Woke up wanting to get a good cup of coffee and came across Mountain grounds located off Alhambra st. I ordered a large iced vanilla oat milk latte, John's veggie omelette, blueberry muffin and carrot loaf. Vanilla latte was good could have used a little more vanilla because it tasted more like a regular iced latte but over it was good. John's veggie oatmeal was served in a coffee cup which threw me off but ended up actually really enjoying the practicality of eating out of a cup on the go the omelette it's self was fresh the veggies were perfectly cooked for my taste it could have used a little salt and pepper but I did enjoy it either way. Pastry portions were huge definitely can be shared I really appreciate that they are not overly sweet which in my opinion pairs perfectly with coffee. The two ladies behind the counter were welcoming and friendly they answered my questions regarding the coffee and freshness of pastries. The ambiance was giving small neighborhood coffee shop with local art work which I really liked as I am a huge art junkie. I definitely see myself going back occasionally to get a cup of joe before my morning walk here.

This place is consistently awesome and the staff is really attentive. They are always friendly and seem to know my drink. They make their Bakery goods and it always look enticing. I usually grab a baked good or cookie on the weekend. I love their house made zero sugar hazelnut syrup and they always seem to have seasonal drink specials. They have a drink card stamp reward program which makes it easier to get a free coffee after a certain amount of visits. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area and want a quick pick me up or a baked goodie which is house made.

Grabbed a pistachio mocha this morning from their specials menu. It was delicious! Mountain Grounds is a super quaint and friendly coffee shop, located on Alhambra in Martinez not far off the freeway. They have tons of fresh baked goods that looked absolutely incredible! It's mostly a grab and go as they only have a handful of tables outside but it's definitely worth a visit! You can order online through DoorDash or in person.

Unfortunately, Mountain Grounds is not great. I had ordered a pickup order of a Frosted mint Mocha and received a hot drink. When I showed the female person at the counter, she said ... that's what was ordered. I said, it was a Frosted drink ... it should be cold, she said no and then I was just so baffled because she was not friendly and did not even acknowledge how crazy that sounded to have a frosted drink be hot ... I showed her a picture of the drink (which had ice cubes floating) and she offered to remake but I was in a rush and just grabbed cups of ice. I also ordered the Avocado Toast and to no surprise at this point, inside the bag was 2 pieces of toasted bread with a mush of avocado inside ... no seasonings or garnishments as described on their menu. The Mountain Panini was sad as well, two slides of toasted bread with 1 slice of cheese and 1 slice of turkey and a strip of bacon. So low class and cheap. Do better.

Such a cool, cozy find! The staff is super nice, the pastries are amazing, and the coffee is spot-on. My perfect Sunday spot for coffee with the fam.

Such a cute little coffee shop! We stopped in early before heading to our mom's appointment and were so glad we did. The barista was incredibly pleasant and friendly, the service was great, and they had so many delicious homemade pastries to choose from. A perfect little morning stop!

This place is really cute, there is seating area outside. I looked for gluten free pastries and this place came up, so I gave it a tried; unfortunately there is no gluten free baked goods available. They do have regular pastries and they look good, they also make sandwiches and a mix of coffee and other drinks. I decided to try their pistachio latter (hot $5.75) it was good. Staff were friendly!

So happy I don't know how to drive because I randomly found this place after taking the wrong exit. The flavors are melting on my tongue. This place is bussin and the workers are a vibe. I live in Vallejo but I would definitely pay that ridiculous toll for another sweater weather latte. Quite literally yum. And that ham and cheese croissant gave me a foodgasm. 10/10 love this cute little gem

After reading an abundance of favorable Yelp reviews, I had the opportunity in checking out "Mountain Grounds". Located in the city of Martinez, this small family-owned and operated business has been in operation dating back to 2013. Situated only a 1/2 mile north of Highway 4 (on Alhambra Ave. and J St.), this place offers a nice selection of coffees, teas, Italian sodas, pastries, and even breakfast sandwiches. During my visit which was on Saturday, 4/20/2024, I had the chance of meeting the owner, John who prepared my drink. Keep in mind that this place is tiny with no indoor seating and no restrooms. However, they do have a decent outdoor patio area (weather permitting). Otherwise, the orders are strictly to-go. I will say this and that is they have very respectable business hours. They are opened weekdays from 5:30am-5:00pm and weekends from 6:30am-5:00pm. That really makes it convenient if you're an early bird to get to school, work, etc. Upon my arrival which was around 10:30am, I wanted a light snack and coffee to get me through the morning. I ended up getting a "Raspberry Crumble Tart" to eat. This hit the spot as it was sweet, savory, and absolutely delicious. To drink, I went with an "Iced Brown Sugar Latte". I have to say that this was above average and not too bitter (as I could easily recognize the brown sugar flavor). Total price for both items came out to a very reasonable $8.50 + tax. Even though this place is tiny, they definitely offer a reasonable amount to offer. Since many already know what to expect on the beverage side, I'll go into detail of their signature food items. This includes a breakfast sandwich, keto cup (eggs, cheese, sausage, bacon), omelets, panini, and a grilled cheese sandwich. And of course your muffins, bagels, Danishes, and bananas. When you factor in the above average service, reasonable prices, and tasty food & drinks, I am giving "Mountain Grounds" an above average four star rating.

