    Whiskey list - nice
    George M.

Have only been during the Twin Cities Restaurant Week when many restaurants are offering a prix-fix tasting menu, a difficult time to review a restaurant as they may not be doing their normal thing. Miso ramen and Asian style meatballs for course one. Both were yummy but the meatballs seemed a bit too re-heated. Steak and a pork chop for entrees. The steak and especially the fingerling potatoes it came with was delicious. The pork chop had nice flavor but was super lean and dry and the accompanying fried rice was a little mushy. Dessert was a nice finish. I wasn't drinking tonight but liked their whiskey selection. Looking forward to going back and trying their normal menu.

Super fast service, everything came out pretty quick. Beautiful presentation on the dishes. For taste; the side dishes were the star. Potatoes were crispy and seasoned well. The butternut squash puree was thick and velvety. I'd skip the dessert. The sugar top on the creama catalana was slightly crunchy but did not crack on the back of the spoon. The creama was almost a split texture and loose.

Overall Lake and Irving is just okay. I was severely disappointed by the lack of flavor on my chicken sandwich, no salt, no pepper, unfortunately it tasted like nothing. I ate half and took the rest home. I ended up adding an egg to it and that made it better. Service is good, this is your typical neighborhood bar. You could certainly be a local here. All in all the food wasn't great so I probably wouldn't come back to eat but they do trivia and if definitely return for that!

I wish I had known about this place sooner. I had an all around amazing dinner here. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, truffle fries, and Gochujang chicken wings for an appetizer. All were delicious. I ordered the Luxe burger with corn chowder for my entree. The corn chowder was great and the burger was easily one of the best in the twin cities. We ended the meal with a delicious chocolate tres leches dessert. I can't wait to go back!

Shout out to Gerald he was a great server he took great care of us when we visited. The chicken sandwich was delicious I got the ghost cheese so it had a wonderful kick of spice. I'd skip the side salad next time. Truffle fries were good. Perfectly crispy and hot. I also really enjoyed the charred green beans. My husband said his Luxe burger was cooked well and very juicy. The jungle bird was delicious, I'd definitely get it again. This spot is pretty solid with the food, the service and the music!

My husband and I went here for dinner on a Saturday with a reservation at 7 PM. The place was busy upon our arrival, but we were seated within 5-10 minutes. The hosts were welcoming and professional, and I liked the ongoing explanation. Once we were seated, a staff came by with water. Our waiter stopped by and took our drink order. The wait staff seems knowledgeable about bourbons. My favorite part was the food! It was delicious! I love the complimentary corn nuts. The appetizers were fresh and flavorful. My husband said it was the best mole he had ever had. (He lived in New Mexico for a bit). The hanger steak dish was delicious. I love the black beans as it was prepared well. Finally the dessert was amazing! The whip on the tres leches look homemade. I love that the churro was chocolate filled. We will be back.

Finally got around to trying this spot. The food was good, i ordered the lux burger. Mainly just cheese & patty on a brioche bun. While I didn't eat the sweet pickles that came on the side, I did enjoy the variety of aioli. The garlic one was my really good! I also ordered a cosmo which was nice. It was a bit on the pricer end. The service was great and the ambiance was okay.

Excellent service that came with great recommendations from our server. I had probably the best salmon I've had in years on a bed of wild rice. My drink was also extremely excellent and unique. Nice dinner ambiance.

Nice place with friendly service. The food was good, nice options, something for everyone. Very nicely decorated, very comfortable space. Parking is an adventure, but welcome to lake street! Highly recommend...

We dined here on a Sunday night with early dinner reservations and it was not too crowded (definitely could have walked in). We were seated at a lovely table near the windows. There were a few highlights of the evening. The first was our server, Matt. He was the perfect mix of attentive but did not crowd us or rush us - and he knows everything about the food and wine. The other highlight is definitely how pleasantly surprised we were with the quality and taste of all of our food. Standouts included the hanger steak, prepared to order, presented sliced and served with these amazing potatoes called hurricane potatoes. They are thick cut like a steak fry but shaped like a giant curly fry with the perfect amount of seasoning outside and warm, fluffy potato inside. The salmon dish also was outstanding. Fish is prepared medium, which is quite rare and pink in the middle. It absolutely melted in my mouth, and I was equally impressed with the bed of wild rice, rich with flavors and textures, even including tiny bites of sous vide egg white - just wow! They don't mess around here, it's great food. We finished with desserts. The table favorite turned out to be the cheesecake, which I think was due to the wonderful espresso and caramel sauces on the top. I enjoyed the Tres Leche but some bites were overly sugary and I wish I had been there to try the coconut flavor a few weeks ago. I'd definitely suggest you try at least one dessert so you can linger a bit longer after dinner and enjoy this place.

If I could, I'd give Lake and Irving a 4.5. The ambiance and service were a 5, but the price of food seemed a bit steep to me! We had the special - hamachi fish with purple potatoes: the miso sauce was the star of the show but I felt that the fish was a bit small for $30+. Plating could also use a bit of work! Also had the chicken sandwich since it looked like the thing to get! Chicken was huge but could have used a lil more time in the fryer as the breading was a bit soggy. The bread was our favorite part. Tempura mushrooms were not very flavorful and was mostly breading - did not finish these as we weren't fans! Drinks were delicious though - would come back just to sit at the bar and have a few cocktails! Parking lot available behind the building and this is close to the lake so would be a great lil date night in the summer.

Ordered a selection of food on our evening dinner and we were disappointed in the food that was served. Staff were friendly and they had a nice outdoor and indoor dining area. The best dishes that stood out the most was the loco moco, coconut tres leche, and seared ahi salad. The use of the curry sauce instead of the gravy for the loco moco was very interesting and paired perfectly. The coconut tres leche was very moist and the dried coconut weren't too crunchy. The seared ahi salad just taste refreshing and guilt-free. Would highly recommend a visit.

Luxe burger: this is the finest, most exquisite burger experience of my life. If this is the last burger I ever eat, I won't be disappointed. All other burgers will exist in the shadow of the Luxe Burger

Both of these were hits and were a good amount of food too. My mom got the same sandwich with the chicken wild rice soup which wasn't as much of a hit as the tomato but was still decent and then my sister got a veg sandwich with the tomato soup. Service was friendly but limited. DRINKS They had a nice cocktail menu, but I opted for an Aperol Spritz. My husband chose off their limited NA menu a lavender honey lemonade, and it was a bit too sweet for him. I'd love to see some mocktail options here! FOOD We just got a few shareables since we were heading to dinner after, but their sandwiches were making my husband's mouth water! We got: Pickle Brined Wings - amazing flavor, salty and dilly, but I would have liked quite a bit more char on them: they were pretty pale. Minnesota Sushi - my husband loved this! Served with Ritz crackers, and it's the perfect little shareable dip.

Additionally, we had to wait For our reservation. Our server did not bring us water for a very long time, even after stopping by our table and saying she would bring water. We ended up ordering our food along with drinks right away, given the lack of structure. Our server seemed surprised and almost annoyed at this. Outside of that she was friendly. Overall the food was ok- nothing super special. I enjoyed the ambiance and low lighting vibes. It is a smaller place but still a good amount of tables. They have a parking lot attached with a lot of space but also ample street parking. I would go back to check out the patio and maybe a happy hour in the summer but 3 stars because service & timeliness was way off. Hoping it was just a bad night & not the norm for an Edina spot.
