Location: excellent for us. Parking: Ample spaces available DIne in and carry out are available. Japanese food, meals and Sushi, are served here. We have only sampled the sushi rolls. So far, we have enjoyed all of our selections. The menu has levels of rolls. We choose from the +$10 or more offerings. It's a 'Mom & Pop' owned business in our neighborhood and are happy it's in business. read more

From the outside, it may not look like much, but the inside opens up to a modest sushi restaurant with everything you would expect. Despite the shut off exterior, the small interior serves the restaurant well. After I ordered my food, the waitress had my food ready promptly before I could connect to the nearby Starbucks WiFi. I enjoyed the food and presentation. I would have liked my sashimi to be colder and not room temperature. I had an overall good impression. Good food great service. Even though the restaurant is a little dingy, I would come back. It seems that the spirit of the restaurant pushes past the few drawbacks read more

Hanabi Sushi - Hanabi Bento B - Japanese Near Me - Concord, California

Really wanted some rolls and nigiri and this place is close to my place so had to give it a try. Lots of parking available. Be sure to check hours because they close between lunch and dinner. They have a special of two appetizers for $13.99 or two rolls for $20.99. We got the roll special - a rainbow roll and the red dragon roll. We also got two salmon nigiri and two hamachi nigiri. The fish was fresh and the rolls carefully made. Will have to come back to try the chirashi and other items. read more

This is our favorite sushi spot. It's a small neighborhood restaurant tucked away in a strip mall, but inside is cozy and friendly. We get there between 4-5p for dinner, before the crowds come and we always start with the garlic edamame, spring rolls, and a shared beer. I get veggie rolls and family gets all the other rolls. They can't get enough! The food is delicious and the service fast! read more

Have historically gone to this location many times but had not been in years until recently. Rolls were subpar and service was poor. Waitress acted like we were a bother and she didn't want to be there. I asked if there had been an owner change and was told no but something has shifted and I'll likely never return. read more

I have been spending more time in Concord and this spot is my favorite neighborhood sushi spot. They have great quality fish, great prices and sizable portions. I normally get takeout from them. I highly recommend their bento box. It's really generous. It comes with salad, miso soup, an egg roll and edamame! I have a big appetite and I often can make two meals out of one bento box. I really like their teriyaki beef and salmon. I also love their vegetable and shrimp tempura. It's battered to perfection and so crispy and light. The staff are kind and attentive. I highly recommend checking this place out. It's a local gem. read more

We LOVE this restaurant! It's a great place to grab lunch before picking up our kids. And the salmon sashimi is the best we have had.

Small hole in the wall spot for excellent sushi. The restaurant is small but tables are still spaced enough you can feel private. Service is always spot on and the sushi is always very good. Prices are on the high side, but where aren't prices on the high side? read more

Excellent rolls, heart attack roll is my favorite, the people are nice and the restaurant is clean.

If I could give the service a 0 I would. The lady working as the server in there tonight is rude. Has a TERRIBLE attitude towards customers. She kept trying to walk away while we were still ordering. This place needs better servers she is terrible. Including the way she speaks to people as well. Never going back again she's lucky she even got a tip. read more

After recently moving to the area, we decided to try Hanabi Sushi and were very pleasantly surprised! The food was good, and very well portioned, I usually finish my plate but I took some of this home. It was my first Ton Katsu and it was delicious. It came with side salad and rice. We shared a Golden Gate Roll, for the price I don't see how you could beat this, it was a lot of sushi for the price and had excellent flavor. My wife got the special dinner Bento Box and it was a lot more food than she was expecting. I stole some of her California Roll and it was one of the best I've had, again it was a thick roll for sushi which I liked a lot. Service was fast, two tables sat down right before us but we were still attended to quickly and got our food within 8-10 minutes, I was impressed. I also noticed that they were pumping out to-go orders. The interior is classic sushi restaurant, no frills, nothing fancy, but for those who know, those places are often the best. We live less than a mile away and will definitely be back! read more

The waitress whit shorrt black hair i dont know if she is the owner has a bad attitude, leaves the food on the table, she took our order, never offer something to drink. She brought our food and never came back to check us if we need anything else. But she did make sure to charge GRATUITY. So sad by i will never come back again. read more

Food is always delicious and served fast. Our family has been enjoying Hanabi (both locations) for over 20 years.

