Down from Portland OR here in Concord visiting family. Got into town after the 10 hour drive and really needed some noms as we had rumbly tummies. We'd discovered Habit Burger in Redding about 8 years back, and we're pleasantly surprised to discover one only a block from our hotel. Friday evening 7:30 and we showed up to a pretty packed place, but still managed a table within a few minutes. I had the Portabello Burger which was super tasty. Beef, veggies, cheese and a bunch of Portabello chunks made for a wonderful and savory two-hander. Wife's more run of the mill burger was also as good as expected, as were their crispy onion rings. The entire meal for two with drink came to $27, the same price as a single burger in the hotel. Very happy. The burgers here are consistently good even over a decade and 200 miles separating my last Habit Burger from this one. Best burgers in the area. read more

Decent burger, not sure if it is habit worthy. I was a first timer at Habit Burger Grill. Parking is ok but the traffic near the area can be difficult during lunchtime. I got a free cheeseburger for my birthday. If you sign up for their loyalty club, you can get one for free. My cheeseburger was moist and juicy. I asked for extra veggies hoping to get some type of nutrition for lunch. It hit the spot. Service was ok, probably decent for a fast food chain. Decided to give The Habit another chance after many years. I have gone back twice now in the last 2 weeks. Both times I placed my lunch order online or through their app. It was ready by the time I walked over from my office. I ordered the Charburger with cheese. I'm lightweight addicted to this burger chain. That charburger and those sweet potato fries just does something to my soul. It's oh so delicious! I usually frequent the Walnut Creek location off Geary, but I've come here the last 3 times and the food is just as good as you would expect. I rarely ever stray away from my usual. Double char with cheese and sub the grilled onions for raw ones plus an order of sweet potato fries with a side of garlic aioli for dipping. If you ain't tried it by now, then you are certainly missing out in life. I used to not be into charbroiled burgers, but The Habit literally changed all of that for me. Now I crave these damn things even more than I do an In N Out Burger, and that's saying A LOT from a diehard In N Out fan. Those charburgers. Aww yeah. They be juicier than a mug. Cheese is all melted and veggies be all fresh. Me loves it, me loves it a lot. And those sweet potato fries be hittin' too. I don't know how I got onto this, but I can't have the fries without dipping them in garlic aioli. It's honestly not really a dipping sauce, but they always give me a little container of it when I ask for it. If you haven't tried this combo yet, go ahead and do that. It'll change your life boooyyee. Seriously. Well... it changed mine. I can never go back to just having ketchup or ranch with those sweet potato fries. Never, never, never! I usually skip the drinks, but every so often I'll splurge on a milkshake. Their milkshakes are quite delicious and I love when they bring out their seasonal flavors. Their tenderloin sandwich is actually quite tasty too. Had it a few months ago and it really hit the spot. Tender meat on some perfectly crispy ciabatta bread! It most certainly does the trick. Service for the most part has been good. I usually try to order ahead to avoid the wait, but this location is much less busy than their Walnut Creek Geary location. I have dined in a few times and they seem to keep the interior space pretty clean. All time favorite. Never gets old. They are always so busy. I sometimes go to the Antioch location and everytime there is one spot on the floor near the registers that causes me to almost slip and fall really bad. They are lucky I'm always able to get my balance back. Concord and Walnut Creek Locations great. Antioch not so much. read more

It's hard to be fair when you aren't satisfied with the service, but the food was good here. Wasn't greeted upon entry and no one stepped up to take my order so I went to one of three kiosks available. I ordered a Santa Barbara style char along with a drink and fries. I had to wait around 3 minutes for one of the employees to stop chatting and hand me a cup. They are not available for anyone to just grab them. Bathrooms were tidy, just out of paper towels. When my order was ready (it was soon out) I only had one small cup of ranch, half full. I asked if I could get another one because that was nowhere near enough ranch for even just my fries. The same employee from before lazily walked over and told me that it cost 60¢ for another one of those half full cups. Ridiculous. I doubt I'll come back again. Called in and made an order. Showed up to the restaurant and they were clueless to my order. I just got off work late, I didn't think I was that tired that I imagined