Okay I'm so late to the Red Rabbit craze, but better late than never right ‍?! I was a little weary to come here because I've heard the wait is still a barrier here and they don't take reservations. However I recently learned you can add yourself to the waitlist via Yelp app ( You go Glenn coco) and totally hack their no reservations policy day-of. So I was totally down to go now that I knew I didn't have an hour and a half in front of me. Their cocktail menu is a bit scary, I'm not one of those people who can visualize how "vermouth, jalapeño infused tequila and bitters" can actually taste like (is that an innate superpower that people are born with?) so usually I ask the waiter/waitress for their recommendation based on the type of alcohol I like(tequila or gin). She recommended what she described as their take on a boozy margarita so I was in. It was so good, not too sweet and could tell they didn't skimp on the booze. Their menu isn't extensive by any means, but it was all fairly drool worthy. We went with the spicy salami pizza with an egg on top (my boyfriend had gotten this recco from a friend) and the cavatelli pasta. They were both so good, so fresh & flavorful. The waitress also recommended both of these before hand so I was already pretty confident in our order. The final nail in the coffin for me was the price! 2 drinks, 1 pasta, 1 pizza between two people for $53!! How could you not like that?? I've always loved coming here, but the last experience was AWFUL. They have a "virtual waitlist" that you can add yourself to. But it really doesn't count for anything. The hostess had a terrible attitude and purposefully seated other people ahead of us. A group of 4 girls walked in without being on the virtual waitlist and were told 40 mins and only waited 10. Our party of two joined the virtual waitlist 1.5 hours before we were seated. If they're not going to honor their virtual waitlist then don't even give it as an option. read more

I came here for a coworker's going-to-a-new-job lunch without being sure what all I might be able to eat here since Italian food tends to be heavy on gluten. To my delight, quite a bit of the menu can easily be made gluten-free. Let me back up a little. We came here as a group of more than twelve for lunch. We got a good table, Red Rabbit is definitely good for large groups and can handle a few of them at a time in addition to the more average size groups coming to eat. Bathrooms are gendered and have stalls, so it's not optimal for trans folks, but they are handicapped accessible and it was easy for my coworker who uses a wheelchair to get around - the floor has enough space to navigate without constantly running into things. I also enjoyed the lighting design. Service can (understandably!) be tricky for a big group, but staff were on top of everything and had no issues keeping track as we had a few latecomers wandering in. Everyone got water and I think we only swiped one set of eating utensils from another table, and that was because it was just right there in arm's reach. Ordering was easy and staff were good with my questions, which were mostly "can I get this without gluten?" The food was great. I got pasta with their house-made sausage and fennel pollen, which was good in that way where you want to roll around in it and absorb it through your skin but actually not because wasting any of it would be tragic. My coworkers were similarly happy with their meals. My only sadness about the food, and this (plus the gendered bathrooms) is the reason for four stars rather than five, is that you can't get gluten-free sandwiches. This isn't the end of the world because you can get pasta and pizza and salads and most of the appetizers. Also safe for people avoiding soy and I believe corn - the pasta tastes like the rice-based stuff rather than the quinoa and corn stuff. Solid vegetarian options were available, not sure about vegan stuff. Overall a very pleasant experience and I would definitely go here again. read more