So went into this restaurant, as we wanted to have a quick Japanese lunch. Sorely disappointed, unfortunately. - Appetizers 2 for $13.99 ( got the combo Tempura and karaage) - tempura )2 pieces of shrimp, 1 each broccoli, mushroom, zucchini, and sweet potato) - both were good - Sashimi Lunch Special $27- good size pieces, husband enjoyed it but only one shrimp, imitation crab stick - that can go. Better to have two pieces of rib. - Unagi Don $20- 8 pieces of Unagi sashimi, thinly sliced, hardly any sauce for $20.00. Disappointing. The pieces were very small. I was expecting a third piece of unagi that you would normally get at other restaurants. - $8.00 for two VERY WEAK green tea!!! Had to ask for a second cup and waited for them to boil the water . Total for everything $75.50 for everything, without tip. We both agreed... find someplace else. read more

One of my favorite sushi spots in the bay area. All their rolls are really good. Great service and staff.

've been here a few times now, and it's always a solid experience. The food is consistently fresh and tasty--especially the fish, which is of great quality. Prices are reasonable for what you get, and while the service is friendly and efficient. read more

If you hella hungry? Come here for a quick fix. food is ok. Near decent. Just be aware this old mid 50's Korean Lady that waitress and runs the cash register here need an attitude adjustment. She is so rude and customer service is out the window. She lays the plate and cups down hard on the table. Expect to call out multiple times get some attention to the table. Also her whole demeanor just screams she hates humans. The old owners are a gem when they worked here. read more

Fast and vary clean place vary nice workers as well I 100% recommend this place came in orders and they made the food fast really good btw

The miso was really satisfying my craving and the salmon was so fresh the tempura was so crunchy and everything was just so perfect

Took my family here. Food is decent and restaurant vibe is decent but they tack on this "service charge" and it's preposterous. Our bill was 67 dollars plus tax. They add 13 dollars out of nowhere. It was only 4 of us, 1 of which is a baby. Entire bill jumped to 87. Won't be going back read more

Excellent food. Okay service. Nothing bad to report but life and food are expensive these days so a happy welcome and smiles go a long way to making it a 5 star experience. I do appreciate their 2 for $18.99 sushi rolls. This time, instead, I had the Hamachi lover & unagi roll. read more

This place is cute and small, and the food is delicious! We tried the deluxe bento box A with the salmon and it was delicious and a very generous portion for $23, the sashimi was fresh and a big portion although the salmon teriyaki was a pretty small portion. My partner had the Katsu Don, which he loved and was a good size! The Golden Gate roll was absolutely delicious! The service was quick and friendly. Would definitely recommend! read more

I absolutely love it here. This is my family's go-to sushi spot in Concord, and when my dad's birthday came around, of course, we ended up here. Often uncrowded, the employees are so attentive and happy to welcome you in. They have a great sake selection and their fish is always fresh and well prepared. Not only that, but the hot-menu items from appetizers to main are delicious. My brother always gets karaage while my dad enjoys gyu-kaku and chicken teriyaki. Plus, they always have wonderful deals and specials. The inside is warm with tasteful decore without going overboard. Hanabi is a wonderful fan favorite in my family. read more

Based STRICTLY on today's experience and the service. If you see my previous review my daughter and I are here once twice a week, after today we won't be back. I don't know if it's just Fridays or what but every Friday we have a horrible experience. And it's not like they are busy busy. I suspect it's simply this particular server. (Especially as I just watched six ppl walk out because she simply didn't acknowledge them.) Last Friday they served me and simply didn't bring my five year old her salmon for over 45 minutes! And she was so hungry. ;-/ Today it's just me my edamame is flavorless with BURNT garlic. My roll was flavorless flat. And I know the server could tell I wasn't. Happy so she just ignored me Instead of checking on me. Now the bill is here and she has been avoiding bringing me change. Girl if you don't pick up my check and bring my change. You nor the chef earned a five dollar tip. I will be finding a new favorite sushi place. These last three experiences have not been good. It's very disappointing She didn't even bring me a bowl for my shells so I had to put them in the same bowl And where is the tempura in my roll? That's all flour. I miss the other chef who got a new job. I wish he was still here and the other Asian server she is lovely. These Friday people are disappointing Just like that you've lost a steady regular read more

