Lunch special with the sautéed beef and vegetables, one of my favorite dishes from the restaurant
    Amy W.

This is one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the area. Taste like very homestyle cooking. The waitress is very friendly. We especially like the sautéed beef or chicken dishes. It has a very unique sauce on it. I have not seen this on the menu of other Korean restaurants. They always give you a lot of side dishes. Best value for a healthy filling lunch in the area. When we come here for dinner, we always get 2 to 3 dishes and have enough to take home.

This place is decent if other spots are too busy. Small quiet place that has about 10 tables. The seafood pancake was too soft, under cooked, and had tiny pieces of octopus. I've had better. Soft Tofu soup, medium spice, was more like mild spice. I got the combination and it had mussels, shrimp, beef and veggies. I would get this again on a cold night.

Had an amazing feast here on a Friday night. Service was excellent even though we had a large table. We ordered variety of entrees including some of our usual suspects. Most memorable would be their fresh made kimchi. It's not on the menu, but they served us two full plate of fresh kimchi. All I needed was a bowl of rice and I was in heaven. Forgot to take pictures so I was bummed too. Their pork belly, seafood pancake, and spicy beef soup was also excellent. My goto for next time. Their kalbi, and intestine stir fry was bit too sweet for my liking. However, if I'm in the area again, I would return in a heartbeat. Enjoy! Highly recommend!!

Came in for lunch and they have a selection of specials starting at $13.95 all include rice and sides. Ordered Bulgogi and bimbimbap. Servings were ok, not too generous. Taste and flavor on the blander side. Service was a one woman show. Typical mom and pop shop in a strip mall.

Dinner was wonderful on Halloween night. Kimchi Jeon came piping hot, ready to be photographed and delicious. Selection of banchan was diverse and tasted fresh. Budae jjigae did not arrive with obligatory stove but was well-portioned otherwise: plenty of ingredients cooked well in its spicy broth. We especially enjoyed scooping up beans at the bottom of the pot.

Hello, the meat was ok, the mackerel was basically smelly and tough and apparently they have reused too many times as the whole plate smelled like fish, even the add one! Actually, the beef was tender but had a fishy smell like everything else too! I can't believe this place has 4.3 s on Yelp! Very disappointed! Service ok though, no issues and the food came out fast!

I guess I have been here before, but decided to leave a review because I just ordered through DoorDash. My initial thought realizing that I had been here already is that it may not have been very memorable. With that said, I was content with my order of bibimbap because I was mainly craving the flavors but the amount of meat was underwhelming. It was not the same amount as in person (as seen in the picture) and not worth the price for it the basic ingredients. Would I order again or go back? Mmm probably not

Today's Lunch was at Moa Korean BBQ in Pleasant Hill on Contra Costa Blvd and 2nd Ave S. In the shopping center, next to Tous Les Jours Bakery. The one hostess, server was very prompt and friendly. We had hardly any wait from the time we ordered to the time our food arrived. I ordered the Bulgogi and hubby ordered the Daeji Bulgogi. Both came with a scoop of rice, chilled broccoli, one dumpling, bean sprouts, pickled cucumbers and pickled radish. There was also banchan provided. A great lunch spot.

We've been to this location a couple of times and it's been consistently good everytime. Today we ordered the food to go and it was equally as good as if we'd eaten in the store. Their bulgogi is always well seasoned and they always give you a good amount of side dishes. Their rice cakes are good but nothing you can't get anywhere else. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who'd like a good and decently priced Korean meal.

MOA KOREAN BBQ IS ELITE! ^_^ This is the best Korean spot when I need something nearby. I live in Fairfield, CA and I have other spots to choose from but i'm going to choose Moa every time. The service is a 10/10, the waitress was being so sweet to these to children behind us. On top of that she was very attentive and kind. To be honest, I've never had bad service here. One thing I would suggest is maybe playing some background music for some ambiance. The restaurant is quite quiet otherwise when it's no so busy and no other tables are talking. This past Friday my sister and I had a little sister dare and got the stir fried gob chang ( beef intestine), the ghe jang (raw marinated crab), nang myun (cold noodles) and kalbi short ribs. AGAIN IF YOU HAVEN'T TRIED THEIR RAW MARINATED CRAB YOU'RE MISSING OUT! The crab is SO sweet and the sauce on it you'll definitely want to take home! Super yummy with the rice! The gobchang is so tasty, has a nice peppery savory flavor and the vegetables in it are cooked to perfection. Anothe 10/10, please support this business when you're in the mood for quality Korean Food, it's a chef's kiss for suuuuure!

Pretty good place but I have had better. The food was hot and the service was good, but we went on a weeknight and it was not busy. They give lots of panchan. The decor is a little old.