this is a gem in martinez. today was the 49ers / Bucs game, and since it was a morning game, the boys and i settled for breakfast sandwiches. i had never been here, so it was nice to see it was a local business. i have to shout out the inside decor and vibe: the christmas tree was already up and there were several seasonal drinks i opted to order their honey latte, and a panini. the honey latte delivered: you get that smooth latte flavor, with a hint of honey. the panini is cooked, with ham, dijon and cheese; also just as good as its coffee. overall, me and the boys loved it, and we would be back any other morning. the service was welcoming and we felt their hospitality. check out this local business and support bucs lost

The owners of Majestic Cafe took over just around a year ago, and they also own Rainbow FroYo and Double Rainbow Cafe. Based on how wonderful their dessert shops are I knew I was in for a treat! The cafe is a nice, large place that has both a casual and classic feel to it. It has pictures on the walls of old downtown Benecia. You order at the counter and the staff is cheerful and helpful. They have a wonderful selection of coffee drinks, both seasonal and non-seasonal. I got to try a few of them. The major standout to me was their Jalapeño mocha. I know it sounds crazy, but whatever they do here works beautifully. Its flavor profile has both spicy and sweet chocolate to it that I've never had in a mocha before. Also, the spice level is not bad. It's just a little kick of spice! I also tried their gingerbread latte and their butterbeer latte. The butterbeer is very sweet with a strong butterscotch flavor. I loved it! Their gingerbread latte was the perfect amount spices and sweetness as well. For food, I tried the breakfast burrito with the chili verde and their avocado toast. Both were exactly what I wanted and were delicious. I will definitely be returning to Majestic Cafe the next time I'm in Benecia.

Cute coffee shop in the middle of a strip mall! We found this place on Yelp by searching for local…read morecoffee shops and this one stood out! The staff was friendly and there was plenty of parking in front and behind the cafe. It was well decorated, with big windows, an open-air bar, and cafe merchandise for sale. There was also a bulletin board advertising other businesses, a bathroom, and wifi options. It was a bit warmer this day, but there was a big fan in the front providing some air to the space. There was also a free or paid wifi option depending on the bandwidth one would need. I ordered the iced chai latte with caramel syrup and almond milk, which was a bit pricey for nearly $10. However, I will say it was delicious and made quickly. Probably the coolest thing here though was the co-working space. The front of the cafe had plenty of seating for people to talk or work. There was a hallway leading to the back room that had larger tables for bigger groups, implying more of a co-working or quieter space. Definitely appealing for people wanting a third space - will be back!

To start, the employee working at the cash register was super friendly and gave great suggestions on drinks and food to order based on how sweet we like things or more coffee for we may want things to be. There isn't really any indoor seating space but they did build out into the parking lot with a few picnic tables and chairs for people to stay and eat their food. While we both really enjoyed the food - both of which were recommended by the employee - the coffee was not good at all. Pro: the avocado toast that we ordered had a curried chickpea salad on top and it had a delicious flavor. That was probably my favorite bite! We also shared half order of the blueberry waffle, and it had a type of granola on top that provided some really great textures. The food certainly impressed me. Con: Both of us felt like the coffee had none of the flavor that it was supposed to have (we both ordered the cardamom maple iced latte with macadamia nut milk) and instead, it just tasted like milk. It didn't even really have a coffee forward flavor. Since this is a coffee shop that was a pretty big disappointment. Overall, we enjoyed the food and service, but would skip the coffee.

If you want some really good food they open I believe at 8:30 until 230. Breakfast & Lunch. But my favorite part was the waitress her name is Dani she was so friendly and kind. She was attentive. When our kids joined us minutes later, we were forced to wait again because our table had been given away. The service remained unprofessional throughout. We asked for coffee while we waited. We were handed black coffee in paper to-go cups with no offer of cream or sugar. When finally seated, our server mocked my request for a proper ceramic mug. Our meals arrived 10 minutes apart. Unacceptably, the toddler's pancakes were among the delayed plates. Because we wanted to eat together, the first three plates sat and got cold while we waited for the rest. Meanwhile, a party of four next to us received all their meals simultaneously. A neighboring server eventually stepped in to help because our assigned server was so inattentive. Our bill was $102, and though I left a $20 tip out of respect for the industry, the dismissive treatment and total lack of coordination were a dealbreaker. We will not be returning.
