Decided to drive all the way to Martinez to try this place since we heard such amazing things and it did not disappoint! Mike is awesome and a very talented chef. We tried almost all of the rolls on the menu and Mike was kind enough to make additional rolls on the house since we couldn't decide what else to get! Awesome little food hall and worth checking out if ever in the area. Will definitely be coming back, it was well worth the drive!!

I have been looking forward to visiting the newest addition to the Martinez Market on Main, and it did not disappoint. It's on the first floor right when you walk in and has plenty of table and counter space to eat. The owner was our sushi chef and he was super friendly. The sushi was well made and had really nice flavor. I was particularly impressed with the "it's just lit" appetizer and the "unincorporated Pacheco" roll. I'll be visiting again and look forward to trying the other rolls.

Second time we have shown up and they are completely closed... no one is ever there to represent the establishment. Very weird and they have new poster hours in there but they aren't operating at this time I am to assume this is permanently closed and it should be labeled as such. Stop wasting peoples time.

Go to Hella sushi and Chef Mike will take care of you! Wonderful service, great presentation and delicious, fresh fish. We had the Omakase style dinner and trusted Chef Mike to create something special for us and he delivered flawlessly back to back. Truly a treasure in Martinez and 10/10 recommend!

We have heard great reviews about this new sushi place in Martinez, so we had to try them and boy.. they are sooo good! The sashimi were super fresh and I love the 'unconventional' ingredients and the chef even customized it and 'jazz it up'! We took the order to go but there are plenty of seatings in Market and Main. Ambiance was casual and delightful. Service was awesome! I could tell that he is making those rolls from the heart. We will be back again and if you have not try the place, you should!

According to this, he should have been open. So unprofessional.

My husband and I attempted to have lunch here on 7/24. We live in Vallejo and decided it would be worth it to cross the bridge for some sushi. All the pictures looked amazing and the reviews seemed great. We got there around 2:20pm and per their website and the yelp hours, they should have been open. We walked inside and I instantly got annoyed. No one was there! I saw a handwritten sign that said something along the lines of they open at 3:30pm and if we want sushi to text whatever number was there.....I mean if we want sushi, why isn't someone there during the times on the website and on yelp? I was pretty disappointed. I don't cross the bridge anymore just cause. I need a good reason. Maybe the owner should update his hours. I tried to DM him on IG with this issue and until this day no response. I even sent him an email via his website and the email got returned. Is this place even open at all anymore? I don't plan to come back to try again because it might be another disappointment.

Look no further for the freshest most delicious sushi made by Sushi Chef /owner Ben ( whose passion stems from his 15 years in Japan and his mama's cooking)!

My husband and I went to downtown Martinez for a much anticipated date night. We were craving fresh sushi and Hella Sushi did not disappoint! Located in Market and Main, the sushi chef (Mike) walked us through some of their most popular rolls. We went with the "I Feel Ya!!" and "Market and Main" rolls. Both were amazing, super fresh with delicious house made sauces. The Market Main roll was seared to perfection. Service was excellent and Mike was super attentive, knowledgeable, and knows his craft. Highly recommended, Will definitely return!

Saw the good reviews on yelp and wasn't disappointed!! Mike made us a special roll that had mango and salmon and was phenomenal

Small but mighty menu. Located inside Market and Main, mostly a take out location. We got the scared scallops, seared salmon belly, and the Ya feel me? roll. Everything was very good.

Spicy Salmon roll in the front and the Market and Main roll in the back

The Main and Market roll and the Spicy Salmon roll were delicious! The chef was so friendly and even offered to customize rolls for us. He's been making sushi for 10 years and it shows! He definitely knows what he's doing. This is definitely our new late night sushi spot.

It's just it. Pacheco roll. Hyphy Bites.

The takoyaki and the fresh fish dishes were standouts, the quality and value is hard to beat compared to SF prices. We barely got photos in before everything was gone. They also surprised us with a complimentary hojicha panna cotta that was light and not overly sweet. When we mentioned it was my dad's birthday, they stored the cake and brought it out with candles without us even having to ask. Little things like that go a long way. Oh and if your bill hits $100+, you get to pick a piece of jewelry from their collection which is a cute touch. Already looking forward to going back.

