Kalbi short rib
YJ L.

Honestly wasn't expecting much because this place was a late night pit stop after a long day, but the interior, the service, and the food were all very comforting and genuinely made me happier! I love that they have smaller portions, lots of banchan, and a variety of dishes. Kalbi: well seasoned, good amount of food for the price Soondooboo: not too watery, had a good ratio of dumplings and tofu I saw the table next to me get KBBQ and if I was hungry enough at that moment, I know I would've thoroughly enjoyed that as well! Would honestly stop by here again if I were ever in the area or passing through!

Freezer burned meat

Horrible experience at this place. If I could give a minus 10 on the service I would! The server looked angry the whole time and she was not nice at all. The round of 4 meats took around 25 minutes to come out, we were starving and the porc belly has freezer burn (see discoloration and texture in picture) the grill didn't get changed even though it was pretty black. The unlimited appetizers looks so sad under the warming light, nothing got refilled on there. The cuts of meats were not good. The brisket was very thick and so were the porc "thin" cut (in picture) Gen is a 100 times better compared to this place ... Avoid it!

Came here for the first time since they changed to an AYCE Korean bbq and they added an AYCE Sushi as well! We chose the Korean bbq AYCE #A $29.99 each It was so worth it! Lots of meat options to choose from! You can also choose soup ( Tofu ...Miso... Ramen ) They have a bar in the middle with japae noodles ... eggplant ... spring rolls ... dumplings ... and ca rolls to name a few! They have an ice ream selection as well for after dinner ... it's all included! Service was very good!! We will be back!!

Happy to find another ayce kbbq spot though when we went, we didn't know that lol! They weren't busy when we go there because it was only 6pm, but people.started trickling in around 630ish. You can order 4 items at a time and some items were premium and you can only order them ayce if you pay for the more expensive price tag (almost $70, more than double the standard/regular price $30). We opted for the regular. Children 4 yrs and older (not sure what's the cut off) are 50% ...expensive really..how Much a 4-6 yrs old eat really??! I think they should up the age limit to be reasonable. Anyway, the meat was good. The marination was not too sweet and seasoned just right. It wasn't overly salted either. Check in on yelp and you get fried banana with ice cream dessert for free. What wasn't so pleasant was that they were not attentive. They would often forget your orders/requests (e.g. napkins, refill your drinks, change the blackened grill!!!, or just come back to take more food orders!!!). They would take order pn the table next to us. But then skipped our table. We didnt even order that much just yet! (It already stsrted sonce our 2nd order! And got worse throughout the meal). Also, I don't think that It was not noted on the menu, but apparently each person could only order 2 slices of LA galbi/short ribs. As we paid for 2.5 people (we had a kid), we were supposed to get 5 pieces BUT they lost 2 pieces of our order and so we only got 3! If you like.beef, there weren't much selections of beef items on the regular ayce menu. Anyway, the restaurant is nice and cleaner than the other chained ayce nearby, but I certainly wish the service was better.

their spicy brisket was just brisket with sriracha on it lol

I'm not sure why this place has a good rating.. I've been here for their AYCE sushi side and I hated that their businesses are separate on Yelp because when we pulled up to Mumu, we were so confused but they're the same place just FYI. Since I've eaten here before for sushi, I already was aware of their appetizer bar. However, they use the same appetizer bar for the KBBQ, which is weird. A lot of the banchan that we requested was redirected by our waitress to go to the appetizer bar. Nothing was fresh and everything tasted like they haven't replenished it in hours. For example, I requested the cheese corn side and our waitress redirected us to the bar. It was so gross and old. The menu is also nothing special.. I've paid better prices at Ohgane or Daikon for their lower tier menu and got a better selection than this. You pretty much can only order brisket or bulgogi, plus the old appetizers. The inside was also super stuffy. None of the fans to absorb the smoke were on. And they refused to turn them on because their floor fan was on. Not sure how that would affect one or the other. I just wouldn't come here again. My brother told me it was way better when they first opened, but this experience didn't impress me at all. Their only advantage is being open super late, but even then, I would rather go to in-n-out at that point.

There are not as many tables as gen or ohgane which for me is a plus. It didnt feel crowded and loud. The servers were really attentive and kept checking on us every now and then. The great Service was the highlight of our visit. The price is also affordable. 30 for the regular ayce which i believe is reasonable. There are different appetizers, soup, pork, chicken and seafood items to choose from. The flavor or the meat though is not the best, still is decent. Hence the minus 1 star. Nothing wrong with it, it just didnt stand out. Adding to the minus star is the kimchi. It was dry and just pure spiciness. Overall, it is a good place if you want some korean buffet experience.

