Original Zombie

My ex-husband grew up eating these in the Concord School District. Our daughter wanted some and we were just a few doors away so we gave them a shot. The service was quick and friendly and the ambiance is cafe-style. Bread & cheese, what's not to love?

Jalapeño Breakfast Zombie

Talk about ideal weather for some comfort food. Made my way to grab two zombies late this morning and they did not disappoint. Chorizo Breakfast and Jalapeno Breakfast. The chorizo one got flattened on accident by yours truly. Flavors and freshness are as good as ever!

This place has me staggered! How can something so simple taste so good? Patty's Zombies are amazing. They are fast, warm, affordable and tasty. I can't think of anything else I could possibly want when I am looking to indulge a craving. If I lived closer I would be here every day and they have lots of flavor options to choose from so I doubt I would ever get bored. I have tried the ham and cheese and sausage and cheese so far and I can't wait to try more. The convenience, the value and the savory flavors are here folks. IYKNK. If you haven't tried this location yet, then in the words (and voice) of Shia LaBeouf "Do it!"

Pizza Zombie, Jalapeño and cheese Zombie

I had a random urge to grab a zombie and I remember this place being nearby from where I was. It has been several years since my last update, so decided to give this place a try again. Pizza Zombie: The bread is like Parmesan crusted, which really makes it delicious for a pizza based zombie. The insides were also plentiful with cheese, pepperoni and the marinara sauce. It was also very warm and the bread was quite delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Jalapeño and Cheese: I wanted to give a non meat option a try and this one looked good. The worker gave me a fresh baked one from the oven, which I greatly appreciated. I must have been unlucky with my cutting skills since most if not all the jalapeños were on one side and the other was just plain cheese. Still, I enjoyed the heat of the zombie and the cheese was gooey and yummy. Overall, I enjoyed the zombies I ordered and I look forward to coming back again.

Ham & cheese

Nothing better than a warm cheesey bread bun!! I wish I grew up here because I would've loved to have these as a school lunch! The ham & cheese was delicious - lots of melted cheese and slices of ham warmly secured in the foil sandwich bag. The cookie display was enticing so we got some cookies as well. I would've preferred the snickerdoodle to be softer like the chocolate chip was, but it was still good! Lots of parking in this shopping plaza - at least when we got there in the morning, it was pretty empty. Service was friendly!

Solid breakfast! The original is 100% original while the jalapeno breakfast zombie was stellar. Great spicy, flavorful sausage, bacon. Yum!

My family and I ended up here randomly today (Saturday) after doing a yelp search for lunch. We arrived and it was BUSYYYY, but the wait time was said to be 11-20 minutes. So we decided to wait. Wait time ended up being OVER 30 minutes, but IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT. We almost decided to just walk right over to Kinders, after waiting 30 minutes. But we thought "wth, we've waited this long, let's just wait a bit longer". Finally after almost 40 minutes, we were seated inside. There is no patio seating here and the venue is really small. I wouldn't recommend for groups over 4-5 at the pleasant hill location unless you call to make a reservation in advanced. Though I'm not sure if they take reservations. Anyway, we ordered the following. Kids pancake and fruit. Kids fried chicken & fries + a side of extra crispy bacon. Both kids meals came with an apple juice. Crab Benedict. Chicken and wafffles. Ube pancakes Hot chocolate Thai Iced Tea & an alcohol beverage. The something sour. Can't remember the name but had grapefruit, soju, tajin rim. Damn near EVERYTHING was delicious!! We loved it alllll. Minus the hot chocolate. My kids did not like it, but it wasn't bad. Just not a favorite. On top of the food being yummy! It's all so decently priced. For everything mentioned above, our bill came out to $150. Which to me, in today's world, for 4 people, all of that?! Is not bad at all. I spend more on a less when grocery shopping for two days worth of groceries. We WILL be visiting again!

