    Soup dumplings
    Yvonne F.

I was craving soup dumplings for lunch after running errands and stumbled upon Dumpling and Noodle House! The restaurant is very mom-and-pop, and it seems like the entire family was working on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant's ambiance is not the nicest, but this is not the type of restaurant where you come for the ambiance. We ordered the soup dumpling and they were larger than what I was used to, but the flavor was the same - delicious! We also ordered the beef roll (my favorite) and an order of fried rice. Service was quick and kind.

Very different experience than my last one Ordered the tan tan noodle. Was so terrible. The noodles were the same texture of barilla thin spaghetti and the taste was off. Menu here changed a lot and added a lot of non authentic Chinese foods which is very disappointing Service was fine, but restaurant itself seemed to also be not as clean as it was before.

We've been pretty regulars here since they opened and for good reason. Food is always hot and fresh. No frills just good food. We had the garlic eggplant and green beans and they wete so fragarent and hot. The beef rolls were crispy and flavorful. Fried rice had plenty of shrimp and eggs without being greasy. We tried a new appetizer, the crispy fish and the portion was huge! Wish it had a little more sauce with it, but still pretty good. Fried well withoult being oily. We always like being here because service is always good and friendly. The place isn't huge but has many seating options so we've had big family meals with 8-10 people or the more usual 2-4 persons. Always a great place for some great Chinese food.

Had a craving for the cucumber salad at Dumpling and Noodle House! We also ordered the beef roll (if you love cilantro, this is for you), the pork and shrimp soup dumplings, the chicken and mushroom boiled dumplings, the fried leek pockets (the noodles in side the pockets are nice), and the eggplant with garlic sauce. Food was all amazing!

This is a hole in the wall spot I recommend trying. They have a good amount of parking and it's very low key inside with great service. You order off of a QR code and can either order individually or as a group. If you order as a group, I would recommend having 1 person handle the order since it can get a bit chaotic and multiple things can be added to the order without notice. The dumplings are a must have, I don't care which ones you get. They are juicy, flavorful and meaty. Honestly, everything is flavorful here without a single dish that we got lacking. My favorites are always dipped in chili oil so I highly recommend that. If you get the regular pork or any meat flavored XLB, they give you a bit of vinegar on the side that is meant to compliment the soup inside. BE CAREFUL, IT IS HOT. The fish and tofu dish was so refreshing that we forgot I needed to take a picture before digging in, so forgive the lack of, we all had divided up portions before I remembered to take a picture. The fish was very smooth and a refreshing flavor from all of the salty and spicy. And the green beans was very well blanched and sautéed with a good wok flavor to add some greens to the carb and protein loaded meal. I am absolutely coming back here and I wished I had ordered more to take some home and eat at a later time because this spot is a little hard for me to get to on a daily basis but very worth it.

My new go-to dim sum spot!! I recently moved and was looking for a new dim sum spot and this place beats my old one! Everything was super fresh, not oily, and very reasonably priced. I tried the Chinese beef roll. I'd never had this before and I was pleasantly surprised how delicious it was. Def will be getting this again. The soup dumplings were delicious and a must try. The other dumplings were good but I think I'll try something new next time. I got a Thai tea on the side and it was good! Inside there is plenty of seating, including half booths. There were a couple of groups of people dining on a weekday and I can see why this place is popular :) Would recommend!

Sau mai. Kept forgetting to take pictures before eating. Sorry.

Food is really good. Service is just ok. We got a large variety of dishes, beef roll, pot stickers, pan fried buns, steamed meat bun, char sau bao, combination noodles sau mai, har gow, and the custard buns. Custard buns were awesome, creamy and not too sweet. We've had better sau mai, but they were good because I was craving them. Har gow could have been better. Not sure we'd get those again. Char sau baos were ordinary. The beef rolls were really good. Good amount of meat and the ratio to the pancake was perfect.

We came here after using Yelp's Surprise Me feature for dinner and it was so good! My absolute favorite was the pork wonton in chili oil, an absolute must. This restaurant has QR codes on the table, you scan and order their the page and the food comes to you. There is staff walking around checking on your water and any needs you may have. Their decor is very nice and the place is clean. Looking forward to coming back!

    Veggie fried rice! The best!