Banchan

I typically don't frequent Korean restaurants but I'll say that maybe I'll have to have a change of heart. You get ample amounts of food. Starting with the banchan there were about eight small offerings that came to the table. This was included in the beef Bulgogi entrée that I had ordered. The beef was tasty and I didn't leave hungry at all. I thought the service was pretty good. I was impressed with the ventilation systems. They had overhead on certain tables in the restaurant. I'll have to return again and try something different.

Catherine T.

Absolutely yes, you must visit Yaedam when in Walnut Creek. Sorry, I don't make the rules. Personally I think it is the best, authentic Korean cuisine in the area. I ordered chicken bibimbap and the fam ordered variety of bbq meats which were so good. Highly recommend

The sushi is unexpectedly good it's a good spot to eat the only part that messed with me was the salmon but that might have been a just me thing.

Sides and banchan
Crystal Y.

I will start this review by stating that the food here is delicious! Great meat quality with plentiful sides and banchan to keep us going. Surprisingly my favorite meat was the hawaiian bulgogi, so tender + the fried zucchini. I was pretty satisfied with everything we ordered from the menu along with the spacious interior and comfortable seating. Unfortunately I think the place suffers from slow service. After the wait and ordering it was 20 minutes to get cups of waters, and 30 in we finally got our food. It was just hard to flag down a server and we were left waiting for a bit during some parts of our lunch. I hope this place will increase the staffing as the server to table/customer ratio was just unbalanced and they could use some help just to cover all the customers they were receiving. I am so positive about the food however, and I will probably come back for that when the service/workflow is improved. I agree with all the other top reviews about the food and flavors, and would definitely recommend for a meal if you're not on any tight schedules.

Lunch Combo - Beef Bulgogi and Soft Tofu Stew.. all did $18.95 ... What a Deal! :)
Winnie W.

Their Lunch Special is available on weekends too at $18.99 only (+$5 for ribs, which is a must get item in my opinion ;) They also have a KBBQ option but we are usually too lazy to cook the food :P Always a happy and satisfied meal here at Yaedam. What I appreciate about this restaurant is their good food, fast and friendly service, and good prices!

I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately we had a pretty bad experience here. We went out on a Monday night and it was very slow, which is why I'm shocked with how slow the service was! It took 25 minutes to get us waters and beer. The appetizers that came out pre cooked were barely warm( spring rolls and dumplings) and took a very long time, so I'm assuming they were sitting out for a while before they got to us. The all you can eat buffet wasn't very good either, particularly the pork belly. The next morning all 4 that had attended dinner of us had food poisoning. I would not return, and would not recommend. The ventilation in the place was poor and because the servers barely checked on anyone the whole place got so Smokey I had to step outside while I waited for them to switch the grills. They were also using outdoor standing gas heaters inside? Not sure that is very safe. The only reason they have so many good reviews here is because they have signs all over the restaurant for a promotion for free dessert items if you leave a good review on Yelp and then show the staff member. They were staffed with 2 bus boys and 2 servers and only 3 tables seated, so I know it wasn't an issue of short staffing. Disappointed and upset that we all got sick.

Charae P.

Okay, so I'm giving this place a 4 Stars ONLY BECAUSE the staff is quick, the restaurant has doesn't have long lines, and the QUALITY OF FOOD IS SOOOO GOOD! It's tasty and the sides are super yummy compared to other places like Gen and Oghane. Why not a five star? The menu is very expensive considering majority of the meats are PORK. Pork is one of the cheapest meats in America, so of course they lol offer many options of that! To get premium meats it's like $70 a person wth! Lol The portion sizes are also small when they came out! Idk why we were limited to 4 pieces of Korean BBQ Short ribs for two people, I know it's pricey, but damn lol. And the protein when they come out come in pairs or at max 3 small pieces. Lol so weird and stingy. I was always so weirded out that the host didn't offer to change our grill (which was heavily burnt) and or take our plates alway. We had to keep putting our dirty plates on the used table next to us. Lol Although, this place isn't the best Korean bbq spot in terms of money spent, it's tastiness and quality of meat is sooo good that it's worth coming back to (when in the area). And if Gen is long lol waits!

Met up with family at this restaurant for a weekday lunch. I'm not well-versed on Korean cuisine,…read moreand there are only a few dishes I feel safe ordering with the short ribs being one of them. Our group ordered the 2 meat/2 soup special for 4 persons and it was definitely enough food for our group. The short ribs were excellent and I even enjoyed the soups (not sure what they're called, but one was pork and one was beef). Excellent service throughout and the place was very busy. Parking could be a challenge depending on the time of day as it's shared with other merchants.