The bar faces the kitchen area and is sort of awkward, but the main dining area, albeit small, is wonderfully decorated and modern. The drinks are Yelp and IG worthy. And also ... delicious! The food, just as delicious. And BEAUTIFULLY presented. They do have a bar area which would be cute for drinks and appetizers, but again, the open kitchen is right there which makes the vibe a little awkward. But, I'd still go for after-work drinks. Hello peeps!! Let…read moresee who is in the chopping block todayyyy!!! Come on down 1800 cafe. So let's start off with the outside of this place. Very clean very welcoming. For being a place right in front of moving traffic very clean. Now when you want in you are greeted by a server and asked how many in your party and then asks you to sit where ever you want. Which is pretty cool because if you wanted to sit by the window you can. Which is what we did lol. Now for the food when I say wow I mean wow!!! There of the order of the family Son- sprite bacon cheese burger well done Wife- coke and bacon cheese burger Me- bottomless mimosas waffles with one egg and two bacons second I had a stake well done Sorry but I forgot to take pictures all I can say is if you know how my reviews are you know how truthful I am. I'm not going to lie from the service and the food everything was top notch. Every little bit of it was amazing and the music they have goes with the meal you are eating. The steak was juicy not at all dry burgers were the same very juicy. My waffle was a huge most waffle. Now for the moment of truth is this place Dendinger approved??? If you blink, you might miss it. Service is still 10/10! This time around, I ordered a hot matcha latte, and honestly, I wasn't expecting much (let's be real, some places can mess up matcha). But surprise, surprise -- it actually tasted like real matcha! It was delicious! For my meal, I tried the cowboy scramble, which I swear was everything but the kitchen sink tossed in a pan. It was hearty, satisfying, and totally hit the spot. The only hiccup? The melted butter they used on the toast had a weird aftertaste. I can't quite explain it -- like if butter went to a weird party and came back a little off. But hey, it didn't ruin the whole meal, just a little side note. All in all, I'm into the new look, and I'll definitely be back for that legit matcha latte and hefty scramble!

I originally went out looking for a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich and Googled "good breakfast…read morenear me." This spot came up, and although my wife and I have driven past it many times, we've never stopped in. Today, I decided to finally give it a try. After looking through the Google photos, I changed my mind and ordered a breakfast plate instead of a sandwich. Parking was a little challenging. I arrived around 11:00 a.m. and had to circle the block a few times before finding a spot directly in front of the diner. When I walked in, I wasn't sure whether I should seat myself or wait to be seated. All of the waitresses appeared busy, so I stood near the entrance. Once she was available, Marianna greeted me. Initially, I wasn't a fan of being asked whether I was picking up food rather than whether I was dining in or taking out, but I quickly realized they may be accustomed to regular customers who already know the process. Since it was my first visit, I explained that I wasn't sure if I should seat myself. Personally, I think a sign near the entrance would be helpful for first-time guests. Since I was dining alone, I chose a seat at the counter and ordered the Sugar Plum Special with cheese grits and sourdough toast. While waiting for my food, I noticed something that concerned me. The staff did not appear to be wearing gloves, and I observed food being handled after touching various surfaces, including condiments, plates, glasses, and trash areas. While I understand that food service relies heavily on proper handwashing practices, I personally felt uncomfortable watching bread being handled directly by hand. I requested that my toast be handled with a utensil instead, and my request was accommodated without issue. When my food arrived, my eggs were cooked exactly as requested--scrambled hard--and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The bacon was a little saltier than I personally prefer, but that's more about my taste than the preparation. Overall, both items were flavorful. Now, let's talk about the grits. I come from a strong Southern background, and we take our grits seriously. The presentation was fantastic. The butter melting on top and the cheese looked absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, the texture wasn't there on the first serving. The grits were noticeably gritty and undercooked. After a couple of bites, I sent them back and requested they be cooked a bit longer. One of the waitresses explained that customers typically need to request the grits "well done." That was surprising to me because I've always believed grits should naturally be cooked until smooth and creamy. In my opinion, that's how they're meant to be served. Thankfully, the second batch was much better. While they still could have been stirred a bit more, the texture improved significantly and was much closer to what I expected. I also want to recognize Marianna for her excellent service. She was accommodating, attentive, and handled my concerns professionally throughout the meal. Overall, I would return. The restaurant has a warm, family-oriented atmosphere and an old-school diner feel that is becoming harder to find these days. It reminded me of the kind of place you'd visit after church on a Sunday morning or somewhere you'd go with your grandparents for a comforting home-cooked meal. While there were a few areas that could be improved, the welcoming environment and friendly service left a positive impression on me.
