Stopped in on a Friday morning around 9 and it was pretty busy. Most of the indoor seating was taken, there were a lot of people that were working on laptops occupying most of the tables. They have a small seating area in the corner and some high top tables near the window, as well as some outdoor tables. They also allow dogs if you want to stop by with your furry friend. They offer an entire plant based menu full of unique food and drinks. The green goddess avocado toast was delicious and my boyfriend enjoyed the chunky monkey waffle. This is a great spot that is evidently popular in the community as it was consistently busy the entire time we were there! Highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area, even if you don't eat plant based! Street parking can be a little tricky to find as this is a busy street with tons of other businesses, but there is a parking garage across the street. read more

Chickpeas smashed like tuna salad with celery, with avocado guac, carrot, green, onions Looks really good. Nice ranch dressing like dip, which accentuated the whole wrap. Nice portion and enjoyed the wrap, saw the salad version and that looked good too. Also had seasonal wraps and salad centered around carrot and miso on menu Cookie, couldn't see chocolate chips. The maple matcha was fire!!!!!! Super matcha-y and the consistency was slightly thickened, which was perfect. Sweetness was minimal and there was a nutty flavor to the drink; not sure how much maple I tasted. I also asked for light ice and I think they delivered on that. Really enjoyed the matcha. Brown sugar latte was also good--not super brown sugar flavored but still a good amount of sweetness. Latte art was cute Overall, really enjoyed these drinks to-go. Everyone from the employees to the customers were kind! I ordered the Ube Cold Foam Matcha Latte. I am always doubtful of trying ube items from places because they usually don't taste like ube. But the ube cold foam did not disappoint! The ube flavor was evident. It was also a good combo when mixed with the matcha latte. I was very excited to try out this place since their seasonal drinks sounded delicious, but ended up being quite disappointed by mine. My husband's drink was delicious though, hence the 3-star average rating. The ambiance is great here. As we walked up they had music playing outdoors and there was a lot of hustle and bustle for a Sunday morning. They have a lot of seating both inside and outside. There is a cute little merch area before you walk up to the counter. They have a pastry case so we ordered a scone for our son. It was ok but nothing special. I was curious about the housemade maple cold foam but now I know I should have gone with my instinct! Instead I tried the pumpkin dirty chai latte. I wanted caffeine but also wanted to try the seasonal drinks. This drink was seriously all chai. No espresso flavor, no pumpkin flavor. The cardamom in the chai was too overpowering and left a bad aftertaste. I didn't want to waste it but I just couldn't keep going, so I didn't even get to finish half. My husband's oat milk mocha on the other hand was so good. Tasted like a creamy chocolate milk, but with caffeine. Overall I think I just got the wrong drink and hopefully all of their other options are better! I came here a few days ago to try another place I haven't yet been to so I can get some work done. They have a large assortment of signature coffee drinks, organic, and their specialty seems to be their different styles of avocado toast. They also are 100% plant based. Although I did not try their food, I ordered one of their winter specialty lattes, made with house made toasted marshmallow syrup. It was delicious! It struck the perfect flavor balance of sweetness, creamy smoothness, and espresso. I've definitely had lattes before that are far too sweet for my liking, but this one was perfect. Have tried their Matcha latte, dirty Chai, and regular coffee. Their Chai tastes nothing like Chai, and I grew up drinking homemade Chai. It is way too spicy, tastes more like pepper coffee than anything else. Matcha latte is okay, nothing good or bad about it. I do miss the previous business called The Coffee Shop, at this location, as their drinks were much better quality. Haven't tried their food items yet, but the menu looks interesting. I have only ever ordered the Golden Milk Latte each time I visit Rooted, but their version is one of the best I have ever tasted. At $6 for the smallest size, the beverages are definitely a splurge; however, the quality of the oat milk and spices justifies this special treat. (Note: Rooted only carries plant-based milk.) I would describe the sensation provided by the Golden Milk Latte as "warming" and not overly spicy or sweet. From an ambiance perspective, Rooted has ample seating indoors and outdoors. The space retains a lot of the look and feel of the old Coffee Shop that was here previously, and Rooted keeps the space clean and inviting with plenty of plant decor. The food is also plant-based, and I am intrigued to try the churro waffles that I see everyone order. read more

We arrived here on a rainy Saturday but the place was still packed and lively. We got in line to place our order and then as we completed that step. Bar type seating at the very back of the cafe near the bathrooms opened up. They have WIFI info taped to the counter near the cash register. They gave us a number for a food order, but we had to pick up our coffees at the counter. I ordered their 'avotoast - make it fresh' and I enjoyed their fresh bread, avo spread with fresh micro greens and balsamic drizzle a lot. It was pretty filling and the cappuccino was a bit smaller then I anticipated. We had dined in but they gave us to go cups (compostable) but would be nice to have been served up in a mug. The cashier was very nice and our server came by and dropped off the food, was also in a pleasant mood. My partner had their classic waffle and said it was a solid pastry. I'm curious to try their breakfast Sammy (all plant based eggs and sausage) next time. We parked at a garage, bc WC was still lively on this rainy day. Overall, the place was bustling and not necessarily a quiet cafe to get lost in a book but folks were generally respectful of conversation volume. It was a mixed crown of families with young children and the groups of Gen Y/Z types, and couples like ourselves looking to try a new coffee spot. Will come again!
