Working through breweries on the Pub Pass, we decided to stop in to Broken Clock. The space is huge, so you shouldn't have to worry about seating. It actually looks like an old elementary school building. Food is available next door and seems to have a rotating food truck, but the brewery itself doesn't appear to have food directly. Lots of brews to choose from and has coffee in the morning. I tried a mango wheat and hubs had a milk and cookies stout. I would have liked mine a bit better if it was toned back on the hoppy flavor, but it was still decent. This place is VERY kid/family-friendly. Not that that's a bad thing, just more for awareness that kids are readily running around, in case that does have an impact on your choice to go one way or another. read more

It was a great space to hang out! There was a lot of varieties of seating, arcade games and a laid back atmosphere. The service was friendly and approachable. There's a huge variety of beer, n/a and other options for everyone in your group. The only complaint was that the room was a little cold when we were there and it would have been more comfortable slightly warmer. read more

I love this place for dual and different purposes. It's a cafe, Curioso, and brewery, Broken Clock, all in one. Plus, there's a wine bar in the adjacent store. It's a big space for working remotely with lots of different tables and comfy nooks. Coffee was good enough and there are snacks, not meals, though they typically have a food truck parked out back. You could seamlessly transition from working remotely til 4 or 5pm to hanging out for a beer with a friend after. I've done both. I enjoyed the gingerbread latte while working and a friend met me after. I came another time after work when I enjoyed the salted caramel stout - highly recommend, esp if you find IPAs to be bitter as I do. It was good! Noticed they sell thc gummies and beverages and beer to go, plus lots of their own merch. There's 2 pool tables, pin ball machines, foosball, board games, and other games to play. They activate event nights often, like trivia, yoga, networking, etc., and even pet adoption events. It's very dog friendly, so expect to be among them. It's also family friendly and I noticed couples with their small kids, parents and grandparents, etc. Staff are friendly. Self ordering at the counter. read more

First, I have to say that I've been to a lot of breweries in Minneapolis. Like, a LOT. This is by far my favorite, and I come here as often as I can (basically whenever the weather is good enough to bike there). It's right on the river and has a wonderful patio. The interior is huge, with a coffee shop (which makes it great if you want to chill there in the mornings), an on-site kitchen, and lots of tables for those who like to play board games. The people that work there always seem to be in a good mood. The beer selection is amazing, and I love that this is a community owned brewery and that the members help choose the beer! read more

Discovered this spot after walking over to Aki's for some bread--turns out the buildings are connected, so you really get the best of both worlds. The brewery features a large, open space with plenty of pinball machines and two pool tables, making it a great place to unwind. They also have some fun merchandise if you're in the mood to take something home. The service was friendly, and we really enjoyed our brews. I was especially happy to see they offer non-alcoholic options--I tried the NA Pilsner and was pleasantly surprised. A fun, laid-back spot to relax after the work week. read more

A sweet spot to hang out, drink, grab a coffee, play pinball, or even go next door and grab some pastries from Aki's. To top all of these they host live music events outdoors with seating to experience the local music scene while sipping on drinks. Definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood and one to check out if you're wanting to do something but avoid the crowds. read more

Pretty cool chill spot Maybe one star generous Extras for bump up Broken Clock opened in their current location a year or two ago now. The new taproom is large and in charge with a great location on the River. There is a big outdoor patio for imbibing on during the nicer months. Inside there is a ton of seating, a bunch of pinball machines (which they keep at a quiet level), Big Buck Hunter, two dart boards and two pool tables. Unidos Food Company is on site seven days a week serving up tacos, tamales and the like. Had the Thanksgiving Tamales with Turkey and Cranberries tonight. Pretty good. They also just got an Untappd Local Badge which pulled me back tonight. They rotate a fair amount on the beer here and it's not bad, but I've never had one that's really knocked my socks off. Will continue to try them periodically to see if I can find one. read more

I've had their beer a few times picked up at a liquor store but tonight was my first time at the taproom. It is a great space. As a toddler dad who likes beer I really appreciated the spaces set up with room for active kids and a ton of kid focused toys. While I haven't been terribly impressed with their ipas I really like their dark special release flight. If I lived closer I would have to go more frequently. read more

