Nice cold craft beer. Got a "tall" which is a 24 oz and the glass was nice and frozen. Had a tasty hazy from Oakland. Tasted fresh but didn't last very long in my glass unfortunately . Visiting from Sacramento and wow, we're right next to the train. Station! So a bit loud but also very cool.

We stopped in before watching the sturgeon's play at the nearby ball field. Quite welcoming and a very old school vibe. Love the fun antique fishing gear and all of the local beer on tap. We had a couple of drinks... I had a nicely chilled rose wine and Keith had a red beer. Drinks were perfect and Keith loved the red beer. You do have to walk up to the register to order food, so just note you can't order while sitting at the bar. I ordered fried calamari and a fresh rice bowl with grilled shrimp. The calamari was delicious with a light batter and very tender! Came with 2 dips a tartar and spicy marinara. The rice bowl was huge and so amazingly fresh! We will definitely come here again... great service, vibe, drinks, and food!

Best selection of beers in the area. Local breweries are fun but for more of a variety this is the spot! If you're looking for a chill spot to decompress this is the place!

    Chicago Dog

I ordered a Chicago Dog (4 Stars) The dog was good size with flavorful. The bun was not a traditional poppy seed bun but rather a soft roll, I'm sure they use the same roll for all the dogs. It holds up to all the ingredients. They put on all the traditional Chicago Dog stuff but use normal sweet relish which is much better than the true Chicago bright green. Overall guys stuff! Until next time..

This is a great spot for fish and chips but the wings were also delicious...and I could've drank at 3 frozen lemonades...plus the service was excellent and I love the atmosphere!

This place looked like a cool little spot to check out in Martinez. Way more expensive than I expected though. Food was okay but not even close to worth the price I paid to eat and drink. Restaurant was clean and welcoming. Service was sub par as the server just didn't attend to us at all. Maybe skip this place if your in the area.

The place has been redone, looks nice inside, just don't look too close; i.e., started off sitting by the windows only to notice lots of little dead bugs in the sill, we moved. You order first, then take a seat. The gal was nice, took our order. There was an order of the Spicy Chicken Sando & a side of Chili Bowl & 2 slushes of the day. Not trying to be mean here, yet the chili tasted canned - meh . The spicy chicken was, I'm lacking the words, messy, a tad ? Okay in short not great - meh That leaves the 2 slushes - if I was at the marina & it was a hot day I'd stop by & get one. In short not my type of place; I'm sure it's someone else's as an acquaintance suggested it & we obviously have very different tastes in foods.

Beer selection is Awesome! 12 Taps, They recommend the 'Father knows West' From Morgan Territory for a West Coast IPA. Nice, clean WCIPA with a Very Smooth Finish! Cant wait to come back and try the rest of the beer selections! Great, friendly & inviting customer service too!

What started as a convenient local hangout has become one of our favorite places over the last three years. Hop Grenade has truly become a second home. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and genuinely care about their customers. We love seeing familiar faces and catching up with the regulars. It has such a great community feel that can be hard to find these days. The beer selection is hands down one of the best around, and the prices are hard to beat. I also love that they've expanded their offerings to include wine and wine-based cocktails, which means there's something for everyone. The food is great too! We always look forward to Wing Wednesday, and the flatbreads are one of our go-to orders. One of our favorite things about Hop Grenade is bringing friends and family here when they're visiting from out of town. We recently took some wedding guests to the Thursday night music and market event, and they absolutely loved it. One of them even joked that he was ready to move here after experiencing the atmosphere. That's the kind of place Hop Grenade is...it makes people feel welcome and part of the community right away. Because Hop Grenade has been such a big part of our lives, booking the Tap Bus for our wedding was a no-brainer. It felt special to incorporate something so personal to us into our big day. For those who don't know, Hop Grenade has an awesome vintage VW bus outfitted with taps. Not only did it make for a unique and fun focal point at our wedding, but it also served some of the best beer, cider, seltzer, and wine our guests could ask for. We received so many compliments throughout the night about both the Tap Bus and the drink selection. Justin and his team were fantastic to work with from start to finish and helped make our wedding even more memorable. Whether you're stopping by for a drink, grabbing some food, attending one of their community events, or looking for a unique beverage service for an event, Hop Grenade delivers every time. We're lucky to have them in our community and can't recommend them enough.