Something against Filipinos? Or me? Did I do something wrong? I ordered bibimbap and so did my dad. My sister got tofu soup. My mom was sharing soup with her. It was obnoxiously loud because there was a birthday being celebrated at the table in the middle (not the staff's fault but maybe this got on the staff's nerves?) I asked for 1 refill of the side dishes. 1. Waitress gives us a refill. So that's the initial set of side dishes and 1 refill. As my dad goes up to the back portion of the restaurant to pay, I ask for another refill of side dishes. Lady with shorter hair says, "no." with a stern look of disgust. I go, "uhh..okay." Really weird, that's never happened before, ever. My sister and mom left a few minutes prior and got their tofu soup to go because of how loud it was--we weren't done with our meal they just wanted to get out of there. If the soup was still on the table and all 4 of us were sitting down, would she still have said no? We then left a $5 tip (I wanted to give $0 actually after what just happened). As I left the table and went out the door, I saw the waitress looking at our table from the back where you pay, she was checking to see if we even left a tip (because my dad didn't put a tip on the bill as we like to leave cash tips). Just all around bad vibes. I very rarely give 1 star reviews. Actually the food here is unfortunately phenomenal, so if you've never had a bad experience here go ahead and continue eating here it's great. Food portions are terribly small for the price you pay. It's a flat out rip off for the cost. Maybe if their service was good it would justify the cost, but their service as described above, despicable. I know my thoughts are all over the place but I'm a bit rattled still at what just happened. I finished eating there 7:48pm, it's 8:03pm as I'm typing this on my phone in the car while the memory is fresh. That's how irked I am. They did not refill our water or ask to refill our water until I asked, and I only asked once. I saw they asked other tables if they wanted refills of water. That, plus the side dish refill and the short haired lady who's probably the owner saying no? I never want to come back. I felt disrespected, unappreciated, and felt racially profiled like because I'm Filipino she didn't like our kind there or something. The vibes were really off. I'm never coming back here voluntarily. At least that's how I feel right now. My experience, 0/5. The food, unfortunately 4/5, Score: 1 star because that's the lowest I can give it. Expect to see this review on here, Google, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and TikTok. To the owner / waitress who didn't give me refills on the side dishes, if you're reading this: didn't think I'd go this far to share my experience did you? The angry side of me hopes you lose business. The more peaceful side of me hopes you read this, think about what you did and if it was right, and think about your customer service and making people that come to your establishment and paying you to eat your food, happy. Because the look you gave when you said, "no." When I asked for the refill of side dishes, you might as well have spit on my face. That's how it felt. If you feel no remorse over this incident, then I wish poorly on your business, but I doubt this review will affect your profits. Good bye. Never again.

Over…read morethe years, though, so many K-bbq restaurants have opened up that unfortunately Gen kind of slipped off my radar. But this week, something came over me, and I decided to give it another shot. Lunch was about $22 per person as of June 2026. I remember going to the Concord location years ago and feeling like the portions were pretty small, even though you could order it as many times as you wanted. This time around though, our experience was completely different. Every order came out piled high like a mountain of meat. Everything was fresh, the marinades were on point. On top of that, our server was so friendly and attentive. Honestly, if I could give this place six or seven stars out of five, I would!!! Honey Soy Beef Belly: Absolutely amazing. The beef was sliced thin with the perfect ratio of meat to fat. The sweet and savory marinade complemented the richness of the beef belly oh so perfectly. I also loved the generous amount of green onions they sprinkled on top, which made this dish even more inviting. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. Beef Belly: This is basically the unseasoned version of the Honey Soy Beef Belly, so the quality of the meat was just as good. The nice thing is that you can customize each bite with the seasonings at the table, whether it's Green Tea Salt, Sesame Oil, or Sweet Soy Sauce. Simple but delicious. Bulgogi: Bulgogi has never been my favorite since I usually prefer savory over sweet, but this was still very good. The beef was tender, the marinade was flavorful, and everything was well balanced. That said, I'd still pick the Beef Belly dishes over this one. Chadol: This beef brisket used to be my go to order at Gen. Somewhere along the way, though, they switched to a leaner cut of meat. So now it wasn't quite as tender as I remembered. Still though, the meat was fresh and tasty. Honestly, it really comes down to your personal preference and whether you enjoy a leaner cut or a fattier cut. Pork Belly: Thick slices of unseasoned Pork Belly that you grill yourself and cut into smaller pieces then dip in Sesame Oil and Salt? Yes please! These were incredibly satisfying. Once cooked, the pork was even still tender and juicy. Easily my favorite pork option. Spicy Marinated Squid This dish had that classic Korean spicy sauce that balances sweet, savory, and spicy flavors super duper well. The squid stayed tender after grilling, it was amazing. I'd definitely order this again. Hotteok: A Korean style pancake filled with Brown Sugar and Peanuts. It's definitely a heavier dessert after a bbq meal than what I usually prefer, but it was still really good. The outside was pleasantly chewy (mochi like texture), while the filling was warm, sweet, and gooey. Kimchi Fried Rice: Don't sleep on this one because their Kimchi Fried Rice was fantastic. It had the perfect balance of tang and savory flavors, and it paired well with all the bbq meats. Super yummy.