I recently visited with a friend because the fiber arts and crafts event was here! Parking: a modest lot behind the brewery but it does fill up fast. There is residential street parking across the street. Food: fun "Midwest-Tex" offerings, as well as snacks like those giant t-Rex cookies and pretzels from local vendors Bevvies: I don't actually drink but their local MN soda selection is excellent Space: very spacious, lots of seating, beautiful mid century modern furniture and aesthetic. Tons of shelves with board games, arcade games in the corner so as to not be too disruptive, tables to gather at. read more

Finally made it out to Broken Clock's new(er) location. The beer options were great, they have a wide range to appeal to everyone. I tried the sour and also had the Brewski Joe! Both had good flavor and were fairly priced. To order you go to the bar and to my hand it over to you, very straight forward! Inside they also serve food described as "Midwest-Mex" and have Curioso Coffee Bar. So there are a lot of options. They also host TriviaMafia on Tuesday nights at 6:30. There is ample free street parking. Well behaved, leashed dogs are allowed inside. read more

great chill spot to go have a few beers and play some ping ball. Not expensive, chill atmosphere and good service. It's a NE staple.

Such a cool place! They have coffee, food, games, cool river views and of course great beer and slushies! I got a strawberry sour and my boyfriend got a blue slushie. Second time visiting this brewery, but didn't get much of a stay the first time. Tuesday evening near closing time, only a few people inside but they were still serving drinks. Decided to try the Century Club IPA ($7) - a Belgian ale with multiple hops and a fruity finish. Not bad to sip on while walking around the taproom. It looks like they have games setup around, as well as comfortable seating towards the back. As they were closing up, took a crowler of the Spruce Juice ($10) back with me. Beer is a hoppy ESB that's surprisingly not that bitter. Overall good basic taproom and some drinkable beers. Worthwhile stopover if near the waterfront. read more

Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative - Inside - Breweries Near Me - Minneapolis, Minnesota

Broken Clock Brewing popped up on my radar after hearing from some folks who had invested in the coop. They are a brew cooperative and completely member-owned / operated by local Minnesota residents. They have a mission to, in their words, "make a difference by empowering people, inspiring passion, and fostering collaboration in our community" and "put the needs of the community ahead of the bottom line". This can be seen through their local collaborations and the work they do in the community. Beyond being in awe of the beautiful space (and the pinball machines!) I had to try some of the beers as well. Willie's Wee Heavy: A Wee Heavy aged in Heaven Hill Whiskey Barrels. It has a huge malt aroma of caramel, light toffee, and brown sugar. Very mild earthy hops. Even in the heat, this big and bold beer went down smoothly. Rum Punch: An Imperial Blond Ale aged in Rum Barrels with Pineapple and Grenadine. Very reminiscent of a rum punch. Slight molasses / vanilla / spicy flavors from the rum barrel interplay with the juicy tropical notes of pineapple and the juicy / tart grenadine. A very refreshing beer that does not taste like its ABV. Cerveza De La Revolucion: An Imperial Gose inspired by a Margarita through aging in Tequila barrels and additions of lime, coriander, and sea salt. It was created in celebration of the Mexican Army's victory over the French on May 5th, 1862 at the Battle of Puebla. They nailed this beer - pair with some tacos and you have a match made in heaven. Minute Man: A Hazy IPA with citrus and tropical fruit hops. Full bodied with high juicy orange, mango, and papaya aromas and flavors. No harshness or astringency with only a medium-low bitterness. This beer was recommended by a fellow patron and glad he did! read more

I had visited the old location once before so I thought I'd check out this new one this weekend. It is located right on the Mississippi River which is great, but I think it definitely needs a little bit of work on the outside patio. There is so much potential for a cute patio but there were just chairs and tables on gravel. Parking lot was hard to find, but once you make the right turn there is a small lot in the back. Otherwise you'd have to find street parking. The drinks were all very good, would go back just for the beer itself! Would recommend the Lavender IPA. The inside had a very after school hangout vibe with a small arcade area and plenty of different chairs to relax in. We went for Cinco De Mayo so they did have food trucks there too which was nice to grab a quick bite. Also the staff was very friendly! Overall I'm excited to see what they have in store for this summer! read more

