen paper bowl, but she did not even apologize to my mom. We even had to ask for another paper bowl to serve as a de facto cover. Does Daldal even offer plastic/compostable bowls containers with proper covers? As a former supervisor at a restaurant, I immediately observed that the staff did not provide proper customer service and problem solving skills. This may affect your business' reputation and she and other staff at Daldal must take this as a learning opportunity, to serve customers more professionally and become a more enhanced problem solver. I could've asked to speak with the manager and/or owner on duty at the time, but we had to go. I initially conveyed my crucial feedback via DM, but have not yet received a response. Based on our first experience, my mom and I feel reluctant to return to Daldal. Perhaps, we might give your store another chance once your staff gets retrained with improved customer service and problem solving skills.

It had been a long time since I last visited Humphry Slocombe, so I was excited to come back. I was greeted by the friendly staff, who were super patient and encouraged me to try as many flavors as I wanted. One flavor that caught my attention was the "Secret Breakfast," which was definitely an interesting and spontaneous choice, but I ended up going with the Toasted Sesame instead. The Toasted Sesame was delicious! It had the perfect amount of sweetness without being overwhelming, and the sesame flavor really stood out. Overall, it was a great way to end the night. Friendly service, unique flavors, and delicious ice cream.

I had a cup of the Toasted S'mores - wow. This is good stuff! Easily as good as our favorite ice cream place, Sip n Sweet in Clayton. The location itself is to-go only, but there are a number of outside tables for ice cream consumption, as well as lots of places to sit in the Veranda. I would've loved to try their Vietnamese Coffee ice cream but at that time in the afternoon I was afraid it might affect my sleep. But then a little while later, passing by again, I had the delicious idea of buying a pint of it to eat on my own schedule. Pints are $12. But when I went to pay, I was informed that if I just buy two I get one free! And that's how I ended up walking out with 3 pints of Humphry Slocombe ice cream: Vietnamese Coffee, Peanut Butter Fudge Ripple and Milk and Cookies. My wife loved the Milk and Cookies, and the Vietnamese Coffee is divine. Can't wait to try the last one. Easy five stars for this ice cream!

I assume it's true because their cup sizing has changed which I'm sadly disappointed. It's more open space/spacious and I had to create a new rewards account. Drink menu names changed slightly on kiosk and on the wall. They don't have that tacky shelf with plush, stuff, Knick knacks, for sale anymore. Drink still good, I don't think recipe has changed. I heard, then seen it for myself, the instagram post and stories shared by friends, of people dancing and partying at the shop late nights after hours. Then when I went in, also still had the sign up that said they did dance concert or hosted DJ nights at the shop. But Im also assuming it was under the old management and they must've got caught something doing something illegal or something they weren't suppose to be doing. The minus one star is for the cup sizing. Bring it back! Main reason why I love coming here, a good price for big cup size. Now it's like every other boba shop. Which is fine, but I won't go out of my way to come get boba here like I used to.

This was my first time visiting them again since the ownership change so it's been a minute. What I see here now is just depressing, not just because the place was empty, but it's now devoid of anything that felt like a spot someone would want to hangout at. No music, when I got in there was one person waiting for their food and nobody was even at the front counter for minutes before somebody finally came out from the back. Ordering is just through the kiosk now, which isn't a bad thing. The part that was really rough was the reason why I even came here; the boba. I got a regular milk tea which now they only have a single size. I miss the extra large size they used to have, but oh well. The next issue comes with how much the boba actually costs. They may have gotten rid of the extra large cup sizes, but they're still charging the almost the same amount for it in a much smaller cup. What a deal, right? And we get to the actual drink. When the person making the drink after receiving your order finishes within a minute of making it, it's never a good sign. Why is that? Well, they had premade jug of milk tea ready to pour out for your tasting pleasure. When you have a premade jug of milk tea, it's never a good sign. While I've had them at other places that have done this before, and it's ranged from bad to mediocre, the one here at Milk Tea Lab, now, was in a word, rancid. It was incredibly gross with absolutely no redeeming qualities to it. I generally try not to be so harsh, but this was really not it and I couldn't even finish the boba because of how bad the milk tea was. It's sad to see how big of a dropoff this spot has become compared to what it used to be. This isn't like when they first opened where there were only 2-3 boba spots right next to them. Now there's at least a handful of options within a few minutes away, and dozens of spots within a mile or two, and this is what they're pushing out? It's a shame but this Milk Tea Lab which was their starter store is no longer a place I would ever go back to for boba. It's time is now past with this new ownership.

There were many to choose from, and I'm so glad I overheard the other customers ahead of us saying that the vanilla salted almond toffee flavor was what they are known for. We ended up getting that flavor as one of our two. For our second flavor of two scoops, we ended up getting the marshmallow neapolitan. -Vanilla salted almond toffee: I can see what the other customers meant for "this is what they're known for." I love that the almond is candied/carmelized with toffee. It gives it a roasty flavor, which gives the flavor so much depth. The almond also gives a bit of crunch/texture, which makes this flavor so unique. -Marshmallow neapolitan: I'm not typically someone who likes marshmallows or goes for neapolitan, as I don't like super sweet and I don't like mixing flavors. You can definitely taste all 3 flavors--vanilla, chocolate, strawberry. The marshmallow doesn't make the ice cream as sweet as I would have thought, it really just adds the marshmallow texture. The ice cream is very thick and creamy. It doesn't melt too fast to meld all the flavors together (which I don't really like), and I really appreciate that the ice cream holds together so well! The gentleman helping us was very patient in letting us try several flavors. The shop had a more old time feel. There is a bench to sit on to eat for a bit, but no tables. Overall, I would totally come back to try their unique flavors!
