Family dinner @ Hot Pot
LJ H.

When you have that hot pot craving, this is definitely the place to go. They have a good selection of meats along with a pretty diverse vegetable, seafood and sauce bar. I love how often our server checked up on us. Always asking for any refills of meats or appetizers. This is a place you come to for celebrations and parties. There is a lot of room to move around. For about $30, you can't beat this deal for AYCE Hot Pot.

My son loves AYCE restaurants and suggested to come here. It wasn't too busy with just a quick 20 minute wait at 6pm. We sat down and ordered appetizers and drinks. Service was fast and friendly. We had the gyoza and chicken teriyaki appetizers...they were ok. I enjoyed all of the seafood options because I really don't eat beef that much but my son and husband had a ton of the sliced special beef. I opted for the miso broth and it was tasty! The dinner was relatively inexpensive for how much you get and we will probably return!

Love the variety of veggies, and the seafood in the salad and sauce bar. I also like that there is only a few pieces on each tray. So I can try different meats. Service as great. Ambiance was really good. There were a few birthday parties and they sang the song.

Came here with my cousin's family and my kids because we were craving hot pot. This was my first time here. We got there a bit before 5, and got seated right away for a party of 7. Broth - you get to choose your own broth for your individual pot. When they do refill, they also refill with broth instead of hot water which is nice. I got the house broth and it was flavorful. Self-serve bar - the variety of items at the self-serve bar was ok. I have been to places where there were definitely more variety and better stocked. Meats - the meat was standard, and there was a good variety Service - we had to flag down our server multiple times for different reasons. Seems like she was pretty busy with the tables she had to cover, and couldn't check in on us that often. Overall, this is a decent hot pot place in the area. If I had the time, I would drive further for better hot pot places.

Been here a couple of times now and we love it. Located at the Veranda so parking can be packed specially on weekends. $29 all you can eat. Restaurant is pretty big, awesome for a big group. Love that the stove are individual rather than other hot pot that are shared within the group, due to my seafood allergies I don't get to enjoy hotpo. Different types of broth are available for each individual. Appetizers, all types of noodles, veggies and sauces. Lets not forget the meat that are also unlimited. We love the prime blade meat and beef toro. Some days tho I feel a little rushed. But overall great food and good service.

First time but was not disappointed Upon entering the place was fairly more spacious than anticipated, lots of seating and plenty of space Definitely a busy spot though I will say, in a pretty busy area to be fair So had zero experience with this type of place, the staff was very friendly and helpful in explaining how it works. Very attentive and came back countless times to ask if everything is good and if we wanted to order more of anything else. It is all you can eat on everything For the food honestly it's really good as for how it's prepared entirely up to you, they have a huge bar you go up to and grab whatever else you'd like to throw in your broth like green onion, garlic, noodles and so much more. Honestly it would be impossible try it all on the first trip, so definitely gonna have to go again to try different combinations. The appetizers are not many but they're not really the star of the show although they're all so very good so highly recommend trying at least one of each. I can definitely see there being a learning curve to this type of food because if you're not careful you can overcook whatever you put in your broth, I know I did so there is a little bit of juggling or paying attention at least. So don't feel discouraged You do have control over the heat of the hot plate in front of you so you can turn it up or down at any point. I believe you also have a 90 min limit which is pretty standard for all you can eat places so no surprises there. All in all very good and unique food experience Would recommend to try at least once! Especially on a cold day

Worker Camille at Shabuka Concord provided outstanding customer service during our visit. She consistently checked in on us every few minutes to make sure we had everything we needed and that our dining experience was enjoyable. She was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and easy to talk to, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. What stood out the most was her knowledge of the MENU, ENVIRONMENT, LOCATION and HER GREAT RECOMMENDATIONS. It was clear that she knew exactly what she was doing and genuinely cared about providing excellent service. Her attention to detail and positive attitude made our experience even better. Thank you, Camille, for your exceptional hospitality. We will definitely be coming back and hope to be served by you again!

Even if it looks crowded, go in! They sat us immediately. Server wasn't Camille (she was off, I asked) but she was nice and attentive. AYCE hotpot for $29.99/pp is well worth it. Food is great- thinly sliced beef and pork to cook in broth to your liking. They also have a cold bar for your noodles, vegetables and seafood. The sauce station elevates the soup/meat to over a 10. I like the Asian chili and soy sauce to dip my meat it. Baby Bear likes the yuzu. The apps are great too the soy glazed chicken and gyoza are always great! Only suggestion would be to bring back the designated metal tongs to place your raw meat in the broth. The plastic forks they offer, melt after some time. Using the supplied chopsticks on raw and cooked meat seems a little unsafe - for me. But regardless- Definitely will be back.

