Before I get into the food I need to say their Thai Coffee was literally just sugar. My first sip was like a sugar bomb. I got it to go, no ice so I could have it the next morning. Very fair sized spring rolls. I loved them and prob the best part of the meal. I added shrimp for $3 extra? But they add something inside that makes it a little more bright and it was really good. The dipping sauce was great too. Idk what it was but it def was better than a standard peanut dipping sauce. I got the Khaopiak (chicken udon), and my sister got the Khaosoi (minced pork noodles). Mine was not spicy, the broth was clear but I don't think mine supposed to come spicy. The broth is very rich and it tasted very good. Noodles are handmade and they had great texture. I did add a ton of the chili oil that was provided at the table and it def added the kick I wanted. My sisters Khaosoi definitely looked like it was supposed to be spicy, and she has been here before and said it def lacked the spice. So we ordered two dishes to try - the noodle soup (pork) and the drunken noodles (chicken, mild). I thought both delicious were excellent, there was a lot of flavors and very delicious. I enjoyed everything. I felt like the restaurant feels like a good size but at the same time, it is a little small because the table are tables of 2-4 so it may be more cumbersome for a larger party. I imagine it can still work for a larger party by pushing tables together and using the stool/bench seating too. I didn't have any issue finding a spot to dine in for weekday lunch. I had to use the bathroom here, they are all-gender single stall restroom - surprisingly very clean. I was thrown off by the sinks which are located outside of the restroom instead of inside. The second that food hit my mouth, my body reacted like I'd just bitten into a battery acid gummy. It felt like my mouth was cut and within minutes, I was riding a wave of nausea. By the time we got home, my stomach was auditioning for a volcano documentary. I brought the dish back to the counter and politely told the waitress this was not medium. She nodded, gave me a knowing look, and said, "We'll let the back know." And that was it. No replacement. No apology. A woman - possibly the manager or owner - greeted us and said we could sit whatever. She served us waters and offered recommendations as we browsed the menu, knowing it was our first time. She was friendly and briefly chatted with us too. We got 2 orders of the Khaosoi/Minced Pork soup. It was well-rounded. I was drawn in from the first slurp of the tomato broth. There were also pieces of pork belly, which usually isn't my first choice, but I found myself relishing the crispy bits of skin. Good chunks of bok choy too. My friend and I wanted soup, and this place fixed our craving! We also shared the Oua Lao Sausages combo (the mild version), which we got with sticky rice, veggies and lime sauce. Glad we took up this recommendation - get the sticky rice over steamed. The blend of sausage, rice and lime sauce was a good kick, and the veggies helped balance out the spice. During our meal, two parties ordered the King's Platter that has most, if not all, of the proteins on the menu + noodles, rice and veggies that can feed up to 8ppl. It's a spectacle, with the server announcing to the whole restaurant that it's being served. It's epic and the top-priced item at almost $125. We would drive back just for this alone. Unfortunately for what we expect to be the star of the show was a big let down. The papaya salad that we had was kinda old. It tasted like it was bad. And I've been eating papaya salad my whole life so it definitely was not was the fermented sauce. We know the difference.