I don't even want to do this review, preferring to keep this place a secret. It's that good! It looks a little confusing out front. I wasn't sure which lot to park in, but turn into the lot just before the restaurant. Know that it will be worth it! You can order from the table and pay the waiter after. He was quiet, but efficient and well versed in serving all the tables himself. We ordered and paid right after in order to make a flight, and the waiter accommodated. He was polite and got us whatever we asked for. There are indicators that this is a good place because it filled up fast after noon. You can also tell the foods is going to be good by the people who eat there. A diverse group, but I could tell this is a favorite spot for many. My sister ordered 3 of the soup dumplings, 2 orders of the steamed bbq pork buns, and the veggie fried rice, and it was just enough for three ladies. Everything was the best I've ever had. I love a good pretty dumpling, but these were my first soup dumplings and the best freshest pork buns! Have to get the steamed BBQ pork buns! The rice was so delicious with the slightly seared cabbage and veggies! Loved it! I was ready to go back before we were done eating. No joke. My new favorite place!

This congee is more savory as seems they use quite a salted congee. Had the preserved egg and pork, as well as pork kidney congee. Enjoyed it thoroughly as it came nice and hot. Also had the rice roll with fried dough, which was nice, but didn't come with sesame sauce or sweet sauce (which you would find with HK Style rice rolls. Service was quick and efficient. I found it to be quite good value for lunch with drinks.

I've heard of Yi Ji Chang Fen but only tried it today. I've eaten so much dim sum in my lifetime, so my standard for dim sum may be higher. We came around 5PM on a Saturday and there wasn't anyone really there. It could be because dim sum feels more like a morning or lunch thing, or it could just be because we were there for a very early dinner. Between our party, we shared: - Marinated Chicken and Mushroom Rice Roll - Stuffed Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf - Steamed Chicken Feet w/ Black Bean Sauce - Black Gold Egg Custard Buns - Chicken Feet with Herbs - Dry Style Beef Chow Fun And one Honey Lemon Tea for me. The honey lemon tea was a comfort for the cold day. Maybe a bit too much honey, but still good for the throat during the dry season. The chow fun came first and surprisingly it was not bad. There was a bit of 'wok hey' there and it stands out as one of the better dishes we had. As for the rice roll - I wanted to try something less conventional and I've never seen chicken in rice rolls, so I thought it would be interesting to try. It was quite disappointing though. Their rice roll was bigger than normal in width so with rice rolls being a struggle to pick up already, the bigger size made it an even bigger struggle. Everything just slipped out of the rice roll and it wasn't evenly wrapped. There were some bunched up layers on the edges. I think the chicken just didn't pair that well either and it was lacking in ingredients. Maybe the more conventional rice rolls would be better. For the two types of chicken feet, I normally like the one in herbal soup. If made well, the chicken feet has a nice flavor to it. For Yi Fen's herbal chicken feet, their portion was pretty good, but flavor was less prominent. I enjoyed the chicken feet in black bean sauce more because the flavor was better. Lastly, for the stuffed sticky rice and black gold egg custard buns, I suspect that these are not made in-house, but rather store-bought. The sticky rice lacked ingredients and the rice was a little harder than if made fresh. And the perfectly shaped black buns with a golden brush stroke on top (which I've seen all over the internet) seemed too elevated-looking compared to everything else. I'm not the biggest fan of molten lava buns, but they came out nicely. I didn't have any, but the molten lava custard was pretty runny. All in all, an okay experience. Service was a bit lacking. I don't recommend the dim sum dishes, but if I happen to want congee, I may give this place another go. Apart from the dim sum and rice rolls, the noodles I glimpsed from other customers looked not bad. I wonder if other locations are better.

