    Drunken Noodles

My wife and I were craving good Thai and remember reading about this place in a local FB group. We stopped by and Som, one of the owners greeted us and checked to see if we had any questions. We ordered the Spice Thai Basil (ordered it mild, but should have gone for medium) along with the Drunken Noodles. They give you a good amount of food and both dished were delicious as was my wife's Thai Iced Tea. Great service, food and prices.

Lunch at Home Thai in Martinez - cute atmosphere and a speedy lunch for $15!! Red veggie tofu curry with rice salad and a crispy roll. Everything was delish and hit the spot on this cold day!

Food and vibe is awesome! The place is sorta small but decorated very nice and it's super clean. This is my go to spot around the area due to location and price.

There aren't very many Thai places around me, so I ventured out to Martinez to check this spot out. I am in love with their table condiments. A Spicy dry seasoning imported from Thailand, a house made chili oil, and a siracha style sauce. All of them were so delicious. For my meal I ordered fried chicken over rice and shrimp pad Thai. The fried chicken over rice was so good! Great flavor on the rice and the chicken had great crunch to it. Pad Thai was also good and even better with the dry spicy seasoning. Service was great and very friendly. I can't wait to come back.

Take out review. Everyone on our bocce team brings something on game night. Last night one of my teammates picked up pad Thai from Home Thai cafe. While I didn't pay for it, I sure did eat it! It was packaged really well and delicious! When a craving hits, they are now at the top of my list.

It was my first time there, the food was okay, the service food and the ambiance very nice. It's a small restaurant in a little mall, clean and well organized. I don't think I'll be going back since it was not anything out of the ordinary.

This is by far the best Thai we've had in East bay. We were very happy to learn that all their curries can be made vegan or vegetarian since they do not have shrimp paste in their curry paste. In addition to the drunken noodles and appetizers, we got the kao soy with tofu (vegan) and it was absolutely fantastic!

Met up with a friend from Pleasant Hill for lunch today and she wanted Thai food for lunch. She suggested we try Home Thai Cafe in Martinez. Wow! What an adorable little cafe. Five stars for food, service and ambiance. My friend selected yellow curry from the lunch menu with pot stickers as the appetizer. I selected Pad Thai with chicken and vegetables rolls as my appetizer. So delicious! Wish I lived closer otherwise I'd be eating here every week!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! For starters, the staff are so kind and welcoming. They provide such great service it really makes you feel at home just walking through the doors! They are so on top of getting the food out, checking up on customers, and just everything! The inside is SO SO SO pretty :D every time i walk in i'm amazed by how nice it looks inside. It isn't a very big restaurant but it feels like you're walking into a whole new world in there! There are lights all around, and flowers that decorate the walls. They even redecorate the front desk around holidays too! The food is amazing in flavor and portions! I usually get a lao style papaya salad which is super tasty! I really like getting appetizers too to share with friends but it also looks super cute! The pad thai, pad see ew, and red curry chicken are also really great dishes to try! I really love coming to this place and I think most people would agree it's a wonderful restaurant to visit for any meal anytime any occasion!

My sister and I were heading home from Davis. My sister had mentioned Home Thai Cafe and I love a great Thai Restaurant. The whole family came out to dinner. We arrived at Home Thai Cafe and the inside was super cute. Everyone that worked there was super friendly and helpful. Our waiter was super sweet and checked up on us to make sure we had everything we needed. My mom and I ordered hot tea. Our waiter brought our tea cups filled with hot water. He then brought a wooden box and inside was plethora of teas. I chose Early grey but not sure what my mom chose. My sister and her boyfriend ordered Thai ice tea. My mom and my dad shared the appetizer Home Thai Combo and the Grilled Pork Salad. The Home Thai Combo had Chicken Satay, veggie roll, Crab Rangoon, Crispy Tofu and fish cakes. I tried the veggie rolls and they were delicious. My sister ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken. My sister's boyfriend ordered the Pad Thai with Shrimp I ordered the See You with chicken. This was very good! The portions are pretty big. My sister, her boyfriend and I both took our food home. I can't wait to have it for lunch tomorrow. All the food was great! I would definitely come back to this place!

    Chicken wings (I think?)
    Margie L.

It was our first time visiting this restaurant. We ordered the chicken wings I'm pretty sure that anyone who ordered and received these wings would have thought they were being pranked. Like what are these even? Fried bones?! There was 3 drumettes (one missing from picture because it fell out after I flipped the lid all the way open) These were not fresh, my guess is they were cooked the day before and reheated. Not to mention these were $15. Not acceptable whatsoever. I have never ever ordered wings from anywhere before and have them look like this. Working in the restaurant industry you would know better not to send these out of the kitchen. **update** we brought them back to the restaurant and were given our money back. The lady also said the wings are SUPPOSED to look like this! In my opinion these don't look like they came from a chicken. Chickens do not have these small of bones!!! Will not be going back to this place again.