Aside from the two hour wait I really liked Red Rabbit. We put our name in through the yelp wait feature but it was still a really long wait for 6 people. They should seriously consider taking reservations to better accommodate people who make plans to dine there. Our group of 6 split every dish from the apps all the way to the dessert. Their portions are perfect for sharing and would highly recommend sharing to try more than one thing. For the apps we ordered meatballs, sausage and peppers and the pasta croquettes. I loved the creamy polenta with the sausage and peppers, really really tasty. The meatballs were delicious too, very juicy and fell apart in the red sauce..yumm!! For the entrees we ordered the shrimp garganelli per the waiter's reco, chicken parm, chopped pizza, and spicy salami pizza. The sauce on the shrimp pasta was addicting, light in texture but dominated the dish with flavor. I would highly recommend the chicken parm. The portion was massive and the breading was perfectly crispy. The spicy salami pizza was my favorite pizza. The cheese and sauce balanced the spiciness. Next time I would try something else besides the chopped salad, I think it was just too many toppings on one pizza that I would prefer in a salad. Of course we couldn't leave without getting dessert. The sticky toffee cake was another great recommendation from the waiter. I really liked red rabbit - the food, service, atmosphere, and drinks were amazing. I was lucky to stumble on this restaurant and it was open post Covid and the recent riots. Cute place which has ample seating. The bar area is charming. I sat a table for lunch within the bar and I could only imagine the energy in the evening. I was attracted only because it was advertised as pizza, pasta and oyster. I did not see oysters on the menu. I choose a cup of potato burrata soup. It was described as potato cream soup with burrata cheese. It was more of a potato puree with cheese. It was interesting but lacked any specific taste. The menu had sharables, several choices of salads, sandwiches and interesting pasta and pizza choices. Had I had entered with a hearty appetite the pasta that I intrigued me was shrimp garganelli, impossible Bolognese or the appealing Moataccioli. That was advertised having their famous marinara goat cheese fondue. I also ordered a caesar salad with a $5 add-on of shrimp. The salad was very tasty and I only wish that I would have gotten more than three shrimp for they were delicious.The dressing was very good but it tasted a little garlicky. Very nice atmosphere. Great music choice. Although I just had drinks, the food looked phenomenal. I chose two non alcoholic drinks, both of which were not to my taste. However I told the server and he comped them both. Of course, I left a generous tip for the excellent service. I'd stay away from the "spirit free menu" or at least the "honeycomb" drink(lemon and honey flavor", i also didnt like the spicy fruit drink either. My friends said the spirit free lavender beverage was amazing. I will Say about the server that he was a bit animated. And I'm sure many people out there like a jovial server. Most servers would ask a large table "so how do you all like your food?" This server had to ask us each Individually and I thought that was a bit much to be honest. My favorite North Loop date night spot. I like to come here on week nights and eat at the bar. Red Rabbit is always bustling with people which I love. If you're looking for a quiet spot - this is not the spot for you! This place is always loud but it's warm and inviting. The staff is so friendly! I have been here several times but tonight I was served by the best bartender who told us all about a vodka called Re-Find. The man who took our plates away stopped and chatted with us for a while too. I love that the staff genuinely wants to chat and talk about the food. As for the food - I LOVE the Bolognese Papardelle, the Cavatelli, and the Tortelloni. I enjoyed the Spinach Gnudi but it's really rich and think it would be better as a small appetizer. I have been to red rabbit twice now. Both times, great service and great people. I like the ambience and is def good for a friends night out, date or just want to eat some good food. Sister if red cow, this place makes good old fashioned and have good pasta. Prices are definitely steep, but it's money's worth. Will definitely go back again . Excellent restaurant. I was in town for a meeting and was searching for a good non-burger restaurant and one that wouldn't break my expense budget. I found the great reviews on this restaurant so me and a coworker went here for dinner. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and like the decor. I had the Cavatelli for dinner based off the server's recommendation (they had cacio pepe as a special which also sounded amazing). The lemon flavor on the cavatelli was subtle and not overwhelming. The homemade sausage perfectly spiced. So much else on the menu looked great too. Can't wait to go back next time I am in town. read more

Great patio, nice beer selection and the olives are worth the visit. Service was really good and sitting out on the patio was such a treat on a nice afternoon. They have some really comfortable couches but I will say for the number of tables and the size of the patio they are lacking umbrellas. Now not really a big deal since it is downtown and the sun is often behind a building but on this particular afternoon it would have given us and others more seating options. Ordered the grilled olives (I think they were grilled, warm for sure) and they were awesome. We also got the meatballs as an Appetizer and I will say I was a little less than thrilled with those. We ate brunch here recently in the outdoor patio area, which is a nice place to lounge (weather permitting). Service was stellar. Food was creative; the waffle hashbrown had a nice crispy, salty and greasy (in a good way) exterior with warm, fluffy interior. The Benedict was above average albeit short of outstanding. Was visiting my daughter and she stated how high the yelp rating was and that we should try it. We put our name on their list.... Don't take reservations! Worst set up ever. We were 9 th when we put our name on list. We headed there an hour later and found out we were 4th on list and would be about 30 minutes before we were seated. When we got our text that they were ready to seat us they stated they were just cleaning a table off. We noticed multiple groups being seated and we weren't. Questioned why and they said our name was at 49 now. Ended up waiting an extra 45 minutes to sit . I blame the system and the two women that seemed to not know how to use it. The hype is real. Was visiting from out of town on business and was craving pasta. A local friend recommended this place. Was with a colleague and it was packed. We had about a 30min wait ~6:30pm on a Wednesday evening, so went over to Cobble Social House for a quick drink. The restaurant live updates you re: your wait list spot, which is super convenient. And they graciously waited a few extra minutes when we had to close out our tab before heading over when our table was ready. The food and service were equally fab. We had a lovely server named Cullen. He was just so nice and funny. Good wine + beer list. We ordered the burrata appetizer to start (delish). I ordered the cavatelli with house made sausage for my entree. AMAZING. I'm already craving it again...two days later. Mind you, I stopped eating pork a few years ago but was craving it all of a sudden. And this stuff hit.the.spot. My colleague ordered the shrimp garganelli, which he equally loved. Veej and the wife headed to RR on a chilly Friday to meet some of her camaraderie companions. I scouted the menu for a few days and went with the Cavatelli pasta after further review. One of my buddays told me to order a Miley (meatball) on top of my pasta and it was the best decision I made that day. I washed it down with two glasses of 2014 Matchbook Cabernet. Downtown for another Lynx game and had an early dinner here. Being early it wasn't too busy but still a decent number of people at ~3:15p We started off with meatballs, our order had three. The meat was not overcooked and the sauce had a great flavor, some may think a bit of spice. Then ordered our entrees and wine flights. The wine was all pretty cold depending on your tastes, each flight had a sparkling variety in it. The chicken parmesan was moist and the breading not too thick. Do want to mention that it did not come with pasta as you might expect, the entree is two good size chicken pieces. The sauce similar to what came on the meatballs, a bit heavy on the Italian parsley. In all though a good dish. The fettuccine Alfredo with chicken came with small croutons on top which is unique. The chicken is grilled and then cut into chunks and the sauce is a decent consistency with bits of garlis and a fair amount of cheese. My daughter ate about half the order. The bolognese pappardelle was very tasty. The sauce was quite flavorful, with lots of meat and great seasoning. The pasta was cooked very well. My wife would have loved to take leftovers home, but there were none to take. The chocolate cake was a bit dark with a dense texture topped with a few amaretto cherries and a scoop of ice cream on the side. The sticky toffee cake was the highlight of the meal, moist and drenched in salted caramel sauce and SOOOO yummy. Recommend it to anyone. Other than a bit on the pricey side this is a nice place to eat at when down town. read more

