We got back about 6 pm and we're promptly seated, provided our menus and served water. The way orders are placed here is via a QR code at the table that you scan and place your order. They have a sticker on the sign that says there is an 18% gratuity for parties over 6. I think that is fine, as it is common, but I would definitely NOT be placing my order via a QR code as that is a part of the service I would be tipping for at other restaurants that charge accordingly. The dish came with Napa cabbage, lamb slices, vermicelli, enoki mushrooms, imitation crabmeat, meatballs, fish cake, kamaboko, pork blood rice cake, fried tofu skin, clams, sour mustard greens, brown beech mushrooms, tofu, and cilantro, all simmered together in one pot. The ingredients blended beautifully in a rich, silky white house broth full of flavor. If you run low on broth, the staff is happy to top it up for you. The meal also includes a choice of rice or vermicelli. I opted for the vermicelli, but the portion was very small. In hindsight, I would probably choose rice next time. Also, what I chose already came with vermicelli anyway. If you go during lunch, the meal comes with a choice of sweetened green tea or sweetened black tea, served iced or hot. We chose the green tea, which was excellent. It was lightly sweetened with a strong tea flavor that made it refreshing and a great complement to the meal. My father in law who is Chinese but grew up in Taiwan introduced me to this place. It's fun because you can have single serving hot pot. It's nice because everyone can get the meat and toppings they want while still having the hot pot experience. I got the Seafood Lobster Hot Soup Dinner. It was really good, savory and the portion of seafood was really generous. The seafood was fresh and tasty. I really liked the broth too, it was simple but good. My father in law got the lamb soup. He liked it a lot. He added spice to it and enjoyed his meal. I had added ramen as it's an add of you can get but I didn't need it because my soup already had noodles. The single portion pot is misleading as it's really filling. You order from a set flavor and everything is in one pot (one drink included). The one I ordered didn't have much vegetables so I ordered a side of cabbage and opted for the vermicelli. On a cold day, this is real comfort food. If you compare Tasty Pots $25.00 single hot pot and to AYCE hotpot of $40, you may find more value with the AYCE. I am writing my first-ever Yelp review because of how terrible my experience was at this restaurant. I came in with two colleagues, and the service was terrible from the beginning. We were not properly greeted, the employees were not attentive when we had questions, and there was confusion surrounding the prices of the food. While my colleagues were also disappointed with the terrible service we received overall, they did not receive the terrible treatment I received when it was finally time to pay. We were paying separately, and I was already standing at the register while one of my colleagues was still sitting down drinking her tea. Yet, when she finally came to the register, long after me, the employee proceeded to check her out before me. When it was finally my turn to pay, the employee told me my food was $7. I asked her if she was sure that was the correct price because, from what I understood, my food was supposed to be around $24. While I was asking her if she was sure about the price, she snatched my debit card out of my hand. She did not hand my debit card back to me while she corrected the price. She kept possession of my card until she entered the correct amount, which turned out to be $24, exactly around the amount I had understood my food would cost in the first place. This was extremely concerning and inappropriate. There was absolutely no reason for her to take my personal debit card out of my hand, especially when the card reader was directly in front of me. Her making a mistake with the price and then snatching my personal belongings from me as though her mistake was somehow my fault was completely unacceptable. When she finally handed my debit card back to me, I began signing my receipt on the countertop. While I was already writing, the employee repeatedly pushed a receipt tray toward me, continuously hitting my hand with it as I was trying to sign. I do not know whether she was attempting to give me something to write on, but I was already in the process of signing the receipt. She continued pushing it into my hand without so much as an apology. Again, neither of my colleagues received this type of treatment. They experienced the same generally poor service, but they were not passed over at the register, did not have their debit cards snatched out of their hands, did not have an employee hold onto their cards while correcting the employee's own mistake, and did not have their hands repeatedly hit with a receipt tray while trying to sign. Between being passed over at the register, having my debit card snatched out of my hand while I questioned an incorrect price, having my card held while the employee corrected her own mistake, and then repeatedly having my hand hit with a receipt tray while I was trying to sign, the entire interaction was unacceptable. I have already contacted Tasty Pot corporate directly regarding this experience and am waiting to see how they address the situation. Regardless, serious retraining needs to be conducted at this restaurant regarding how employees interact with customers and handle their personal belongings. I will not be returning. read more

They have a variety of deliciously spicy hot pots to choose which comes with its own heat source and endless refills of hot broth throughout the meal.
