Was in the area and saw a place i had never been to, decided to drop in. Kind of tough finding parking, but that area is like that usually. I was with a friend and we sat at the bar. Definitely a beautiful space, feels like a nice date spot. Ordered a couple drinks and appetizers. Bartender and staff was super friendly and actually chatted it up with us. Everything we had was good and came out quick. Great visit and I need to go back and try some other items.

Such a cute little hidden gem! I absolutely loved the ambiance. I was surprised to see it empty but it was a weekday and in a spot that is slightly hard to find parking even on the weekdays. I ended up parking in the parking garage in a designated Waterbury Restaurant parking spot but I imagine those would get full on the weekends. I had an amazing brunch here with my friend. The service was quick and accommodating especially since I brought my 2 toddlers with me. I ordered pancakes for the kids and the steak burrito for myself. Everything was incredible. The burrito was so cheesy and delicious - I loved the flavor. The side salad was great too. We also tried some nocktails which were pretty tasty. The staff was super sweet especially with my kids. We actually arrived later than our reservation time but they were very understanding especially since the restaurant was empty. I would definitely come here again in the future. It's so beautiful and nestled right in the hotel so it has an air of quiet luxury.

The ambiance is incredible. Quiet, beautiful and a great place to take pictures. Service was attentive but because the restaurant was empty there was a delay in service. However, the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Onto the food....the beef tartare was good. The dijoinnaise was to die for. I asked at least 3 times and they refused to give me the recipe! The chips and tartar were nothing to write home about but the dijonnaise really made this dish. The cacio e Pepe was lacking flavor but with a little bit of salt it was very good. My eating partner and I also ordered the gyoza. I was skeptical at first due to the ingredients but I ended up enjoying it a lot! It tasted like ramen. My dining partner had the opposite experience where she was interested in the dish initially but after tasting it she did not enjoy it. She's also not a fan of ramen so it makes sense! Giving this place 3 stars due to the slowness of service and lack of flavor in the food. I would certainly come back to try a different meal and some of the drinks.

I can't stop thinking about the Wagyu burger. It was sensational. But first, let's talk about the space. This is a new restaurant at the intersection of Lake and Excelsior in the new Waterbury House apartment building. The space is excellent and very modern, but it is also very cozy and full of light. I came here for a lunch meeting and the host, the server, and the manager were all very welcoming. I ordered the Wagyu burger. It was just the right size, not too small that leaves you hungry and not too big that you feel gross after. The aoli was tasty and the bacon was perfectly crunchy and chewy. The fries were fantastic, but the house-made ketchup was the co-star of the show. Who makes their own ketchup? I highly recommend checking this place out. They have a happy hour and a coffee bar, too.

What a hidden gem. My husband was late in planning for Mother's Day brunch neither of us had heard of this restaurant and so thankful they had an opening. The Mother's Day menu was exceptional. I have asked that it be a yearly tradition. Started with croissants so buttery and flaky. Fruit bowl was lgenerlus and fresh. I preferred the fried chicken Benedict or the breakfast burrito. The potatoes overpowered the burrito. The side of bacon was crisp to perfection. The smoky bloody and espresso martini were great. Mimosa is such a small pour and not worth the price

We had a lovely time at the Waterbury! I highly recommend allowing the wizard Matthew full creative freedom to whip up some amazing cocktails. We had two wonderful martinis! The music and decor was stellar. Thank you Matt!

Went for brunch and had a breakfast burrito with hashed potatoes, couple coffees. Everything was great and had a lot of thought put into it, the service was great, I would drink the salsa in a pinch. Really good stuff, surprised it wasn't busier.

If you're looking for a quiet restaurant with great service and delicious craft cocktails then I highly recommend Waterbury. I highly recommend their espresso martini.

The Wagyu Burrito is spectacular! The side salad that comes with it really balances out the richness of the Wagyu. Great ambience, business casual. Matt (server) said the have live jazz Wednesday nights starting at 7p... sound fun!

