This is a cool place. They have people making fresh pastries that you are able to watch if you choose. The pastry selection is incredible!! There is a relaxing area in the back that you would not want to skip, at least check it out if you're here. The ambiance is amazing! The food is very tasty. I requested a sugar free syrup for my latte and they do not have any syrups. They make their own flavors. I ended up with a really light chocolate, so a mocha and it was absolutely DELICIOUS!! i think that the drinks and pastries here are delicious. the london fog is pretty yummy here. it is a bit pricier than other bakeries but it is local and easy. i would say it is extremely loud inside and crammed, but the outside seating is beautiful and there are many shady and sunny options. the upstairs area is also great to study there!! (they have outlets) just get there early because it gets full. now for service, they were rude and a bit racist. they did not treat us the same way as the people in front of us and it was so noticeable. however during recent times, it hasnt happened again. read more

They know what they're doing here. Honestly haven't heard about this place but it was highly recommended from friends who have a place in town. It seemed like it's a staple here. Just along the main strip of town, this place is busy. We stopped by early morning just a little after they were opened. Even mid week and there was a massive line already forming. They must be good. There's two entrance, first being the main where the front door is. Patio seating available along the sidewalk. And then the back entrance where the majority of the seating is outside. It's like a secret garden with all the trees and plants. Somewhat a treehouse feel as well. They have 2 levels with tables. Beautiful spot sitting there under the tree having a nice cup of joes and a beautiful pastries. Indoor also has some seating along the front and I believe there's a second floor right above the entrance. There's mainly one line for everything. You wait to place your order if you wanted pastries and food. I think you could just order drinks at counter if you're not getting food but don't quote me on that. Everyone was waiting together. Once you reach the top, there's the counter of fresh baked pastries that's made daily. Things do sell out pretty fast. We literally arrived not long after they open and the ham and cheese croissant was already sold out. Besides pastries, there's fresh baked bread. Coffee drinks were pretty good too. After you pick what you want, the cashier is at the end and that's where you pay. There's a counter at the back where drinks are picked up. The whole place has an open kitchen feel where you could actually see all the workers preparing the sweets. In the back kitchen, you could walk by and see the pastries chef preparing and putting together the fresh sweets. It's like you're part of the kitchen. It's a cute place and it does get busy. The locals know about this place so it a hot spot. The holiday makers know which their names is getting out there and making a big splash for them. We've been a few times while in town and each time, alway busy and great. Amazing pastries and good drink. It is on the pricer side but that's pretty much everywhere you go these days. read more

Wildly popular bakery located in the downtown Benicia area. There's a solid lunch menu with a good variety of items as well as lots of pastries and bread that you can purchase to go.. The space is pretty large. There's seating outside as well as a loft upstairs. It seems like people will come here to do a little work and studying as well. I came here a few times when I was working in the area. The first time I got the ham and butter sandwich on baguette since you can pretty much tell if you're gonna like the bakery based on that classic. On another visit, I got the focaccia salami sandwich. Both sandwiches were excellent. I also got a few pastries to go like a lemon meringue tart and a chocolate/ hazelnut torte. I also bought a few other breads to take home to my family. I honestly was pleased with everything I've gotten from there. I'm blessed with some pretty great bakeries where I live, but this is a place that you would wish is close to you as well. read more

On the way up during a trip, we stumbled upon this bakery. Never been to this area before. It had quite the line It was a weekday and still busy in the morning. We got a coffee drink,chicken pot pie, almond croissant, sticky toffee pudding and cookie. The coffee was smooth. The Pie crust was good. The Croissant had lots of filling. I first discovered this place when I started getting my hair done in a salon upstairs from where this is located and I come here every so often. It gets very busy, so if you come I've had good luck with little to no line Sunday mornings before 9am. They have many delicious looking treats but my fav is the raspberry cream cheese danish. It's buttery, crunchy and soft on the inside. The raspberry cream cheese filling is so good, perfect balance of sweet raspberry jam and tangy (and slightly sweet) from the cream cheese. Also have tried their cinnamon roll bun, it was tasty. My kids enjoy their cookies. Crunchy on the outside but soft in the middle. Their coffee, for me personally, is hit or miss. Sometimes you get a good latte and other times it has no flavor and taste bitter. So many desserts/pastries though, I would definitely return to try some more! read more

