Iced Americano and Pumpkin Chai Spice
    Cynthia P.

We decided to go to Rooted Coffee to get some work done and try out their drinks! It is located across a parking garage (1st hour free, 1.25 for each hour after). There is also street parking! We arrived around 2 and luckily got a table as soon as we got there. The WiFi is located near the register. WiFi worked well for us today! As for the drinks, we ordered an iced Americano and a pumpkin spice chai latte with almond milk. The coffee wasn't as strong as we'd hope for, but it was decent! The pumpkin spice chai latte was super heavy on the cinnamon or nutmeg. A bit too much spice. It tasted spicy. Overall, the vibes were great! It was a great atmosphere to get stuff done. I would come back to try other drinks and their food. I like how this is a plant based cafe as I am not a dairy girl! 10/10 experience, 7/10 drinks!

Iced Matcha Latte with Ube Cold Foam

Was looking for a nice place to work with good drinks and came across this place. The staff is friendly and there is a decent amount of space to work (just a lack of outlets). I got the iced matcha ube latte and was impressed with the sweetness level and quality of the drink. I'd come back.

The best coffee shop in Walnut Creek! The people who work at Rooted are very sweet and professional. Great customer service !!! make you feel like you're at home. The coffee shop is a great atmosphere. It's cute inside. They even have great salads and food.

    Oat milk macchiato and espresso
    Felix W.

I got an espresso and an oat milk macchiato. The espresso had a nice layer of crema but was burnt and lacked body. Could've been the late hour (came in around 3:40 PM and they close at 4) but still, not what I was hoping for. 2/5 The macchiato was decently well executed. The oat milk masked the burnt edge a bit, but overall nothing stood out. 3/5. Based on the reviews I was a little disappointed, I might give it another try if I'm in the area well before closing time.

After an amazing Brazilian steakhouse lunch in Walnut Creek, we decided to stroll through downtown and find a good coffee spot--and wow, did we luck out with this place. We're big coffee lovers, so we always keep an eye out for unique local cafés, and this one immediately stood out. From the moment we walked in, the ambience was warm and inviting. You could feel the thought and personality behind every detail--from the merchandise and posters to the design--like everything had "roots," grounded and intentional. It created a really special, authentic vibe. The service was awesome. We weren't sure what to order, so we asked the cashier for a recommendation. I said I was leaning more toward a strong coffee flavor, and he recommended their cold brew with strawberry vanilla cold foam--and let me tell you, it was perfect. Refreshing, balanced, and exactly what I didn't know I needed. It's always great finding new coffee spots, but this one might just become a regular stop. If you love coffee and good vibes, this place is a must.

As always rooted never disappoint me, the friendliness, the customer service, the ambience, the food and the drinks worth the walk, worth the drive, worth the long lines too. I picked up couple items well three of them!! Cortado with almond milk just because, couple freshly bake goods, you cannot go wrong with them because their bake goods are freshly made "reason why I love Rooted" that is my way to go if I am drinking an americano or in this case a cortado, it is a huge plus for me and also because it is vegan and gluten free. The chocolate chip melts in your mouth on the first bite you can feel the chocolate chip melted and how easily breaks with the first bite The poopie seeds lemon muffin, chewy, soft, you can taste the lemon flavor in the muffin not overpowering in sugars or flavors it is just right! My parents and I love their bake good so does the drinks

Love supporting this local family business and their delicious drinks! A friend from the peninsula was visiting WC and we wanted coffee, so I took him here to try something unique to the area. We got the Hunny Lavender Matcha and the Orange Rosemary Matcha with oat milk, which had light matcha flavor with pleasant additional sweetness of the added flavors, and we loved them both instantly on the first sip. Service was friendly and helpful. There is seating inside and it's a nice space to hang out with a friend or relax or work solo.

