Was driving my car across the Cypress Street bridge and suddenly there was a nasty screeching sound coming from a passenger-side wheel. I thought, "Oh man, this is going to be expensive." Ir has hydraulic drum brakes all around don't just trust anyone working on it but I know they've dome many classic cars as well as other vehicles. i had friends recommend this place and went in and spoke with Jeff. Set an appointment and took it in and they had it done in a few hours. Jeff and his crew were friendly, knowledgeable, and honest! Took them in and got a quote for replacement and as I was checking the car in, Jeff said he wanted to check the rotors first. Well what do you know, I didn't need a replacement, a refinishing was sufficient but the break pads needed to be changed. I went to redding wheel and brake and had my front end completely rebuilt their estimate was half of what everyone else said it would be to do this job. After completion I needed new tires which took a couple of months to buy after buying them I decided it would be a good idea to check alignment because it was pulling a little bit when I took the truck back they immediately took my truck realigned the front end and did an inspection and found that one of the ball joints needed to be replaced and asked me to bring it back so they can fix it Taking it back with a No Charge under warranty Thank you Redding Wheel and Breaks for being honest and true. read more

What sold me on this shop was a phone call early one morning when we were due to leave town the next morning. We had a lot of scraping in the rear axle. We didn't know what it was but needed it fixed ASAP. Jeff said bring it in. The rear axle needed quite a few fixes. Knowing that we needed to leave for LA the next morning, he assured me that the guys would stay until it was finished. Around 7pm that night, he called and said it was ready and roadworthy. At least one of the workers at Redding Wheel and Brake was knowledgeable of places to take your car to in town for other services such as tires or electrical issues and that is what I've always liked about Redding Wheel and Brake. I think it was 2009 ish when I got brake work done on my 1998 Ford Ranger and the price was decent and I did like their alignment service that in my view was state of the art. If I wasn't living out of the area, I would bring my truck back through for future brake service. read more

I had been referred to another shop by my auto body repair shop. I was hesitant because I had prior excellent service and results at Redding Wheel & Brake. The new shop took a look and told me it would cost me $950 because parts were worn. That did not make sense to me, inasmuch as the previous alignment at Redding Wheel & Brake just 13,000 miles prior showed absolutely no signs of wear. Of course, I passed on the new shop and took it back to Redding Wheel & Brake, which did the alignment for $85 and advised me there were no problems with the undercarriage parts. This was a Land Rover, by the way, so it's obvious they work on just about everything except horse-drawn wagons. read more

While driving down I-5 enroute to Canada one of our wheels started to squeal. We went online and found Redding Brake & Wheel was the best rated brake shop in Redding. I'm relatively new to working with Redding W&B. But I have to say I love these guys! I bought a used van recently. All-in-all it was in good shape. But I knew there were some things I'd need to fix. When I brought the van in for alignment, Redding W&B explained they couldn't align it because many of my ball joints were bad. After letting them replace the parts and align the vehicle, I drove it for awhile. The new parts exposed another issue in my van. My steering was now odd... too much play in the steering wheel. Pretty scary at times. So after waiting a bit (thinking it might have something to do with tight ball joints settling in with driving) I brought it back to them (as they asked me to) and I explained what the driving was like. They tried one solution for the new problem and realized it was not the answer. So after more test driving and problem solving Jeff said they would absorb the cost if I'd try something else... a new steering gear box. It wasn't a cheap part, but in the end I'm soooo happy I said yes. It was the answer! My van drives like a new vehicle now! I just love their tenacity to find the solution. They're good automotive detectives. They have integrity. And they're all around nice guys. I totally recommend this shop! You won't be disappointed. :-) read more