As I'm back working in this area I came here to today during my lunch. Staff was quick and the place seemed clean. I ordered the Hot Night Roll and the TNT Roll. Both were delicious! Definitely, will come back sometime to try more items off the menu! read more

We've ordered from this place a number of times, hoping that the closest sushi place to our house would turn out to be at least good. That's a hard no. Indifferent, at times hostile service. Food made with little to no care at all. See photo below. That's typical unfortunately. Sushi most of the time arrives warm, any katsu dish is overfried until wooden. We're done trying. read more

Still not sure why they don't have 4 plus stars ratings I've lived close by for the last 6 plus years and I have seen how busy it has gotten within the last couple years. The place is clean and the sushi bar is at the very front with a few seats. The place probably seats about 35 to 40 people. The service is quick and friendly and the food is always good. I never had a bad dish, I've tried the sushi, ramen, tempura and even the bento box. Not one complaint on my end. I think they are underrated considering they are always busy especially on a week night the place gets packed and at times gotta wait. If you order for pickup max time it takes for your food to be ready is 15 minutes which is nice when you don't want to cook anything. All in all I would rate this place higher. read more

my family and i still go back to this place often. the rolls are very consistent and are ready within 15-20 minutes for pickup. we usually order takeout, so i can't say much about the service this time. however, compared to our last visit, our most recent visit was an upgrade. our waitress checked up on us often. she seemed in a little bit of a rush despite us being the first and only customers in the building for a while. but it's still wayyy better than being dismissive or absent. a few of my personal favs are the dynamite roll, salmon lover roll, and the yellowtail sashimi. i highly recommend this place if you're looking for variety, consistency, and fast service! :) read more

After seeing this place every time we pick up Starbucks in the Olivera shopping center, we finally decided to give it a try since it was so close. My daughter and I were absolutely starving so I said what the heck? We can try it and get a couple of rolls to hold us over. Inside is small and quaint. Service was good and she took our order quickly. We ended up getting 3 rolls. Rainbow roll, Golden Gate roll, and Boston roll. All three were pretty tasty. I believe they were about $11.95 each which is the going rate. We enjoyed our rolls. They were good. We would definitely come back again since we are stuck in the area for gymnastics sometimes when we don't want to head back into 242. Worth a try. 11/30/19 This is our go to place now due to its great location to where my kids train so we are here all the time. There is one waitress that knows us now and she is awesome! So super friendly she makes my kids smile with her sweet attitude. We get take out or dine in almost every week at least. Tonkatsu is always on point. My daughter loves the Mikey roll, rainbow roll, orange blossoms will without sauce. On weekends dine in they have specials on specific rolls. We got a rainbow roll and Hwy 4 roll for $18! At any rate, we come here for the consistent good food and our bomb waitress!!!! Do try, they're great. read more

I'm still dream and salivate over the first bite of the Monster roll. Was this supposed to be a review? Sorry - all I really want to talk about is the Monster roll. You see, I have a background in manufacturing and engineering and when I see something without flaws I become obsessed. The monster roll I ate had no flaws. The flavors balanced like a Michelin Star plate, the batter layered and fluffy yet crispy like it was made in a lab with molecular gastronomy techniques. The filling plentiful and not overcooked (like most fried rolls are), but, more interestingly, everything inside was perfectly squared off and assembled like it was handled by a precise robot. I was so entranced with the roll that, before I knew it, it was eaten. I stared at the empty carryout container and contemplate my life's decisions for several minutes after. The other rolls (spicy Salmon special and hot night) were good, but could not compare to the monster. That's fine. Then there was the California roll which, really threw me off. It had a slight sourness and fishy smell like it may have gone bad. It was hard to finish. I'm hoping it was a mistake and that's why I plan to revisit for my next sushi fix. read more
