Went here for the holiday pop-up Red Nose Room and it was decked out for the holidays! Reservations booked up quickly so make them ahead of time next holiday season. The holiday pop-up was definitely worth a visit, but I don't think I would go out of my way to dine here for the normal menu. From the normal menu, the Ultimate burger was good but not outstanding. The truffle fries were crispy and the truffle flavor was not overpowering. The milkshake was creamy and not too sweet. The best bite was the house salad-- the crispy lil bacon and almond bits were a great texture contrast and the sherry vinaigrette was light. From the Red Nose Room menu, the Cranberry Spritzer mocktail was sweet and tart. I would've liked a little more dilution. The Cheese Fondue was fun for the novelty, but the flavor was a little bland and the fondue could've been more warm. read more

I coordinated a holiday lunch for my team of 13 people. I called ahead since I could only make a reservation of 6 but was informed if I made multiple reservations as long as the # was accounted for, it would be good. Thankfully there was a dedicated parking area and we were early enough that it wasn't an issue. We got there on time and they got our tables together. Immediately upon entering, it's like a Christmas snow globe and everything in-between. The decorations were great and the servers were dressed up too. Our server was welcoming and explained our options. The space wasn't too crowded on a Tuesday lunch and we ordered drinks and appetizers. It came out but we noticed it was almost an hour since we arrived and we haven't gotten a chance to order our main dishes yet. We flagged down our server and she said she would be back to assist. Unfortunately some of our team members were running short on time not anticipating the delay, so some had to order to-go. The food came out in a reasonable time after we placed our orders and everything else went smoothly thereafter. My So Cal Burger impossible patty was slightly overcooked and dry. Great burgers, with an amazing holiday display and Christmas photo-op area! A bit pricey for burgers, but I do think it's one of the best burgers I've had in a while. My friend's Double Barrel burger looked amazing, but the burger to bread ratio was a bit too high for me. I got the plain Jane Cheeseburger (4/5) and thought it was pretty good with a nice crisp on the smashed burger patty. She/they would disappear for extensive times and our entrees came out one or two minutes after our appetizer came out. The food was decent! Every time I come here I have the best experience. I usually sit at the bar and I feel lucky to have the best bartenders! They're always personable and friendly with great recommendations. The ahi crisps are my go to whenever I go but everything on the menu has been good in the past! I love that they have a variety of cocktails that are unique and not just basic drinks. It's a nice place to go for dinner but I enjoy the happy hour the most. It's usually pretty relaxed and a nice hangout spot. I appreciate that they have a parking lot so it's convenient to get there! My friend and I chose to visit the Red Cow in Uptown for their holiday Rose Nose Room pop-up bar! We arrived at about 5:30pm on a Friday and the bar was already in full swing. We had mixed feelings about the pop-up bar. The themed bar was help on their enclosed patio. It was absolutely packed, there weren't many high tops to stand at and absolutely no seating other than one table in the back, or the photo backdrop. The themed cocktail menu wasn't overly enticing with a lot of cinnamon flavored drinks, we chose to just go with wine and champagne. The wait for a 2 person table ended up being about 45 minutes which I understand for a Friday, but so early in the evening was a bit surprising. I'm quite torn about how to rate this place. A plus for the over the top holiday decorations and special menu. I loved the frozen cranberry margarita - not too sweet, which is always my concern. The SantaGria came in a charming little ornament glass, but the drink itself was so so. The smores tray was amazing - highly recommend for a large group! The biggest disappointment came from the regular menu - the tuna poke bowl. I've had it other Red Cow locations, but this one was really disappointing. The tuna was barely thawed. The chunks were all stuck together in an almost frozen hunk. Not good. Hence the lower rating. I was impressed with how well the staff handled the crowds on a crazy busy evening. I do love the Red Cow/Red Rabbit restaurants but this was not my best experience. I'd still recommend the holiday pop-up, just avoid the Tuna. read more