We stopped in for brunch. The hours, even on the weekend, for brunch are 8-11. You could definitely tell that the restaurant was very very new. Lots of questions from the staff to the manager on the menu (which only has 6 items), questions on what glassware to use, etc. The inside is super cute and bright on the corner of Lake and Excelsior. There are a few reserved restaurant spots in the garage. We started with bloody Mary's. There were two mix choices, dill and smoky jalapeño. We ordered one of each and they were served with garnishes of a lime and an olive. The dill definitely held that taste and I thought it was great. The smoky jalapeño I'm told tasted like normal mix. There was no baby beer served with it which is something I've come to expect with a bloody in Minnesota so was a little disappointing. We both got the steak burrito which was served with a side salad and a salsa. The dressing on the salad was great! The ingredients in the burrito were also very nice but not very evenly dispersed. I love burritos though and would order it again. We split a side of potatoes which weren't needed. They were good but the burrito was full of potatoes. A few training kinks to work out but a great location and food was both reasonable and delicious.

My girl friend and I were hungry after kayaking at the lakes and decided to stop by for dinner. The interior of the restaurant was beautifully designed - modern and upscale with an intimate vibe. The service was great - our server was very attentive and professional. We ordered a chickpea falafel and wagyu tartar for starters. The chickpea falafel was perfectly fried with a soft center and garnished with an amazing red bell pepper sauce. The wagyu tartar was fresh and seasoned nicely. She got the burger and I got the pesto gnocchi. Omg! The gnocchi was to die for - soft pillows of pasta dressed with a fresh pesto sauce and topped with tons of crispy breadcrumbs. We ordered the salted caramel mousse for dessert and it was amazing perfect end to the meal. Highly recommended!

I've been here several times in the last year since it opened and it's def getting seasoned now, the ambiance has settled in. All of the food is great, [I think, I mean. I'm a veg, so I only eat that stuff, but] wow the Minnesota pot stickers are divine and the salads are great, and there is lots of meat for people who eat that and the desserts and drinks are yummy and so pretty. I can walk here so I love that I can have an elegant dinner within walking distance. All of the servers are great here; tonight I had Brittany, she was adorable and just the right amount of attentive for solo dining on Valentine's Day.

Absolutely love this place! Stumbled across it one day for brunch and have returned a handful of times since. The atmosphere is just darling and the food is always top quality. I always enjoy the lattes and my boyfriend raves about their hot chocolate. Definitely a hidden gem and a spot I recommend to others due to the close proximity to the lakes.

I love boba and a little alcy boba is so fun and unique (in the US at least). I also love that there is an option for food there as well, though I haven't actually tried any of it yet. Just nice to have food option! I went for the Valentine's specials that were donating part of profits to Immigrant Law Center of MN (woohoo go Tii Cup for doing what you can!). We came during trivia so there was a bit of a wait to be seated, but we got in after 30ish minutes. We just waited downstairs, which was nice because same building obviously. I got a cocktail that I cannot actually remember anymore (a good reminder to do reviews ASAP) :( I remember it was fruity (strawberry?), light, and yummy. My friend got the Golden Raspberry Beret which was more whiskey heavy. I liked it though, good amount of raspberry and cream and the popping strawberry boba were sooo good! The place itself is just too cute with its cozy lighting and plants! I can't wait until it's nice out again and we can sit on the balcony.

Stopped in for Valentine's Day special drinks at the bar, we came right when trivia was happening on a Sunday night so it took a while to get a table but we were able to wait downstairs and get some regular boba drinks. I got an Ube Twister with Coconut Snow and added Lychee popping boba, completely delicious. About 30-40 min later we got seated upstairs in the bar after being added to the waitlist by phone number. Super cute place, very cozy and low light. My drink was something with Japanese whiskey, raspberry, and popping boba. A bit heavy on the whiskey for my taste but my friend's fruity little cocktail was much better. Sadly we were seated after the kitchen closed so we didn't get to try any of the food, but will definitely be back!