Checked this place out with my coworkers for lunch! They have a bunch of lunch specials but I was feeling soupy so I got the Kalbi Tang with rice--it was warm, delicious and perfect for the cold weather! The banchan were all delicious and generous portion! We especially liked the fish cake and kimchi! The atmosphere was casual and restaurant was clean! Our food came out fast and the ajumma checked in on us and was super nice! Next time I would love to try more protein based dish!Thank you!

Ask the Community - Moa Korean BBQ

How is the tofu soup here?

I enjoy the Soon Tofu. Comes in the bubbling pot.

Do they serve a lunch menu?

    Yes

    Do they do AYCE?

No, just menu items and lunch specials

Is Moa open for Labor Day?

How our they with larger groups, about 6 or more?

They have an area in the back for larger groups. I've been here when there was a holiday party with roughly 10 pax.

Is this Korean BBQ spot all you can eat?

Nope, but the meat is fantastic!

Kid friendly? My kids can handle a little spicy but not super spicy.

You can order the tofu soup (comes with beef or seafood, vegetables, rice and an assortment of appetizers) and ask for mild. Or the bulgogi, which is also non-spicy. My daughter likes both and she does not tolerate any spicy foods.

    Do they have Makgeolli?

    No.They don't have Makgeolli.

All staff caring for us were kind and accommodating. My partner and I both chose the B course ($39.95/ea). Great options & good quality meats! Even delicious options for pescatarians :P Some favorites: - PRIME BEEF MARINATED SHORT RIB (perfectly seasoned) - PREMIUM PORK BELLY (so juicy. There are a lot of places to sit once you pick up your food. It's pretty loud since it's in the malls This place is cafeteria style, the food is all out for you to choose from. The person working was super friendly! I gave this place a 3 because the deep fried chicken and shrimp were overly cooked and extremely dry. The fried chicken was very thin. Didn't even think it had chicken inside. We ordered beef bulgogi which was very tender and filled with flavor. The fried red chicken had a lot of flavor but it felt like the ratio from meat to batter wasn't great. The rice cakes in chili was interesting... it tasted a bit like spaghettiOs... the texture of the dish was like a squishy tasting gnocchi. The japchae was filled with flavor. At first the texture threw me of but afterwards you are hit with great taste. The tofu was so good. For a place that's in the mall, it's ok. I was expecting more but it's a great if you want to share with others and try different restaurants in the food court.

But this week, something came over me, and I decided to give it another shot. Lunch was about $22 per person as of June 2026. I remember going to the Concord location years ago and feeling like the portions were pretty small, even though you could order it as many times as you wanted. This time around though, our experience was completely different. Every order came out piled high like a mountain of meat. Everything was fresh, the marinades were on point. On top of that, our server was so friendly and attentive. Honestly, if I could give this place six or seven stars out of five, I would!!! Honey Soy Beef Belly: Absolutely amazing. The beef was sliced thin with the perfect ratio of meat to fat. The sweet and savory marinade complemented the richness of the beef belly oh so perfectly. I also loved the generous amount of green onions they sprinkled on top, which made this dish even more inviting. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. Beef Belly: This is basically the unseasoned version of the Honey Soy Beef Belly, so the quality of the meat was just as good. The nice thing is that you can customize each bite with the seasonings at the table, whether it's Green Tea Salt, Sesame Oil, or Sweet Soy Sauce. Simple but delicious. Bulgogi: Bulgogi has never been my favorite since I usually prefer savory over sweet, but this was still very good. The beef was tender, the marinade was flavorful, and everything was well balanced. That said, I'd still pick the Beef Belly dishes over this one. Chadol: This beef brisket used to be my go to order at Gen. Somewhere along the way, though, they switched to a leaner cut of meat. So now it wasn't quite as tender as I remembered. Still though, the meat was fresh and tasty. Honestly, it really comes down to your personal preference and whether you enjoy a leaner cut or a fattier cut. Pork Belly: Thick slices of unseasoned Pork Belly that you grill yourself and cut into smaller pieces then dip in Sesame Oil and Salt? Yes please! These were incredibly satisfying. Once cooked, the pork was even still tender and juicy. Easily my favorite pork option. Spicy Marinated Squid This dish had that classic Korean spicy sauce that balances sweet, savory, and spicy flavors super duper well. The squid stayed tender after grilling, it was amazing. I'd definitely order this again. Hotteok: A Korean style pancake filled with Brown Sugar and Peanuts. It's definitely a heavier dessert after a bbq meal than what I usually prefer, but it was still really good. The outside was pleasantly chewy (mochi like texture), while the filling was warm, sweet, and gooey. Kimchi Fried Rice: Don't sleep on this one because their Kimchi Fried Rice was fantastic. It had the perfect balance of tang and savory flavors, and it paired well with all the bbq meats. Super yummy.
