I went to the website for this dealership as they had two 2019 Kia Soul's in Carribean Blue that I was particularly interested in purchasing. Weirdly, the website advised that I needed to call to get the final price of the vehicles. I filled out the online request for information and heard back from someone within a few hours. The gentlemen with whom I spoke asked for my specific location. I advised that I was in Portland, OR and was doing some price comparisons related to the vehicles listed on his dealership website and information I had located with another Kia dealership. He immediately sounded disinterested, but later indicated that he would forward the price of the vehicle to me via e-mail. I NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE FROM HIM!!! After reading several of the Yelp reviews, perhaps it was all for the best. Nonetheless, two days later I made the fateful decision to drive up to Car Pros Kia (Tacoma) and worked out a great deal on the trade-in of my 2015 Kia Soul for the 2019 Kia Soul I originally was potentially interest in purchasing through Redding Kia. I'm always amazed at how places like this manage to stay in business when treating potential customer's with such disregard. It's too bad really! Went to Kia after calling around to different lots. They got me to come down by telling me I would get an amazing amount on my trade in. Gene in sales also took the time to get me interested in coming down by telling me about several different cars in my price range over the phone.I really didn't believe they would give me the trade in value I was asking for. I went down and hymmed and hawwed, and just was not in the mood to buy I car a guess. The next day when I returned deciding I wanted the 08 nissan altima- they made all their promises TRUE. I left with such a nice car, such a fanastic trade value, and a fair deal on the new purchase. Where do I start! My girlfriend and I had been shopping around for a very specific car and had a loan approved in hand from a local bank here in the Bay Area. Ryan was our sales guy and was very helpful, fast and efficient. Not only did Ryan and his team beat out the loan approval we had but they beat the interest rate by a significant amount!!!!! He got us approved in less than 1 day with paperwork ready to sign. Service department is just horrible. They don't accept my service plan I purchased with the car I bought in SoCal, even though I purchased it from a Kia dealer. They also try to to sell me items I don't need, like an air filter when I just purchased one at my last service 3 months ago. They told me mine was black. I had them pull it out to show me and it didn't even look used! So unethical! Also had a problem purchasing tires. They don't carry them on hand and then refused to give me the advertised discount. Ended up talking to the manager and they finally gave it to me. So in a nutshell I wouldn't recommend the service department at all. read more

Upon arrival, I found a very small dealership , but was able to find one parking space in the back.I was there for 20 minutes looking at Kia Soul models, and no one approached me asking me if I needed any help. I was interested in a used '12 model I saw on their website, but had no price on the site. I found the car, but no price was posted on the car. After waiting, I walked back to my car and found it was blocked in by a Kia they had moved. Walking back towards the front of the lot, a employee finally approached me and I told him I was blocked in. His response, "I can get it out, let me see your keys." Wow, you can't move the car you blocked me in with? So I did a multi point turn and squeezed out of the lot. So disappointed in the service department of Redding Kia. I finally am now to the point that I wanted to post online after having an appointment this morning for a representative to pick up my car for repairs AGAIN and no one showing up. Nor did I even receive a phone call. Just no call / no show. I guess my time isn't valuable? Called today and sat on hold for over 15 minutes before hanging up. I have had a number of basic repair issues with my 2015 Kia Sorento that I purchased from the same dealership. I had a noise coming from my AC vents when I use the AC. I was told it was not covered under warranty. I paid cash to have it fixed, the problem still is not fixed. I took my car in for an oil change and basic maintenance. I told the service advisor that I was taking my kids on a long road trip and asked if the technicians could really check over my car. I guess something as simple as filling up my wind-washer fluid and checking my tire pressure was to much to ask. Redding Kia service department is sloppy.... Guess I need to find a new dealership to service my vehicle. read more

Please save your time and money by not going here. The car is a huge lemon and the employees are rude and obnoxious. Last year I had to go 80 miles round trip almost every Friday for 2 1/2 months for repairs on the fuel system (even replacing the tank) I get to go back this Friday to fix a door that won't open from the inside. Talked to the owner last year also and he is just as rude as his employees. Thank goodness it's still under warranty. read more

Let me just start by saying that we generally try to steer clear of car lots due to the pushy salesmen and shady tactics. This was a completely different experience. Chris was calm and patient. Called on the price for a soul was given the run around. So then I decided to use there e price button to find out said price still nothing. So I said wha t the hell and went down. To check out the car I did wind up test driving it. I informed the sales guy what I had to put down and what I could afford. He said "no problem we can do that" so I started the pap r work I was then told my payment would be twice of what I could afford. They were rather pushy and rude when I told them yet again what I could afford. In all honesty all I was to them was another car rolling off the lot. They claim they will go to work for you but they dont. I'm very disappointed in this dealership after hearing good things and getting poor service. read more