I went here in a Friday night after a friend heard great reviews of this place. We put our name on the waitlist and waited over an hour. Honestly what do you expect on a Friday night? There isn't a ton of room to wait inside. My friend and I both ordered the tortellini and it was delicious. One of the best tortellini dishes I've ever had. Food and drinks were good, servers are friendly and helpful, but the wait was ridiculous. We got on the waitlist, then checked in about 20 minutes later. We were told 25 minutes by the hostess when we walked in and ended up waiting over an hour. We asked twice when our party would be seated and were then told "10 minutes" only to wait 30 more. The third time we asked, an hour later from when we arrived, we waited 10 more then were sat with little explanation. I understand it was unusually busy, but it was extremely frustrating to be told a much shorter wait time when we had to wait more than double what time we were told. I came for a late dinner last night on their patio. Their hosts were very kind and it was a short wait until we got an actual table. Though it took longer than we would have wanted, the drinks were absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend their old fashioned. Their blend of bourbon and rye, as well as their house made orange bitters made it the smoothest old fashioned I've ever had. For appetizers, we went with the burrata and wood grilled oysters. If you're an oyster lover, I might not go with the wood grilled as it kills the texture and oyster taste in general with its overload of herbs and garlic. Still fantastic, but just a heads up. We went with the bartender's recommendation on the shrimp garganelli and the chicken parmesan. As a heads up- the latter is HUGE! The appetizer chicken wings were alright but the pizza and tap beer were really good.

Really cool from the exterior, vibrant red very eye-catching. We were told there was a 45 minute wait, took a pager and I walk around the hip neighborhood. My husband and I decided to try the Red Rabbit for our 1st year wedding anniversary. We drove about a half hour to get here. I loved the place itself, the light fixtures, decor, and bar area. Great atmosphere. I will say I wish they had more choices for appetizers I was hoping they had the croquettes. We did get a pizza and pasta to share. They both were really good, but I could have went to a place closer to home that might have felt more special for our anniversary than this. I love the Red Cow and was looking forward to this place. I don't think I would go back, but it is worth trying if in the area and you want some good pizza that tastes homemade. The sausage on it was tasty, great flavor. I noticed another table had a server giving a lot of recommendations about some things that weren't even options that I wish we knew about. We visited Red Rabbit for dinner on a Friday night, and I was thoroughly impressed by the experience. We grabbed a couple of seats at the bar and had consistently amazing service. I started the evening with a perfectly poured dirty martini and continued with house reds that dazzled. We started with the house sausage pizza - the sausage of which is made in house and absolutely delectable. The sausage is actually what drove me to choose the cavatelli with sausage for my main, and it was just what I could have hoped for. The serving size was perfect, the sausage exquisite, and not nearly too greasy. My boyfriend got the spaghetti and meatballs which were also delicious, and our friend ordered the bolognese pappardelle. Everything eas amazing, and I can't wait to go back and try more things from the menu! read more
