We used to love this place and hadn't gone in a while. Today we ordered takeout and did not have the best experience. We didn't get the rice with the 2 meat dishes that I asked about when I ordered. I called back and person was very apologetic, which is something. The kimchi pancake had more zucchini than kimchi and was mushy and bland. The japchae had only minimal carrot and a few meat pieces but nothing else. This must have spinach to taste at all authentic. It was also bland. Overall one of the worst experiences I've had here. Very sad with our $90 worth of food. We will probably give them another try because maybe this was just one off. read more

I love coming to this place if I'm wanting an uncomplicated dining experience. The restaurant is simple, nothing fancy by any means. The wait staff are friendly, but their attention to service is a little slow. You might have to ask for refills or napkins. But sometimes you don't want to be bothered every other minute, so this is also part of the uncomplicated experience. The food is tasty and always consistent. Favorite Korean restaurant in the east bay and I've eaten Korean food everywhere from Seoul to koreatown in LA and NY and this is one of my favorites. Will miss this place a lot! The banchan is the best, their budae soup is sooo good, and on top of that, it's my kids favorite place. Tucked away in an unsuspecting strip mall in Concord, you would probably be too distracted by the taco stand in front of the laundry mat to noticed that you probably walked past the front door of Korean BBQ Plus and heading to the open door that says employees only. That is exactly what happened to me. Luckily somebody was leaving the actual front doors to the restaurant and I realized that the hours were posted on the door and the entrance was actually not where I presumed it was. Got seated right away at a booth and handed the menus. It wasn't too busy inside, but there was a good amount of families/larger parties (4+) eating there. The tables are spread out in the middle (giving pandemic dining vibes, which is great because its more room away from the next party) and then the booths along the wall. Menu is as expected with your traditional entrees and offerings, but the BEST surprised was the prices. They aren't cheap, but definitely a lot cheaper than my favorite local Korean restaurant back home. For example, LA Galbi was priced at about $30 and typically you see that for upwards for $38+ anywhere else. I went for the usual spread: Seafood Tofu Soup, Seafood Pancake, Pork Belly, and the Japchae. Everything came out absolutely delicious and great portions! They do not skimp on portions or quality - and boy was I mind blown. The seafood tofu soup was filled with quality tofu and so much seafood, like literally spoonfuls of seafood in every bite you didn't have to worry about being cheated on portions. Same with the seafood pancake and it was perfectly crispy on both sides. I only wished that they cut it into smaller pieces instead of large pizza slices to make it easier to eat. The japchae came with beef protein and noodles were not overcooked or over sauced. The pork belly was thinly sliced and came stacked with a side of sesame oil/salt dipping sauce. The banchans did not disappoint either and they were kind enough to keep refilling them. I mean all in all, it was a great experience and the quality of food was top notch! I only wished they didn't forget my Galbi, but they were quite apologetic and took it off the bill right away. I will definately come back the next time I'm in the area! Other things to note, it was clean on the inside. The bathrooms were also clean and easy to find parking in the large lot! They do take credit cards and are NOT AYCE. read more

REALLY good Dolsot Binimbap that came out sizzling, pipping hot, and you'll get some rice crackers at the bottom of the stone bowl upon finishing the bowl. The restaurant is roomy, clean and a no-thrills design and style, with wooden booth seats or table seating. Service is fast and efficient, and they do not hesitate to bring you more banchan upon request. Prices are also reasonable at this restaurant. Arguably the best Korean food I've had in Concord, the price at this place was a little bit more expensive than the other Korean restaurants in the area. However, I thought it was justified with the food quality: it was delicious and was better than other Korean restaurants in the area as well. We ordered three entrées: Bul Go Gi, spicy pork, and Sam Gyup Sal Gue (thinly sliced pork belly in sesame oil). All 3 of them were so good, but my favorite was the pork belly in sesame oil. The pork was tender with streaks of sinful fat layers, and it was bursting with umami plus the sesame oil nicely added a hint of nuttiness to the dish. It went super well with rice and the sides. The spicy pork was my second favorite. The sweet gochujang flavor was bold, which I loved, and the spiciness level was just right. However, one thing that could've been improved on with this dish, though, was they could've charred the pork more, to give a little bit of smoky flavor to the dish. Nevertheless, regardless, I thought the spicy pork was super good. The Bul Go Gi was pretty good too: it was sweet and savory, and the meat was thinly sliced making it super tender. The portion of each "regular" entrée (not a "lunch special" portion) was pretty generous, but I thought that was fair provided that the price was ranging $21-$23). Furthermore, let me not forget to mention about their sides or banchan, which was very satisfying. There were 10 of them, so variety should not an issue. You got from pickled veggies to potatoes to fish cakes. And if you run out, you could ask them to refill your banchan. Out of the banchan that they offered when we were there, our favorites were the pickled radish cubes and the sweet/spicy kale. Service was good. Parking area was somewhat tight and could be limited too, but we didn't have any issue with it when we were there. I will definitely go back to this restaurant again to try there other food. read more

What a hidden gem. It is tucked away with no visible signage. I learned about this place from the next door Korean grocery store. It is simple, authentic and delicious. This restaurant is my in-laws' go-to place for Korean Food. We ate here recently during NYE and it was a ghost town likely because of the heavy rain. We were greeted by the hostess and seated immediately after our table of 9 was put together. This hole in the wall isn't the fanciest BUT the quality of the food hasn't let me down. Good place for some Korean food. I love the varieties of banchan that we had. This place reminded me of our beloved Korean Village in Pleasanton. I was searching for Korean food and thought I give this a try. This was next to the Korean market. There is a break time/closed between 3-4PM. As I entered the restaurant the Korean food aroma was in the air, I just had that feeling like you were entering a kitchen of home cooked food. In my opinion I prefer this restaurant than Gen by food quality and service. I definitely enjoyed all the side dishes. The entrees I ordered were pan fried mackerel (which was cooked and seasoned well), sautéed cuttlefish with vegetables (the flavor and spice was blended well and the cuttlefish had a soft chewy texture), also got some soft tofu stew w/ seafood and came with egg which I prefer it to be a little more spicy. My go-to have to be the Galbi beef short ribs that came at our table in a sizzling hot plate. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Everything was delicious and flavorful.