The BBQ pork buns, shu mai, potstickers, and especially the turnip cakes were all super good. The combination fried rice was delicious, not oily at all, and the portion size was very generous. We also ordered the General Chicken, salt and pepper fish, mapo tofu, and Singapore noodles. We definitely ordered enough for very hungry people, and still had plenty left to take home. The space itself is very welcoming and open -- clean, comfortable, and not overly stuffy. The servers were attentive, friendly, and genuinely kind throughout the meal. They have the basics and then some, which is more than good with me! We went here recently for my dad's bday and another time two weeks later with just my husband and I. Ordered a few dim sum items but ordered off their main entree menu which we haven't done before. Here's what we ordered: Siu Mai - it was delish! This isn't always created equally. lol some places it almost looks like they served frozen store bought siu Mai, but this was legit! Honey walnut prawns - I'm obsessed with this!! It was perfectly cooked! Nice and crispy on the outside and the shrimp fully cooked on the inside. Fried shrimp dumpling: this is my go to at most dumplings sum places. It was delish! Chicken Crispy Noodles: this is the star of the show for me. Their pan fried noodles are perfect. It reminds me of a place I used to go to in sf when I was in middle school which is no longer there. The taste, texture of the noodles brought back memories! I know there are many iterations of pan fried Hong Kong style noodles, but those are also not created equally. This is a winner! Mapo tofu: this is hubby's favorite. We really enjoyed it and will definitely get it again! I'm not going to list everything we got, but I did put the ones that are my favs. Everything we ordered was amazing. What helps too is that the ladies that work here are all so friendly! We move a place with great service. This will now be our go to place!

We didn't have to wait for a table, but it was quite full for how many tables they have! They have both a good amount of outdoor seating and indoor seating. Ordering is done via a QR code on each table. I want to start out by saying that we were all hungry after a hike, so between the three of us, we shared: 1) Pig Ears & Cucumber w/ Chili Sauce: I love the crunchy, gelatinous feeling of biting into these. They're kinda refreshing since it's usually served cold with cucumber. I think they give a pretty good portion for this appetizer dish. 2) String Beans Sauteed w/ Garlic Sauce: Lots of garlic pieces mixed into these string beans! The beans weren't the most fresh. There were some stringy ones, but portion was also pretty generous and I usually like having these when I have dumplings! It's a nice pairing. 3) Shrimp, Egg, Chive Pockets (2): These are huge pockets and packed full of ingredients. The skin was thin, crispy, but just a tad oily. I love that they added so much chives into it. Although the skin fell apart pretty quickly - either because it's too heavy with ingredients or the ingredients were wet - I appreciate the thin skin more than a thick skin. 4) Juicy Pan-fried Pork Buns: These were my favorite. I haven't found a really good one around the Bay until I tried these. Usually the buns I get are either too thick-skinned, doesn't have good bun to pork ratio, or dry. These on the other hand, were pretty close to perfect. There was a lot of juice inside - I would say as much as the XLBs. The skin was still pretty thin on the top and not too dough-y on the bottom, but also had a nice crunch from being pan-fried. And the pork was nicely flavored! I would come back just for these. 5) Pork Xiao Long Bao: Also pretty good! Skin was thin and held a lot of juice! Pork was nicely flavored as well! But portion was smaller than most other restaurants I've been to. 6) Dumplings with Shrimp, Pork & Chive (10): These were also one of my favorites. They have their skin perfected - not too thick. Filling wise, this is one of my top go-to for filling, and it's hard to resist a good dumpling! We walked out with our bellies full and feeling great. I can't say there were much interaction with the servers since they were so busy, but would come back when I'm around the area!

The soup dumplings were ok. 1 braised pork dumpling had a much stronger star anise flavor which was overbearing while the other was perfect. Overall, I've had better hand pulled noodles and I prefer beef broth soup that has a more richer flavor.

Our server remembered our drinks, suggested a killer shareable, and everything arrived hot and perfectly timed. The outdoor vibe was relaxed with zero rush. Ideal for date nights or casual catch-ups. As I was serving the soup, I noticed something unusual. When I picked it out and placed it on the counter, it was clearly a yellow worm. Completely shocked, I contacted Uber Eats customer service. They only offered a refund for the soup, not the chow fun, because the issue wasn't visible in that item. But honestly, how am I supposed to feel comfortable eating anything else from the same order after finding a worm in one dish? I then called the restaurant to report what happened, and instead of addressing the seriousness of the issue, the manager asked what we wanted them to do and even offered free food. That response was disappointing and didn't feel appropriate given the situation. It's unfortunate because we've ordered from here before and the food was good, but after this experience, we couldn't bring ourselves to eat the rest of the meal. Dinner and our appetite was completely ruined and it came with a price.