Full disclosure: we are members of this co-op. But I thought I should write another review since it's been two years and the place has moved and changed completely (for the better!). This place just keeps getting better and better. The staff are like a family, and always happy to see you. The new outdoor space looking over the river with a view of Downtown is really nice. We continue to love almost all of the beers they come out with (and we go to a lot of breweries, so we know beer LOL). Really digging the new onsite coffee bar and food additions, it's a family owned business and has some good vegetarian options. Our favorite is the crunchy dog, why did I never think of putting potato chips in a hotdog? Now I don't want to eat my vegetarian hotdogs any other way! They have weekly events; our faves being bingo, a singalong, and a vinyl spinning night in the smaller cozier room. Very dog and family friendly place. And now I hear my favorite bakery is going to be moving in and opening a wine bar?! Can't wait!! read more

We have stopped here before with our pub pass to get a stamp. I love the location as I love non typical breweries. The grain mills (or whatever they are called sorry!) are so neat to be right next to. We have stopped in the summer and enjoyed the patio. Now come winter I saw they have igloos you can rent. With our anniversary being December 23 and in a middle of a pandemic but still want to have a nice celebration we booked an igloo. We picked up dinner from a nearby restaurant and grabbed a few beers (and pretzels!) from BC. It was so fun and beautiful. Thank you for taking the time to do memorable things for us to always remember! Oh and my husband even asked me to renew our vows INSIDE the igloo!! read more

I visited Broken Clock Brewing on a Friday evening around 8 pm. It was a very lively spot, lots of younger people grabbing beer with friends. My friend and I grabbed a beer - I tried the Watermelon Ale and my friend got their Coca Cola. The watermelon beer was nice and refreshing on a summer night, maybe a bit on the sweet side. Their beer selection was good; they had a lot of variety to choose from. The people working were very friendly and gave great suggestions for what to try. They have food available, but we didn't order any. There was a lot of room in the space with play areas for kids, pinball machines, and ample seating. It was a nice visit and I would go back! read more

Broken Clock is a member owned cooperative brewery. The new taproom is pretty awesome. It has plenty of seating, games, merch, pull tabs, and even a space for the kids to play! I made sure to check out how comfy the kids chair was! This brewery is also dog friendly. My favorite spot is the B-side Lounge! I visited on a weekend they had a DJ & fun Irish themed cocktails for the St. Paddy's celebrations. It was so much fun & that lounge is definitely a vibe! I have been to this brewery to separate times and enjoyed myself both times. Tucked away near the railroad tracks it's actually going to be moving soon. I recommend checking it out at this location beforehand. There's a lot selection of drinks, of course beer but they also have a seltzer which is more like a cider. Between my two trips I'd have to say that was my favorite drink. They also sell pretzels and popcorn, some nights there has been a food truck and some nights there wasn't. The nice thing is you can bring in your own food and no one bats an eyelash. The best part about this brewery is the igloos outback. They're 20$ to rent for an hour but totally worth it. Side note- yes there is a heater in each one but it honestly doesn't do much so bundle up. We've been in each of the igloos (70's, 90's and ski lodge) and preceded the ski lodge one the most. Inside you'll find regular seating, some couches and some video games to keep you busy. It's a nice place to come after work and hang out with friends. read more

For my third review of the year, I am featuring one of my favorite brewery in NE. The taproom is large. The bartenders are always so friendly. Lots of room to chill or hang out with friends and no music that is too loud. This brewery feels well organized yet it gives me a warm homey feel. We had their cherry porter and it was so yummy. So we decided to try their darkest of the day flights, a sample of all their dark beers that was only available that day when we went sometime around Christmas. They were all tasty. They even had a year end deal where we could have a discounted membership at this brewery. We loved the beer and the vibe of this place so much, we now own part of it!!! This is a 100% cooperative brewery so now you will find us there frequently. So glad is not far from our house. Cheers!!! read more

