We also like the salmon kama that they sometimes give out for free (it's been inconsistent, we don't know when they give it out free but have gotten lucky half the times we're here). Good service. Easy parking in the lot. Seating is very limited, so I recommend you go earlier than normal meal times. We came at 5pm for dinner and there was no line and food came out quickly. Can't believe how good this spot is. We live nearby and feel lucky that a go-to restaurant of ours is down the street. Never have had a bad meal from here and we have made most of our way through the menu. Their staff is attentive and welcoming. They are also good with food allergies. This place definitely gets packed, mostly because there isn't a ton of seating. There are only a couple of outdoor tables, and during the summer heat, I honestly wouldn't recommend sitting outside. That said--this spot was a pleasant surprise and honestly feels like a bit of a hidden gem. I didn't expect the sushi to be this fresh, but it really was. The quality was excellent, portions were generous, and the presentation pretty much speaks for itself (the photos don't lie). Service was decent--nothing particularly memorable, but it was efficient and got the job done. The real star here is the food. The shop itself is quite small, probably only 6-7 tables, but when we went on Saturday afternoon, we were able to get seated immediately. We ordered the omakase, the dill roll, and the baked unagi roll. The fish were all quite fresh. A decent spread on the omakase, from scallop, seared tuna, shrimp, regular tuna, and I believe a tuna roll. The baked unagi roll was heavy but not in a bad way, just a lot of sauce and quite large. Location: small corner restaurant with some table seating inside and I think the table outside is theirs also but not sure since there is another restaurant next to them. Not good for large parties (5+) Service: Placed order for pick up, gave my ph# and had to spell my name twice. It was nice to get a text saying my order was ready but when I picked up and said my name, the employee looked confused and couldn't find my order. The issue - who ever took my order entered my name completely wrong and not even close and should have verified by the ph# and items ordered. Food: The sushi rice used tasted old for the rolls and the plate, the lemon used for the 49er did NOT taste like a lemon but more orange like even the color was different. I don't know how fresh the salmon was used for the nigiri and roll but it had an off putting texture and taste (not even like a farm raised salmon flavor). The Julie's Favorite roll says it has tempura flakes on the outside but if you look at my photo, it was drowned in it probably to cover up the salmon used. The menu is misleading because it doesn't describe if sauces are placed on the rolls, so we didn't expect sauce on the shrimp tempura roll. read more

This has been on our to-go list for quite some time. Excellent reviews and not many recommended sushi places in this area of East Bay. We went on a Friday night and there was a bit of a line. Took about 25 minutes to get seated. Their service is actually quite fast, but they have very limited indoor seating: 3 four tops and 3 two tops. They have a couple tables outside as well, but it was a bit chilly that day. For ordering, everything is through a fancy tablet at the table. We picked a few things and our food arrived within minutes. We ordered two rolls, a baked roll, and an Omakase. I was blown away by the quality of the fish. Everything was great, but I would most recommend the Omakase, which for $49.99 is fantastic. On top of all the sushi, the meal came with complimentary Salmon Kama. Everyone in our family loved this and the portion was enormous. The Kama was fried golden, crispy, and well-seasoned. Better than the vast majority I've eaten in the past that I had to pay for. This place is quite small, maybe 6 tables or so located across from the Virginia Shopping Center. At the table you order from your kiosk (ipad), everything from water to your plates. You should order as you go (wish I knew this) so your food comes as you order it. Wait staff is super friendly and if you need anything just let them know. We ordered several rolls and the Omakase which you place with the server as it is not on the menu. You must order the omakase if it is available. It was ahhh mazing. So freaking good. I could eat this all day. The rolls were great too. We also ordered the katsu curry. It arrived piping hot, crispy. We enjoyed everything and would come more often if it was closer to us. I love Sushi Time's casual atmosphere and value of food. We've dined in for lunch and we've gotten takeout for dinner, and all our visits have been excellent. Great assortment of items from appetizers (their version of a stuffed jalapeño and stuffed mushroom = yum), sushi (nigiri, Chirashi bowls, numerous rolls, etc), udon, and hot kitchen items (curry, katsu, etc.). My kids really enjoy their tempura udon, chicken karaage, and California rolls. Usually they aren't too into the veggie tempuras, but they somehow eat the ones here. They don't eat the mushroom piece, so that ones mine. The husband isn't too into noodle soups and raw fish items, so he would get things from the hot kitchen menu. He's tried the katsu curry and he enjoyed that, but wished there was more of a protein option than just tonkatsu for the curry. He's also tried the salmon katsu, and that was pretty good, though just with steamed veggies and rice, and some sauce on the side. My personal faves here are the rolls. I've tried their ichiban roll (hamachi, avocado, cucumber on the inside, and unagi, hamachi, tobiko, and scallion on the outside), warriors roll (spicy tuna and cucumber on the inside, and salmon, scallop, tobiko, and scallion on the outside), and their lion king baked roll (imitation crab and avocado on the inside, and salmon, tobiko, and scallion on the outside). All were so good! The ichiban roll was super fresh tasting, a lighter end roll. The warriors roll had a great amount of salmon on the outside and it was excellent throughout. Their baked rolls were packed with flavor from the sauce as well. So good and can't wait to try different rolls each time! Service was attentive and pretty great too. Came here around 7 PM on a Friday night. It was packed and there was a line of people waiting outside. We scanned the QR code to add to the waitlist. I highly recommend doing this via that Yelp app before you get there. I think we waited almost 40 minutes for a table for three. The inside space is small and cozy. But the food was definitely worth the wait. Prices seem somewhat normal, the rules are $15-$16. The sashimi was $$30. The fish is very fresh. And the rolls are not jampacked with rice like some sushi restaurants' rolls. Service was fine. They were super busy. We were almost done eating, we had to remind them that we were still waiting for our sashimi. They came by around 8:15 PM to ask for additional orders before their kitchen closed. I heard a lot of good things about this place and wanted to try it out! The restaurant is quite small, but there is plenty of parking in the parking lot. The waitress was very kind and attentive! I got a wakame salad which was different (yet pleasant!) from the others I've tried because it was light on flavor. My husband got the crunch philly roll and he really liked it and said it was one of the better ones he's tried within the area. He also liked that it was thinly cut. We also brought our 1-year-old son, and they were quite accommodating with high chairs. We did go during lunchtime on a weekend and were lucky to get one of the last few seats.
