P's Way is the only way. That's literally what I'd tell someone if they were confused about what kind of wings to get. You look at the description and you almost wonder if all of that is a little...too much. I'm here to tell you that it's not. It's the only way. There's just something about the zing and tang of combining both the Lemon Pepper with the Buffalo sauce that takes the flavors to a whole new level. On top of that you get a hint of sweetness with the hot honey. These are some of my favorite wings in town. Possibly actual favorite. I need to come back and have them again really soon. But just know that if you are wings fan, you gotta try P's Way. The Fish and Chips and Mac were also good. The Fish seemed a little less flavorful than I thought it was gonna be. The fries made it up for them though. I couldn't stop munching on those. The Mac was solid. Nothing out of the ordinary, but a just really good dish that was straight to the point. I just obviously was super obsessed with these wings when I went. The inside is very homey. Has a more publike vibe. I walk in and almost imagine that I'm on the water or at a pier or something. The people working here are usually very nice. The very last time I came here a guy took my order and forgot one of our items but I think he was new. Luckily this girl with a long blonde ponytail who had served us before asked us if we got everything. When we told her about our missing item she apologized a whole bunch and made everything better. Oh and of course they have amazing beers. Our favorites are the rotation of Dark Beers, Mexican Lagers and Ciders that they have. We have yet to ever have a bad pour. Im pretty sure if you like beer there should be something for everyone. Even Wine slushies if you don't care for beer. Hillside was one of me and my wife's places we would go to when we shortly lived in Martinez. Even though we are a bridge away, we can't wait to come back sometime soon.

Torn between 3.5 and 4 stars so rounded up. Popped in on a Thurs and it was pretty quiet but service was great. Food was solid as noted below. Bellini cocktail was enjoyed by the wife. Tall pour of Wondrous IPA was delicious, just wish the glass wasn't frozen. Remembered they were in Concord as Hillside Dogs and this is a step up. Clam Chowder.... tasty, not fishy, good consistency Spicy Chicken Sando..... not very spicy, tender chicken, tasty slaw, good bread, decent sandwich. Fries were very tasty! Fisher & Chips... bit bready, mild fishy taste, big meal for a single female, fries were superb. Overall, decent experience. Looks like easy parking - we had parked a few blocks away to visit another spot and walked over.

We stopped in before watching the sturgeon's play at the nearby ball field. Quite welcoming and a very old school vibe. Love the fun antique fishing gear and all of the local beer on tap. We had a couple of drinks... I had a nicely chilled rose wine and Keith had a red beer. Drinks were perfect and Keith loved the red beer. You do have to walk up to the register to order food, so just note you can't order while sitting at the bar. I ordered fried calamari and a fresh rice bowl with grilled shrimp. The calamari was delicious with a light batter and very tender! Came with 2 dips a tartar and spicy marinara. The rice bowl was huge and so amazingly fresh! We will definitely come here again... great service, vibe, drinks, and food!

Best selection of beers in the area. Local breweries are fun but for more of a variety this is the spot! If you're looking for a chill spot to decompress this is the place!

This is a great spot for fish and chips but the wings were also delicious...and I could've drank at 3 frozen lemonades...plus the service was excellent and I love the atmosphere!

Beer selection is Awesome! 12 Taps, They recommend the 'Father knows West' From Morgan Territory for a West Coast IPA. Nice, clean WCIPA with a Very Smooth Finish! Cant wait to come back and try the rest of the beer selections! Great, friendly & inviting customer service too!

    Chicago Dog
    Douglas M.

I ordered a Chicago Dog (4 Stars) The dog was good size with flavorful. The bun was not a traditional poppy seed bun but rather a soft roll, I'm sure they use the same roll for all the dogs. It holds up to all the ingredients. They put on all the traditional Chicago Dog stuff but use normal sweet relish which is much better than the true Chicago bright green. Overall guys stuff! Until next time..

This place looked like a cool little spot to check out in Martinez. Way more expensive than I expected though. Food was okay but not even close to worth the price I paid to eat and drink. Restaurant was clean and welcoming. Service was sub par as the server just didn't attend to us at all. Maybe skip this place if your in the area.