Starting with the Mt. Beautiful Estate Sauvignon Blanc, found this good. It's good, but not great. It's a decent wine but I think there are other more interesting Australian wines out there. The Rabble Rosé from Paso Robles was crisp with just an edge of tart. Like roasted strawberries, if that makes sense. And the Seaglass Riesling from the central coast is now a fave. It's a sweeter wine and a good end to a tasting, for sure. Glad I explored that one. It far exceeded my expectations. The vibe is good. The team is wonderful, caring and attentive, even if their internet went down and they weren't able to process cards quickly. They kept their frustrations focused on the tech and their attention on their customers. And the people who come in - there for a good time. This was our first experience here. I was not allowed with my 5 month old baby to have a glass of wine in the patio. I was told there's a "no under 21" rule that apparently includes babies. That honestly didn't make sense to me. this is an infant, not even eating solid food yet. I've been to wineries in Napa with my baby and never had an issue, so this felt unwelcoming. This felt like a made up rule to protect non-mother customers, and Benicia is known for that. Horrible. What made it worse was how it was handled. The waitress(blonde, short hair mid-aged lady) came off rude and said, "no under 21, sorry--unless it's a dog haha," and then told me I could go to the taphouse on the corner. It felt dismissive and unprofessional. I even tried calling afterward to speak with a manager, but no one answered. Overall, it left a really bad impression, and I don't feel comfortable coming back after this.

Super personable, great energy, and made the whole experience feel effortless. I ordered the peanut butter and jelly burger--smash-style patty with bacon, peanut butter, jelly, Tabasco, and pickles--and wow... one of the most unique and satisfying burgers I've had in a long time. It hits that perfect balance of savory, sweet, and nostalgic. I asked Paul what he would pair with it, and he absolutely nailed it. He introduced me to "Chimp My Ride" from Solano Brewing Company, a rich stout with chocolate and peanut butter notes that complemented the burger perfectly. It honestly brought back that childhood lunchbox feeling in the best way possible. On top of that, Chef Jamie personally brought out the food and took the time to connect--great conversation, great presence, and you can tell there's real pride behind what they're doing here. Within minutes, I knew I'd found exactly where I wanted to spend a hot summer afternoon. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between neighborhood tavern and craft beer destination. Vintage bicycles hang overhead, dozens of rotating taps line the wall, and the energy is lively without ever feeling chaotic. Whether you're catching the match, meeting friends after work, or simply escaping the summer heat, Rustwater has that welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay for another round. Following the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the Chicken Ciabatta from the specials board with a side of crispy tater tots, and it was absolutely the right call. The sandwich arrived beautifully presented on a perfectly toasted ciabatta roll with just the right amount of crunch. Inside was juicy grilled chicken layered with smoky bacon, melted provolone, crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and a flavorful pesto mayo that brought everything together without overpowering the fresh ingredients. Every bite delivered a wonderful combination of textures and balanced flavors. The tater tots were exactly what great tavern food should be, golden, crisp, and light on the outside with a fluffy interior. They became downright addictive when dipped into a combination of ketchup and a Ghost Hot Sauce that once they are out they are out adding a slow-building kick that complemented the crispy potatoes perfectly. As I enjoyed a cold pint from their outstanding rotating tap list, Spain put the finishing touches on a 2-0 victory over France, sending them to the World Cup Final. Great soccer, an exceptional craft beer, and a fantastic lunch, it doesn't get much better than that on a scorching summer afternoon. Rustwater has earned its reputation over the years, and it's easy to understand why. Friendly service, an outstanding craft beer program, elevated tavern food, and an atmosphere that invites you to linger long after the final whistle. If you're looking for one of downtown Fairfield's best spots to enjoy creative tavern fare, explore an ever-changing lineup of craft beers, and catch the big game, Rustwater Kitchen & Taproom deserves a place on your list. I'll definitely be back to see what's on tap next, and without question, those crispy tater tots will be making another appearance on my table with the ghost hot sauce, if still available, due to the company going out of business.