This bakery is pretty amazing, not only is the food and desserts super yummy they also have such cozy spots to hangout and eat your fresh baked goods or savory snacks plus they have yummy coffees and drinks to go with it too. My book club often meets here to discuss our recently read books while we chat away and enjoy all the yummy snacks they have to offer. I offer will grab a loaf of fresh baked bread and homemade jam to share with our group and it never disappoints there are so many seasonal jams to try I always have a hard time narrowing it down but all of them have been so tasty. I heard so many great things about the One House Bakery, so I had to try it! The store was cute and welcoming. I loved the outdoor seating. It offered some shade on a hot sunny day. The store was smaller than I expected. I got there after lunch and they were out of most of the breads. I got an almond croissant, the carrot cake, a yellow cupcake with chocolate frosting & the bread pudding to share. The almond croissant was mid, the carrot cake was dry, and so was the cupcake. I was highly disappointed. The bread pudding, however was delicious! It came with a delicious sauce, and the bread pudding had fruit in it. That may sound strange, but you have to try it! After date night in Benicia my husband spotted One House and thought it'd be a great place to grab dessert. It looks like a quaint little bakery on the inside but it's pretty large once you step into the doors. We both ordered tarts and thought they were pleasant- fresh, not too sweet, and perfectly portioned. this is one of my favorite bakeries in the area. every one of their sweet and savory pastries, cakes, etc. area delicious. years ago i had a guava cream cheese tart from here and i never got it out of my mind. i was instantly a repeat customer. their drinks are great too. they make a killer caramel latte. so flavorful and rich. the veggie pot pie is so good too if you want some hot savory food! this bakery is totally a gem for its beautiful location (treehouse bakery?!? ), clean ingredients, friendly employees, great service, incredible pastries, and it's even family owned. it's just amazing and i don't understand how the line is never crazy long all the times i've been! it should have a line wrapped around the building. read more

First time visiting this woman-owned small business in Benicia! It was only 10am and there was already a line almost out the door. BUT, the line moved very quickly. While you wait, you can grab the menus to look through that are posted near the displays. The front can feel a little bit congested when people are trying to go in and out the same entrance that a line is building up near. They've got everything from wine to pot pies and cakes to pizza. I wanted to order so many things but held back as much as I could. Since we came for late breakfast I was looking for something hearty. I ordered a chicken pot pie to go. It was still nice and warm after a 15 minutes drive home. The crust was very soft, flaky, and fairly thin. There was a generous serving of fresh veggies mixed into the filling which I definitely appreciated. It was seasoned well-- the black pepper shined through and the cream sauce wasn't too heavy. I also got a Passion Fruit Raspberry Coconut Tart. I've never had a dessert where the crust was made with shredded coconut. I'll definitely be seeking out more fun crust alternatives when I try out new bakeries now. I really loved the inner parts of the crust that had a nice chew from the coconut and the crispy edges of the crust as well. The passion fruit flavor was a bit mute but it was tart and refreshing. Towards the back of the shop there's some barstool seating that also has an open window where the employees are decorating cakes and weighing out ingredients. Such a fun thing to watch! read more

