If i could i could give a zero, i would. I am a single mother and i went in for them to check my car, 2018 Honda Accord. I was told by the dealership that i needed my left light changed. Thinking it would be cheaper i went to Thrive Automotive. I had been getting work done there for a Iong time which i paid a huge amount that i was not expecting, but i considered them again because they were close to my house. This time they told me i needed a new engine, because one head gasket was blown. My car has never heated up and was running like a champ. I told them not to touch it anymore and that i would be there to pick it up. I asked for paperwork but they would not give it to me. My car currently runs fine btw. I do not recommend going there. They will add more and more to your bill. It is a shady business in my opinion. read more

Had an appointment and more than 2 hours later my oil change was finalllyyy finished! Just a simple oil change and it took over a week to get an appointment. Found them from a flyer in the mail, but no thanks, it's way too long for an oil change. I was encouraged by my wife to write this review. In my opinion, besides the good quality of service that they have consistently provided for my cars, their customer service is excellent. Whether I call them or come into the garage the person at the front desk is always friendly and courteous and it doesn't feel disingenuous either. I also don't have to chase them up about services that they're performing on my car(s), which is a frustration of mine with most other garages. Lastly, they don't overcharge comparatively with any other place in town, and even if they did I'm a firm believer in the truism that you get what you pay for. read more

Thrive charges $139 - I show up for my 8am appointment and was asked if I minded waiting until 10am for them to do the job. I said 'no thanks' and left. I took my car in for a service issue. I have never had better customer service. Karen and Matt were awesome. The whole experience was so transparent. They went over everything and had pictures of what needed to be repaired on my car. I had rented a car for 2 days and was told my car would take a while longer. Thrive gave me a loaner car to drive until they were finished. The lobby is clean and they have snacks and a place for kids. Had our truck stuck in 4wd high when we were out of town. We drove through Redding on our way back home and wanted to see if we could get it back into 2wd for the rest of the trip so we didn't ruin the drivetrain. Even though they were absolutely packed, they moved a vehicle, got us on the lift and did a quick fix for us to get it back into 2wd free of charge. This is a great place to have your vehicle worked on. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and provide good quality work for a decent price. They go above and beyond for customers, and they don't try to diagnose your vehicle with a dozen faults it does not have. I've been to this place a few times. The first few times I came in here were to get some basic work done on my car, both time they had it done in less time then anticipated, and it cost less than the estimate. Second time was some extensive work and although it took several hours, my ancient car has never run better. It is worth noting that it is a small garage, and it is located directly next to the railroad track. Be prepared to hear a train or two pass by while you're here. read more

My first experience w Thrive Automotive was entirely positive. My high mileage 1996 Toyota Tacoma had twice been towed to other shops when the clutch had failed to work properly. During the inspections, the clutch pedal resumed working. The first shop advised replacing both the master and slave cylinders for $560, while advising this might not solve the problem. I declined. Seven months later, the truck was again towed. The 2d shop advised replacing both clutch cylinders, the clutch components and the flywheel for about $2588, even though during the $50 inspection the clutch had started working again. I declined. Then I went to Thrive for a "free" 2d opinion. After finding the clutch working properly, Thrive offered to pressure check the hydraulics for $139. I agreed. They then found the rubber hydraulic hose between the cylinders was cracked & leaking. It was replaced. Total charge was $303 after a promotional discount. My truck was in and out the same day. Although most employees were at lunch, my car was examined by a very polite man who told me where to go to get it fixed immediately (as I drive a VW, he recommended a European mechanic). I stopped taking my brand new cars to the dealerships long ago when the dealership kept telling me I "had to have" these extra services performed. Come to find out, these services (I had a hybrid at the time) were strictly optional AND they were charging me 2-300 more then what Stower's would. I love that I can call up and they will always work with my time schedule and or drop by if something happens. They're honest, reliable and fair priced. I recently had to make a trip to Redding to get my wife out of the hospital. As we were leaving town the transmission started acting up. I called a tow truck and they towed me to this shop after hours. I called the next morning and as soon as they had a rack open they brought our car in, spent over an hour inspecting it. Turned out the front pump was leaking on the transmission. They don't do major transmission work. They only charged me for fluid and let me keep the car there until I could arrange a tow back to the coast. Their service was excellent, the people were friendly.