We were surprised that we didn't have to wait long to be seated at this AYCE restaurant. Maybe it was perfect timing -- we arrived around 6:15 p.m. on a Saturday night -- or maybe it's just easier to get a table for two. There's a 90-minute dining limit, so we ordered right away. They offer five types of broth; we went with the Original House and Tonkotsu. For appetizers, we had Gyoza, Chicken Karaage, and Soy Glazed Chicken Karaage -- all delicious, and perfect for us since we're not into spicy food, but if you want spicy, they have that on the menu too. There are seven types of meat, and yes, we tried them all! Each one was fresh and flavorful -- definitely premium quality. The variety of sides, vegetables, and seafood was impressive, making it easy to build the perfect hot pot combination. The restaurant can get a bit loud, so it's not the best place for quiet conversation, but it's lively. Parking at The Veranda can also be tricky during busy hours, so plan a little extra time for that. By the end of the meal, we were so full and satisfied. Great service, good value for $29.99 excluding drinks, and overall a great dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

My husband and I really enjoy dining at this restaurant. We often come here to celebrate family birthdays or just to hang out with friends. The prices are quite reasonable, there's plenty of seating, and the menu offers a good variety of food options. Every time I come, I always forget to bring my Thai-style suki dipping sauce! The staff can be hit or miss--sometimes very nice and attentive, and other times a bit indifferent--but we still keep coming back even though we live quite far away. The food might not be the absolute best we've ever had, but it's definitely worth the price. Parking can be a bit tough on weekends and holidays, but overall it's a good experience. Today our server, Kali G, was especially wonderful--very friendly and attentive. She kept checking in to see if we wanted more meat or appetizers. Her great service really made our visit more enjoyable.

Came in with my boyfriend and another friend on a Saturday evening. We joined the waitlist after checking in with the host and were told it would be a 20-40 min wait, which was accurate. It's located in a plaza where there's plenty of other things to look, shop, or sit at, so time flew by. I checked their website and it looks like you can join the waitlist there, but not on yelp. Service was quick and we were seated near the door, but weren't hit by any drafts when the door was opened. We got our drink orders, apps, and meats. By the time we got up to pick our toppings from the bar (an assortment of veggies, eggs, noodles, seafood, etc) the meat was delivered. Thinly sliced in groups of four per plate. We all ordered the spicy miso broth, which wasn't too spicy. There's additional sauces you can get from the bar if you want more spice. Our waitress was very helpful and even offered rice, which I didn't know was an option. Music was playing a bit loud, but not excessively so, temperature was adjustable for your broth at your table, and each person had their own pot. Bathrooms were also clean, and there's two sides of the bar so it's not crowded. We also witnessed workers restocking the bar, and others going around regularly adding broth to guests' pots. Restaurant was also roomy. For $30 on a weekend? It's a solid deal. Maybe come by when not super busy, or plan ahead.

My family and I tried Shabuya last week. We had a great experience trying something "new" to us. I've walked by Shabuya several times while at the Veranda but never tried it before. This is an all you can eat Shabu Shabu restaurant. You start off by selecting your choice of broths. Then choose your appetizer and meats that will go into your individual broth. You can pick other items from the bar such as seafood, noodles and veggies and let it cook. When you run out of meat you can reorder from your waiter. Our dirty dishes were picked up promptly and the bar area was refilled with fresh ingredients while we were there. It is a fun experience and value if you enjoy the cuisine. Overall, great service, good selection of protein and well stocked food bar. I also enjoyed the adult capri sun (soju).

Great food, service and music. Mamas enjoying a lychee mango cocktail!

Ask the Community - Shabuya

Does it come with fries and other snacks with the ayce options?

No come with appetizer but no fries

I've been for lunch, I can see the dinner menu online, more meats. What's different on the food bar with dinner. (I'm a seafood fan)?

Typically our dinner menus for Shabuya will offer more selection of meats, and sometimes more diverse options for the salad bar selection, varying in locations. We don't have a specific list of the salad bar selection as they may change out… Read more

When does lunch time start and how many rounds of meat can I order as well as appetizers? Someone told me only 4 rounds but is this correct?

You can order up to 4 meats per round but there are no limit on how many rounds. Just gotta be out by 90 mins mark

Is there any way to reserve seats ahead of time on a certain day at a possible certain time?

Yes. Just call them. I was able to reserve a table for my family by calling them.

How much each person?

Lunch $20 Dinner $30 .... Dinner menu includes ribeye

My husband is very sensitive to MSG. can he dine at your restaurant?

Probably not… because we don’t remember if any of the broth was free of MSG… and all the broth were prepared. I would call them to make sure they can accommodate that request. Then again, the broth won’t be the same if it’s altered…

Are the meats marinated?

Nope

Does Shabuya take reservations?

No, Shabuya does not take reservations.

Since when did I have to be there for them to tell me how long the wait is? That's stupid. I don't want to drive all the way out there just for it to be a 2 hour wait.

Larger parties , they should know that it's going to be a wait ... the staff they turn those tables over quickly ... but , they cannot accurately tell you how long the wait is to avoid confrontation that's why they don't give you an exact time .

Are there vegetarian options for broth and toppings?