I have been hearing raves about this place for years. Unfortunately, I never make it to Benicia. Well, tonight they were at the multi chamber of commerce event and I got to finally check them out. First of all, their display was stunning. Beautifully created masterpieces layered carefully along the table. The lady at the table was so lovely and patient. I got to try a stunning chocolate soufflé which was rich and buttery. They also had a passion fruit dessert that looked amazing, one that looked like a mushroom and delicious bread. I had brunch with my siblings here this past Sunday and had a wonderful time. The place has such an inviting setting with simple and charming decor and plenty of seating available, outdoor tables in the front and back of the cafe as well as two levels of indoor seating. We opted to sit upstairs, where there's a private restroom as well, so convenient. They have so many food and drink options to choose from on the menu along with an array of delectable pastries and desserts in the display case. Guests order at the register and pick up their items at the counter when it's ready. The line of customers got long at times, but also moved quickly. We got quite a few items while there, many of which the four of us shared. This includes the biscuit sandwich with bacon (so cheesy, with a runny egg, and a flaky buttery biscuit), veggie/cheese empanada which had a nice spiciness to it, roasted squash and gorgonzola salad, biscuit sandwich with ham, all day breakfast sandwich with bacon and a thick layer of scrambled eggs, vegan oatmeal filled with a variety of fresh fruits, snickerdoodle latte with oat milk served hot which was sweet and delicious, an iced mocha that had a strong chocolate flavor I loved, iced lavender oat latte, vanilla almond donut, apple fritter, bread pudding, and oatmeal cinnamon cookie. Everything we ordered was made of quality ingredients and so tasty. Every time I've gone, it's either been extremely busy/crowded, or I've walked in and felt confused about where to order or what the process was. On a few occasions, I didn't feel acknowledged and ended up leaving because I wasn't sure where I was supposed to go. I've looked at their website and noticed online ordering is available, which is great, but I've hesitated because I'm still unsure how pickup works once you arrive. I do plan to give them another shot at a slower time during the week because people seem to really love this bakery, and I'd genuinely like to experience what everyone else is raving about. I ended up ordering couple Americanos 8oz each not the usual 12oz and a hot chocolate it is a 12oz We ordered a pot pie, a breakfast sandwich with fried egg instead and the romesco sandwich all these serving will be in a to-go recycle containers so does the coffee and hot chocolate and I added some pastries too Serving sizes for are fair expect to spend at least $100 for three people. Preordered for Pi(e) Day and it was so easy. You order and pay online, and you get to choose a pick up day and time. I love that! I was hoping to pick which pies to get but it is a pre-set savory box and a pre-set sweet box. Of course, I got one of each. Parking was a nightmare. I circled around twice to park at the end of a cross street. I arrived at the pick up window and waited a few minutes. I was a little concerned how to get this back to my car, but the boxes were smaller than anticipated. The photos of their pies on their social media seemed big but I wasn't at all disappointed. The price, however, was a little steep. Next time, I'll definitely be picky about which pies to get next time. I brought the treats over to share with family and it was such a hit! Holy goodness, I did not expect this place to be so damn good. Well, maybe the line out the door was a sign.... but I was still blown away by all their food. They are busy for a reason but the line moves fast. For food, their whipped yogurt parfait is probably top 3 things I have ever eaten in my life - no joke. The texture was amazing like eating fluffy ice cream - and the raspberry jam and granola were perfect pairings. Their sandwiches are huge and full of fresh, quality ingredients. What a cute bakery, located in a beautiful neighborhood with beautiful churches and small businesses nearby! Thanks to my cousin sharing a Facebook post about Le Van Van, I took advantage of being near Benicia to not only check out this huge Labubu made entirely of bread(planned to be there through Halloween), but to also get my hands on some baked goodies from this bakery I've heard and read excellent reviews about! Seeing Le Van Van up close, I was like a child admiring this fantastic work of bread art! My friends, family, and I were already impressed by what we saw and read about from the ABC 7 article. Le Van Van is clearly a labor of love and it brought me so much joy to see it up close and admire its details. Seeing children and adults posing with Le Van Van like I did put a huge smile on my face! What a clever way to welcome customers to your bakery! The staff are attentive and patient and helped me choose my pastries, based on my asking which are their most popular items. I bought some macarons and shortbread cookies too, which were temptingly and perfectly placed near the checkout area. The savory toffee pudding is delectable! I can't wait to try the blueberry scone, morning bun, and Cuban beef pie I took home!