As a child of the 80's, I have always wanted a jeep. A jeep personifies America. Freedom, and bad gas mileage. But I wanted one. However, I have never driven one. Today I was stuck in traffic, and low and Behold, there it was. The Jeep. I cut off about 3 cars to get into the lot. As I walk up to the jeep, I can see the Salesman looking at me, so of course I avert my gaze as not to acknowledge him. I just want to check out the jeep. As I am checking it out, I realize something. I don't know anything about jeeps and I am starting to have questions about it. As I am looking around, A salesman comes up and starts talking about the jeep. However, this seemed like a normal conversation. Two guys talking about the awesomeness that is a jeep. No goofy questions "where do you work?" , "what can I do , to get you in this?". None of that . He asks if I would like to take it for a spin. I explained to him that I was just looking and that my llama farm hasn't made a profit,,,so buying a jeep is a long way off. The sales person laughed and said that driving it around the block isn't a contract. We hop in and holy jeez, its a blast. The salesman , Josh G. knew a lot about the vehicle and seemed really intent on me getting use to the vehicle. When the test ride was over, I was getting ready for the pitch, but It never came. I asked a few questions, got accurate answers back and that was it. No pressure, No extreme sales pitch , no games. For this approach alone, after I sell every llama I have, I will be getting a jeep, from this dealer and this salesperson. Everyone on the lot was genuinely nice, its clean and they have a lot of inventory. If you do not shop here, you deserve to ride the bus. for life. read more

My experience at Kia was surprisingly bad. I had looked online and put my information in. I have a busy work schedule so i recieved numerous phone calls and emails to set up a vip appt. I finally responded and agreed to make the appt. When i arrived i let them know i was here to meet the vip manager. It didnt feel like any vip experience. I was asked 20 questions after a quick hello right off the bat.. no coffee.. no lets sit down and talk. They seemed dissatisfied with what my goal was. Went around to a few cars. The guy said he was new and couldn't answer a lot of my questions. They kept taking me to more expensive cars even though i told them my price limit. I get the sales game, but if you arent personable and you disregard what i express in what im looking for than you dont have the right to earn my business. For all the phone calls, emails, and mentions of vip experience and then to have the kind of treatment i received made me confused. Do all you can to get the cust to the dealership only to have a bad experience? Somethings not right with this picture. read more

I took my daughter-in-law 2005 Kia Sedona in for an emergency brake repair. I own a repair center in Boise, Idaho but was visiting in Redding and told her I would take it to the dealership since I did not have the time or tools to repair it myself. The emergency brake light was on and beeping consinously. I took in to Kia on the morning of the 26th of Dec. and told the service writer I thought it was either the sensor switch on the emergency brake pedal or a leaky rear wheel cylinder. After leaving it and waiting a couple of hours for a call back I called them and they told me the rear wheel cylinder was leaking. I told them to replace it. They said they did not have the part in stock, but would overight it and repair would be done on Monday 29 Dec. No call on Monday morning so I called them. Got two different answers, but finally was told the part would not be in until Tuesday morning. Finally got a call Tuesday about noon the Kia was ready. Before picking it up I called my service writer in Boise and asked him the price we would charge for a rear brake wheel cylinder repair. Flat rate time 1.0 hour at $86.00. Part cost $35.00. Misc clean up chemicals $10.00. Total at my shop to a customer would have been less than $150.00. I get to the Kia dealer here in Redding. Hold your hat. About $360.00. I asked to see the Service Manager. Told him that I owned a shop and what I would have charged for the same job and I thought his prices were way out of line. He looked over the order, found out his flat rate book showed 1.3 hours at their price of $100.00/hour and $85.00 for the part. That still comes to only a litte under $200.00. Then of course he charged 1-hour for diagnositic time, which I had already told them what the problem was probably caused by. Anyway, he did finally reduce the price to $290.00. Still way over what I would have charged a customer in Boise. Now I realize in California labor rates are higher. But a note to Kia in Redding. A good repair shop can make a decent profit by not cheating its customers and treating them as they would their own family. You do not have to cheat your customers by inflating your parts and labor cost. A normal parts markup for a wheel cylinder is about 100%. I can understand the labor cost as the dealerships always charge more than the independent shops. Several things come to mind. First, why did the Kia dealership not have a common part like a wheel cylinder in stock? That is a basic part of any brake repair and replacement. That would indicate they do not carry an adequate supply of parts. That same part in Boise would be availabe to me within 30 minutes of my placing an order at my parts supplier in Boise. I would have had the vehicle in and out of my shop within 4 hours and a satisfied customer. Secondly. Don't lie to the customer about when you will have the part in. If it will take 2 days, say so up front. If I have to keep a customers car over 1 day or over a weekend, I offer a free loaner car until their repairs are completed. I also have a free shuttle available to take care of a customers immediate needs for work. For what the Kia dealership in Redding wanted, I would have done both rear brake replacement, including new wheel cylinders at a cost of about $300.00 This would include labor and parts! Based on the above, I would not take any kind of a vehicle to this dealership, let alone a Kia. Its been my experience you will get better service and prices through an honest independent shop. Its too bad you cannot give a negative rating. Get a good independent shop and stay with them. read more