Their broths are vegetable based & they do have a variety of fresh vegetable toppings. My SIL is a GF vegan & this is her new favorite spot.

Do you serving for 1 person thank you?

Yes, you get your own hot pot with your own broth. Even if you dine with another person, they will have their own broth.

If coming for a birthday celebration; are we allowed to bring in our own cakes?

Yes, I seen someone bring one when I went

So my mom has celiac disease and can only eat gluten free options food, does anyone know if Shabuya has that option?

Some of the broth may be gluten intolerant, but I'm sure you can ask the servers to get one that is appropriate for your mother. They're very nice and attentive. The food is all uncooked, so it's easy to pick and choose what she can eat from the… Read more

Are seafood available during lunch time?

Yes , they are ! More so , for dinner ! CHEERS !!!

Are customers allowed to purchase meats from the restaurant to cook at home?

No clue . Why would you want to ? Purchase those meats at the store , freeze them ... have your butcher at your favorite supermarket slice thin and you are good to go !

Do you take reservations?

No they don't take reservations. You put your name on a list and they will text you when it's time.

The giant restaurant logos on the walls were prominently displayed. Their menu featured a wide array of appetizers, soups, bibimbaps, cold and hot noodles, meat dishes, etc. We opted against their signature kalbijjim and instead got three entrée combos (L.A. galbi, spicy pork, and bulgogi). Each entrée came with our choice of tofu soup. Half a dozen banchans were brought to us before the arrival of the entrées. The buchu (chives) and baechu (Napa cabbage) kimchi were excellent. Our food took about 15 minutes to arrive. Portion wise, the tofu soups were of decent size, but the meat entrées were kind of stingy (they were served in small round skillets). I had the seafood tofu soup and it was very good. It was loaded clams, shrimp, and squid. We shared the entrées, and they all tasted great. The only gripe I had was a couple pieces of the galbi had very little meat on them. Service we received was great. Our server was friendly, helpful, and efficient. The total was somewhere around $130 (with a bottle of soju, a tangerine slushy, and a soda). Overall, we all thought the food was good. Return trip very likely. 4 stars. On top of that, our server was so friendly and attentive. Honestly, if I could give this place six or seven stars out of five, I would!!! Honey Soy Beef Belly: Absolutely amazing. The beef was sliced thin with the perfect ratio of meat to fat. The sweet and savory marinade complemented the richness of the beef belly oh so perfectly. I also loved the generous amount of green onions they sprinkled on top, which made this dish even more inviting. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. Beef Belly: This is basically the unseasoned version of the Honey Soy Beef Belly, so the quality of the meat was just as good. The nice thing is that you can customize each bite with the seasonings at the table, whether it's Green Tea Salt, Sesame Oil, or Sweet Soy Sauce. Simple but delicious. Bulgogi: Bulgogi has never been my favorite since I usually prefer savory over sweet, but this was still very good. The beef was tender, the marinade was flavorful, and everything was well balanced. That said, I'd still pick the Beef Belly dishes over this one. Chadol: This beef brisket used to be my go to order at Gen. Somewhere along the way, though, they switched to a leaner cut of meat. So now it wasn't quite as tender as I remembered. Still though, the meat was fresh and tasty. Honestly, it really comes down to your personal preference and whether you enjoy a leaner cut or a fattier cut. Pork Belly: Thick slices of unseasoned Pork Belly that you grill yourself and cut into smaller pieces then dip in Sesame Oil and Salt? Yes please! These were incredibly satisfying. Once cooked, the pork was even still tender and juicy. Easily my favorite pork option. Spicy Marinated Squid This dish had that classic Korean spicy sauce that balances sweet, savory, and spicy flavors super duper well. The squid stayed tender after grilling, it was amazing. I'd definitely order this again. Hotteok: A Korean style pancake filled with Brown Sugar and Peanuts. It's definitely a heavier dessert after a bbq meal than what I usually prefer, but it was still really good. The outside was pleasantly chewy (mochi like texture), while the filling was warm, sweet, and gooey. Kimchi Fried Rice: Don't sleep on this one because their Kimchi Fried Rice was fantastic. It had the perfect balance of tang and savory flavors, and it paired well with all the bbq meats. Super yummy.

I really like Korean BBQ but unfortunately this wasn't our best experience. We came early on a…read moreSaturday evening for dinner and didn't have to wait long for a table. There were four of us. The ventilation at the table where we were seated was not ideal. Most other tables had a hood above and the smoke went straight up. Unfortunately, due to where the AC vent was located above us, that overpowered the hood above the table and the air/smoke blew to one side of the table during the entire meal. We tried the various types of meat, which didn't seem like it was high quality. We even asked one of the servers if the steak was supposed to be that tough and he offered to bring out another one. One thing about the experience that was excellent was the service. Everyone was really on top of clearing our empty plates and replacing the grill. Sometimes, they offered to replace the grill even when we didn't feel like it was ready yet. Nic, our server, was fantastic and explained everything and was very helpful. The food could have been better.
