Banana Bread Latte
Emily Y.

I've been meaning to try this coffee spot for a while and I'm glad I stopped by after work! I ordered inside and waited outside for my drink. I got the banana bread latte (one of their most popular drinks) and it was super yummy!! I can see why it's their popular, would love to get again. You can also order ahead online on their app :) Only downside is downtown Walnut Creek parking is bad, I was lucky enough to find street parking and walked to Panama Bay Coffee. But overall worth it.

I need their gluten free focaccia. It's crispy but fluffy and SO tasty. Their gluten free treats are pretty good too! Parking is iffy but if you're early it's not bad. The staff are very kind and love a little chat! Not much seating so it's a good place to grab a quick snack or breakfast to go. For matchas, not the best- a little milky but if I'm needed a sweet treat this place has fun flavors and plenty of other refreshing options!

Limited street parking. It's located across the street from the Lesher Arts building. The set up is a little different. The pick up window faces N. Main street. To order you enter on the right side of the building. Very quaint inside, no inside seating. There is limited outdoor seating. The day I visited they were unable to do any espresso based drinks as the machine was out of order. They do have drip coffee options, blended coffee options as well as limited selection of pastries. I tried the mocha it was very sweet. Overall service was good, but was not impressed with my beverage.

Ava took my order and was super friendly welcoming me in and pointed out their many flavor shot options. We made small talk about the little frog that was rescued and now a member of the shop as seen in the photo. She asked how I heard about them and I told her my aunt recommended it to me for the castle-like aesthetic. Though, that was just a bonus as my order was delicious too! I ordered the Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin, which was perfectly moist. It was more on the chocolaty side, which I personally love, but the banana gave it that bouncy texture. I also got an Iced Mocha with Butterscotch, oat milk, and no whipped cream. It was delicious and the perfect balance between chocolate and butterscotch. I was happy that I could actually taste the butterscotch flavoring without it being overly sweet. Next time, I would like to try one of their breakfast sandwiches and I would be curious to know if they have for-here ware to enjoy the beautiful scenery for longer. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a small coffee shop with delicious pastries and a wide-variety of coffee flavors!

My partner and I hit the road at 5am last friday to drive back home for HOURS. an hour in, we decided we needed some coffee so I searched for some coffee shops on the way home and found this place. At first we both thought it was going to be a cheap espresso and coffee pot shops so our expectations weren't very high yet once we arrived we completely changed our minds. The exterior is cottage-y and whimsical which we thought was cute since the rest of the neighboring buildings were nice apartments and buildings. When you walk in, the 2 female workers were super friendly by greeting us and starting to chat with us about our day. They have a HUGE list of coffee syrups to pick from which was great since we love different flavors yet not many places have the flavors we want! The workers were freshly making their breakfast sandwiches on croissants and asked if we wanted one because they smelled wonderful. My partner got an iced banana latte and a sandwich. He said the sandwich was delicious and devoured it all. As well as his coffee, I tried some and they perfectly added just enough banana just so it's not too sweet nor to bland. I love pour overs, yet again not many offer them, but they had a long list of pours overs to pick from! I ended up taking the workers advice and trying the Mayan which is a spiced chocolate and cinnamon notes. Usually in pour overs, people mess them up and you can't really taste the notes or anything so it's just a black coffee. My standards still weren't very high yet as K watched them make the pour over, I trusted them a little more because they'd perfectly time it and watch everything. Once I tried it, I was taken back. It was really chocolaty and spiced! Like I took a bite of a spicy chocolate bar! I was head over heels for this pour over. The workers wished us safe travels as we left and we couldn't stop talking about how good their coffee was. It's been a few days and I'm craving another pour over so bad from this place. I highly recommend stopping at this place if you're in the area or if you want some good coffee! From the sandwiches to the pour overs, it seems like they perfected it all.

Small and casual but worth the stop. Really nice staff and a good variety or drinks. I got a peach green tea which was perfect for the summer heat. I will be back again and would recommend them.

Panama Bay Coffee Shop is a super cute & small cafe! It's like a little fairy home, and has such a unique charm -- I especially loved the pollinator plants in their tiny garden. The space inside is very small, It's definitely a spot to grab (your coffee & pastry) and go, especially on these rainy days. There wasn't any indoor seating, but there is some outdoor seating available, but they weren't set up today as I imagine it's because its a rainy day. I was served by Sydney, she was quick to take my order which was a hot English Toffee Chai and a banana walnut muffin. Both of these were pretty good, but the more sips I took of my chai, the more I couldn't help but think "this tastes like bone broth" lol. It was intriguing, but I probably wouldn't get this drink again. The muffin was really good and quite big! I'd love to come back here on a sunny day to try another drink & treat.