Whether you're in town for jury duty, work, or play, here is a good lunch spot. I walked into Aberdeen Café during the lunch hour. Booths lined the wall on one side, and the bar was on the other. Korean pop music played softly while other customers ate lunch. I was seated at the booth and was served a glass of water to start. I got the #2015 Salt and Pepper Fish Filet lunch special with hot and sour soup of the day, egg roll, and substituted-in fried rice. I was served the hot and sour soup first. It was a wonderful appetizer. The classic spicy pepper and sour vinegar were balanced. The bits of crunchy mushroom and soft tofu added interest and texture to the thick broth. This was comfort in a bowl. The entree was delicious. The fried fish was hot off the wok when it arrived, steaming on the plate along with fried rice, broccoli, an egg roll, and some sweet and sour sauce. I enjoyed the fish; the heat of the jalapeno slices and the salt elevated the light crispiness and mild sweetness of the fish. The fried rice was light and fluffy with bits of egg. The sauteed broccoli had a solid crunch, and the vegetable egg roll was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This was a good, satisfying lunch at Aberdeen Café. When I'm in the mood for comforting Cantonese food again, I'll be back for more.

We landed on Pho May and we were so pleased to find a solid pho place so close to our house! The restaurant itself is exactly what you'd imagine for a Vietnamese restaurant - super inviting, Vietnamese decor, friendly employees, and heavenly smell of food coming from the kitchen. We got pho ga (chicken pho) and pho tai (rare beef pho) to go, along with a Thai iced tea. All of them were stellar. The broth for both soups were very flavorful, not too salty, and most importantly piping hot! The portions of meat, noodles, and toppings were very generous and super fresh. The prices are also super reasonable for the quality of the food. We will definitely be back - this is our new go-to spot in Martinez for pho!

I ordered a 15 and a Thai tea. The broth was awesome. I was hoping for some Basil but got cilantro instead. The shrimp was good but the rest of the seafood lacked flavor. It didn't matter how much hoisen sauce and sriracha I put I couldn't get the right flavor flavor. The tea was kind of bland. Not sure if it was mostly milk and not enough tea or if the tea was just not as strong as in other places. Also this isn't so much their fault and I know fixing systems are hard but it being cash only makes it difficult. Luckily there was a bank down the St and I was able to get some cash. All in all it was "good" I might give it one more try or maybe two more tries because I want to taste their sandwich and the beef pho. Hopefully my next experience is better.

Over the last couple years I've been trying to start it earlier and earlier during the holidays so that I don't feel horrible after Jan 1st. I realize Im getting older and I just want to eat more healthy meals at home in general. Because of that, I decided to stop making like 95% I used to make. Orange Chicken and Beef Chow Fun was part of that list This meal was supposed to be one of the last times I ate this meal and while it wasn't bad, I definitely felt just a tad disappointed with the quality. First off, respect for using thighs for the chicken. I feel like chicken breasts are doable but I feel like ultimately chicken thighs are the way to go for Orange Chicken. I really think that chicken breasts should just be reserved for something like Lemon Chicken. I also like that they give you a good amount of chicken too. A tiny more than I normally expect. Or at least thats how it felt. The flavor wasn't bad either but I the texture wasn't the best. Lots of the breading on the pieces were coming off easily which isn't the end of the world but it just felt like a single fried was used instead of a double fry for extra crispy. Not saying that happened but thats just what it felt like. It could have also been that it was sitting at the restaurant longer than usual. Im guessing it was the latter since I ordered DoorDash. I also ordered the Beef Chow Fun. It was fine but just overall found the sauce lacking. Same deal with the Potstickers. The texture was fine but flavor was just ok. I was really excited to try these too since it seemed like a favorite in town. But they were just ok imo. I honestly just felt like a lot of food just was rushed a little. The interesting thing though is this place also does sushi too so Im curious if their Japanese part of the menu maybe better than their Chinese side? Or Vise versa. Hard to say but I do want to try them again soon.

Was not sure it was fully fresh. The pork belly was rubbery & very thinly sliced and more veggie than meat. The wings came with the Korean sauce on them already, than on the side. The Korean sauce was soy sauce forward instead of a balanced flavor. Not a fan. The pickled papaya was not spicy & was pickled in a sweet pickling marinade. We walked in to find the restaurant nearly empty--just my friend and I in a space that could seat around 40. That's usually not a red flag for me but it made the underwhelming meal stand out even more. We ordered the #7 Hamachi Kama (grilled yellowtail collar), which came with rice and salad. The fish didn't taste fresh and had an odd texture--not what I've come to expect from this dish. The rice had a strange aftertaste, and the salad dressing was more like watered-down mayonnaise than anything appetizing. Next came the shrimp and veggie tempura platter. I get that tempura is a simple dish--hot oil, light batter, a good fry--but even that missed the mark. The batter lacked flavor and the portion was surprisingly sparse for the price point. I really wanted to like this place. The staff were polite and attentive, which I appreciate.