I do not think the service department can be called honest or fair, they may tell you they can have the job finished in a day. But will call back later saying they dont have the parts in stock, (the same parts they said were in stock hours earlier). In late November I found myself in NEED of a new car, but was very hesitant to purchase because the holiday season was right around. I saw a KIA commercial that was advertising many great incentives, and had to learn more about it. I called the Redding dealership and spoke with Max - he was super friendly, readily available and answered all of my questions. I was nervous when calling because I didn't want to be pushed into anything, but Max was great and never made me feel that way! He wanted to know what kind of car I was interested in, features, color, etc. I was eager to provide him with all of my wishful requests. The next day Max sent me a pic of a new KIA Optima and it was just what I had requested, I was so excited. My fiancé and I went to the dealership to meet with Max and check out the car. WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE. Donnie was the finance manager who worked with me that day; Donnie was willing to do whatever he could so that I could drive away with my brand new KIA! I would not reccomend Redding Kia to anyone! Over a year ago we purchased a used car from them and right away started having registration issues. After 6 months of fighting with the GM we still had received no plates or registration for the vehicle... Then randomly we receive plates and registration after threatening lawsuit, but then at closer look we received registration for a Kia that we had not even purchased! After this we forced the GM to take the car we purchased back and just pay off what was left on the loan. However, it is now a year and a half later and we are still receiving registration notices and late notices on the car that we never bought!! We have been dealing with the DMV constantly because of this and we would have never been in this mess if we had never stepped on the Kia lot!! Remember people on the bottom or your sales agreement you are giving the dealer power of attorney to sign your name for finisihing the vehicle registration, etc... Little did we know this meant he could fill out registration for anything, which he obviously did in an attempt to get us to go away by thinking we got plates and being too stupid to notice that they were for a different car read more

The only reason I do not give five stars is because I know nothing of the sales dept., As for the Service Dept. I would give FIVE. Specifically I would like to throw a big thanks to Nemo, who was immensely helpful when I went in last year with the instrument cluster malfunctioning on our Kia Soul. Redding Kia's service dept. appears to be in a constant state of being overloaded with customers (which is likely why they are changing locations). Despite this fact, and seeing him being pulled several directions at once with each visit we made, Nemo was always very calm, courteous, and gracious with his time, ours, and the other customers. He kept us updated as we waited for a new instrument cluster to arrive, and was very good about checking on our transportation situation while we waited. (I live right in town and was perfectly fine without a loaner vehicle). I saw Nemo again in a recent stop by Redding Kia to check on a problem that turned out to be nothing, and was reminded once again of how helpful he was. It makes me sad when good work goes unnoticed, so listen Redding Kia: Do not lose this awesome employee. read more

Took my car there under manufacturer warranty to have the glove box repaired and a recall repaired. Was told they needed to order parts, waited for the parts and it went in to get the repair completed. Came to pick my vehicle up and not only was the glove box not repaired (they ordered the wrong part) but they claim that my side view mirror simply fell off the vehicle while closing the door and that it was glued on. I purchased the vehicle used, so although this is possible I find it highly unlikely that with my opening and closing the door hundreds of times, my teenage kids opening and slamming the door, and my having he vehicle on the freeway for over 6000 miles didn't result in the mirror "simply falling off" they claim that it is my responsibility and they would repair the mirror that magically broke while the vehicle was in their shop for 430.00. Not happy, will never own a Kia product again. I've owned it 4 months and now it needs 4 trips to this shop because of their incompetence. read more