The place has been redone, looks nice inside, just don't look too close; i.e., started off sitting by the windows only to notice lots of little dead bugs in the sill, we moved. You order first, then take a seat. The gal was nice, took our order. There was an order of the Spicy Chicken Sando & a side of Chili Bowl & 2 slushes of the day. Not trying to be mean here, yet the chili tasted canned - meh . The spicy chicken was, I'm lacking the words, messy, a tad ? Okay in short not great - meh That leaves the 2 slushes - if I was at the marina & it was a hot day I'd stop by & get one. In short not my type of place; I'm sure it's someone else's as an acquaintance suggested it & we obviously have very different tastes in foods.

What started as a convenient local hangout has become one of our favorite places over the last three years. Hop Grenade has truly become a second home. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and genuinely care about their customers. We love seeing familiar faces and catching up with the regulars. It has such a great community feel that can be hard to find these days. The beer selection is hands down one of the best around, and the prices are hard to beat. I also love that they've expanded their offerings to include wine and wine-based cocktails, which means there's something for everyone. The food is great too! We always look forward to Wing Wednesday, and the flatbreads are one of our go-to orders. One of our favorite things about Hop Grenade is bringing friends and family here when they're visiting from out of town. We recently took some wedding guests to the Thursday night music and market event, and they absolutely loved it. One of them even joked that he was ready to move here after experiencing the atmosphere. That's the kind of place Hop Grenade is...it makes people feel welcome and part of the community right away. Because Hop Grenade has been such a big part of our lives, booking the Tap Bus for our wedding was a no-brainer. It felt special to incorporate something so personal to us into our big day. For those who don't know, Hop Grenade has an awesome vintage VW bus outfitted with taps. Not only did it make for a unique and fun focal point at our wedding, but it also served some of the best beer, cider, seltzer, and wine our guests could ask for. We received so many compliments throughout the night about both the Tap Bus and the drink selection. Justin and his team were fantastic to work with from start to finish and helped make our wedding even more memorable. Whether you're stopping by for a drink, grabbing some food, attending one of their community events, or looking for a unique beverage service for an event, Hop Grenade delivers every time. We're lucky to have them in our community and can't recommend them enough.

I'm afraid of sharing their specials that the place will start getting so packed where we can't get a table anymore lol but here it goes. I have came to the Hop Grenade for years and they have never disappointed. Their beers are delicious and always have a great menu to choose from. They have clean accessible bathrooms and parking is hit and miss since it is in the middle of downtown. They do allow dogs but only outside not inside. So they have their wing special on Wednesday's which is the big secret I didn't want to share. One because their wings are the best wings I've ever had. On top of that their flatbread pizza is amazing as well. Like they make their own dough or something. But this is the brewery to hit up if you want some delicious food and great beer. Put it this way, for me the wings and pizza are that good where I order take out lol. Oh ya and their service is top notch.

Starting with the Mt. Beautiful Estate Sauvignon Blanc, found this good. It's good, but not great. It's a decent wine but I think there are other more interesting Australian wines out there. The Rabble Rosé from Paso Robles was crisp with just an edge of tart. Like roasted strawberries, if that makes sense. And the Seaglass Riesling from the central coast is now a fave. It's a sweeter wine and a good end to a tasting, for sure. Glad I explored that one. It far exceeded my expectations. The vibe is good. The team is wonderful, caring and attentive, even if their internet went down and they weren't able to process cards quickly. They kept their frustrations focused on the tech and their attention on their customers. And the people who come in - there for a good time. This was our first experience here. I was not allowed with my 5 month old baby to have a glass of wine in the patio. I was told there's a "no under 21" rule that apparently includes babies. That honestly didn't make sense to me. this is an infant, not even eating solid food yet. I've been to wineries in Napa with my baby and never had an issue, so this felt unwelcoming. This felt like a made up rule to protect non-mother customers, and Benicia is known for that. Horrible. What made it worse was how it was handled. The waitress(blonde, short hair mid-aged lady) came off rude and said, "no under 21, sorry--unless it's a dog haha," and then told me I could go to the taphouse on the corner. It felt dismissive and unprofessional. I even tried calling afterward to speak with a manager, but no one answered. Overall, it left a really bad impression, and I don't feel comfortable coming back after this.
