This is your typical business-district American restaurant. Pretty ambiance, adequate food, overpriced. Really not much else to say.

I dined with a colleague after attending a full conference day of keynotes and breakout sessions. Noa Minneapolis is accessible through the Skyway System. It was very easy to get to the restaurant from the Royal, the hotel where we were staying. I had the cauliflower steak for dinner at Noa Minneapolis. It was ok. I should have ordered something else. Maybe the Noa Burger.

Noa which is located on the first floor of the IDS center downtown Minneapolis is a great spot to have lunch or have after work drinks. Every time we have been here the service has been excellent and they go out of their way to please. The food is mostly classic American food. We had a salad and a burger with or drinks. There is seating inside the restaurant but there is also seating out into the common area of the IDS building which is what I prefer.

I ate here for a team dinner following a long conference day and the waitstaff, Nicole, was absolutely amazing. Everyone's food looked delicious (especially the chicken pot pie) and everyone seemed happy. The lemon lavender spritz was bubbly, bright, and tasty. The miso butter noodles with shrimp was rich and luxurious. The first bite had a minor spicy kick; the flavor was great. The espresso with the affogato was a little bitter for my taste, but the ice cream was creamy and had a wonderful vanilla flavor. The ambiance was great and we had a wonderful time. I would definitely return as a "treat yourself" date.

This was a great escape from the frigid weather. The environment is welcoming and so are the people. I was seated immediately, and the server took my drink and appetizer order right away. I got the wings and Noa burger. The portion sizes were generous and I finished all of it. The burger was tasty and juicy, the wings were perfect and the fries were crispy. Next time I am in town I will definitely make another stop here.

Dined here with some friends. We had a reservation but it wasn't too busy on a Thursday night right after happy hour. We stood at the podium for several minutes with no greeting or acknowledgment. We began to seat ourselves when someone finally walked out and asked if we've been helped. The restaurant is beautiful, very classy and clean. The menu has decent offerings. I went with the house made veggie burger which came with fries. We also ordered Hummus and tempura vegetables. The burger and hummus were good. The Vegetables were just okay. I also ordered a lemon drop martini and it was good as well. Our waiter was nice and attentive. The happy hour menu looked good, so I'd for sure come back to check it out sometime.

Happy hour wagu burger, 2 wings and panzanella salad

Stopped by for dinner on a Weds. they have happy hour specials on food and drinks 2pm-6pm. Bar was packed and quite a few groups. I was seated quickly and server came soon after, brought water and I ordered a mocktail gimlet. It was good, lime and mint and perfect for a warmer day. Decided to try 2 wings and wagu burger specials from happy hour menu plus panzanella salad. Food came out real quickly. Burger is a deal for happy hour at half the usual price - was fresh and had a tasty sesame bun, pickles and sauce. Wings are generously dry rubbed and crispy, if a bit too salty for me. Messy too, as wings are, so wouldn't order that on a date or eating with colleagues. They let me try both ranch and blue cheese sauce for the wings. Ranch seemed generic and not exciting, I preferred the blue cheese - in fact I put some in my burger for an on the fly blue cheese burger. Salad listed heirloom tomatoes but they were cherry tomatoes that may have been heirloom but not the chunks of bigger tomato I expected. No greens in a panzanella just tomatoes, small mozzarella balls, bread, onions all covered in a pesto sauce - the preserved lemon was a nice fresh touch, I wish it was more accented with some fresh lemon as it was way in the background. The servers are nice and professional and friendly - they deserve generous tips - the ones I saw really worked hard. Interior is darkish but pleasant. They have a nice table for 12 if you want to bring a group, plus booths and other tables. Look is mostly beige and grey and walnut. Went crazy and had the chocolate cake with candied hazelnuts and ice cream for dessert. Amazing. Also loved they had oat milk as an option as I had a cappuccino to top off a good meal.

I have a habit of ordering a salad to justify a dessert. That was definitely the case here because the chocolate cake looked amazing and I wanted it. The salad was very good and fresh tasting. The cake was so worth it. Moist and decadent and not too sweet and very chocolaty. It was goodness at every bite. I'm happy that I ordered both items. This was a great experience. The space was nice and comfortable. The service was good. Casual. Please come and create your own adventure.

We came here for NYE and to celebrate my birthday and it a lovely evening. It was our first time at NOA and our server gave exceptional service. She was patient, kind, and took a very nice photo of us. The highlights were the lobster bisque, filet, and coq au vin. My dessert, the chocolate cake, even came with a candle which was cute. We can't wait to be back!

I ordered the oxtail quesadilla, dry rub wings and iced tea for lunch and it was all so delicious. The meal was all tender and everything had so much flavor. Service was impeccable and things came out pretty quickly. The place is cute and well kept too.

Grabbed a quick lunch here yesterday and sat at the bar. The bartender was really friendly and gave just the right about of check ins. I ordered the house salad because it was not your typical salad. It had fennel, cashews, and dried cranberries with mixed greens and an Apple vinaigrette. It was really tasty! Just had a bit too many of the dried cranberries. I would definitely go back for lunch or dinner as it was also well-appointed and had a nice atmosphere.

