Nolo's is another one of my North Loop favorites! I've worked my way through a few items on the menu, but I always find myself coming back to the Ahi Tuna Rice Bowl. It's consistently fresh and flavorful, though I'd personally love a bit more sauce on it -- luckily, that's an easy fix since you can always ask for extra on the side. Atmosphere is great. Lively, open, decent lighting your near the wall of windows. A little minimalist if that's your thing. Our server and service were great. I felt like they went to an extra effort to accommodate one of our group who has a severe peanut allergy. Food was meh. Pizzas were dry and kind of bland. Burgers were decent but nothing unusual (they met expectations). Fries were hot and crispy. Yay. My daughter who has high standards said the turkey Brie sandwich was "really good". Overall, it was fine but in the North Loop there's a lot of options. Some of their menu options might be a lot better and I am sure the rooftop is fun, but overall the food wasn't anything I was too impressed with. I'd try it again if others want to come here, but if that never happens, I'm fine with that too. Considering how competitive the MPLS food scene is and how expensive it is to eat out these days, NOLO needs to step it up. They're almost there. read more

What a perfect night to hit the rooftop bar at Nolo's. A great, casual spot to have a drink and a bite or just a drink before dinner. Enter the door near the side/back of the building to take the elevator up and wa-lah, enter gorgeous views of Nortb Loop. Everything is canned for drinks, no taps, etc. Servers check in on you in the event you want to order eats. After drinks went down to Nolos for dinner and snagged two spots at the bar. Had an EXCELLENT Caesar salad and the hubs had a Thai chicken pizza. Good drinks, pretty decor, good service. All around good experience. Street parking only. read more

Came for a Saturday brunch. Overall great food, lively atmosphere. Off of Washington Ave so look for street parking. I ordered the breakfast tostada that had eggs, black beans, sausage. Generous size. Others in my party got the cheeseburger and a walleye sandwich. They both liked it. Nothing remarkable but was solid. We had the whipped feta as appetizer and that was delicious. HIGHLY recommend!! We stopped here before a show at the Fillmore. The service was so friendly and helpful. We ordered a few appetizers. The whipped feta spread is a MUST. We also really enjoyed the roasted vegetables. The salmon rice bowl was enough for two and hit the spot. The beer selection was amazing. Everything inside was so bright and clean. Visited 12/28/25. I would give dinner at NOLO's like a 4 or a 4.5/5. Rounding up due to how good the service was plus how it fit a bunch of different people across our party. (My personal preference remains their breakfast fried rice-petition to make this an all day option ). We made a reservation and they weren't too busy due to bad weather, but to be safe I would recommend the res. Also give yourself time to park as well since it's north loop which tends to be a disaster to park in. Didn't get too many pictures but we ended up getting the yuca fries, tenderloin tips, and cauliflower fritters to start. Loved all of these, but the tenderloin tips did feel like a really small portion for the price point. The fritters were delightful and had my mom raving about them afterwards. For meals, I got the rigatoni bolognese, and others got the following: chicken bacon ranch pizza, cheeseburger, ahi tuna bowl, sprouts and cauliflower bowl, and the filet mignon sandwich. I liked the rigatoni and would give that like a 4/5. Regret not getting the filet sandwich also because it looked so good. The family members who got the bowls really liked them. Overall, this was our spot to celebrate a belated family Christmas and despite gross weather in Minneapolis, NOLOs did a great job at accommodating us. read more

We've owned a home in Minneapolis for a little over 4 years. We spend about 20 weeks a year up here. NOLO's has been one of our favorites restaurants that whole time. Today was a different story. We were presented with a Breakfast menu that was much shorter than our last visit. Some favorite items were eliminated. I mentioned this to our waiter. He replied that it had been this way for a long time. I told him we had been in about 2 weeks ago and it was the usual menu. He said that wasn't possible as it has been shortened in February. I checked my calendar after we ordered and mentioned that we were last there on July 6 and had the full menu. He said that the server must have given us the wrong menu but in any case, he wasn't interested in discussing it further. The attitude was strong for the rest of the meal. I understand that restaurants have a need to adjust menu items and even opening hours. I will never understand bad attitude from a server. We have probably made our last visit to NOLO's Kitchen. read more

The interior is modern, cozy and spacious. The location is great next to the north loop trial. We were here to watch Timberwolves game and staff is very friendly. We got problems on parking, and one of the waitresses was so kind and checked for a free parking spot near the building. We ordered a Margherita Pizza, and it was amazing, and it was also a big portion! Surprisingly, the pizza was better than the pizza we ate in Italy last year! This will be our number 1 place to watch games and enjoy the food and ambiance. When it gets dark, the lighting in the restaurant makes it feel cozy. I've been to Nolo's a few times now, usually for celebrations, and noted it consistently delivers quality food. The vibe is slightly upscale, but still comfortable, and the service is always friendly. Drinks here are solidly strong, which I appreciate. You're definitely getting what you pay for. Anytime we come here with a group everyone always seems to enjoy their pasta the most. Super buttery, oily, and garlicy in the best way! I've noticed the pasta options seem to rotate, so I'm not sure the one I ordered during my first visit is still on the menu. I've also tried the ravioli, which was decent, but not as flavorful as some of the other pasta dishes I've had here. A few appetizers have really surprised me, especially the whipped feta. I wasn't expecting the honey drizzle that made it that much more irresistible. The spring rolls were just okay for me. They didn't stand out as much compared to everything else. The walleye sandwich was a hit, and the Seafood Stew was incredible. It had a depth of flavor that reminded me of one of my favorite curry places in the city. The only downside is parking. It's not the easiest area to park in, and you'll probably have to walk a bit and pay, so I'd recommend carpooling or grabbing an Uber if that's an option. Overall, Nolo's is a great spot for a celebratory night out with strong drinks and consistently good food. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to. read more