ordering and not actually ordering it. Checked my phone and showed them the call time, and the text alert with confirmation. Shows my order and my order number. The manager refused giving me anything and stated there is no order, as if I fabricated the entire call and text messages. I had to call again as he said they don't take phone orders. Their corporate conformed my order, informed him I paid already as well., and still this guy just couldn't believe it. Good Covid-19 safety measures (masks, signs, take out only, hand sanitizer, markings on floor, plexi-glass, curbside pick up) in place and being utilized. This "the Habit" is located in a little outdoor shopping center with a few other businesses. Despite a good flow of patrons at the Habit, parking in the shared lot was easy. Our visit was at 1pm-ish. We ordered a Veggie Burger and the BBQ Chicken Burger at the counter and waited outside for our number to be called (per protocol). There were about 5 orders ahead of us, our wait was about 10 minutes. When we picked up our food, I checked the bag and discovered part of our order was wrong. Fortunately, the issue was remedied promptly. A quick trip back inside and 5 minutes later, the order was fixed and we were on our way. Our food was well packaged, in good portion, warm, tasty and filling. Pricing was good. Service was good. I was happy with how smoothly the issue was resolved. The unisex, single user restrooms were very clean and functional. Glad we made a pitstop here. read more

Was on my way from getting my car fixed and was craving a burger again. This was located near the dealership, so I decided to mobile order for a quick pick up. Inside, they have plexiglass and promoted social distancing. You can eat either inside or outside. All the employees had masks and gloves on. The wait time was surprisingly perfect. I ordered at 11:55 and was told on my App that it would be 10 min. I arrived at 12:00 (5 min early) and the lady at the counter told me they are working on my order and it will be ready in 5 min. I waited outside and then, lo and behold, my name was called in exactly 5 min. Kudos to the team for getting my order on time. The burger isn't super spectacular like a gourmet burger, but it was still decent and what I expected. It was a tad bit salty for me, but the fries I ordered were amazing. I asked for extra crispy and it came out super crispy and crunchy. Overall, not bad for a quick bite to eat. I came in during the lunch rush and saw on their monitor screen a lot of orders. This location of The Habit Burger is awesome. The first thing I notice is how clean it is. Every time I return it always looks shiny and new. The next thing is the customer service. The people here are always polite and friendly. I sincerely appreciate that. Next is the smell in the air. I can see and smell fresh food being prepared and cooked. The kitchen is open and on display to the front counter. Very reassuring, and makes me hungry too! Lol I love a well run business, where people take pride in their chosen responsibilities and operate with integrity. I believe this location has two managers, and they both are very diligent and sincere in their efforts. They go the extra mile to make sure everything is top notch. That translates directly to everything else in this little burger joint. I'll add that I've eaten here multiple times and always had a clean, delicious fresh prepared meal. I have tried a couple other Habit locations, but they didn't leave an impression. I was having a great experience at this location until the male manager rudely began screaming at a customer over ranch. The food was so excellent tonight. The women who initially took our order were very friendly. Once our buzzer went off my partner asked for 3 ranches to go with our order. The woman gladly gave them to us. Halfway through our meal, a man walked in to pick up his order. The male manager gave him his large bag of food. The male customer asked for extra ranches to go with his order. The manager began to raise his voice while explaining that he has to pay for any extra ranch. The male customer said "I have a huge order with 6 burgers and fries and you can't give me 3 extra ranches?". All of the sudden the manager was screaming asking the customer to leave being completely unreasonable. His fellow employees eventually calmed him down, since it was clear who was in the wrong. Welp.. a place if you just want anything to eat and have NO other options. I have a Habit back home that's fairly consistent, soggy burgers but good sweet potato fries and coffee malts! For this location, I noticed the sad reviews but Thought maybe they just had a couple off days. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case. This location just goes to show the amount of potential LOST for the standard they appear to give off. Two issues. (1) Nobody likes a wrong order, since orders are pretty simple. I ordered a coffee malt, but received chocolate malt. Upon letting them know, they remade the order but just gave me vanilla shake. Lol, a photo has been attached for reference on what they think are both coffee malts (both very distinct colors...also neither coffee malt) I come to Habit locations for their coffee malts specifically, so I am aware of how it should look and taste and these are not it... on the plus side, the vanilla shake was not melty so for that I give the stars. (2) Either the bread or the oil used needs to go. Something totally off about the SB Char sandwich, the bread smelled/tasted like....metallic cardboard if it existed. :l Our other burger didn't have that. Such a bummer experience. read more