I came here a few days ago during their "crabby hour" from 8-10 pm and we all each ordered our set of a truffle fries, a Granada slider, and a mahi mahi taco. The fries were incredible. They were super crispy, cooked perfectly and I love truffle with fries. The best part however was the aioli that came paired with it. It had a citrusy, umami flavor that was just so incredible I would have taken a whole jar home if I was able to. Absolutely perfect and can make any dish. The Granada slider was also awesome. It was bigger than I expected and included that wonderful aioli again, along with some greens, the patty, manchego cheese, and bacon. It was delicious and once again that aioli is just perfect and it was a much larger amount of food than I was expecting. I also had the mahi mahi taco as well which was good, but not my favorite. I'd probably try something instead of this again next time. Also, the staff is super funny and really awesome. We had Cassie (sorry if I got this wrong) and she was super kind, made a lot of jokes, and even gave us a tour of the theatre when we asked if we could take a peak to see what it looks like. Incredible service, we had a really great time with her. We all are definitely going to come back soon, and maybe even come for a show! But the food alone is worth a visit for sure in my opinion. I strongly recommend the Granada Slider and you have to get the truffle fries with the aioli. A side note the menu is a little confusing as they are transitioning menus so be patient as the staff have no control and the food is worth the confusion.

It had a 1920's art deco vibe which I love. We had a reservation but the host seemed to struggle to find it, almost even questioning the validity of it even though I showed her proof they texted confirmation. Thankfully they gave us a table right away anyways. The restaurant is attached to a theatre so it gets really busy prior to showtimes and the service becomes slow or non existent. At one point it even seemed that they forgot about us and the manger noticed so she made sure to get our food to us. The server later apologized and was very kind but I couldn't help but notice she took the time to chit chat with coworkers while we waited. When the theatre performance started it loudly traveled into the restaraunt through the walls. While it didn't bother me I can see how this may bother others. I'm actually glad we went because we learned about the theatre and would like to attend a show sometime. I just wouldn't recommend going to the restaraunt unless you are seeing a show there.

Wrong. Nightingale was packed, but fortunately, once two patrons saw my face from the bar, they quickly paid their bill and left. My face often compels people to vacate in Minneapolis, and we often find seats in crowded establishments. After grabbing the two seats, we ordered wine and a wonderful cocktail made with Amaro. Jules was our bartender/server, and although he was crazy busy, he found time to be gracious to us. We ordered the meatball appetizer, halibut, and the Nightingale hamburger. My halibut was sublime, cooked perfectly, and it wasn't drowned in sauce. Bravo! The meatballs were tender and delicious, but the hamburger was not memorable. It was good, not great. Despite all the accolades above, when the bill came, I was charged two dollars after requesting a cucumber slice for my Pimms Cup. Perhaps the source of this pettiness came from the kitchen, but it wasn't smart, because the $2.00 charge placed a shroud over my experience. The bill was $125, and because of the petty two buck charge, I only left a $25 tip. I was going to leave a $30 tip. I will sadly remember those 2 bucks forever. It was a myopic move and a passive aggressive way to handle my request. In my birthplace home of NYC, a bartender would have said, "Getting a cucumber slice is a pain in the rear, would you mind skipping it." My response, "Sure, it's not a big deal."

The service was genuinely friendly and pleasant throughout our visit, which went a long way. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. I tried the NY Strip special, which was fine but nothing memorable - exactly what you'd expect, no more, no less. The oysters were disappointing for the price point; the quality just wasn't there. The mushroom bruschetta similarly underwhelmed - it felt like it was missing something to make it stand out. The bright spot? The drinks were solid and well-crafted. I wanted to rate this higher based on the atmosphere and service alone, but at the end of the day, the food has to deliver. With so many great options in Minneapolis, Nightingale needs to step up its culinary game to match its lovely setting. I'd consider returning for drinks, but probably not for dinner.
