I never really felt like I was a mochi donut person, but I've given them enough tries to understand the issue. All mochi donuts are different, and the flavors you choose will make a huge difference too. I'm a fan of the texture of the mochi donuts here. They're light with a soft chew. The flavors change every week, so you can check this online or on their IG. Regardless of the flavor, the price point is still the same, which can feel like a rip off when one donut has hella toppings and the next is super basic and bare. The boxes they come in are super cute, and they constantly make fresh donuts if they run out. However, it does take a long time for them to replenish the donuts. I had to wait a good 20 minutes for my order to be done. You can order at the register or you can enter your order on their tablet up front. You will not love every flavor, that's just to be expected, but I do appreciate that their fruit flavored glazes don't taste super artificial. Second visit here on a whim before meeting up with a friend. There were folks waiting for their orders and one person in front of me. The display case was pretty empty for noon time. I chose the three pack (9.50!) with matcha, taro and strawberry churro but would have preferred other flavors that were not available. So, I paid for the order and waited while boba drinks came out, the fried hot dogs came out and more boba drinks came out. The cashier disappeared briefly and came back to fill a couple of orders. I liked the s'mores best since I enjoy chocolate and I thought the graham cracker dusting and marshmallows were a fun touch for the texture. The mango was good, but I would've liked it even better if it had even more real mango pieces on it. I also liked the melona, but I honestly wasn't sure what fruit it was supposed to eat since it reminded me vaguely of kiwi. The matcha was okay, I wish the matcha flavor was a lot stronger. The only downfall is that you cannot buy individual doughnuts, you have to purchase in 3, 6, or a dozen. It's about $3 dollars each, on the pricey side, however, this place is comparable to the high end cupcakes. The doughnut itself is very light and not too sweet. It tasted mostly like milk and barely had any sweetness to it, which is impressive considering I generally find this stuff to be TOO sweet - enough to put me in a diabetic coma. I went for their soft opening and there was a decent line waiting for their corn dogs! I got 3 flavors of the mochi donut (matcha, mango, churro) and it came with one free (raspberry funnel cake). The base for all the donuts are basically the same and it just varies if the toppings are glazed or powder on top. The texture of the donut itself is good - chewy and soft. They also lasted pretty well in the fridge until the next day. Overall a good snack! I got the milk tea with boba too. They can't do any customizations on it like half sweet or less ice, which I didn't like probably meaning they're pre-made in the morning. The packaging is super cute; it comes in a clear bottle you have to pop open like a soda can. The boba is on the really soft side and quite chewy, which isn't my personal favorite.