No welcome in or hello from staff, I was asked "pick up?" And said yes and provided my name. I was informed they were still preparing my order-GOOD. I would've been concerned if it was ready in less time. I handed my payment card to the host, she struggled with inserting the card into the square device, as well as holding the chip over the device as well. After about 3 minutes she figured it out. I was handed my receipt to fill out. She watched as I filled in the respected lines. I did not leave a tip - as it was a up order, and service thus far was not to par. I waited for my order... 8 minutes later it was ready. Before leaving I checked the bag, order correct, but lacking my preference of soy sauce. I asked the host for more she came back with ONE packet, and tossed it in the bag I was holding. I said out loud "oh just one?" Then asked the sushi chef if they had little to go containers for soy sauce and if I could get one of those. He said yes and instructed the host to fill one for me. She did, came out and handed it to me with what I interpreted was an annoyed look. I said thank you and left. Fascinating to say the least. I guess I was asking for too much. Sushi was decent. Hit the spot. But have had better.

We tried the salmon tempura roll, mango roll, spider roll, unagi roll, a kids sushi combo, takoyaki, and a few other rolls and a couple of items on their specials menu. Besides the takoyaki, everything else was a bit disappointing. The soft shell crab didn't really have a taste other than the batter, and the mango tasted really artificial. I'm not sure what was going on there, but no one liked that roll. Even my son, who absolutely loves mango and sushi, didn't like it. My youngest son barely touched his sushi combo. The unagi roll was good, but really tiny and not too much unagi in it. I'm not sure if it was an off day, because it was one of my mom's favorite places. But even she was disappointed and said she probably won't be back. One thing I did appreciate though was how they have modified chopsticks for kids! That was a nice touch. Service was okay.

You can truly feel the family-oriented vibes--they took the time to get to know us and checked in throughout the dinner without being overbearing. The menu has so many good options that it was hard to choose, so I went with a 3-item bento box. I ordered the salmon teriyaki, mixed sashimi, and mixed tempura. The bento also came with miso soup, salad, and a side of rice. The portions were HUGE--I had enough leftovers for lunch the next day (not complaining at all!). The fish was fresh, the salmon teriyaki was flavorful, and the tempura was perfectly crispy and delicious. Overall, amazing food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

They treat everyone who walks through that door like family and the service is extremely friendly. They are also very family oriented. They were always chatting with our kiddos and other kiddos at other tables. The amount of food they give you is crazy. The rolls were humongous! We were too hungry and I forgot to snap a photo, but they were HUGE. Our 2 item bento boxes were also XL. There was so much food! It was actually a little overwhelming. 1 piece of sashimi is actually 2 or 3 (they slice it really thick---which I'm actually not a fan of). The tempura was delicious. They were big pieces and I felt like they were prepared and fried well. Not overly greasy and the batter was nice. The fish seemed fresh, but I really don't care for thick slices of sashimi. Overall, everything was good, but the fish threw me off. I feel like you lack finesse when you do thick pieces of fish. The rolls also had so much rice. If you value quantity over quality, definitely recommend. If you value quality over quantity, I'd maybe skip.

We'd always only gone for their lunch menu before, but we were really craving sushi and sashimi last night, so we thought Fuji would be the best place to go since we were starving!! We noticed that the dinner menu wasn't that much different from the lunch. Seems like only a handful of items are added, so we still made sure to try some of those dinner-only items. One was the Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab, and it was absolutely delicious! The whole thing was edible, so there was no need to de-shell the crab, and the tempura batter was nice and crispy. The crab also didn't taste fishy at all. I also liked that they served it with a tempura dipping sauce on the side because it helped refresh the dish and cut back on the greasiness a little bit. Another thing I was really super curious to try was the Smoked Salmon. I did order it, but I think the guy working at the sashimi section misheard me and ended up giving me regular salmon instead - boo! I wanted to go back and order more later, but by that point I was already really full, so I decided not to be greedy. Other than that, everything else was pretty much the same as the lunch offerings. In general, my brother and I really like this place. It's definitely our go-to spot when it comes to all you can eat sushi and sashimi. My brother and I love getting a huge plate of sashimi with a variety of fish like Salmon, Yellowtail, Mackerel, and even Unagi too.
