    Chirashi

Another Friday night and there was only one other table of 2 who already had their food. We went with grilled wings with house sauce and the Chirashi. It took quite a while for our food to arrive but all the food was great. The wings were juicy and tasty and the Chirashi had really fresh fish. The food here is amazing but be prepared for a wait.

I came here on family's recommendation - it's their favorite spot for sushi. I wasn't as convinced but they like it for its authenticity (small business, and you can see who's making the food). The service is really friendly and polite, which I appreciated so much. We got a bunch of food. The natsu bate was basically like the dragon roll except eel inside instead of shrimp. I liked it a lot. I also got the lion king roll. It wasn't as good as Ozora's. The salmon on top was like mush, and not flakey. What's nice about this place is that they have a vegan box! The place itself is a little dated, but because of that, it feels homey. Not much seating, so might not be able to accommodate large groups. Bonus: their toilet seat is heated.

Let me just say, the food is pretty good we enjoyed our dishes; however, there were some issues. One we waited almost an hour for some of our food to come out and we were dining in and maybe 3-5 groups of people inside. When they brought the sashimi out there was a piece of hair on it and honestly I was hungry at that point and picked it out. The rest of our order came out 30 mins after that. They were trying very hard to keep up with their Doordash orders that they weren't providing the best service for their diners. This being our first time, we felt bad because there was maybe 3 people in the kitchen and ONE server who was also a host. They did not have a good system at all. We saw one man come in to order and went to the bar near by to wait for his order. I would love to try again on a different day. I think they would do so much better if they didn't accept so many DoorDash orders. Otherwise my husband and I enjoyed the atmosphere and delicious food.

Ordered through uber eats! Had the lion king and gyoza. Both were yummy but it took over an hour to get delivered to Benicia.

Sorry for respond to you late. Yes our happy hour is 4:30pm - 5:30pm everyday!

I'd love to know the backstory. Who's the owner/chef behind this? Looking forward to visiting soon! Looks great, and a very welcome addition to the area 😊

You can navigate the Japanese menu. You will fall in love with this place Someday I will go ahead and be brave. Of course I love their sushi as well. It's just a comfortable eating experience. We'd always only gone for their lunch menu before, but we were really craving sushi and sashimi last night, so we thought Fuji would be the best place to go since we were starving!! We noticed that the dinner menu wasn't that much different from the lunch. Seems like only a handful of items are added, so we still made sure to try some of those dinner-only items. One was the Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab, and it was absolutely delicious! The whole thing was edible, so there was no need to de-shell the crab, and the tempura batter was nice and crispy. The crab also didn't taste fishy at all. I also liked that they served it with a tempura dipping sauce on the side because it helped refresh the dish and cut back on the greasiness a little bit. Another thing I was really super curious to try was the Smoked Salmon. I did order it, but I think the guy working at the sashimi section misheard me and ended up giving me regular salmon instead - boo! I wanted to go back and order more later, but by that point I was already really full, so I decided not to be greedy. Other than that, everything else was pretty much the same as the lunch offerings. In general, my brother and I really like this place. It's definitely our go-to spot when it comes to all you can eat sushi and sashimi. My brother and I love getting a huge plate of sashimi with a variety of fish like Salmon, Yellowtail, Mackerel, and even Unagi too. I also love how quick the service was, and they impose no limitation on how many times we can order or how many items we can get each round. We just feel really comfortable eating here. We'll definitely come back again in the near future!

I love sushi and…read morehave been to a number of other ayce sushi places and tbh, none of them compare to Fuji when it comes to both price, quality, and consistency. For the price, it's very affordable as you pay a flat price and can order everything off the menu. There's no extra charge for sashimi either which I found that all other ayce sushi places do and even with the extra charge for sashimi at other places, their sashimi is often small and the quality is low or just poorly prepared. At Fuji, the sashimi is always consistent and they provide great cuts and variety of sashimi like salmon, eel, tuna, mackerel, and more. I love that it's already included as part of the price and there's no hidden or extra fees. The rolls taste great as well! You can easily grab the rolls from the shelf where they put the freshly made rolls or if you don't see the rolls you want, you can ask the sushi chefs to make them. Personally, I find it more worth it to ask the sushi chefs for sashimi, hand rolls, and the aburi (seared) salmon which is my personal favorite here lol. For the appetizers, you need to order with the waiters but luckily they're very quick and attentive! The fried oyster is really good. The space itself is pretty large and you'll either be seated at a table or at the bar but if you're able to choose, definitely go with the bar! The bar includes the rotating conveyor belt which often has salmon nigiri and other small dishes which makes it more convenient to sit there. This review has been long overdue tbh but I've been here enough times and the quality, consistency, variety, and price is what makes me keep coming back!

Parking was a bit tricky as they had some sort of event and a lot of the streets were closed off so I had to drive around a bunch of times. Luckily I came earlier than my reservation time. It was pretty nice weather out so I opted for a table outside but the ambiance is nice inside. Dim setting if you want to sit inside. I ordered a spicy pineapple margarita for my drink but it tasted like it didn't have any alcohol in it so that was a bummer so I didn't really want to order any other drink. I ordered the spicy edamame for appetizer, but it wasn't spicy and lacked a little in flavor/seasoning. I still ate it as I needed some sort of vegetables. For my food, I ordered my favorite salmon melt! This is a must order when you come. Always a hit! (I dipped my edamame in the sauce and it added great flavor to it lol) They had a Mother's Day special for handrolls and I was tempted to try it but didn't want to be super full, so I got two nigiri's instead; one hamachi and one spicy scallop. Both were so good! I would definitely order it again. Hamachi was fresh and soft. Easy to chew. Spicy scallop was made with a spicy mayo and cut up into pieces. Both were really good portion sizes. I was full but wanted to order more cause they were so good. I was offered the dessert menu but I was full so I didn't order any. Love coming to Sasa. Great service, great food and nice restaurant. If you get a chance, definitely check them out!