First off, I love the taste of a Habit burger. The fries are good, if they're hot. We've been coming here since they opened. Delivery and drive up has had some issues, but The Habit compensated us when we've had problems. Lesson learned: no delivery. Double check order before leaving. This Habit located off of Concord Ave., on the other side of the shopping center where Trader Joe's is, has plenty of direct competition on the food front, with Panda Express, Blaze Pizza, and others, there's plenty to choose from when you're here. This location is nice, particular during COVID times (which I'll speak to in a bit), as it's spacious inside and out. While the inside can seat plenty, though right now it's restricted, the outdoor section now has just as many available tables. Though it actually feels like since the lockdown restrictions, there are actually even more tables outside than before the start of COVID to sit at now. But make sure to get here at not a peak time, or you may have to find a table inside as opposed to out in the nice recent weather and ready for the summer. First, we will talk about the service here. It's...hit or miss. I've been to this location a lot throughout the years after this little strip was built, and they moved in. And it's gone through a lot of staff changes throughout that time. Each time I come here, it just feels like a different experience, so at best, I can say the service is inconsistent. Of course, fast food service as it is will have high turnover, but this specific location just feels like there's never the same staff there for too long, and every 6 months it feels like a completely different crew. The current staffing here seems okay, as they are efficient in cutting down a long line of people quite quickly, and when I left the store and came back, everyone had already moved outdoors waiting for their food to be ready. The food here is generally pretty consistent, throughout all of the staffing changes that tends to occur. Though, there have been several instances where I've received a wrong part of my order, but through each time, the management has always been good on remedying the issue, so can't complain there. Now, let's talk the food today. The food this time was good as usual. I got the tri-tip sandwich, the brunch burger, and the chicken bites. The tri-tip sandwich is one of my mainstays, and regular things I'll always get here. The meat here is generally pretty good, but it will also vastly depend on the cooking temp of the meat. I don't like the fact that they removed the option to choose if you want your steak cooked a certain way with online order, so this is strictly feedback that I hope will be passed on to those who manage the website. But if the meat they use really has to be cooked just right for it to be optimal, as too rare their meat is far too chewy, and too well-done the meat is very tough. It needs to be just right. The tri-tip this time was good, but not great. The brunch sandwich was new to me, and looked interesting. The sandwich was indeed brunchy, but also tasty. Gave off a nice breakfast sandwich type of feel to it, but the regular burger patty made it more lunchy. Tater tots and the nice layer of cheese was a nice touch. Chicken bites, also no complaints, they were tasty, and fried just right. Batter was good, so that makes a big difference. This is a decent location, but just be aware that their timing may be off, even if you ordered online. My order wasn't ready when I got there, so I was told another 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, I came back to get my order as promised, however, after I got home there was no ranch or any sauce for my chicken even though I had asked for it on my order. Waiting a bit longer is one thing, but making me wait a bit longer, and still didn't complete my order was a bit of a letdown. Pricing here is affordable comparatively to other burger places around, and there's a lot of them. Overall, good burger spot, but I generally like to order their stuff that aren't necessarily burger focused. Tri-tip sandwich is always a recommendation I'd give, but make sure to order in person so u can choose the cooking temp for your meat. read more
