I've returned several times over the past year or so because I genuinely enjoy the food and smoothies here. Unfortunately, today's experience was another reminder of why I stopped visiting regularly. My family and I arrived at approximately 12:57 p.m., not realizing they closed at 1 p.m. As we were discussing what to order, I noticed a younger female employee turning the OPEN sign to CLOSED. I asked whether they were closed, and after a brief hesitation, she said they could still accommodate takeout orders. Of course, arriving three minutes before closing isn't ideal, and I completely understand if a business needs to stop taking orders earlier to finish closing procedures. We would have had no issue with that. However, the interaction felt noticeably unwelcoming. We had originally planned to order three sandwiches and a smoothie, but given the circumstances and the employee's demeanor, I decided to order just one breakfast sandwich instead. While paying, I also asked whether they were open until 2:30 p.m. on weekdays. She responded with a surprisingly sharp and emphatic, "Oh no, no, we're 1 p.m. every day." It wasn't the information itself, obviously, but the tone, facial expression, and manner in which it was delivered. I was genuinely taken aback and replied, "It was just a question. I don't have your hours memorized." I paid, tipped, and left. I recognize that tone and demeanor can be subjective, and that we happened to arrive at an inconvenient time. But this experience was consistent with the service issues I described in my original review several years ago. Looking through other reviews, it also appears that customer service has been a recurring criticism, including in some otherwise positive reviews. I don't expect small talk, smiles, or special attention. Straightforward, transactional service is perfectly fine with me. I just appreciate being able to ask ordinary questions without feeling like I'm imposing. It's disappointing because I really do enjoy their food, and I'd much rather have a reason to keep coming back. I hope the customer experience improves. read more

Cons: they got our order wrong but we didn't notice until after we left. The coffee was bad. It's not espresso based, it's drip coffee. $5 for a cup of coffee you can make at home. I stopped at Latte Da Espresso & More after finishing up an appointment. I instantly loved the cozy cafe vibe and the inviting smell of coffee in the air. With many options available, I decided to order a bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant and an iced vanilla latte. The croissant was delicious and satisfied my appetite before I made my way to work. This mom and pop shop is quaint with enough options of basic breakfast items, sandwiches, and drinks. I got a warm chocolate pastry with a chai latte. I liked how the chai latte was less sweet, yet frothy. There's not a lot of tables, but enough. People seem to come and go quickly. I liked how the inside setting was quiet with simple decor where I can have a private conversation without shouting. Service was good, restroom was clean, parking was plenty. I visited here to meet a friend and we sat here next to the window for 3hrs just chatting and very slowly sipping coffee, we were lost in time as the very quaint atmosphere is easy to get lost in. OK, they had me at the name. How can you resist a coffeeshop with the name of "Latte Da"? It's located on Oak Park Blvd in the Oak Park shopping center, not far from Sequoia Elementary, off the beaten track and a few blocks to the west from the hustle and bustle of the Pleasant Hill downtown area. I was in the same shopping center for lunch, and feeling like some coffee afterwards, we stopped by. They close at 3:00 during the week, and it was already 2:15, so all the pastries were gone by then. But lots of coffee available, and that was the main thing! I tried their Caramel Chiller, a blended frappe cold drink. It was quite good and well made. My wife had the white hot chocolate, and it was definitely white, funny to see! But very good, and something different for hot chocolate lovers. The atmosphere inside is quite nice: laid-back and homey with attractive decorative touches, characteristic of a family owned coffeeshop, not a chain. The patrons seem like regulars, the feeling is of a warm, community gathering place. Lots of seating inside, and outside seating as well. No WiFi here, but there is an old-school basket on the floor in the corner heaped full of newspapers to read. Kind of a nice throwback to the time before coffee became Big Business. At lunch, you can get a variety of sandwiches, salads and soup. In addition to a selection of coffees they also have smoothies and iced tea. Latte Da is a nice stop if you are in this Pleasant Hill neighborhood. read more

My friend and I went to this café and ordered chai tea lattes. When we ordered, I asked if they could be made hot. A young woman with short brown hair said yes, and proceeded to make our lattes. We got them a short time later, and instead of being hot, they were lukewarm. I went up and asked her if we could get them hot or at least have them nuked in the microwave and she said no she can't do that due to code. I then asked what we would need to say when we ordered in order to get them to be hot and she said "extra hot." Normally, I don't post a review over a latte, but the service at this place was especially poor and the woman had a definite attitude. We will not be back. read more

This is an adorable coffee shop I had stumbled across because I usually go to that plaza for Kobe Japan and Savanh. All experiences have been very positive, and they always deliver on their coffee. I stopped to get the caramel mocha and the works breakfast sandwich this morning after church. The mocha was just right, not to sweet and the right amount of coffee to wake me up and start the day. I chose to get the works sandwich but wasn't sure what kind of bread I should choose to go with it. Elaine helped me to decide on the croissant ! It was amazing! The croissant was very fresh, buttery and flaky. It was so delicious, I devoured it on my drive home! The service is quick, and the people very friendly and helpful. Today was my 2nd time at Latte Da & it will certainly be my last. The coffee there is not my cup o joe & too expensive for what I received. The coffee shop across the street "Rooted has " was closed so my walking associates decided to go to Latte Da & I went along & wish I hadn't. The 16 oz iced coffee w/ vanilla tasted like a chemical concoction that got 3 sips & donated to the landscape. I roast my own coffee, brew my own coffee & drink coffee at different locations from time to time to maintain my bearings & keep my tastes in order. This place caters to a different crowd that apparently likes the atmosphere & maybe the food.
