My granddaughter who lives in concord wanted to come here because she heard it was good. Well, I'm here to tell you. I ordered food and it wasn't good. Everything was bland. The sushi was average the chicken teriyaki lunch with bland, white rice and we had to ask for extra teriyaki sauce. The small piece of chicken wasn't flavored or cooked well barely any sauce on it. The extra sushi roll that we bought with shrimp in. It had the shell on the shrimp I almost choked on it not expecting it. The iced tea was obviously a powdered mix not fresh iced tea. They gave us these little teeny pieces of lemon for the iced tea that didn't make a difference lunch total with tip was $85 not worth it. I will never go back not worth it to me . Very disappointed

    Hamachi fin

Came and sat at the bar. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were pretty busy for a Wednesday night inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordered a Japanese fashioned which was good and strong. Also ordered a hamachi fin. While it tasted good, same sauce as the other ones, presentation was not as good as the one in Roseville. It looked rushed with the jalapeños thrown on the plate. The hamachi was small and about half the size of the location in Roseville. Kind of disappointing but I guess Mikuni started in Sacramento area so it makes sense since this is not the original location.

Went today for BB's 16th, and it was another great experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated at the sushi bar, which is always my favorite place to sit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were especially happy to be served by Chef Tyler, the lead chef, who has many years of sushi experience. It's always a treat to watch him work -- the care, precision, and consistency really stand out. We ordered the Judy Two Roll, the DMC Roll, and the Kaizen ribs. Both rolls were made to perfection, and the torch presentation on the DMC roll was fun to watch. Everything tasted fresh and well balanced. The Kaizen ribs were flavorful and a great addition to the table. BB also got to spin the birthday prize wheel and won a cute Mikuni glass, which was a nice touch and made the celebration feel special. Food is always great here, service is consistently amazing, and there's hardly ever a long wait. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Parking at The Veranda can be a bit tricky, so take your time. Always a solid choice, and we'll definitely be back.

This is the most over-priced sushi place given how average the quality is. Completely bland and the texture wasn't anything to rave about. Service was fine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was ok in the bar but average in the main dining room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Nothing special for the price and taste, I was shocked by the mismatch between price and quality. In summary, sushi is ok but no wow factor at all.

Huge restaurant in a shopping center ehere we had lunch here. Tried the udon soup, bento box with tempura and teriyaki chicken and shared a spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna roll wasn't spicy and lacked flavor. The bento box teriyaki chicken wasn't freshly grilled and was about half dried out and tough. The udon barely had any chicken but the broth and noodles were delicious. Excellent service they were friendly. Overall an average restaurant experience while out shopping

Stopped for lunch on our way back from the city today. I ordered the sea of greens salad on the lunch menu and it was so good! The seared salmon was fresh and the rest of the dish was piled high with veggies and had ponzu and garlic chili crisp on top as well. My mom ordered the Sake poke don and said she really enjoyed it too. Service was great, just like always.

Today's visit was honestly amazing. I really wish we got the name of the chef at the sushi bar, but both of them made our rolls perfectly. It was very busy (Christmas shopping), so parking was rough and the restaurant was busy, but they still managed to make our rolls with no mistakes (we have modifications). Tony's leftover roll is my absolute favorite and no longer on the menu, but they still make it for me and I am so appreciative.

Located in the veranda shopping center. Come during a weekend and it is hard to find parking. I went on a weeknight and plenty of open spots. I used to come to Mikuni's for lunch all the time. The dinner menu changed a while back and I miss the bento box dinner option which is no longer available. I met a friend for dinner and we both wanted the bento box although she ordered a few small plates that made it her own bento. I opted for the beef curry dinner. The warm curry on a cold winter night hit the spot. Mikuni is always a good choice in the veranda if you decide to ice skate for a bit or do some shopping and then head over to lunch or dinner. They did have a dinner special for two people which might be a good choice on our next visit.

Visited here with friends - we were able to get seated pretty quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior decoration is fantastic![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was also very good. We got to share multiple dishes, but the hamachi and dessert particularly stand out for how great they tasted. We will definitely be back.

Went in on a rainy Sunday after church. Was given a 20 min wait estimate so we just roamed the area until they texted us that our table was ready. The actual wait time was only about 10 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat in the covered and heated outdoor patio and the ambiance was clean, inviting and spacious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server Flo was prompt and pleasant. Food was very good! Def a great experience and I hope to go back more often.

I'll start by saying, we will be back. Started off rocky but was quickly turned around once mentioned-- we sat there for maybe 10 mins without as much as eye contact, let alone water, menus, or any kind of acknowledgment once seated. I went up to the front to mention and things got much better from there. We had drinks, Ebi Puffs (bomb!), garlicky edamame (hella bomb), BMW and 49er rolls. We also had some desert which was good, although the green tea tiramisu was a little heavy handed on the green tea. Couldn't get enough of the garlicky edamame and location is great!

If you're a sushi lover (or even sushi-curious), Mikuni in Concord is a must. It's in the heart of the veranda so the place the vibe is lively. The service is on point, and the food never disappoints. But let's get straight to the star of the show: the Pimp My Roll. I don't say this lightly the Pimp My Roll is hands down one of the best specialty rolls I've ever had. It's packed with flavor, perfectly balanced, and totally crave-worthy. You get that satisfying crunch, a little heat, and a creamy finish that makes each bite better than the last. It's rich without being overwhelming, and honestly, it's worth the trip on its own. The rest of the menu holds its own too super fresh fish, creative rolls. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, Mikuni delivers every time. Just don't leave without ordering the Pimp My Roll. Trust me.

