I have been spending more time in Concord and this spot is my favorite neighborhood sushi spot. They have great quality fish, great prices and sizable portions. I normally get takeout from them. I highly recommend their bento box. It's really generous. It comes with salad, miso soup, an egg roll and edamame! I have a big appetite and I often can make two meals out of one bento box. I really like their teriyaki beef and salmon. I also love their vegetable and shrimp tempura. It's battered to perfection and so crispy and light. The staff are kind and attentive. Food is always delicious and served fast. Our family has been enjoying Hanabi (both locations) for over 20 years.

After recently moving to the area, we decided to try Hanabi Sushi and were very pleasantly surprised! The food was good, and very well portioned, I usually finish my plate but I took some of this home. It was my first Ton Katsu and it was delicious. It came with side salad and rice. We shared a Golden Gate Roll, for the price I don't see how you could beat this, it was a lot of sushi for the price and had excellent flavor. My wife got the special dinner Bento Box and it was a lot more food than she was expecting. I stole some of her California Roll and it was one of the best I've had, again it was a thick roll for sushi which I liked a lot. Service was fast, two tables sat down right before us but we were still attended to quickly and got our food within 8-10 minutes, I was impressed. I also noticed that they were pumping out to-go orders. The interior is classic sushi restaurant, no frills, nothing fancy, but for those who know, those places are often the best. We tried the deluxe bento box A with the salmon and it was delicious and a very generous portion for $23, the sashimi was fresh and a big portion although the salmon teriyaki was a pretty small portion. Often uncrowded, the employees are so attentive and happy to welcome you in. They have a great sake selection and their fish is always fresh and well prepared. my family and i still go back to this place often. the rolls are very consistent and are ready within 15-20 minutes for pickup. we usually order takeout, so i can't say much about the service this time. however, compared to our last visit, our most recent visit was an upgrade. our waitress checked up on us often. she seemed in a little bit of a rush despite us being the first and only customers in the building for a while. but it's still wayyy better than being dismissive or absent. a few of my personal favs are the dynamite roll, salmon lover roll, and the yellowtail sashimi. i highly recommend this place if you're looking for variety, consistency, and fast service! :) read more

As I'm back working in this area I came here to today during my lunch. Staff was quick and the place seemed clean. I ordered the Hot Night Roll and the TNT Roll. Both were delicious! The eel sauce on the side is highly recommended as it goes perfect on the top of the Hot Night roll. Overall, solid sushi spot and very close to my work. Still not sure why they don't have 4 plus stars ratings I've lived close by for the last 6 plus years and I have seen how busy it has gotten within the last couple years. The place is clean and the sushi bar is at the very front with a few seats. The place probably seats about 35 to 40 people. The service is quick and friendly and the food is always good. I never had a bad dish, I've tried the sushi, ramen, tempura and even the bento box. Not one complaint on my end. I think they are underrated considering they are always busy especially on a week night the place gets packed and at times gotta wait. If you order for pickup max time it takes for your food to be ready is 15 minutes which is nice when you don't want to cook anything. All in all I would rate this place higher. read more

I believe they were about $11.95 each which is the going rate. We enjoyed our rolls. They were good. We would definitely come back again since we are stuck in the area for gymnastics sometimes when we don't want to head back into 242. Worth a try. 11/30/19 This is our go to place now due to its great location to where my kids train so we are here all the time. There is one waitress that knows us now and she is awesome! So super friendly she makes my kids smile with her sweet attitude. We get take out or dine in almost every week at least. Tonkatsu is always on point. My daughter loves the Mikey roll, rainbow roll, orange blossoms will without sauce. On weekends dine in they have specials on specific rolls. We got a rainbow roll and Hwy 4 roll for $18! I'm still dream and salivate over the first bite of the Monster roll. Was this supposed to be a review? Sorry - all I really want to talk about is the Monster roll. You see, I have a background in manufacturing and engineering and when I see something without flaws I become obsessed. The monster roll I ate had no flaws. The flavors balanced like a Michelin Star plate, the batter layered and fluffy yet crispy like it was made in a lab with molecular gastronomy techniques. The filling plentiful and not overcooked (like most fried rolls are), but, more interestingly, everything inside was perfectly squared off and assembled like it was handled by a precise robot. I was so entranced with the roll that, before I knew it, it was eaten. I stared at the empty carryout container and contemplate my life's decisions for several minutes after. The other rolls (spicy Salmon special and hot night) were good, but could not compare to the monster. That's fine. Then there was the California roll which, really threw me off. It had a slight sourness and fishy smell like it may have gone bad. It was hard to finish. I'm hoping it was a mistake and that's why I plan to revisit for my next sushi fix. read more