Maybe I am bias but this place was just what I didn't know I needed to find. I recently became dairy free and having been a vegetarian for 18 years, I was jazzed to find this vegan haven. I have been to their cafe in PH but really enjoyed checking out their market items. They have a great selection of food, snacks galore, and beverages in addition to their cafe menu. I was also beyond excited to finally enjoy a DF PSL this season! Although I absolutely loved the maple matcha. I also grabbed some baked goods to share with the family- which were all tasty. Will for sure be returning! Also thank you to the friendly worker who was patiently taking my order :)

It was very busy here at 1pm on a Friday. Parking was an unpleasant experience as there's not much of it and quite a bit of traffic. This establishment lets in pet dogs which was not advertised clearly-- so unfortunately it's not really a safe spot for service dogs. It's also not so accessible. Most of their tables are bar height with tall stools. I ordered a matcha latte. The service was friendly. It took quite a while for the drink to be ready, though. Matcha latte tasted relatively good, not too savory nor too sweet.

So vibey The service is great. The girls working at the barista bar are so sweet the coffee taste great to me. I got a maple brown sugar latte with oat milk a little extra sweet. I can actually taste the flavor of the maple and the brown sugar. And it's creamy I like the oatmeal they use. I live in LA so I'm sad that I only get to come here when I visit Quick reviews just for you

Rooted's chai is delicious. It was the perfect combination of sweet and a little spicy hint. This was my first time at Rooted and I will definitely be back. The barista was very nice, and the space would be a great place to work.

Waitress was kind to bring me hot water bcuz of my lost voice I asked for Chantilly cream on the side first from waitress. It never came even tho she wrote it down. Then I asked hostess/aka owner Tammy. And it still never came out. I asked my own waitress again and she apologized for it never coming out (I thought that's why a waitress brings out your food, so they can also see if something is wrong with it before it reaches your table)-she brings me out a bowl of sour cream So I took the bowl And went to a third waitress and asked is this Chantilly cream and she says no that's sour cream So I asked for it again and another bowl of sour cream comes out Third waitress talks to owner who comes out to me and I show her on google what Chantilly cream really is and ask her to talk to her chefs about revising the menu bcuz it's misleading offering Chantilly Apparently the cream is mixed with something called Melba? A raspberry sauce...so I guess customers have not noticed the difference in the past or something...as a result, by itself, I DID notice... Anywho, no my waitresses fault, actually the fault of the chef/cook in the back. But owner shouldd know what that is before putting it on menu for people to order. But I appreciate Tammy's customer service, coming to me and talking to me about the menu sincerely and apologizing and offering to "take care of me" and my bill as I told her I would take care of her waitress despite all the mixup, for the kind gesture of bringing me in, in the beginning.

To start, the employee working at the cash register was super friendly and gave great suggestions on drinks and food to order based on how sweet we like things or more coffee for we may want things to be. There isn't really any indoor seating space but they did build out into the parking lot with a few picnic tables and chairs for people to stay and eat their food. While we both really enjoyed the food - both of which were recommended by the employee - the coffee was not good at all. Pro: the avocado toast that we ordered had a curried chickpea salad on top and it had a delicious flavor. That was probably my favorite bite! We also shared half order of the blueberry waffle, and it had a type of granola on top that provided some really great textures. The food certainly impressed me. Con: Both of us felt like the coffee had none of the flavor that it was supposed to have (we both ordered the cardamom maple iced latte with macadamia nut milk) and instead, it just tasted like milk. It didn't even really have a coffee forward flavor. Since this is a coffee shop that was a pretty big disappointment. Overall, we enjoyed the food and service, but would skip the coffee.

The food, however, is the real star. Here is a breakdown of the must-try items: The Brunch Highlights * Tornado Galbi Omurice: This is the absolute showstopper. When prepared correctly, the twisted scrambled egg forms a perfect golden dome over the rice. Breaking it open to reveal the seasoned rice inside, all swimming in that rich Galbi sauce, feels like opening a box of treasures. * Millionaire's Bacon Flights: You can't go to Sweet Maple and not try the bacon. The flight is the best way to experience the different glazes, and they are consistently "to die for." * Pimped Up Ramyun & Chicken Croffle: Both are fantastic choices if you're looking for a savory-sweet balance or a spicy kick. A pro-tip for fans of the Chicken Croffle: it's a rare find on their menu--available only at a couple of locations, including right here in Walnut Creek. The Drinks To wash it all down, the Ube Latte and Matcha Latte are essential. They aren't just photo-worthy; they are the perfect earthy and creamy pairings for the heavy, flavorful brunch dishes.