It was my first time trying Mikuni. It definitely will not be my last!! The menu selection here is ginormous. So are their rolls. One sushi roll was enough for me to get full. I don't remember exactly what I ordered, but it had raw scallops and spicy mayo on it. It was delicious. The cocktails are also good! I ordered a lychee drop. They have the cutest kids menu. My toddler had the tofu nuggets with rice and edamame. The tofu shaped nuggets had carrots and peas in them. It was a pleasant surprise. The ambiance is nice as it's located inside the Veranda. The restaurant is spacious, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Service was great. Even though we came a busy Sunday, our food came out in a decent time. The staff here is on top of their game. I believe you can come here several times and try something new each time. After my experience, I'm convinced that everything on the menu is good.

Our server was incredibly friendly, and the entire room shared the same warm, easygoing vibe. The small, speakeasy themed space was already packed at 5 PM, so reservations seem like a must. Everything we ordered was well-prepared and delicious, but the standout dishes were the beet salad and the shrimp & grits. The beet salad had a perfect mix of textures; chopped pistachios, tender beets, and crunchy radishes over a pillowy ricotta. I finished the salad wishing there was more. The shrimp & grits featured a potlikker sauce that absolutely lived up to the hype; it made the dish. I wish the shrimp & grits were served in a bowl rather than a shallow dish. I found myself chasing the sauce and polenta around the plate, trying not to push it over the edge. That said, if it were in a bowl, I might have just drank the sauce, so perhaps this is the restaurant's way of preserving a bit of dignity for its guests. Next time, I'm hoping to visit when oyster po' boys and fried green tomatoes are on the menu.

The vibe is effortlessly chill, with whimsical decor--think antique lamps, an old record player, and lots of little details that make you want to look around. The whole place felt alive in the best way--buzzing with conversation, laughter, and people clearly having a great time. We didn't have a reservation, but lucked out with seats at the community table. Bonus: the other guests were super welcoming, which just added to the fun, communal feel. We hit happy hour, and wow--it's a good one. Tons of interesting bites and a solid drink lineup. I went with a whiskey sour, my friend had the ginger beer on draft (very refreshing), and we shared the prawns, Brussels sprouts, and creamy mac & cheese. Everything was seriously delicious. Shoutout to our server, Melanie--friendly, attentive, and totally on it, even with the place packed. A couple things to note: it does get loud, so maybe not your spot if you're after a quiet, intimate dinner. Also, the happy hour menu listed Brussels sprouts but didn't mention bacon--I'm vegetarian, so that was a bit of a surprise. (It is noted on the regular dinner menu, which I admittedly didn't check.) All in all, such a fun, lively spot. I'll definitely be back for more bites and cocktails.

The experience begins in a small glass-enclosed entryway where you're greeted before the hostess is notified by radio. Moments later, the glass door opens, revealing a beautifully designed speakeasy with an elegant yet inviting atmosphere. The space offers comfortably spaced bar seating, cozy booths, and tables, all surrounded by tasteful décor that perfectly captures the speakeasy era while incorporating subtle honeycomb-inspired touches. The spirit selection is impressive, and the appetizer menu is thoughtfully curated. Their specialty cocktails are creative, balanced, and beautifully presented. We sat at the bar, where our mixologist, Kalika B, was both personable and professional. I always enjoy sitting at the bar when the bartender is willing to share their craft, and Kalika did exactly that. She explained the story behind several of their custom cocktails, the history of some of their spirits, their signature custom ice program, and offered excellent appetizer recommendations. Her knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience even more enjoyable. The entire space was spotless and clearly designed with great attention to detail. It filled up quickly after opening, so I was glad we arrived when we did. Despite the growing crowd, there appeared to be plenty of staff, and the service remained attentive without ever making guests feel rushed. There is only one restroom, but during our visit it was never an issue, and there was no wait. I've been chasing speakeasies for more than 20 years, long before they became as popular as they are today. Whenever I travel, I make it a point to seek out a local speakeasy, so I've experienced quite a few over the years. Honeycomb ranks near the top of my list. It's the perfect size--not too small and not too large--with an outstanding selection of spirits, exceptional craft mocktails, knowledgeable mixologists who truly know their craft, and cocktails tailored to your palate. The atmosphere is elegant yet approachable, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality of the experience. The Honeycomb Speakeasy in Livermore is truly a destination-worthy cocktail experience. Be sure to check their Instagram for the current password, then treat yourself to one of the best speakeasy experiences in the area.

They post their updated schedule and the weekly secret password there since it changes regularly based on bookings. Here's what we tried: Cusco Comb (1000/10): Absolutely one of the best cocktails I've ever had. It was sweet, strong, and incredibly smooth without the alcohol being overpowering. I loved it so much that I immediately ordered a second one. I would honestly come back just for this drink alone. Honeycomb After Dark (9/10): Such a fun twist on an espresso martini! It reminded me of a Vietnamese coffee with a boozy kick. As the ice cream melted, the drink became even creamier and more delicious. Gin & Tonic (6/10): I'm not personally a gin and tonic fan, but my sister really enjoyed it. She thought the ratio of gin to tonic was spot on. Fries (6/10): Super crispy with a great texture, but they were a little too salty for my taste. The only downside is that there's only one bathroom, so keep that in mind if it's busy. If you're looking for a great spot to grab drinks in downtown, I highly recommend this speakeasy. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the cocktails are outstanding, and the service is consistently excellent. I'd probably skip the food next time and eat somewhere else beforehand, then come here to enjoy the amazing drinks.