Decent selection of food options; vegan & GF options are clearly identified. In restaurant there are booths & tables in addition to the bar area. Nice outside area that's a bright, open area. Attentive service. Sort of pricey for lunch but convenient to many hotels in the Nicolette Mall areas.

    Salmon. Amazing.

Did not expect this to be as good as it was. First, Alicia was an amazing server and made excellent recommendations. We started with burrata which was great, flavorful and textures were spot on. Didn't get a pic of that, ate it too fast. I appreciate the asparagus and truffle too. Great bite. I got the salmon for lunch and it was one of the best salmon dishes I've ever had. The sweet potatoes, Brussel sprouts and sauce made it such and incredible flavor. Texture on the salmon was perfect. Perfect on the salt level too. This place can cater to any party too. Great private rooms, was good for a work meeting (why I was here) but I could see it for a date night as well. It's modern, cozy, well decorated and very clean. Lots of natural light, quiet music and not too loud. Would come back. We did walk from our hotel, so I can't comment on the parking. Highly recommend you try it and order something outside your comfort zone. Favors were great.

Relatively easy to find, though you do have to hunt a little bit, Flora Room sits behind a nondescript metal door leading down a short hallway to the entrance. Take a long moment to allow your eyes to adjust if you're coming before sunset; this space is DARK. It's also perfect. Once your "night vision" kicks in you're surrounded by a nice bar, numerous bistro-style tables and booths. Candles adorn the tables creating a nice, cozy place to settle in for drinks. Once seated in comfortable chairs at a table, we were quickly greeted and provided with menus. The cocktail selection is relatively "small" but really nicely varied. Prices seemed a tad steep but frankly, given the quality of the drinks I'd say quite worth it. I started out with the Evita, a nice flavorful gin-base cocktail topped with a nice egg white foam. Very tasty. My wife opted for the Tapaculo, with gin, mezcal, pineapple, banana and bitters over ice. Also quite good. There are also bites available from the associated restaurant I can't recall the name of mine but I can say it was delicious. Bread-like bites with a really tasty dipping sauce. To close out the visit I selected Palo, a smoked aged rum cocktail that was really nice and rich. My wife chose the Nahualito with rum, walnut, amontillado and white chocolate. All should be on your radar. Flora Room really fit the bill for a nice, intimate speakeasy-style spot to spend time. Dark and cozy. Savory cocktails and friendly service will stand out and make you want to return. I know we'll seek it out if we return to Minneapolis again. I hope so.

Wow, this place was cool!…read more The entry is pretty hidden and parking requires a bit of work unless you do valet. We went on a Saturday night, so we had to wait a bit in order to be seated. However, it was worth the wait for us. There is a dark moody vibe and while my group went in for drinks, there are also options for food. The place itself is pretty loud - both with music and talking, so maybe not the best location for a first date. The drinks are expensive, but the experience was worthwhile for us. I enjoyed the meditteránea. I'll very likely be back! What a neat spot.

One of my friends went with the ranch fries which were good, but in my opinion it was not worth the $2 upcharge for the amount of seasoning that comes on them. I would recommend sticking with the regular fries and ordering a side of ranch as a dipping sauce instead! This is the only place that I'm aware of where you can get a vegan juicy lucy! It is very cheesy, and it's fun that there's a meatless version of a MN classic! It was messy to eat though so make sure to have a napkin nearby! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and would go back! Upon entering we were greeted by a woman who was clearly wearing multiple hats as she seemed rushed, a bit off putting and quite frankly distracted. It was Juneteenth the middle of the afternoon and there were maybe 6 people at the bar and one other table besides ours with 2 diners. The person seating us was also our server and the bartender. Menu is small but the items we ordered were all fabulous! Every single one! The collard green dip with cornbread pita chips was absolutely delicious - Think spinach artichoke dip but soul food! The salmon croquettes with lemon herb aioli and arugula salad that accompanied were fresh and light! The catfish sandwich with fries was hot, crispy and well seasoned with fresh lettuce and tomato on a perfectly tender brioche bun. I want to return so bad for the food but it was clear this host, server, bartender and partial cook was pulled in too many directions and that severely compromised our service and gave us stand off energy as first time patrons. I looked it up and she is actually one of the owners. She came across as irritated especially once we didn't order any alcoholic drinks first and then very short and curt following. What took the cake was her telling us she was leaving for the day and needed to close our tab while we were eating. Didn't ask did we want to order anything else and there was another server taking her place and an empty restaurant! My partner had to put his sandwich down wipe his hands pull out his wallet while she stood there impatiently. Then proceeded to linger around hugging her regular bar patrons. It was clear this is a "regulars" spot and if you're not one you're rolling the dice on the service you may or may not get. We were patient and didn't complain because it was Juneteenth and our intention to support black restaurants all weekend. I have many previous years in the industry as a cook, host and GM and I was stunned to know that she was one of the owners when I looked it up. Had planned to return for live music but unfortunately the off putting energy and unwelcoming vibe may have squashed that possibility. I hope they improve service because the food is delicious and deserves attention from a larger and more sophisticated audience.
