The prices were reasonable and the quality was impeccable! We got the Shirley temples. I loved the blue raspberry Shirley temple, so sweet, tangy and refreshing. Definitely what I needed on that hot day. I got the sakedon. Now I've had many a sakedon and I can tell you this one's got a great bang for your buck. For the price you get an exceptional amount of salmon and the salmon was quite buttery. Melt in your mouth. That and the escolar along side the hamachi. Worth the visit. The Teen & I opted for Japanese and after seeing Tuck on the Grams' rave reviews, in addition to the Yelp reviews, we headed from the Hill that is Pleasant over to Concord. The food was made to order, hot and delicious. Me: an order of gyozas, spicy garlic, edamame, and the mixed tempura. She: steak teriyaki bento box, with gyozas as her side. We: miso soup, and the salad for starters. Service was good, as we were greeted upon our arrival, seated immediately and Jessie checked on us just enough. Those spicy garlic edamame are definitely for those who like spice, and that steak teriyaki was tender it almost melted in my mouth. The miso soup and salad were just the perfect serving size that I wasn't stuffed before my meal came. Aww, such sweet service! I'm pretty sure that the woman that served me may have been one of the owners and she was so attentive and kind that she made me really enjoy my visit. I settled into a booth in the corner and ate my usual sushi setup: miso soup and a side salad with an avocado cucumber roll. It was very good and the staff were welcoming the entire time, checking in on me to make sure I was enjoying my stay. I loved the decorations in the restaurant, too. Faux foliage, wood everywhere, it was gorgeous. It reminded me of some sort of secret garden and I loved the feel of it. It's a little dim-lit because of the surroundings, but I didn't mind at all and had a great time. We decided to try this place on a whim. And we were pleasantly surprised! Service was ok, not enough wait staff and they took their time getting the bill and to go containers. The food was surprisingly very good. Fresh ingredients, very fresh fish, vegetables, and meat. The dinner comes with miso soup and a small green salad. The food was prepared fast and we didn't wait long! The casual vibe, decor was eye appealing, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. We definitely will be coming back for the delicious fresh food and fast service. This might be our new go to sushi place in the concord area. Came here for lunch at 11:15 on a Friday, restaurant was empty so I had my choice of seating. Staff was awesome. Immediately greeted me, then again I was the 1st one there. I ordered a Bento box with Chicken Katsu and Sashimi. The waitress brought over a steaming hot bowl of Miso which was a great starter on this chilly day. When my Bento arrived I was blown away with the portions. Refreshing salad, a huge pile of perfectly cooked rice. Two, Not One, Katsu cutlet and 5 pieces of Sashimi. All for $16.95. Score..... I believe their 5 piece Sashimi on the appetizer menu was $14.95 by it self. So the chicken Katsu cutlet was cooked perfectly, Crispy on the outside, moist fully cooked on the inside. As for the Sashimi, 3 tuna and two salmon in huge slices. The tuna was just ok, salmon a better quality. Bottom line, a great find. I've been here before for rolls and they were awesome. I'd probably not come here just to order Sashimi or Nigari but for a Bento or Roll, you can't go wrong. read more

For the 49er roll, the salmon is so fresh, the cuts are thick and generous and melts in your mouth. We came about an hour before they closed and the salmon was still SO fresh. The Tonkatsu Don was such a huge portion and it came with two cutlets and an insanely huge amount of rice. The miso soup and side salad were also so delicious, we usually never eat either at any other Japanese spot. Other than the amazing food and great portion sizes, the customer service is amazing!! Absolutely love this place. Been going here for some time now and it is just the cutest little sushi joint. Reminds me a lot of Japan and their cute little decorations. The food portions are ridiculously generous, food always includes salad and miso soup which is delicious! We come here for dinner but I also come fairly often with my colleagues for lunch. Everyone in the restaurant is very friendly and they even decorate for little holidays like Valentine's Day. The server is the sweetest girl and she remembers us when we come in. This place is such a hidden gem in the Concord area. My boyfriend and I came during lunch and were so surprised with our overall experience. Service was super fast & everything came out so quickly. The Giant roll is actually GIANT. Think 2016 chipotle burrito, or something girthy like a gym bro's bicep. I was SHOCKED to see piles of salmon, unagi and tuna on top of a huge tempura california roll. It came in a full sized take out box because the standard roll container can't contain all of it's glory. Insane for only $16. Another plus is that every order comes with a soup and salad! We ordered 2 rolls takeout for a picnic, and ended up with a huge sushi meal. Good thing we were hungry! Service was great and the restaurant is small and comfy.
