Really love this neighborhood restaurant. Very friendly service, clean environment and the food comes out quickly and very tasty. The quality and quantity get your money's worth. Most of the dishes are spicy but you can request less spicy or not spicy. Another great part of this restaurant is that that open until 2AM! Love ordering the midnight snack from them.

Finally there is an amazing restaurant open at late. The staffs were very friendly even we come round 11:00pm. The food was so good. The skewers are perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. This place will be my most favorite late dinner restaurant.

Finally tried this place. We went to the Oyama BBQ in Newark before, and the menu here is different. Duck neck - 3.5/5 This is on a more spicy side. Don't recommend ordering this if you can't eat spicy. Skewers (beef, lamb and chicken wings) - 5/5 Very nice skewers. Well seasoned and very tender. Cucumber salad - 3.5/5 I didn't expect this is a spicy dish. It is seasoned in chili oil, so it is a little oily. Not a big fan. marinated shredded potatoes - 4.5/5 The potatoes salad is crispy and refreshing. It goes well with skewers. Zhajiang Mian - 4/5 The flavor is good and the noodle is chewy, but it is kinda oily. Overall, a great place for late night Chinese food. We will definitely go back.

I've been coming to this spot for a while on and off now, and it's always been good, but ever since the new ownership took over, it's even better! The skewers are cooked perfectly, super flavorful, and the quality. You can really taste the difference. I've brought my friends here recently, and they've all loved it too. The seasoning is on point, the meat is juicy, and even the veggies are delicious! The garlic eggplant being our favorite. We look forward to coming here biweekly pretty much now.

I absolutely love Chinese skewers- it's always a go-to if I want some late night grub. I was more than thrilled to see there's a skewer place closer to me and I don't have to drive out to the city or to SJ! You order from your phone via a QR code on the table. We ordered a bunch of skewers- from beef, lamb, fish balls with roe, tripe, etc. I can't remember all of them but they were pretty tasty. Keep in mind that all the skewers have the same seasoning- some sort of xinjiang spice mixture. The skewers were tender and not over cooked. I ordered some sort of mala soup that had enoki mushrooms- I forgot the name of it. I would skip out on it since it's literally just enoki mushrooms and malatang soup. It's nothing special. Service was pretty fast. We got our orders within 10 minutes or so.

Service is always excellent, the food that we have ordered like beef, lamb and tendons skewers are delicious. We also tried their spicy fried chicken cubes, it was the bomb, all the ingredients were amazing, melting in your mouth. I would recommend for anyone who likes spicy food , to come to this restaurant and try the skewers and their spicy chicken. Oh? And Ray ( not sure if I correctly spelled her name right) is the best! She always comes to our table just to make sure everything was okay with our meals. She is the sweetest girl!

I'm so happy we found Oyama BBQ tonight! They are open until midnight for all you late night owls. After a long day of work, it's nice to have fresh skewers! My fam and I tried their fried chicken, chicken feet, beef, and chicken hearts. They really have an array to choose from. They have spicy foods and non spicy, everything is fresh and made to order. The service is wonderful, they even showed us a special desert with sweet plum ooh it was phenomenal !! They are so sweet here and the ambiance was perfect for a fam meal and a great conversation. Lots of regulars here so that's a good sign!! I loved it !!!

Haven't been to the store in a while, but ordered plenty via DoorDash since my last review. My updated review: Oyama BBQ is still botdotcom. In fact, I would say better than when they first opened. This place has since perfected its cook time and seasonings for each type of skewer. The beef tendon was tender and melt-in-your-mouth with a subtle chewiness. The garlic cloves were like soft pillows (yes, I love garlic and can eat them raw). The eggplant is no longer bland per 3 years ago and is now beautifully charred with a minced garlic mixture. You cannot go wrong with ordering beef, lamb, scallops and oysters. There are a few new items on the menu and the restaurant has launched a steam pot 锡纸 series. I feel like this is probably the first for a Chinese restaurant out in our area, so I was super duper excited. We got the duck blood and vermicelli steam pot and clam and vermicelli steam pot. First things first, the broth used to cook the two pots are the same so my recommendation is to get the clam and vermicelli. The vermicelli was cooked al dente and the clam meat was supple and flavorful. The spicy, garlicky and kind of mala chili oil broth elevated the taste. Nothing bad about the duck blood and vermicelli pot, we were just expecting a non-spicy Nanjing version with tofu puffs (IYKYK). I also think cubing the duck blood would work better for texture versus a flat slice. Service is better than before. The owner used to be there all the time and he had somewhat of an RBF, so I could see how that may irk people. Order via QR code. Last call for the kitchen is 11:20pm.

Cucumber salad is delicious! Slight spicy kick

You scan a QR code and place your orders through there. If you listen closely, you'll hear a ding from the front register each time someone places an order. If you hear alot of dings, you better hurry and get yours in soon. The wait is worth it though. Lamb skewers are the absolute legend here. Perfectly grilled and tender, we order about 6 for the 2 of us each time. They are seasoned well and are so tasty. No other meat compares even though the chicken is moist and the chicken skin is crispy. We always go back to the lamb. Smashed cucumber salad is soooo good here. Great balance of spice heat, acid and crunch from addition of peanuts. A staple every time we visit. If I could, I would come here once a week.