Got the 60/40 burger pictured on the left and the ultimate burger on the right. Both came out super juicy and medium pink like requested, wonderfully cooked. Got a side of the truffle fries, which were alright, the server noticed we didn't eat much and offered to comp them, worried we were unsatisfied. For an appetizer we got the chips and French onion dip, which exceeded my expectations for chips and dip. We came around Christmas time so the atmosphere was very festive. A friend group decided to visit for the fun red nose room at brunch. I have been to this and other locations before, this location can get busy and parking can be difficult even though they do have a dedicated lot. My wife and I really like Red Cow and usually go to the one on 50th Street simply because it is closer to where we typically stay when visiting the Twin Cities. This Christmas season, however, we chose the Hennepin location because of the Red Nose Room and the seasonal special menu. Oh, baby, that was a great choice. They were amazing and were served in very special Christmas glasses. The thing that stands out the most for me, however, was my lunch order. I couldn't really,make up my mind, but I rallied around the steak frites. When it came to the table, I knew I was in for something special. The steak and the fries were piping hot (the lack of proper temperature is one of my pet leaves in any restaurant). The steak, while looking like a single piece of sirloin, was actually already cut into relatively thin half inch strips that made the dining very simple. And, OMG, the tenderness, the juiciness, and the flavor were incredible. Add to this that the fries were perfectly cooked and salted (and served with a portion of bearnaise sauce that I used for dipping fries) and I luxuriated in the most tender and absolutely the best steak frites I have ever eaten. read more

My experiences at this Red Cow location have all been really good; the food and drinks are solid across the board, and the service has left a lasting impression. I'm a big fan of the holiday pop-up they have in December, and we had a group of 7 stop by on a Friday night without a reservation. They were honest that the wait was looking like it'd be an hour and that they were closing in about an hour but said we could check out the decor and the "ski chalet" in the patio area. We were exploring the ski chalet (which was super cute) when we got a text (like 5 minutes after we had given them our number) that our table was ready, which was a super pleasant surprise. I think they had put together two tables near the bar for us, which they didn't have to do, and our server was really great, checking in with us multiple times and splitting checks for us. We split two s'mores platters ($21 each), and I had a hot chocolate ($8). The s'mores platters were super fun; they come with mini fires; the traditional chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows; and a bunch of fun touches like strawberries, bananas, chocolate and caramel syrups, different chocolates and cookies, etc. And the two platters were plenty for 7 people. The hot chocolate (which came in a cute mug) wasn't really anything special and on the watery side. I enjoy Red Cow's burgers, and I love sitting on the patio in the summer. Visited for the red nose room holiday experience and it was such a fun vibe! No reservations so we arrived around 4 on a Saturday expecting a wait. We were told one hour and 15 min which was fine with us as we planned to spend a little time in the heated ski lodge patio area. We luckily found a standing room table and got a round of drinks that were delicious and festive. We were nearly done with our guest drinks when we got notice our table was ready after just 25 min! We got seated in a booth in the bar area, which was great for people watching and quiet enough to have easy conversation. We ordered an appetizer of the fondue, which was OK, but the cheese was much runnier than I would have liked. Our group ordered the Cubano and a few burgers. All got positive reviews. The burgers are always a smart choice at red cow. We kept the festive theme going with a few more of their drinks as well. In the dining room room when we ordered drinks, they told us that they had to take our IDs because last year they apparently lost multiple thousands of dollars of their fun drinkware during their holiday stretch. The drinks are pricy so maybe people thought the cups were included. Overall this was a really fun night out. My wife and I (in our late sixties) stopped for a warm-up before attending a local Fringe festival show. We were seated promptly in a private booth and the place had a lively, casual urban vibe. Most of the clients and servers were in their 30 somethings. They seemed like they wanted to be there and provided attentive, positive service. My house gin, dry martini straight up with 3 olives, came in a champagne and not a real martini glass and I was disappointed with the taste and the actual small volume. Though I don't think ordering a top-shelf gin would have improved it, since it was probably less than 4 oz. My wife ordered their featured drink, a mint julep, that was delicious and it came in a short highball glass with one of those giant ice cubes and nice garnishes. It was so tasty that I had to order one following my disappointing martini. My wife asked for a grilled cheese and it came with a cup of tomato bisque. I got an order of their french onion soup, against the recommendations of both the hostess and our table server. Our onion rings appetizer arrived promptly with our bar drinks. The eight large onion rings in a light beer batter, and it was great that you could actually see and taste the tender onions in them. They were more than enough for the two of us to share before our soups arrived. My "soup" was closer to pot roast gravy than it was to french onion soup. The texture was more slimy than savory. As it turns out, the employees there were honest in their warning. They really should take that off their menu. My wife's grilled cheese, while delicious, had BBQ potato chips mixed in the cheese, which she had been warned about, by the server before she ordered, but still it made for an odd texture of grilled cheese to her. To finish we shared a warm apple crisp topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This was the highlight of the food items! The apple slices still had character to them. Th crispy crunchy oatmeal crust had just the right amount of cinnamon and when you add the melted ice cream on top, it was heaven in every fork full. The bill with tip $125.
