Wow the cocktails here were incredible! It's such a cute, small hidden place but they offer super unique and delicious craft cocktails at the same price of basic bar cocktails many other places! They use unique spirits and combine flavor profiles creatively to make cocktails that are different than anything I've tried before. It's hard to tell what the drinks may taste like based off of the ingredients but don't be afraid to ask the friendly bartenders. They have a parking lot in the back, a patio attached, and you order at the bar. They change their menu a decent amount so I won't harp on about the cocktails we tried, but I will say they were all well garnished and delicious. I hope to be back here soon! read more

I went to Meteor for their Halloween pop-up and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was so fun and creative, and every drink was amazing. Service was fast and efficient, which made the experience even better. I really appreciated how they had specialty cups for each themed drink such a cool touch! Went for the first time for their Halloween popup and it didn't disappoint. The vibe was really chill and the bartenders were awesome. We ended up chatting with them for a long time while watching 80s horror movies. The drinks were fantastic; not overly sweet at all with interesting bitters and syrups to make each unique. Really well made. We also had to grab a Meteor Dog off the roller because of course. It was exactly what you expect (and want) from a roller dog in a divey bar. I'd love to come back and check out their next menu rotation given the string of holidays over the coming months. read more

This is one of my go to "treat yourself and clean out emails with cocktails" bars. Dive ambiance, fancy drinks. I've never had the hot dogs, I get a drink or two, have some chips, and enjoy a cocktail that's a reasonably priced as you'll get for this quality (which is still $14 each, but that's at least not $19). Bartenders are generally good about answering Qs and explaining the fun ingredients. It's just generally an awesome bar. If you take a date here and they like it, keep them. read more

A Spook-tacular experience!! My friend and I were looking for fun Halloween events to attend this October and the Meteor's Black Lagoon Halloween pop-up bar immediately grabbed our attention. The pop up bar consisted of specialty cocktails, spooky decor, and on Thursdays a Boo-lesque show! When we arrived the bar was quite busy but we were lucky enough to snag some bar setting from some nice men who were on their way out. The decor was great, very haunting but nothing too over the top. The bar is small but I believe they managed the space well. Their specialty cocktail list was just right, offer an option or two with each liquor. Pricing was a little bit steep for a dive bar at $16 a drink but I guess they can charge what they want for a pop-up and people will still come! The cocktails were very tasty and well balanced. We did in-fact come on a Thursday for the Boo-lesque show which was very entertaining! All of the performers dressed in costume and danced to music. They were so fun and hilarious to interact with. Overall we had a really good time and would consider coming again in the future! read more

Meteor is the place you want to go for an elevated bar experience without it feeling pretentious. I'm not a huge person for the big city bar scene so it's nice that Meteor is located in an unassuming little building out of the crowds and chaos of Downtown or Uptown Minneapolis. Even when it's busy at Meteor it's not uncomfortable or crazy loud. Atmosphere aside, the drinks are amazing. The menus are always so creative and read more like something you'd find at a craft distillery rather than a bar. Meteor uses pretty much any spirit you can think of, including some of the less common ones like mezcal and aquavit, to create unique flavors you're not going to find anywhere else. DELICIOUS! A friend and I went, we tried the Secret Tiger, Xochitl, Raicilla Later, and Cavillo. Everything was delicious and refreshing, and the bartenders were all super fun and incredibly informational about the drinks we had. The music was a little loud for my usual taste but I didn't mind it all that much! The space itself carries sound really strongly, so I think that had more to do with it than the music necessarily being too loud. Dive bar vibes with delicious cocktails! The space is small and retro with 80's memorabilia (including a pinball machine) dispersed throughout. You can sit at the bar or booth, and select your drink from a list of rotating cocktails, with low ABV and mocktails also available. Foodwise, they have "elevated" hot dogs if you are willing to spend $6 or $7, but they're pretty good. The staff is also super friendly- you'll just need to order at the bar and bring back to your table. There's lot parking nearby or you can park on the street. It can get busy on the weekend but it's a nice quiet weekday spot! read more

