The portions felt quite generous and well worth the money spent. If every visit could be like this, I would come every Sunday for lunch. Takeout, St. Paddy's Day. We both got the pastrami sandwich, one on marble rye, the other on Dutch Crunch. Both sammies absolutely fabulous. Huge quantity of pastrami, seasoned with minced pickles and topped with a slice of cheese. We could only eat half for lunch. Plus, the free chocolate chip cookie was great!! my boyfriend and i kept pointing out this place whenever we drove past and we finally caved in one night. parking wasn't bad, though the lot is super tiny and really easy to get boxed in (almost was when we left, lol). the place was completely dead for a friday night. thankful for this now because i don't know how long we would've been standing there for if it were busy. we ordered 2 sandwiches, one with dutch bread and the other with sourdough. while waiting on our sandwiches, a loiterer kept walking in and out of the building, filling and drinking his cup at the soda machine, trying to grab the cashier's attention, etc. it wasn't a big deal, just really random. anyway, while the guy was working on our sandwiches, i'm not exaggerating when i say he asked what kind of bread goes on which sandwich like 5 times. my bf and i had all the time in the world to spare, but if we didn't, that would've been such an inconvenience. he also kept having us repeat the toppings we wanted. after 20 minutes, we finally left with our sandwiches. the sandwiches themselves are just fine. fulfilling, but average. my boyfriend wasn't a fan of the bread; it was reheated in the microwave and became tough again after a few minutes. we got free cookies with our sandwiches though, so that was a nice touch! but i'd rather go to subway where i could get nearly the same quality sandwiches for more competent service. read more

This mr pickles location is hit or miss. I've ordered from here twice, once through doordash and the order was perfect and the 2nd time through online for pickup and it was disappointing. First off, there is not great parking. They have a very tiny lot, maybe 5 spaces. The rest is street parking. I had to park a block over and around the corner. Lots of dealerships and other such businesses in the area so I'm sure it's very convenient for them to just walk over. I ordered a half sandwich with requested extra of all veggies minus tomatoes. I got basically no veggies or even lettuce. The meat was also halfway off the bread, they were definitely rushing to get orders out and they honestly weren't busy in person unless they had tons of online/pick up orders, which we can't gauge from the other side of the counter. Chips and cookie both tasted stale as well. Mr pickles locations usually have perfectly soft gooey cookies. May try through doordash again at this location if I need a mr pickles fix. read more

Eh, I always enjoyed this sandwich spot, but the last few times we've ordered from here it hasn't been good. Today they got it all wrong for my pick-up order. I called in and ordered two sandwiches, 1- a Tom Turkey, full size on a Sweet Roll with mayonnaise, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes and provolone not Swiss cheese; 2 - a Tri-Tip, full size on a Sweet Roll, everything that typically comes on there except NO onions. That's it, not hard to do. Drove there, grabbed the sandwiches and headed back home to enjoy. NOPE! My sons Tom Turkey had mayonnaise, mustard and ONIONS!!!! My Tri-Tip sandwich had lettuce and tomatoes, NOTHING else. I don't know if the ownership changed recently, but it's definitely not anything like before Covid. I have been coming here for about eight or nine years. The quality of the sandwiches have always been really good. As of lately, I have had two of my orders made incorrectly. I simply get a turkey with cheddar and mustard and mayo only. Today when I picked up my sandwich and got home, I noticed that they didn't put any cheese, mustard or mayo, and there was only enough meat to cover half of the bread. Also the person that answered the phone and took my order couldn't understand what I was saying, even though I was speaking very clearly and have never had a problem before. I bought a trip sandwich with my favorite condiments on it (I consider trying the horse radish) I order online along with my other co-workers and I picked the option ASAP so we can receive it quicker. Man, I just loooove me some Mr. Pickles! I'm that girl who doesn't eat sandwiches too often. But when I do, Mr. Pickles ranks high on my totem pole! My love for Mr. Pickles began some years ago when I worked in Walnut Creek. Their Walnut Creek shop was walking distance from where I used to work, and my fellow coworkers and I would go there at least once a week for a sandwich. Once I stopped working in Walnut Creek, it was nearly impossible for me to get there before they closed and back then, they weren't open on the weekends. Fast forward to now: I no longer have to trek down to Walnut Creek to get one of their delicious sandwiches! This location is way closer to where I live and is located right on the corner of Market and Broadway right across from Lexus of Concord. If you're lucky, you might even get a chance to see their mascot Mr. Pickle busting a move when you're driving by! The nice thing about this location is that they have a small parking lot right in the back of the building that's usually never full. I'll admit it... I can be a creature of habit with certain foods, especially when it comes to sandwiches. My go-to sandwich here is their club sandwich on a toasted Dutch crunch roll. Talk about addiction! I used to eat this sandwich faithfully once a week when I worked in Walnut Creek. The club consists of roasted turkey, Black Forest ham, bacon, cheddar, tomato, lettuce, and Mayo. I usually get "everything" on it(mustard, garlic sauce, onions, peppercinis, and of course... pickles!), and I get it toasted so that the bacon is crispy and that cheese is all ooey gooey and melty! Mmm! One major factor that always has me coming back here is their consistency! They consistently make my sandwich just the way that I like it almost every single time! Their ingredients are fresh and they never skimp on the condiments! Not to mention, they PACK their sandwiches in meaty goodness like whoa! I have never left hungry after eating a sandwich from here. They always throw in a delicious chocolate chip cookie with your order! The inside is always bright and clean and the people at the counter have always been extremely pleasant. I only wish that they were open later, but it's a sandwich shop so their hours are pretty standard. I also love that I can order online and pick it up if I don't want to wait in line, and the online ordering system saves my previous sandwich orders. Most of the sandwiches here are under $10 which a steal given how huge their sandwiches are! Oh wow.....what a fun trip to Mr. Pickles on Sunday. Incredible sandwiches. Friendly and fun service. Conscientious employees save the day! We had a group of 7 and all of us absolutely loved our sandwiches. They were all completely different ....from a veggie, to a big beef, a secret menu tuna sandwich, a chopped spicy chicken, a killer Italian sandwich, Turkey & cheddar & a Turkey club. My wife could not stop raving about her veggie sandwich on marbled rye. My special tuna salad sandwich on Dutch Crunch was spectacular fortunately the sandwich maker extraordinaire Antonio asked me if I wanted it hot or not to be sure. It was from the secret menu so I thought "hot" meant they were going to put something spicy on it. Fortunately he asked if I wanted it hot. HECK NO! I hate hot tuna salad. Doesn't everyone?? Anyways.... the service was fast and friendly tire team of workers seem to be having a good time and we're all very helpful. I've been to Mr. Pickle sandwich shops in San Ramon, Antioch and Walnut Creek but this one in Concord is by far the best. My way of thinking there's only three places to get sandwiches in our area... Mr. Pickles and Concord, the Larkey Market in Walnut Creek, and Canesa's in Clayton! And Mr. pickles has by far the biggest selection.
