I had my serpentine belt replaced at this shop before leaving on a trip. Ron was great about getting us in last minute to do the repair, and I appreciated that at the time. However, shortly afterward -- while we were out of town -- the serpentine belt came off completely. We were stranded for hours with my kid being put at risk at a side of a road and had to find an emergency mechanic to install a new one properly. A newly installed serpentine belt should not come off if installed correctly, which raises serious concerns about the workmanship. When we called the shop while stranded, the phone was answered, but Ron was unavailable and busy at the time. We were left to figure the situation out on our own. When I went back on Tuesday, Ron wasn't there, and the staff present seemed annoyed that they had to reimburse the emergency repair cost. Although the shop refunded what I paid the emergency mechanic, they refused to refund the original amount I paid them for the repair that clearly failed. If a repair fails due to improper installation, customers should not have to pay for that failed service. I am asking the shop to take full responsibility and refund the original payment. I hope they choose to stand behind their work and make this right. Until then, I cannot recommend this business. read more

Took my 2019 Nissan Sentra in for a front brake deglaze. I had no problems with my front brakes prior to service at Point S, other than the high pitched sound of the glaze. When I left Kelley charged me almost 100.00 less than the quote and told me the tech noticed my rotors were warped. Why not turn the rotors that day? I was suspicious of it, but I had things to take care of that day. Kelley told me driving up and down Buckhorn would warp my brake rotors. Also suspicious. The drive home proved it was far more than just slightly warped rotors. The entire front end of my car would shake if I used the brakes at even 20mph. I then took my car to D&L motorsports to fix the alleged warp. D&L Motorsports pulled my rotors and they had deep gouges from a grinder. I took my car in with $18,000 miles on 40,000 mile tiers and they would not honor my warranty said it was cause I didn't rotate my tiers . I took in proof that I rotated them then they said it was because my car was out of alignment, but I could buy new ones with alignment for $650 for the cheapest tiers they have. I can get the same deal at wall mart for the same price. But I do think they should honor my warranty cause I paid for the dam thing. read more

Stopped by for a quick tire repair and rotation if they had time. No other customers in the shop as it was 8 am. They told me it would be 2 hours for a flat repair and rotation. I asked to make appt for quicker service he told me they didn't have apts available come back later when you have 2 hours. I asked if I came back later in the day if it would take less time. (Never has it taken that long at any tire shop unless very busy again no customers at all in the bays..) He rudely said it'll probably take longer who knows. I declined and left and went to Tire Cobbler up the road. The guys working there were awesome. Polite and quick. I was in and out in under 30 mins. That's more like it. I usually go to another tire place but my son told me to try this one. The clerk seemed to know what he was doing so I took his recommendation. His price quote was about $60.00 less expensive than the competitor for two tires. When I went in to have the tires changed, it took only about 30-40 minutes and I was out the door. Recently purchased a new battery from this location. The shop is pretty easy to access, and the staff is helpful enough. They ordered my battery from somewhere in Redding, because they didn't have my model on hand. They took an awful long time to get my battery delivered... so after a half hour past expected delivery time, I wandered across the road to Starbucks to grab a java and leer at strangers. Half hour later or so, I'm called to shop. The battery cost a bit more than was expected... but that wasn't the end of the world. The end-price was about 25% higher than the same battery elsewhere around, but once it was delivered I felt like they made me a priority. Our Subaru's battery died on a Saturday morning when we had 490 miles to go on our trip that day. We bought a replacement battery at a parts store, but they weren't able to install it for us. After almost twenty minutes of desperately trying to find a service or mechanics shop open on a weekend morning, we called the Redding Tire Factory. They told us they could put in the new battery as soon as we could get a jump and drive over, and that they only charge $10 for the installation. Sure enough, someone was available as soon as we pulled in, and had our new battery in place in a matter of minutes. We were able to continue on our way within 20 minutes. If I could give zero stars I would. I tried to support the local business instead of going to the big box stores when I purchased tires for my Ram 3500. Ended up that was a huge mistake. 10 months ago I went to Point S Tires and purchased the recommended tires from Don which was the Goodyear Wrangler Kevlar Adventure tire. First visit and tire installation went pretty smoothly no complaints there. However fast forward 10 months my tires are wearing at a rapid rate ( I'm down to 50% treadlife, and I am not an aggressive driver nor do I load my truck down, this is my grocery getter and I drive maybe 20 miles a day mostly on city streets.) On Saturday July 29th while driving down highway 44 my truck began to shake and the rear tire was making a loud noise, we started to pull the truck to the side of the road when the sidewalk blew out. Thank god my truck didn't roll or the tire which went ricocheting down 44 didn't hit another car. Things could have been drastically worse. We changed the tire assessed the body damage and continued home knowing that Point S was already closed for the weekend. On Monday I called down to inform them of the situation and spoke to a Ron who informed me we needed to bring the tire in with us to receive any type of credit. I informed him I had the scrap that was left on my now damaged rim and I could bring that in as I don't play on highways and no intention of retrieving the tire from 44. Once I made it to the store I was informed that I'd only be receiving a credit of $153.00 towards a new almost $400.00 tire since they go off tread. Mind you those are supposed to have 60,000 mile warranty on them and after about 10,000 miles 50% tread is worn off. Don then mention he never recommends this brand because they do not last. 10 months ago you did recommend them!!!!! Frustrated but needing the tire I purchased, with the agreement to bring my truck back the following day to have the tire corrected and rotated to the front to not cause problems with the rear-end and differences in tread. Tuesday I dropped the truck off at 8 in the morning and picked it up on my lunch. During my lunch I spent the majority of the time either on the phone with them asking why my tire pressure sensor is no longer working or taking my truck back because they did not rotate the tires as Don recommended which Ron chose to argue about and should "probably not harm the truck, to keep the tire in place he front." With an agreement to come spend a second lunch hour with them while they fixed what they couldn't do right the first time I left again. On Wednesday I took the truck back to them to have them fix the tire pressure sensor and rotate the tires. Over an hour later I'm informed they can't figure out the problem and I should take it to Ram to diagnose because they'd feel bad charging me for a$60.00 part that probably won't fix it. They believe the wheel well was damaged and that's why the sensor isn't working.........yes the wheel well was damaged when the tire blew. So now here I sit with 3 tires at 50% tread life that I do not feel safe driving anymore that came at the recommendation of the store,1 tire that cost me another $275.00, a truck with body damage, and a sensor that isn't working correctly all due to the crap tires Point S sold me. If I had gone to Les Schwab or America's Tires they would have replaced my tire free of charge (I called and verified that) probably right the first time and most likely worked on fixing the sensor not just leaving me with the problem, and a truck with body damage. Thanks Point S I will never recommend you to people. Lesson learned stick to the people who have always treated you right, are known for customer service, and reliability. read more