Meteor is the perfect dive bar ambiance with super tasty cocktails. Their beer & a bump (boiler) offerings are also really interesting (& a good deal). Although there are tables, you order at the bar & pick up your drinks/food once they're ready. The bartenders were super helpful & attentive, even once the bar got busy for the night. I didn't realize Meteor had vegetarian/vegan options for their hotdogs, so that was a fun surprise! I had: --Meteor Dog (with a Herbivorous Butcher hotdog): Kimchi mayo, crispy onions, green onions; I now believe that every hotdog should have crispy onions. The crunch is a game changer, not to mention the flavors were all so, so good. I don't like kimchi so I was a bit worried about the mayo, but it was just a bit spicy without any of the kimchi funky flavor. --Syncing Ships: This was really well balanced; I was expecting the dill flavor to come through more, but I'm glad it didn't as it would've overwhelmed the drink. --Dirty Mind: A bit less coffee flavor than I was expecting, but I was also just in the mood for a cold brew at that point lol. I'd give this one a 4/5, it was kind of like a less-strong espresso martini with more complex flavor. --Juice Box (boiler): I had never heard of Pasubio before but LOVED it. The cider was fine, light & refreshing without making my teeth feel fuzzy. My friends also ordered Spaghets & the bartenders were happy to make those as well, apparently they used to be on the menu. The prices for cocktails felt a bit pricey especially since my drink (Secret Tiger) didn't have a rim on it (description said salt & lime chili). As a new comer to Minneapolis (4 month old), I was looking for a cool bar to enjoy myself or hang out with friends. Meteor has been mentioned a few times by people in different walks on different occasions. I thought it would be worth trying. It was a Thursday evening. The bar was almost full regardless the location is not like downtown downtown, but super easy for parking and very cool industrial area. I like it! I was here mainly for Mezcal, a passion I developed since I moved here. They have a very wide range of selection. All three that were recommended to me are awesome. My favorite is the Aquilino Garcia, a very rare one, kind of a vegan Pechuga. I usually don't eat bar food, but I ended up believe having two hotdog's and they both were delicious. Meteor hotdog and Musubio hotdog. Try them, the toppings and sauce did make differences. Might be my favorite hotdog so far. I also got a special cocktail made with Mezcal. The jalapeño in it has a spicy kick, which really distinguish itself from other Mezcal based cocktails I tried before. Sour, sweet and spicy. More to dig in the cocktails here. First impression was fantastic as the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely come back for more. read more

This bar is my favorite in all of Minnesota. BY FAR. The drinks, phenomenal. The hot dogs? I could eat 20. I love this place and I recommend it to everyone I know. I love the vibes and the staff is so friendly! I always feel welcome and don't feel like they're annoyed to be doing their jobs or dealing with me like some bars. It makes me so comfy! I love their shots of the moment and all the ones I've had (even the ones that contain liquors I don't like drinking) have been super yummy. Always check their little board for their special drinks because that's usually where my absolute favorite drinks are at. I LOVE that they change the theme of their menu every couple of months. The first time I visited it was like old school arcade themed, the second time it was like Miami Vice, we went to the Black Lagoon pop up and then finally we went to the Wet Hot American Summer theme! They change their menus and their drinks! All the drinks are gorgeous and unique and I've never had one I disliked. Please get the meteor dog. Also check out their drag show! It was so fun! This place is a 10 out of 10. The cocktails are so fun with quirky names, and the hot dogs and the food from the food truck was phenomenal. I tried the secret tiger tequila based drink and the mega buster. And my friend tried the gin birdie drink and the olive cocktail. I also tried the kombucha they had. The spot itself is in an industrial part of Minneapolis and there's plenty of street parking and it's easy to get to. The inside is a little smaller, but there's plenty of room and it has a nice neighborhood vibe. The staff are pretty friendly, and very on top of your needs. I also walked away with a fun T-shirt. A couple bars have been in the Meteor space in the last few years, including a super kitschy zombie den, but I'm glad to see them go back to the basics with "good ass drinks" from skilled industry folk. It's still a dark, kinda narrow bar, which is intimate. Their expertly crafted cocktails are $12, and Boilers (beer and a bump) are $9. We loved their Secret Tiger cocktail (mezcal, tequila, passionfruit, lime, chili salt) and Jumble Birb (Jamaican rum, old tom, cappelletti, pineapple, lime). I liked the Secret Tiger a little more with the balance of smokey, sweet, and sour. Their combos for the Boilers are really cool too, and usually introduce us to totally new spirits. As for food, they have packaged snacks, fresh waffles, and local Mucci's pizza. If you get a pizza "Meteor Style" (+$3), they add a yolky egg, banana peppers, and balsamic drizzle.