Oyama is my family's new guilty pleasure! Some of the items here are really a 5/5! By now, we have come here several times and I can report on several menu items. I've been to other locations/similar restaurants and this place has some good items that are a must try! There is plenty of parking around and even though they are often busy, we usually get seated right away. Now for the food: -Beef Skewer, Chicken Skewers, Lamb Skewers 5/5: I've had the beef, chicken and lamb. I'm not a huge fan of the lamb one. It is a bit salty for me but my husband loves it. The beef is my favorite and chicken is good too. -Soy Sauce Fried Rice 4/5: it is pretty good and we ordered this a couple of times until we tried the other fried rice. -Egg Fried Rice 5/5: this is delicious and so far our favorite fried rice. They did take a while to bring it out which is the one thing I don't like because I usually want to eat it with the skewers. -Steam Bun 5/5: so delicious!!!! It is a tab bit sweet but I wouldn't call it a dessert either. It balances the flavors well. -Cucumber Salad 5/5: very fresh and delicious! It's a good side dish for all the meat items. -Chicken Wings 4/5: very good and fresh. My daughter loved them! It comes with two. -Quail Eggs 5/5: I love them. They are season quail eggs, a bit salty but a good complement to the food. -Vinegar Spinach 3/5: this was not the dish for us. We tried it but I'm not sure I'll order it again. It has a lot of vinegar. The flavor was not it for us. -Egg Plant 1/5: this was not good at all. It is a steamed eggplant with a lot of garlic on top of it. I wouldn't order it again. -Chives 4/5: they are a bit salty but we like them. I wouldn't get them every time I come here but once in a while. -Vegetables skewer 5/5: they look like the chives but taste better and less salty. Instead order the vegetables! -Spicy Oysters 4/5: my husband likes them but it is a $20 dish and the oysters are tiny. This is more of a once in a while dish. Over all we love this restaurant! The food is delicious and the staff very friendly. The food quality is also very consistent! -

I was expecting maybe smaller oysters for the deal but no ! They were big creamy fresh oysters that you'd get any other day but for a dollar ! It's only for Sunday Monday while supplies last ! Wences you guys will be seeing me more often . We also tried the seafood grill which comes with salmon halibut scallops prawns topped with a creamy lemon sauce . Grilled veggies and polenta . First impression I was skeptical of the polenta because it looked like corn bread but you take one bite it melts like butter in your mouth . So creamy . The flavor amazing ! Fish was cooked to perfection . I would have liked the sauce to have more of that lemon in there but nothing a squeeze of lemon yourself can't fix . The citrus habanero scallops .... Were also cooked to perfection . Not chewy at all . A little underwhelming with the flavor description though . There was not a lick of habanero or any spice whatsoever or citrus . It was a very sweet sauce . Wasn't bad just not what was described my only complaint . And being they come by themselves maybe six instead of four would be nice ?? Besides that there are soooo many things I'm excited to try from the menu . I think my next choice will be the lamb chops !!! Waiters are always supper friendly and I'm not sure if it's the manager or owner but he too is always around when I come and is very attentive as well always checking and conversing with the customers . Wences is nice for indoor or outdoor seating ! It's family friendly or even date night . We sat out on the covered patio and got to enjoy some World Cup during dinner as well. Our meal: Non alcoholic cucumber pineapple drink sounded good but was lacking in flavor. Didn't get the taste of any juice. The fried calamari was very over cooked and we should have sent it back. You know it's over cooked when the tentacles have to be spit out and the body parts aren't chewable. Beet salad wasn't bad. Generous chunks of red and golden beets at the bottom, topped with arugula, a quarter sliced avocado and some candied nuts. The flavors were solid. The mussels were good with a little kick. The mussels were cooked perfectly and the beard was gone. It's served with 4 points of a cheese type bread. The bread wasn't toasty. It would have been better with fries. The tempura oysters were our favorite of the meal. Light breading served with cocktail sauce and a soy based dip. We liked the soy based dip. Service was good, parking convenient. Because of the location, the place appears to be more of a locals hangout which is nice to have. I'm going to pass on returning here for now. You give it a try please. Support this local business.

I know that a lot of people reading this review are looking for a comparison between the restaurants. Usually, others are split on this opinion when I mention it. So here's my why. The seafood menu selection is the same as most crab boil spots. I ordered the deveined/headless shrimp on my last visit. The spicy sauce was def spicy! Shrimp was cooked perfectly, not overcooked like I've had at other places. They give a generous portion of sauce, which is necessary to pour over some white rice! The appetizer selection at Cajun Crack'n is elite! The fried oysters are my favorite! I've also had the wings, fried mozzarella and Crawfish fried rice. All delicious choices! The combo had a nice variety with shrimp, crab legs, sausage, corn, potatoes, and egg, and everything was cooked well. The house special sauce was buttery, garlicky, flavorful, and the medium spice level had just the right amount of heat without being too much. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the sauce was a little on the salty side. It was still delicious, but after a while the saltiness started to stand out. If they dialed that back just a bit, it'd be even better. Overall, I'd definitely come back. Good portions, great flavor, and a solid spot when you're craving a seafood boil.