What an unassuming but lovely coffee shop! The line was long but it moved very quickly. Everyone behind the counter was friendly and helpful. I got an iced chai and jalapeño and bacon scone and they were both delicious! They have a very impressive list of syrups so I will definitely be back to try some of their fun drink combinations/flavors!

This Banana Walnut muffin is Pure Deliciousness! The Friendly Chef was telling me she wakes up very early to bake these tasty goodies for her customers. & let me tell you, you can taste the freshness ! Very much appreciated, Thankyou!

We also got one cheese borek which was great! I picked the Iced double berry matcha latte topped with an ube berry cold foam. All it tasted of was a bland ube/matcha flavor. The strawberry syrup/jam smeared on the inside had a slight sweetness which made the drink slightly better. I assumed the drink would be sweet, while ordering it gave me a milk option and I skimmed through the additions (which all had a charge associated with it, unless I missed something?) the price for that drink was steep. ($8.45) The Cream cheese bun was ok. Something I could have made from home. It's basically a sourdough loaf with cream cheese smeared into sections of the bread and dunked into garlic butter and warmed up. I was shocked at the price, but got one anyway. ($15) The place is small, cozy and bright. Workers are friendly. I might give them a try the next time I visit downtown. But I'll order a drink in person at the counter and ask if it comes sweetened.

For starters , there was no acknowledgment/greeting upon arrival. This immediately made me not want to spend my hard earned money here! The barista didn't offer any help or clarification on the menu after I explained that this is my first time visiting. I was interested in trying some of their unique pastries but due to broken machinery , they were extremely limited on pastries. I brush that inconvenience under the rug, because that is obviously out of their control. So I proceeded with ordering a breakfast sandwich on a croissant, then the barista informs me that they are out of croissants , okay.. no biggie, so I told him I'll have the sandwich with sourdough with an additional up charge to add bacon and ham. 3 minutes after paying , the barista then tells me they are also out of sourdough... so at this point, I told the barista to just use whatever bread they had available. I then received my ice vanilla bean mocha , which was a 4/10 . Nothing spectacular about this drink. Would rather have my boyfriend make me a latte with his AeroPress. Lastly, I receive my breakfast sandwich and realized after leaving Lever Coffee shop that they failed to add my Bacon and Ham on the sandwich, which is a $1.95 up charge!! Mind you I came in for my coffee/breakfast 10 minutes after they opened!! As far as service and food, I wasn't pleased at all. Especially because I decided to try Lever coffee instead of going to my OG coffee shop (3 cross coffee in Castro valley). If management is reading this , please practice food preparation and quality of service a little better amongst your workers !!

My latest visit was on 01/18/2026, when I met an old friend from South Dakota for breakfast. It was fairly busy when we arrived at 10am. No changes were noted to the interior -- it's still cozy and relaxing. We ordered a couple of ham and egg breakfast croissants, an iced coffee, and a hot cocoa. The total, with tip, came to about $32. The barista who helped us was friendly, and we were given a placard for our order. Our food was ready in about 10 minutes, and the same barista brought it to our table. The croissants were on the smaller side, served with a side of mixed greens. The taste was pretty good, making it a perfect light breakfast for a cold morning. The iced coffee was fine, though I wish the flavor had a bit more boldness. Overall, this visit was very much in line with my previous ones. I was able to catch up with a friend over decent coffee and food in a comfortable environment. I worked from the barstools for about an hour and a half. After the breakfast rush had passed, I noticed plenty of open tables along the wall. Since I had thrown out my back this week and desperately needed more support, I moved to one of them. The sign said the table was reserved for up to two hours for customers who ordered food. Great--I had ordered food and had only been sitting there for about an hour. Nope. The same barista who took my order approached me to explain that the table was reserved for customers who ordered food. When I reminded her that I had, she asked what I ordered--as if she hadn't personally rung me up. She then told me I needed to return to the backless barstool. I challenged this because it made absolutely no sense. There were plenty of open tables, I was a paying customer and I was within the posted two-hour limit. She simply repeated that it was the policy. To be clear, the problem isn't that the policy was poorly communicated. The policy should not exist in the first place. Kicking a paying customer out of an empty chair and directing them back to a barstool is a horrible business model that lacks basic respect and hospitality. I left angry, embarrassed and regretting the money I spent here. I will absolutely not be returning.
