All I have to say is, I must have gotten PTSD from my experience with this shop "Quality Auto Repair" in the past because as I look for the best deal on tires, I happen to run across advertisement for them and decide to read their reviews and Oh my God some of them were almost exactly what I went through with them which sent shivers down my spine.... Here I thought when they packed up and left their Hartnell shop that they left town all together... Only it seems these people packed up and just moved across town to a new location for a fresh start with the same quality of service, "POOR" no pun intended... One reviewer says it was recommended by the tow truck driver to go to this shop and that's funny because that's exactly how I ended up at this shop for my awful experience and I as well had a feeling that the tow truck driver and the owner of this business were friends... This tow truck driver should be a little more careful with his referrals because his boss might not like him doing that.... I learned a lot from this experience, one of which is you don't need a certificate to open automotive repair shop unless you do break and light inspections, or smog certification... My husband and daughter went on a camping trip. Our camper van broke down and had to be towed to the nearest auto repair shop. Fortunately, it was towed to Quality Auto Repair. Why don't you replace all the parts，which way you will make more? After my analysis( majored in mechanical engineering), the bill decreased from $900 to $200. Frankie the owner worked on my 2005 BMW X5. The window regulator was having an issue and the driver window was stuck in the lowered position. I had bought the used car with a little over 120xxx mi about a month back and this happened at the worst time. Rainy season. Since it was getting cold I jumped on the quote of 560$ to replace the regulator and motor after getting the 95$/hr initial inspection fee of the problem. Beforehand they had told me that due to the age of the car or whatever. "some parts may be damaged or get cracked while getting to the problem". Ok so that's a vague all inclusive cya statement if I've ever heard one. I agree and they begin to take off the door panel. After removing taking 1.5 hrs to take off the door panel. I hear that the regulator is busted and needs replacement. It'll be 560 and they need to order the part. I need to leave so I get my ass out of their with a door panel off and short 100$. Not bad, at least now I know the issue and I can get other quotes. They didn't order the part so they just check up the next day to see if I still need the work done. Turns out according to another shop that Frankie manfredonia did more damage than I realized when removing the door panel. I come back after getting it fixed and getting charged additional by the other shop to get my door handle working and the moisture barrier repaired. They take no responsibility and say they'll get back to me after I wait for the owner to talk to me about the damage he caused. My family owns a body shop. If you don't know what your doing with a car, don't take on the job. Simple as that. I've spent a lot of money before at this shop and at least I know I won't be coming back. The shop that ended up being 105$/hr essentially quoted me less for the whole job and didn't mark up the price of the parts as much. Spend the extra $10/hr and don't go cheap with quality auto repair or at least go anywhere else. read more

5 stars isn't enough for Frankie and his shop. I was 30 miles north of Redding when my truck broke down. I sat for almost 6 hours before my car club(Good Sams) got a tow truck to me but that's another matter. I call 7 or more repair shops including the Dodge Dealership in Redding and no one would help us. Finally someone suggested Quality and I called them and Frankie said bring our truck in. We were in a huge jam and he and his crew got right on our truck. By the next day he had the problem diagnosed and repaired the following day. Unfortunately my Computer went out also so he got right on the phone and had one on the way from Florida within an hour. Frankie stayed in contact with me daily. He even sent a car to pick us up and take us to the rental car company. Even though it took a day longer to get the part which wasn't his fault he called daily with updates. He was truly upset the part didn't arrive as promised and I could hear it in is voice. Once the part got there he got right on the repairs and had us back on the road. He has even contacted us after to make sure things were right. His team made an unbearable situation a little more bearable. I would definitely recommend Frankie and his shop to all. From rohnert park on vacation towing a trailer and had a hose start leaking the plastic t hooking the hoses had a crack and was loosing coolant called 5 shops no one would help us. Extremely good service at a great price! We were on our way home from a 7 day road trip in the RV when a terrible rattling sound started just 30 miles outside of Redding. It was so bad we weren't sure we would even make it to Redding. We brought up Yelp and saw several rave reviews about Frankie's shop. Frankie met us outside the shop, took the RV for a drive immediately and diagnosed the problem right away. He even gave us options for the repair which many mechanics don't do. Fortunately he found the part needed close by so he had it delivered, installed and on the road within an hour! On top of it all, his wife was extremely friendly and accommodating with the kids and made them comfortable in her office without complaint. We could not have been more impressed! The name "QUALITY" says it all! Fantastic auto repairs. Frankie and his wife Lacie run the place and just could not be nicer people. Very fair, honest, reliable, and knowledgeable about any type of repair. Frankie is a "old school" mechanic, meaning he does not care what the book says he should charge - if it only takes 5 minutes to fix it, he is not going to charge you an hours worth of labor. Additionally, he figures things out - if there is a better, easier, cheaper way to fix something - then THAT is what he will do to save the customer additional charges or more headaches down the road. It was 123 degrees in Redding when he worked on my vehicle - I tried to give him extra money for working on it in that heat and he absolutely refused to take anymore money. i would have rather caught covid-19 then to have went to this place. ripped off doesn't even begin to explain the horror i went through at quality auto repair. long story short, $100 to just asses what was wrong. 8 hours later finally received an answer. My SUV would not start and happen to break down in front of this place. That turned out to be the best thing ever! They replaced my ignition (required a locksmith and all kinds of crap) for substantially less then I was ready to pay. Did everything they could to get me a better price and save money. Service was top notch and looks like a factory install! Took another car I own to have brakes/rotors done as another test. I don't have a good mechanic and need one I can trust without crazy prices. They were honest and said I don't need new rotors/new pads in the back. Just new pads in the front. Most mechanics seem to always say you need new rotors/new brakes and charge $$$. I pick up the car and they put on nicer rotors and not the cheap crap. Great job! 3rd time to this place - I was having a problem with my battery so I went to Les Schwab. Les Schwab said I needed to find a mechanic as there was a issue with the battery terminals/cables. Hmmm - okay, I go back here to my new friend Frankie. I drop it off. When I go to pick the car up... they tell me "no charge, it was easy". Wait what?!?!? A mechanic who is willing to not charge you? I love this place! My wife was driving south on I-5 in northern CA today when her vehicle started gaining/losing speed, and the instrument panel started going crazy. I looked on Yelp for a well-reviewed repair shop in Redding, CA and found Quality. Made a call from my office to Lacy (sp?) who could not have been more helpful and understanding. I explained that my wife was driving to LA and asked if she could go to the head of the line when she arrived. Lacy didn't argue, she just said "of course". My wife arrived, Lacy was waiting, the staff put our car on the analyzer right away and $145 later (2 speed sensors), my wife is back on the road and all is good. Great customer service from a company that I have never dealt with before and will probably never deal with again since I don't live anywhere near Redding. I could not be more pleased and I hope you think of Quality the next time you need someone to look at your vehicle. read more

Honestly they seem like good people but didn't do shit for me but still charge me after they accidentally broke the belt tensioner off the side of my block I had to tow it the rest of the way home to Seattle because they wanted to Highway Rob me on a new block that only goes for a fraction of the price+ install. They said those are Notorious for breaking off like that but how do I know if they didn't mess up and put to much pressure on it. They were willing to just push it out to the street and call it a day after there mess up that they won't own up to. They broke it and couldn't even make it right I shouldn't have even went there. And if you're reading this Frankie you can still make it right by paying for the wedding costs that I'm just now able to get around to because welding it is possible now that I've looked into it after you told me it wasn't just to get me out of there read more