Overall, the place felt very clean, tidy, and well organized. The service was also great and staff were friendly and welcoming, which was definitely a plus. Now, let's get to the food review. Original Sisig Kapampangan: Absolutely delicious. It was served on a hot plate and had a savory, creamy flavor (possibly from the mayonnaise) while still tasting a bit tangy once you squeezed lemon over it. I'd definitely order this again. Beef Brisket Kare Kare: I honestly thought I didn't like kare kare until I tried their version. The peanut sauce was rich and savory without tasting like peanut butter in a jar like Skippy. The beef was tender, and I also loved the assortment of vegetables included in the dish. What really took it to another level, though, was the bagoong sauce (on the side), which paired so well with this dish. This dish was absolutely yummy. Sizzling Beef Brisket Ala Pobre: We were really excited to try this because we'd heard great things about it, but unfortunately, it didn't really deliver. The flavor was pretty bland, and even though it was topped with fried garlic, it was still missing a strong garlic flavor. The beef itself was tender, which was probably the only good thing about the dish, but aside from that, the sauce and overall flavor were just underwhelming. Garlic Rice: This came in a pretty generous portion enough for three. I could definitely taste the garlic, but I think it could've used a little more. Still, it was good overall.

I went early on a Saturday evening with a group of 7. We got seated quickly. Beware, groups of 5 or more are hit with a mandatory service charge. 18% for 5-6, 20% for 7-20, and 22% for 30 or more guests (see picture). I know it's customary for restaurants to levy a mandatory charge for big groups but they usually make us aware of it. The hostess or wait staff did not make us aware of this mandatory charge. 12 minutes passed after being seated and no one had approached us to take our order or give us water. We had to flag down a passing waitress to let her know we were ready to order. Apparently, tables are not assigned a dedicated waiter/waitress. From what I could see there was only 4 available wait staff for the whole restaurant; not enough for a busy Saturday night. Whenever we needed anything we had to flag down a passing waiter/waitress. They were doing their best, but they were clearly overwhelmed. We ordered some pancit and the Sulit Bilao # 3 which is a huge platter costing over $129; to our surprise it didn't come with any bagoong. We had to flag down the waitress again and ask for some and we were shocked when she said she could only give us 1; any more would have to be charged. I said that's fine but didn't realize each container was tiny; and each extra one cost $2! (see picture). For ordering a platter this size, I think that's very stingy. The food was ok. The waiters and waitresses were friendly and did their best. I cannot in good faith recommend this place until they get their staffing level and processes in order.

The jerk chicken was beautifully executed. Smoky, well-marinated, and layered with flavor without being overpowering. It wasn't aggressively spicy or one-dimensional; instead, it had depth, the kind that tells you the seasoning had time to develop. The meat was tender, cooked through, and balanced perfectly between char and juiciness. The rice and peas were equally satisfying -- flavorful enough to stand alone but clearly designed to complement the protein. And the plantains were caramelized just right: soft, sweet, and not overly oily. What really stands out is the care. Nothing felt rushed or generic. As a vendor operation, it would be easy to cut corners but this feels like food made with pride. The Bay Area has no shortage of Caribbean spots, but Jamin Jerk Kitchen holds its own with quality and consistency. This isn't just good jerk, it's thoughtful, well-prepared food served with the kind of warmth and presence that keeps you coming back. Definitely worth seeking out wherever they're posted next.

Oh Mah Gawd this food is INSANE!…read more I now know why they call it Jerk Chicken, it's because your coworkers will call you a Jerk for not sharing! My 5 coworkers and I decided to try Jam N Jerk Kitchen out so we ordered some plates for 6 people. The owner did a Paula Abdul and "Straight now tell me" and told me the most cost effective way to get our order which was the mini-catering option. Let me tell you, she was absolutely right! The value of the the quality of the food on as well as the amount you get is fantastic (take a look at the pics). We ordered a medley of everything, the Jerk Fish, Jerk Chicken, Oxtails, Rasta Pasta, Jam n Cheez, Rice N Peas, all were incredible. The chicken was so flavorful, the oxtails fall off the bone, the fish with the mango salsa was kickin, and the jam n Cheeze was sooooo gooey! The food was so good in fact that our coworkers demanded us to share! The food literally made me believe in love again, so I called my wife and said "Honey I believe in Love again and Love you, to which she responded, I love you too but you better bring me home that food!" Some tips to make your experience Rad 1. The menu on their site is merely just a guide regarding prices and what is available. When the owners contact you they will tell you the prices and have your best interest in mind and guide you to what is right for you. 2. The address will take you to a large complex. Find the pool and leasing office and that is the location to pick up your food. Again the love they put in the food, the quantity of what you get, and the taste makes this a must have!