While parking.. I noticed the awesome grain mill... the amateur photographer in me went crazy! Of course my battery was running low, so I only got one pic. Another time! Haha. Now back to the brewery! They have a large parking lot and a some nice focal feature walls. This place is large and even has a few picnic tables inside for board games (aka kids area?). Beer: we only tried 2 tonight and the Maverick & Gose was my favorite. It had a nice combo of key lime and cherry and wasn't as sour as other sour type beers I've had. The Red Coats: Blood Orange New England IPA was pretty complex and bitter like orange rind. I'm not sure I could drink a full one without food. All and all a pretty nice brewery to visit. I loved that the high top tables had built in spots for foot rest! Thanks for thinking of us! read more

Great brewery/distillery/coffee shop, it's a little bit of everything! I was up visiting Twin Cities from Chicago, I'd been to several TC breweries, but never this one. It was quite impressive! They have a wide varieties of craft beers on tap. I only had time to get 2 but many looked good, and all the styles were represented. They also had cocktails and frozen slushies. In addition, there were NA options for all the above mentioned drinks. Plus there's a cafe at the end of the bar, and some tasty looking bakery items available as well. There was plenty of seating options inside, both regular tables and some lounge chairs. There's also a patio out back with some great views of the river (though as you can imagine on a nice day, those seats filled up fast.) There's plenty of boards games to play, plus a nice selection of vintage movie themed pinball games to play. I could easily have spent hours here, but alas had to get to other places. Easily one of my favorite breweries I've been to in MSP. read more

Stopped in today about 1. It was busy but the beertender said this looked like their slowest point of the weekend. I was excited upon entering to right away see the normal height bar seating!! There were four chairs, so I popped right in! Without even having to flag down a beertender he was over to take my order. I opted for Maverick & Gose as I was told it was tart. The beer was good. I really like the tap room; between the white counters and walls and the windows, it was plenty bright which made it inviting. I appreciate that the bathrooms aren't that far from the bar; when I heard down the hall I thought I'd have a long jaunt in front of me. I really like the new space and kind of the roaming beertender behind the bar, that manages to be attentive to see when a new patron sits down despite having a lot of seats in front of them. Congrats Broken Clock on a new comfortable and inviting tap room, cheers! read more

We love Broken Clock brewing! It used to be in a different location, but their new one is very spacious! Their new location doesn't have the patio it had at the old one (which was great), but this new spot is still fun. This brewery is unique in that it is a co-op. They have such an awesome selection, there's something to pick for everyone. My favorite is always one of their sours in rotation- they do a great job with their sours. Our favorite thing about a Broken Clock is the vibe- it's super laid back, pretty chill, and it doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. It's never too busy! Their beers are very tasty and refreshing. They have good service and can answer any question you throw at them. We love to stop when on a motorcycle ride or for a chill drink in the winter time. Such a fun laid back locals vibe. Feels like a ski lodge inside. The bbq guests had their thing going and the rib dinner was AMAZING. Also the beer here is really really good. And they have some very unique options. A smoked pepper stout. Floral lavender IPA. A version of a half and half or black and tan if you are used to calling it that. That Lavender Uprising... really unique and well-executed IPA! Floral, clean and the lavender is just right. Doesn't feel like I'm drinking a bar of soap. Muchas gracias. I also love a good black ipa, and the fade to Black was on point. A little on the hoppy side, but really good. Would love to come back next time I'm in town. Ambience- 9/10 Service- 9/10 IPA Rating- 9/10 Beers Tried- Spring Cleaning American IPA and Lavender Uprising American IPA. Came here on a rainy evening. This is a very hip brewery with cool artwork and sayings on the wall. There was also a biergarten outside. The bartenders were super friendly and were more than willing to let us try samples. The IPAs were pretty good. A good amount of bitter taste. The Lavender Uprising was a Nitro Tap so it had to sit for a little bit for the foam to die away. I did prefer the Spring Cleaning American IPA. The hoppier the better. Overall a good brewery to try! read more