We stopped into NOLO's last weekend for a late dinner per my cousin's recommendation (March Madness was in full swing everywhere else) and I was immediately taken with the interior. I loved the soft, warm lighting and it felt comfortable despite being busy. Our server was my cousin, so I might be biased but she was bubbly, welcoming, and more than accommodating. The rest of the staff took great care of us as well and we had a really fun experience! Our table ordered the kale salad, dry rub wings, avocado fries, a chicken bowl, and drinks. The drinks were well made (so tasty) and the food was even better. I had heard about NOLO's but was unfamiliar with their food game and I'm wondering how I never ended up there. The chicken bowl was reported to be so amazing that a to-go box was unnecessary, and I love a chunky French fry. No complaints from me about the wings or salad either. Consider me impressed! Great place for an early happy hour! Highly recommend. Drink prices are cheap ($6 cosmos, $5 glasses of wine) and the food is good! Nolo's turkey burger is the best in the business. It is my favorite one in the entire world! I crave it routinely every 3 months and have to visit to enjoy it again. My mom and I tried their Thai chicken pizza with our beloved turkey burger, and it was good. After getting it we understood why with the salty cheese and sweet hot honey and texture from the pistachios. We would definitely recommend it. Finally made it down for a brunch at Nolo's. I just don't get down town for food, parking, prices, etc. We got to Nolo's yesterday, early. Doll got the Avocado toast, single egg. I tried the fried rice with sausage, egg and peas, and a side of potatoes. All dishes were pretty good, no complaints. For the size of the room, it was a little loud. (It will now when I add this one haha) I got super lucky and was able to experience this place before it got so crowded that there was no seats. Just a quick elevator ride you are able to see such gorgeous views of the area. There is a nice variety of drinks and food to eat. Ultimately it is such an amazing vibe. It is a great spot to wind down after a day of work, great place to catch up with some friends, and maybe even use it as a way to enjoy before you go out for the night. This is only a rating of the food, not the service or atmosphere, since I ordered food from down in The Basement Bar, but this was so good! The yuca fries were super tasty--the chicken seasoning made the yuca itself really flavorful, and the avocado aioli was subtle and not too avocado-y or mayo-y. And, a great portion size as yuca goes! I also got the rice bowl with chicken ($22), which I liked--I very much appreciated how it was a very reasonable ratio of rice to other ingredients, as often times a restaurant rice bowl will end up being like 75% rice and 25% protein/veg, but this felt like a much better balance. Even though I thought it could've stood to be cut a little smaller, the chicken was some of the best-seasoned I've had; tastes like it was well-marinated and well-seasoned in the cooking process. The veg was pretty standard; I personally prefer a bit more flavor when it comes to veggies in a rice bowl, like some pickled variety or the like, but the portion was great. I also expected the chili crunch to be a bit spicier, but perhaps that's just my Asian palate. Overall though, tasty! I'll have to go back sometime earlier in the day, since I've heard good things about their brunch menu. read more

As far as happy hour goes, you can't go wrong with Nolo's. Their selection of happy hour drinks is excellent and they have a good amount of food options as well. I have been coming here for happy hour for awhile now and I've noticed that their happy hour food menu is different each time, so don't get your heart too stuck on one thing. The pizza tasted quite healthy with less cheeze, but the base was a bit dry. Nolos was honestly pretty disappointing. I had heard a lot of good things about this place, so I made a reservation for Sunday and went in with fairly high expectations. The hostess and our server were both very nice and seated us quickly in a good spot. The inside gives off strong brunch vibes, especially with how open and airy the space feels. Pricing was about what you would expect for the North Loop, on the higher side for what is being served. I ordered the cheeseburger and my friend got an egg sandwich. When the food came out, I was genuinely surprised by how bland my burger was. It tasted like a school cafeteria cheeseburger from middle school, which was almost funny considering how good it looked. The bun was soft and slightly sweet, everything looked great, but the burger itself had almost no flavor. It felt like the beef was either steamed or just never properly seared, which really killed it for me. The fries were just okay and a bit stiff, which some people might like, but they were not really my thing. The service and atmosphere helped soften the disappointment, but at the end of the day the food matters most. I tried a bite of my friend's egg sandwich and it was noticeably better, though still not worth the price in my opinion. It feels like you are paying more for the seating and friendly staff than the food itself. If I came back, I would definitely skip anything burger related and try something else instead. read more
