Our little family had our very first trip out of the city with our baby girl,and this restaurant made it such a memorable experience for all the right reasons. We had just placed our order when our daughter started crying because of her sleep regression. My husband took her outside to change her diaper, but she was still very upset. We felt terrible because our food had just been served, and we had to ask if everything could be packed to go instead. The two wonderful ladies who helped us were incredibly kind, patient, and understanding. I apologized for the inconvenience, but they immediately reassured me that it was completely okay. I believe the lovely woman who seated us and packed our food was the manager, and she told me she understood because she's a mom herself. Those simple words meant so much to me that I almost cried. As a new mom, moments like these can feel overwhelming, and their compassion made us feel seen instead of embarrassed instead of judged. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine care are something I will never forget. We didn't want the amazing food they had just prepared for us to go to waste or lose its freshness, so we parked outside and enjoyed our meal right there in the parking lot. I'm so glad we did because everything was absolutely delicious! You can truly taste the care they put into every dish. Thank you to both amazing ladies for treating our little family with so much warmth and understanding. I wish I had gotten your names so I could thank you personally. My first time coming here and they have an extensive lunch menu which is amazing. I got the sushi lunch special that came with 6 piece nigiri, 4 piece CA roll, 4 piece spicy tuna roll, miso soup, and salad. The fish and sushi were good sized pieces. I don't usually get full of just sushi but this lunch special was filling. It was a slow Monday and my food came out fast and service was good. 1 June 2025 They tried to squeeze us in a crowded area under a speaker again like on our last visit. We asked for and they quickly moved us to a better spot. Josh was our waiter today and did an amazing job. We had some confusion on our part how to choose bento box items. The menu is a bit confusing but Josh took great care to make sure we weren't surprised with an extra $5 charge. Later my wife peeped softly to me that she needs lemon. Like a bat listening with sonar, Josh swept in.."Did I hear someone needs lemon?" The service and food here has always been great and this visit was no exception. Josh informed us it was happy hour. Unfortunately we had already chosen regular priced meals from the daily menu and didn't notice the skinny strip of paper menu on the table. Geriatric eyes need a magnifying glass to read that tiny crowded print. smh. Maybe print on double-sided 8.5 X 11 paper with average sized font? Today the grilled Saba (mackerel) was so good. #WOW! Presentation of the food? Perfect. We both enjoyed our meals. Worth the 20 minute drive. There were a few distractions that I posted as attachments. Service is always great. We are always greeted with a smile regardless if its slow or rush hour. They are also very tentative and patient. Restaurant is spacious with a bar seating. Lots of room to walk around tables and booths. Do wish the lights were a bit brighter. Some dishes comes with miso soup or miso soup + salad. Helps fill the stomach a bit before enjoying their sushi. Selection of rolls are great. Really enjoyed the Newport Roll the most out of all choices. They are packed with flavor literally and figuratively. Their Nigiri Mix/Combo is also good and filling. Their Sushi and Sashimi for $40 is totally worth it. The sashimi was so fresh and so good and it just melts in your mouth like butter! 3 big slices of tuna, yellowtail and salmon sashimi with 8 different nigiri and 8 CA rolls. Their sushi boat (Medium is $120 / Large is $140) may be pricey but it comes with a lot of slices/pieces. Do watch out for their unagi though as there are bones in them still. But all other types of fishes were great especially the salmon pieces. Highly recommend their chirashi bowl $($30) or 2 item bento box ($19). Both are worth the amount and the price point. This will be a regular spot for us if we crave for sushi which is quite often. read more

However, the tempura was too oily and didn't taste like tempura I've had at other places. It was almost like they deep fried it the same way you deep fry calamari or french fries. We almost always get their bento boxes and especially love their salmon sashimi and beef teriyaki, but I'll treat myself to a Chirashi bowl every now and then. Kansai (specifically Concord location) is my favorite and go-to sushi spot. They have an extensive list of rolls, generous portion sizes, and they have happy hour (3pm-6pm AND late night HH). My favorite rolls are the John roll (on HH for $12.95) and the Pink Lady roll, and we always get hamachi sashimi ($11.95 on HH for 5 fat slices). We've also tried the lion king roll and S.P. Cucumber roll - lion king roll is good, just really saucy! And cucumber roll is nice and refreshing. Haven't tried any other items besides the sushi, so can't comment on the rest of the menu. But I feel like you can't go wrong with any of the rolls. It's really hard to venture off and try other sushi spots when Kansai always fulfills that sushi craving. Highly recommend! read more

We just happened to stop by this parking lot near Shop and Park as my friend was looking for an EV charger for her car as the other shopping center nearby had chargers but they were all in use. This shopping center has at least 4 chargers, 2 cars to each charger so that's great and there were Asian restaurants nearby so we decided on Kansai Concord!
